The penguins! The brass statue of those penguins used to be in the Glendale mall on the north side of Indianapolis. I used to play on those as a child. How cool to see them again.
If I remember right...and I'm going back to the 90s when I was around 12, going into the Ocean exhibit, you walk down a walkway with water pouring down to the left and right, and at thsbottom of the decline, you get to these penguin statues, which used to be a pool full of coins.
I spent most of my childhood in Indianapolis and we loved the zoo. SO much has been updated. The dolphin building used to be tan, the Orangutan exhibit...mind-blowing, hope the desert dome is still there. So much awesome change. Going into the African exhibit, the train used to cross over the pathway into that exhibit. The train ride was my favorite. Hope it's still there. I lived in Naptown from '90 - '05, and the zoo is way cooler now...even though Indy Zoo was in the nation's top zoos back in the day. BTW...the person who designed the Indianapolis Zoo logo was my Graphic Design teacher at Warren Central High School...Mr. Spencer.
Omg, I know this is two years ago, but I have to say this! When I was 7 and went here with my family, that place you saw with where the monkeys were and the huge water, thats where the polar bear used to be. It was 10 years ago, I still can't believe it, I miss the polar bear!
we went to the indinapolis zoo just the other day and it was definitely an amazing experience! after watching this video though, I realised we accidentally skipped an entire section of the zoo 😅 whoops
Fun fact, birds are now considered to actually be living dinosaurs, not just their descendants. They now belong to the clade Maniraptora, making them close cousins of dinosaurs like Velociraptor and Therizinosaurus.

I meet u at. Ga
"Vast African plains type of area here"...cocaine is a he'll of a drug.."the ostrich is running"!
My wife would smack me if I compared her to the size of a white rhino. Lol. You're just a few min up the road from me.
Christmas at the zoo is really cool.
I feel a bit sad for the orangutan because in the wild orangutans almost never touch the ground
Did u not see the Orangutan up in the sky?
Boo, they have dolphins.
