The ugly Audrey 2 plant creature is called a Malboro and appears in many final fantasy games. It has an attack called Bad Breath where it exhales fumes that inflict a huge array of status effects like blindness, paralysis, poison, damage vulnerability, damage inflicted down, all at once. In some games it’s every debuff in the whole game. It has been speculated that they are named after Marlboro cigarettes because of the smoke and bad breath. The squirrel in the game is called a nutkin. In FFXIV you can have all jobs on one character. You switch jobs by changing weapons but you will also need gear. Most jobs level up separately and most start as a class. For instance you can start as a gladiator but at level 30 become a paladin. You can switch to an archer but it would then level 1. New jobs released with expansions start higher. The exception is arcanist starts at level one but at level 30 becomes a summoner (damage) and scholar (healer). They share levels so leveling one levels both.
Job trailers like the one you saw are typically there to show off the animations of the new job. So they usually just have the character attack a dummy/punching bag in the form of an enemy in the new areas. (job = class, like black mage or warrior) The two new jobs in this coming expansion are The first being viper which is inspired from a character in Final Fantasy 9 who uses twin blades and dual blades. The second Job is Painter inspired by a character in Final Fantasy 6 named Relm. They use magic painting to fight. ie Draw a monster and the monster would become alive for a moment and attack an enemy or draw a boulder and you drop a boulder on your enemy.
May 16 the job trailer will be revealed which will includes all jobs displaying their new abilities (level 100). Then June 14 releases the launch trailer which is a completely different trailer that has story details and is more like a traditional trailer. June 28 Dawntrail early access comes out with the 2 new jobs shown in the trailer you watched here Viper and Pictomqncer. July 2 is the official release date.
The green tentacle monster he was fighting is called a Marlboro. They are well known in the FF games over the years, specifically for their main attack: Bad Breath, which inflicts a number of status effects all at once 🤘
Ah the Marlboro, so annoying in all it's forms if players are caught unaware. But it still does not hold a candle to the horror that is the Tonberry. *shivers with fear at the memories*
Despite the similarity to the name of the cigarette brand (which is almost certainly intentional), the enemies in FF are called either malboros or morbols, depending on the game in question.
The way FF14 does the cinematic trailers is that they unveil it at the Fan Fest conventions. There are usually three of them every 2 years; one in NA, one in EU, and one in Japan....and each version of the trailer reveals more of the trailer. The third one shown in Japan is the full cinematic. And the playerbase instantly started calling this the "Beach Episode" expansion, after having had to deal with all the darkness of the previous couple of expansions. I have no doubt that there will be dark moments in this expansion as well though. But story-wise, this is the start of a new story arc for the game.
You are correct about the trailer thing. Around the time of a new expansion they host three big conventions; the fanfests. The first fanfest gets a teaser trailer that really shows very little and the music for it is often muted and incomplete. The second fanfest shows more, and often continues the showcase for the first new Job or Race that has been teased at in the first. The third fanfest shows us the full, completed trailer with all bells and whistles and gets the most hyped because a second job, a villain, more PC race or NPC info is given... tons of speculation finally answered...
I'm glad you guys watched the trailer! 😊 As someone else mentionned in the comment, you guys should wait for the release of the next Jobs Trailer. It MIGHT get released by the end of the month... but don't worry, we'll tell you when it's available. 😗
This one is and older version of the trailer, the second version of it to be released to be exact. The full trailer is the third and final version that will be used in the game as the final product.
The 'squirrel" was a "Nutkin" and it's claim to fame in the series was appearing in a scene where one of the characters was naked and the "Nutkin" was strategically placed to block the view of their privates in that scene.
