As I now am no longer working (not my choice), I have had to take stock of my over the top perfume buying. I can no longer just hit the send button to order the latest perfume. Finally, I am taking the time to completely enjoy my own collection, which is too large to count, but in the range of well over one thousand. It includes vintage but also lots of new ones as well. I now know that I have enough perfumes in my collection even though in the future, if something really intrigues me, I may succumb to buying it. In the meantime, I am enjoying my own collection. This was a very enjoyable video and I will now spray myself with an evening perfume. Thank you Persolaise for this wonderful Saturday afternoon.
Congrats on 17k ! You deserve so much more! Make ‘shorts’ seems like thats the sad way of the world. Would be a nice addition to your long form lives! 💜💎🏆
I absolutly love Aphèlie 🥰 its so green but sweet and rosy at the same time and it wears beautyfully in warm weather. I want to get a travelsize for sure 🥀
Thanks for directing me in a reply in another video to your review of black tea! I can't get enough of juniper as a note, so am certainly on the hunt for a sample. Such a shame I never came across the Diptyque candle, it sounds marvelous. Great video, as always. I hope to catch you live one day!
Watching from the Pacific North West BC, Canada. My husband is in Milan and bringing home the new Diptyque Cherry Blossom for me. I normally use the Violette for spring/summer. So glad you are reviewing Sous un Ciel de Pétales. Spiritus Scanti and Cannelle are my winter candle scents.
I'm currently at a stage where I feel a bit overwhelmed with all of the complex compositions I've been smelling. A lot of them are beautiful, most of them interesting, but with everything else going in my life scents like Molecule 01 and M pluses seem rather appealing. L'eau Papier also feels like it might be something for me right now. Also, congratulations on 17k🎉 well deserved 😊
Thank you for these reviews Dariush! The Escentric Molecules collection really reminds me of the Prada Infusion Series aesthetics. Streamlined, smooth, inoffensive, pleasant and clean smelling. Ideal urban (North American) office scents. I haven't smelled the latest Escentric Trio yet but enjoyed the M1+Iris though I wouldn't buy it. For that price I except a little bit more creativity and nuance.
Hi Mr. P! Thanks again for a lovely live. I share the same frustrations as you with regards to tea in perfumery. I mentioned this in chat, but you might be interested in Chasing Scents. They do tea perfumes that actually smell like tea, specifically Chinese tea. I believe the perfumer is a chemist who distills her own tea extracts. I greatly enjoyed my Tea Service and Rain Tea samples.
Came across your video realy good content im keen to smell the other moncler fragrances in the new line i own 2 200 ml bottles of la corda am obsessed with that fragrance and i own way too many high end neche fragrances just sumthing special with a simple composition i hope the iris one solstice is as good peace out

I have Fleur De Cerisier on the way to me..and you telling there is sorta of an 80's pencil eraser note in the beginning when you open the box is heaven to me. Normally I'm not into sweet scents, but I just had to get this. It sounds so charming. I have thought of getting one of the new Trudon candles but the price is a bit much for me. Thank you for the lovely reviews x
Your shirt is fantastic! I love the Trudon candles but only allow myself one expensive habit at a time so no candles for me. I was underwhelmed by the Trudon perfumes however when i smelled them in store. Will have another sniff when I come across them. I adore Antoine Lee’s Daphne which smells a lot like Rien to me.
@Persolaise Perhaps Geza finds a creative outlet in Ormande Jayne? Still trying to find one that I can desire as a FB - my wife and I were both quite smitten with Champaca as a reasonably unisex soft, floral; however, it appears that the base of the majority of OJ’s scents are slightly headache inducing (to me anyways). I’ve heard that this could perhaps be, impart, attributed to Geza’s demonstrative use of Iso E Super…
Omg Regarding cuir carnage what a story around it ! So you can still have it … even if both Harrods and Selfridge told straight away no . I had a quick and soft argument as I knew they had it and they re like choosing who they wanted to sell it ..(seems some people worth it more than others 😅 )then I went to Dior boutique (Mayfair ) they told me they already gave all their samples bottles to Selfridge (seems that they keep it for them or black market ) At Harrods they finally confessed me they do have it but only as a direct buy ,no sample nothing I wasn’t abble to get a sniff at all ..unfortunately and knowing the price nearly £300 I couldn’t make it without smelling it first . Voila for anyone wanted to get it ,go to the perfume salon and check Dior stand directly and ask them directly for the 250ml if you’re ready … we’ll I wasn’t 😅
This was interesting as always to hear your comments, but as a staunch maximalist these are a pass for me. Iso E Super also seems to bother me if I am exposed too often.
I smelled the Moncler ones today at Harrods. As you said, they smell alright, but nothing outstanding. Les Roches Noires is the one I preferred the most; a woody ambery scent with touches of patchouli. Sales assistant was disappointed because I told him I will be back to try them on my skin; he wanted me to buy it because I've sniffed off a piece of paper. Right!! Overpriced, just like anything from Moncler, imo. I had on my hands three scents from Hermès(Hermessence collection) and the quality of all three was way(WAY) higher than the Moncler's.
Yes, that is an issue. It’s all quite complicated, because some brands reckon their paraffin is ‘better’ than other brands’, and some use a mix of paraffin with other materials.
I have been gifted lots of candles (have only once in my life been gifted a perfume). However, I do not light the candles as much as I should as I am afraid I will fall asleep and burn down the house!
I lived in Japan over 5 years and walked through many parks, lush with cherry blossoms. Disappointingly, there is almost no aroma at all. I’m convinced it’s one of those “fantasy” scents. 🥴
It’s true that the blossoms might not smell like much when they’re on the tree, but the smell associated with cherry blossoms in Japan is that of salt pickled cherry blossoms and leaves. They are slightly spicy (almost cinnamon-like), savory, and have a soft floral inflection. It’s such a distinctive aroma! The cheap cherry blossom sweets are not worth trying (too sweet and synthetic tasting/smelling), but good quality cherry blossom tea and sweets have a very delicate but complex profile.
@@stephanie_yagata Very true. I was in a traditional Japanese wedding, as a proxy parent for a young man, and cherry blossom tea was served. It had an interesting salty, slightly floral quality, but very delicate & pleasant.
Oh, my! You had me at “strangely green”! Aphelie goes straight to my to-sample list. Congrats on the 17k! Fabulous episode, always. Really love the commentary about the “expensive/complex/nice/nothing new” creations. In most applications, nowadays, I think “nice” is a kiss of death.

The tea history segment was most interesting.
Thank you.

Thank you. I need to get back into the shorts. Everything is so time-consuming, unfortunately.
I really liked the Iris one and still have it. Hopefully, I will eventually get to try these new ones.
I hope so too.
Thanks for watching, Phyllis.

I know what you mean, Suleika. I’m sure there’s a market for such compositions.

Monsieur Persolaise a very inspiring episode, thank you 😊♥️. The mono scents of Geza Schön are nicely experimental for layering 👍🏾
That’s very kind, thank you.

Yes, I suppose OJ must be important to him... assuming he's still their sole perfumer.

Well, Hermes make a point of striving for innovation. I’m not sure the same can be said of Moncler.
Thanks for taking the time to write.
As a candle fan, do you mind the paraffin wax ones? I try to avoid them and am wondering if that precludes my buying candles from perfume houses.
Well, yes, you do need to be very careful with candles, and never leave them 'unattended'. Maybe you'd prefer reed diffusers.

Oh really? That is disappointing. But thanks for letting us know.
It is the Japanese plum that has a sweet scent but not the cherry blossoms
@@jamxone80 plum blossom in general, in my home country, blossoming plums are amazing!
