I applaud you for being willing to take a stand. If enough people were willing to do this it would force BGS to make some serious changes. I honestly don’t know if there are though, but I see way more unhappy Fallout fans than I do happy ones so there may be. The good news is ( in my “educated” opinion/ thanks to XBOX) you’ll be playing a new Fallout game a lot sooner than you think, it just won’t be Fallout 5, it’ll be another game similar to New Vegas to help fill the gap until Fallout 5. The Fallout TV show love it or hate it ( I love it) has reach an insane level of popularity that Fallout 76 could never capitalize on. It’s opened Microsoft / XBOX eyes to how underutilized the Fallout IP is for its potential. There’s heavy pressure from XBOX on BGS to “ Get the next Fallout game out ASAP!!” It would surprise me if there wasn’t a game in the works this very moment. Especially considering XBOX now owns literally every game developer that has ever made a Fallout game. There are plenty of other studious within XBOX game studios but outside of Bethesda to work on the Fallout IP.

I can answer the reason why in 1 word.NOTHING. Bethesda could have captialized on hype in any number of ways. Could have interviewed the cast of the show and explored what they liked about the franchise, what they were excited about for the next season or what they would like to see going forward, they could have shown concept art for the next fallout entry, they could have talked about the modding scene and what they have been seeing to give some love to their talented community but instead it was a WHOLE LOT OF NOTHING.
the bar was so low they couldve announced a fix for the fallout 4 next gen update that WOULD REVERT the ba2 file structure back to .163 so it didnt break EVERY MOD on nexus and people would have been ecstatic but they didnt even do that

Not even necessarily because of this particular event but because it’s been almost a decade since the last single player Fallout game and it’ll be at least another decade until Fallout 5. All the while there’s absolutely no mention of any kind of remaster or allowing Obsidian or another developer the chance to make another Fallout game to fill the long gap. The majority of the fanbase isn’t interested in 76, they just want their Fallout games single player. So when BGS holds a “Fallout Day” and just completely disregards and refuses to address what the majority of the fanbase has been asking for your going to get backlash like they’re getting.

They even showed the ghoul employee 3d modelling a ghoul head that, to me, looked closer to Fallout 3 ghouls. There was little NEW info regarding 76. The stream lasted ONLY 20 minutes! It could have just been a twitter post or 3.
If they can release a small teaser towards Elder Scrolls 6 to save the Fallout 76 E3 presentation 6 years ago, they can give a tiny teaser to a Fallout 3 remake, or Fallout 5 a few years early to save the first ever Fallout Day stream.

People will continue to be mad every time this happens. I’m sorry.

The community overall is feeling negative about the current game and its leaking into other things. I think this next update is moving a lot of player s to lose interest. I know a lot of players and friends that aren't willing to rebuild their characters and weapons so its time to move on. Fallout Day wasn't anything anyone cared about. Bethesda isn't listening. Too much tweaking of dumb stuff and not enough fixing all the issues that still exist in the game. Like.. Why was nerfing the railroad gun and making new skins for knives and weapons nobody uses more important than fixing the awful build mode glitches???? Building is huge in this game yet they pay no attention to it beyond throwing atom shop crap and items at us that we cant even use because the camp budgets are so small. Get your priorities straight Bethesda! Its truly an amazing game with tons of potential even after all these years but they need to get some things corrected that should have been fixed ages ago.

I have feeling that since Bethesda was aquired by Microsoft Todd Howard's executive role secretly has been given to Emil Pagliarulo, while Todd was left as face of Bethesda and so called "goatscape" without any real power over direction that Bethesda is aiming.

I don’t think being critical means being negative. They literally turned into a meme when they were like “ we’re working on Fallout 76 and we’re not stopping.” And then everything they’re adding isn’t coming out right away? Like how are you gonna say we can be ghouls and then release it in 4 months? How could that not be implemented today? And how are they only gonna add a dog and cat as pets? Like you couldn’t think of any other animals? I can think of some right now, bobcat, wolves, boars, owls, alligators, bears, mutated frogs. Like come on. It’s not the fact they only showed 76 stuff. It’s the fact they act like they’re doing so much yet add so little. They act like they’re doing amazing work when they’re not. The people they showed were so full of themselves and so out of touch of what fallout actually is, is what pisses me off. And I sincerely hope that none of them work on Fallout 5. Because they’re going to ruin it. I don’t want a cartoony outlandish caricature that they made. I want the vibes they had in Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. Not this weird whacky nonsense they have with 76. It’s stupid.

