I just got myself Adorem for my upcoming birthday and I just came here to say thank you for recommending it! It transported me immediately to some old church I visited once in my childhood, for me it's an incense that has settled on the wooden benches and stone walls of a church, where there are more tourists than actual believers. Stunning perfume.
Those Nez perfumes I had not been aware of before. They are very interesting since Nez is directly related to Osmothèque. I have ordered one together with the latest magazine. 😊
The order has arrived. While the magazine is a great read and very informative, the perfume is quite underwhealming to my nose. I don't find it to be good advertisement for the magazine. Since my reputation has been destroyed anyways I may (again) just as well be honest about it. And I want to stress that the perfume I am speaking about is NOT Adorem!

And also Annick Menardo/Angelin Preljocaj, Maurice Roucel/Alan Chan (Honk Kongese designer) (unfortunately out of stock), Eva Jospin/Julien Rasquinet, Violaine Collas/Sopheap Pich (Cambodian artist), Marie Salamagne/Woodkid (unfortunately out of stock) Each of them now also comes with a podcast on our channel "Podcasts by Nez", which, contrary to what its name suggests, is a podcast... in French. For the moment!
I tried a sample of Devotion from House of Matriarch High Perfumery, which was supposed to be an ""incense" perfume. It wasn't for me at all. As you say it must be difficult to produce this fragrance. I also tried their perume called Kazimi which was supposed to have an old rose component. No rose here that my untrained nose could detect. Not for me either. I can't recall which of the two it was, but I got a burnt rubber note from one of them. Thank you for sharing your expertise!
I appreciated the focus on a single note through various brands, especially since frankincense is one of my favorites! Histoires de Parfum has impressed me as a brand, so the fact you gave their incense perfum high marks means I have to try it!

@@Persolaise did you end up keeping encens roi? For me personally the woody-Ambery drydown is appreciated just because i think it makes it more wearable/versatile than fragrances like Avingnon. Avingnon I can’t really wear on dates nights but encnes roi I can haha
Have you tried Botafumeiro by Carner? It takes me right into an Orthodox Church; I apply it before meditating & before going to sleep; comforting & realistic.

@@Persolaise I really really do. I like the NEZ a looot! I also tried the Roos and Roos Bel absinthe and I can see what you're saying about the yellow floral element. I find that one interesting I might need to try it more to see if it becomes a bottle. I also ordered a sample of Encens Roi and was instantly taken by it like Adorem. I did not want to like it based on the synthetic base you mentioned in the description but it just felt so seamless and pleasing. I found myself craving it a bit 😅. Am I trashy? I have ordered that one too haha!
I just tried to buy the Adorem and cannot find it for sale in the US. I'm not sure why, but it's not showing on the LuckyScent site for me. Nez will not ship stateside. 💔
You could have a second channel where you do nothing but skewer press releases. Kindly skewerings, of course. The simple sound of the word “globulus” made me laugh. If ever I come into possession of an obese hamster, I have the name ready.

It’s worth checking out, Lia, but sadly, the drydown is disappointing. It relies too heavily on woody ambers.
I bought myself Kyoto from Comme des garçons today, I like incense a lot and Adorem from Nez is another winner, very interesting dry peppery incense!

Yes, but sadly, the effect isn’t sustained to the end. Woody ambers take over and spoil the show. A real shame.
