lol.....I so distinctly remember when it started playing in the theater as the credits rolled. I must have been 19 or so. I just remember being like "Oh oh oh! I'm hearing Maynard singing, through big speakers, in a public place! Everyone listen! This is important!" .....as families and young couples shuffled out the door throwing away their popcorn. And me going "guys....listen! The really good part is coming up....just wait...." No one cared.
A point of interest...Trent Reznor and Dany Loher are co-writers on this track. It is largely pulled from a failed project that Trent, Maynard and Co. were involved with (Tapeworm)
@@toolhog10 exactly! I was trying to remember who else was in Tapeworm. Could you imagine how amazing that project would've been had it gone to fruition? This track is amazing all around and one of my all time favorites over-all ❤
I wish Tapeworm had become a thing but in the end, everyone said that they weren't happy with how the sound was working out between the artists involved. NIN, APC, etc were 10/10 artists and Trent said that together they could only pull a maybe 7/10 sound together. ua-cam.com/video/H5VN4MGhf8M/v-deo.html (Trent answering this question.)
The guitarist, Billy Howerdel is magic. Good on you picking up how he uses seemingly off notes. Adds a strange but cool element to their music. Dave Mathews band added his friend Tim Reynolds who is also a master of playing the "wrong" note. So cool!
TR is a fantastic and underrated player. Super cool guy too, I got to work a TR3 show as an intern. I was patching in cables and setting up mics and he just sat there and played his acoustic like he was sitting on the couch in his living room. Surreal moment for me
Being a big DMB fan, I really like Tim’s contributions to the band. Haven’t listened to much of his solo work but I should probably get around to that.