I was someone who posted on the event about being disappointed with the event being focused on 76. Yes, they specifically wrote that it was going to be about 76, BUT the *core* marketing of "Fallout Day" is what stuck, that's what got passed around, that's why expectations were so high.
Fallout 76 is still a lackluster product with little in the way of bringing enthusiasm to its dissenters, myself included. I even gave it a download on PC to see if that version felt better than console because I'm down horrifically bad for *more* Fallout, and I don't think I'm alone. My issues with 76 are deeper than contrarian spite or being picky. I genuinely just do not like the game. And I'm kinda just tired of the "If you don't like it, too bad" response from Bethesda, and the apologetics for that approach.
Seeing anything thrown out for fans who feel the way I do would have been nice, and I do mean literally anything.

Think it goes a lot deeper than this. All the new bugs after every update are unacceptable, all the nerfs of setups that many have been using for years, it is getting to be a massive turn off and becoming sickening. People were playing this "once again fleshly broken game" as this event was going on so what did Bethesda expect other than a bit of Backlash and negativity, it is sadly expected at any of these Great events because for some they are given the only platform to display their discontent, by people who want their voice listened to. Makes you think who or what at Bethesda is sabotaging this brilliant game every time the button is prematurely pressed to update this game ?????????

This the first time I hear about fallout day, and I guess drama lol I agree it's cool to choose this day for "Fallout Day" for in game lore reasons, but maybe people are upset that a day meant to celebrate the lore and games people love was just used as a market strategy for a game few people care about. I played 76 when it came out because friends wanted to try it out; big mistake to waste money on that game haven't played since but sucks that "Fallout Day" belongs to "Vault"(Bethesda) and not the people.

Just in terms of my own thoughts regarding the content of the show, It was pretty much what I’d anticipated, given other games I’ve been invested in, like NMS, Starfield, cyberpunk2077 that had less than ideal launches, unlike many BSG fans, I actually think F76 is great and I’m having a blast refining my build, I’m not maxed on my cards yet as I play when I can, I work full time, so playing time is a premium, when I get a bit fed up as I’m not getting the drop I want, or my cards are not going in the right direction; I take a step away, play something else for 5 minutes, then come back to it with fresh perspective and impetuous and go again, the community online are so helpful, and I look to pay that forward with new players, I get satisfaction out of it, so anything they add to the game is a bonus for me, something else to do. Thanks for this stream, great content and on point.

Thought Fallout Day was fairly interesting, but I'm deeply concerned that a lot of the stuff they added then and with Skyline is insanely grindy. A 1% drop rate on legendaries is bad enough, but the hundreds or thousands of repetitive skyline runs you have to do to get anywhere is really dismaying. In that context, there's no way the raid drops will be reasonable, and as soon as I discover they're not, I lose all interest.

I get it, 76 is their live service money maker, but as you said majority of this was known news, the whole thing could have been done with a tweet. If fallout 76 is the only thing they get in mind when they make a fallout day i see where this will lead later on. And for to be real, i don´t want another fallout from bethesda. They flattened their story, quest and overall rpg design already with skyrim to approach the most broad audience possible, they expanded on that with fallout 4 and then even created an equal looking but "evil" twin called fallout 76 they now constantly relate on when talking about fallout. And then there came flatfield. I expect nothing from them anymore that could include a deep story or rpg experience anymore, it´s all about flat easy access, action and blinky blinky graphics. I am voting with my wallet for 8 years now but there are too many people out there for who this flat cheap hamburger development style seems to be enough - nobody remembers how the juicy steaks in earlier game development years tasted.

I think I understand where you're coming from about what Bethesda said would be in the presentation versus what they said wouldn't but at the end of the day they continue to choose to not make another fallout game. I don't know what Xbox is thinking at this point. Put obsidian or one of the billion other studios that they own on a spin-off fallout for the love of God. I have no confidence in bethesda's ability to make games anymore like on a fundamental level. Starfield was a very big eye opener considering how long that game is in development and just how poor the overall game was. They just don't seem to make RPGs anymore lol and I think there's so much hostility towards 76 because of a lot of the community feels like they should take the resources they are using on fallout 76 and use them on building a new actual fallout title
