Sam... If slight delay is innevitable with contacting the AI... Why not simply keep the 'illusion/performance,' going by having the code tell the skeleton to say things like 'Hm...' befiore breaking into the sentance once its processed. Just a bank of gestures n common language ticks humans do while thinking about the thing they are about to say.. and have it spit out immediately while the AI does its work. I imagine if it works it would almost make the 1.5 second delay practically unimportant. Remember, its just about not breaking immersion... and humans recognise when any computer controlled device has that total stillness fora few seconds while you know it's processing. Just mask it, performatively. Skeleton, performatively.
i have a roku stick i got it by chance as i wanted a chromecast which was sold out, that was years ago its still as good as the day i bought it with absolutely no problems ever
damn my mind is back to being blown on this podcast, the FUTURIST, FUTUROLOGY PEEPS - i love the describing how AI LLMs help in the context of the problem
29:48 So the thing with the court stenographer is that you still want a person there being responsible about what's being said and the context and who says it, chording keyboards allow them to type as fast as people talk, and in the 80s to 90s there was an attempt to replace them with audio recorders until some of those got corrupted or was un-decipherable, so it comes down not to a technical limitation of automation the task but to having someone also looking after the result at these high stakes jobs, we had a technical ability to replace them for a long time now.
What trail are you going up for verdugo mountain at night? I used to hike up the brand park trailhead at night - I’ve only done the Burbank nature center trailhead and la tuna canyon trailhead during the day
I will say that is the biggest part of AI and Chat GPT I am okay with and actually need. I agree with Sam that I feel like I use to be able to search something related to my problem and google would actually be able to show me the exact scenario I am searching for that someone else had gone through. Especially with coding. But now, it tries to give the most vague results that could have to do with what I am searching for, but not rarely helps. I can ask chat gpt almost anything related to programming and it can give me answers I can use.
14:30 Wren my guy at Night you probably will hardly see a bobcat, or just its eyes lol. If it’s at all dark they are great at hiding at night in Particular

Security/police are so militarized now that they'll just send out a thermal drone and watch you with out you even knowing. AI is so good it'll just find and lock onto you without a human even being aware of it until they review the video.
I think what continues to bother me about ai in coding is that the stuff it gives you is doable in less time than it takes to describe what you want to a chat bot. Wanna control a servo...theres a library you can use. Its called the servo library. Free download from your friendly local git repot. Takes exactly 2 lines of code. Servo.attach() and servo.write().
THAT’S what bothers you? First of all, no. Second of all, the real issue with AI coding (which is an inevitable one) is that it’s going to make many jobs obsolete.

I was actually wondering about the delay on the light setup for the muzzle flashes! Very cool to hear how Claude solved it
Roku support is very much appreciated!
Same! Already added to my apps.😁
One of the bests talks from y'all recently!

Yeah I would not be weirded out by the character I am talking to having to think before they speak
Niko and Wren doing "Kick, Push" adventures - so punk rock! damn haha
The amount my life would change to have real time subtitles on people I’m speaking to.
So happy the pod is more consistent
I'm curious what might happen if the skeleton asks a question, and then a group of kids just all yell out an answer at the same time.
Ren just starting the podcast by sneezing on his hand 😂🤚🦠
New cast? LETS GOOOOOOOOO

To make the a speech seem faster , you could add some filler words Such as "Hmm, let's see."

Just realize that actual programmers are going to become obsolete. It’s kinda sad for those of us that spent time studying it.
can you post the script for the muzzle flashes or is it on the website i’ve been waiting 6 years for yall to make it and i’d love to recreate it

hey Wren, you should do a real size of Satisfactory video

I remember when Wren did a video on replacing his one wheel tire. How many times has he replaced his wheel?
a LOT at this point haha! Especially if you include all the tires I've done for friends!

OH MY GOD SOMEONE ELSE WHO ONOWS THE 5/7 I’ve had to explain that to so many people and I can’t find the origin of it to show them.

I doubt they’re doing that for trail trespassers. They wouldn’t be sending out ghetto birds in LA if they had such sophisticated drone tech.

It’s kinda disheartening that people barely need to learn how to code anymore. Just relying on chat bots to code for you seems unfair lol.