When Final Fantasy 14 has been preparing for a new expansion, they have in the past revealed the traile rover time. They hold 3 "Fan Fest"s. Its a giant convention where they showcase the new content, hold panels, the devs, and producer, YoshiP all show up and just has a great big party. Theres concerts, costumes etc. First one is in LasVegas, they reveal a short first look of the new cinematic trailer. Basically stage 1. Stage two, Fan fest in London, we get a new longer trailer (thats the first dawntrail you watched in this video). It contains more content than the first trailer, but is still incomplete. The third is in Tokyo, where the full and final trailer is revealed. The game started out with a handful of classes. Tanks: Paladin, Gladiator. Healers: White Mages and Scholars. Melee DPS: Dragoon and Monks. Ranged DPS: Bard. MAGIC DPS: Summoner and Black Mage. They added new classes over time. and the information/reveals were usually done through the live panels with the devs, during these fan fests. In between the base game and the first expansion, the released Ninja, a new melee DPS. When Heavensward (The first expansion) came out, we got a new tank, Dark Knight, new healer, Astrologian and a new ranged dps, Machinist. When expansion 2 Stormblood came out, they did something new. The fanfests always begin by playing the new trailer for all to see, so they began revealing new classes in this way. This is how we first learned we were getting the melee DPS Samurai. We also got a magic dps, Red Mage, but it was not shown in the trailer, just announced during one of the panels. The 3rd expansion, Shadowbringers, we were given a new ranged DPS - Dancer, which was revealed with a new playable race as well in the trailer, the Viera (female only from ff12), when we saw the dancing Bunny woman clad in red. We were also revealed to a new tank - Gunbreaker (Squall from ff8) in this trailer. Shown in panels but not the trailer was the all Male, Hrothgar playable race. Expansion 4 - Endwalker, revealed a new healer - Sage. We also got a new melee DPS - Reaper, revealed in the same trailer. A new playable race feature not revealed in trailer, but in panels, Male Viera. And with Dawntrail as you just watched, we were given 3 new things - a new melee dps - VIPER (daul wield darthmaul realness), magic dps - PICTOMANCER, (paint picture magic fun times) and the addition of Females to Hrrohgar race as shown at the et with the large cat woman. Basically these trailers meant even more to people actively playing in real time, because we were being told HEY THIS IS CANNON!
The 2nd Trailer is the Full trailer the 1st was a teaser with some stuff edited out for when the expansion is close to release to not spoil too much for people playing the game
during the 3 fanfests we always get before a expansion launches we first getting a teaser trailer from the new expansion second fanfest we will get a extended teaser trailer and first new job that was here viper final fanfest we get the full trailer and last job pictomancer tradition they also show the release date and pre-order goodies during this fanfest if u see there was no date in the full trailer the release date we got later because naoki yoshida ( game director) had to delay endwalker at the last moment so they could not give us the date when the full trailer launched (release date is set for juli 2th early acces june 28th)
One of my first reactions was, that the Warrior of Light in the trailer gives me some Bradley Cooper vibes(face) and I also like how we'll see more of the Hrothgar, something other than wartorn Bosjza and ruins all over the place.
The First trailer you showed for DawnTrail was the teaser they showed earlier. The last one was "full", also you should look up the Pictomancer job trailer for the second job shown in the last trailer. That last part where the lion girl steps out of the belows deck is a female Hrothgar, It's important because right now you can only play as male.
Krile - the smalll one with painbrush is essentialy scientist, and part of our group, unfortunately she didnt really have any big impact, mostly helping from behind, so her having new class seems like she will have big impact on story
In response to the painter yous liked, one of the new jobs in the game is "Pictomancer" It's probably not a direct reference but you'd recognize it more as Sai's "I can paint birds and animals and bring them to life" deal in Naruto.
I know you mentioned ff7 but I wholeheartedly recommend ff16 for your first game, combat is simple, easy but satisfying and the story is one of the best of the series with fantastic characters.
*LETS GOOOOO!!!!* Think it would be a good idea to show them the ffxiv jobs of what our abilities are in the game and that would be the endwalker jobs video^^
The trailer is amazing, maybe for me it was inspired by scenes from Hispanic America and its musical curtain is similar to that of Spain. Great work by square Enix
This game really is a ride though, I do highly suggest it... even if MMO's aren't you're thing... it's a very good introductory to the concept really... and if you don't want to play with anyone else... the trust system is there
The Dawntrail Expansion is essentially the 'Vacation' expansion because we've been fighting world ending threats for so long this expansion is to mostly get away from all of that. Not to say we won't be fighting but this is not a threat to end the world. I would say more but honestly I feel like you two should play the game to get the whole story FF14 can take time if you're working on getting all the jobs however if you pre-order Dawntrail you can get an item that boosts your EXP gain till you reach level 90 the current maximum level. This is also a game you two can play together. Though you'd have to do it through separate consoles or with one person on console and the other on PC however it is coming to Xbox so there's also that. You would have to buy the previous DLC first though.
Just need the current "complete edition" which is ARR through Endwalker expansions (there is a "starter edition" but it is just ARR.) It goes on sale often. Then pre-order Dawntrail for the earring exp boost, presumably before the early-access release on June 28th. When Dawntrail officially launches on July 2nd (I think) the "complete edition" will get updated and include it as well, but you would definitely miss out on the pre-order earring. And there's always the free trial. Which with as generous as the trial is, I honestly don't know why the "starter edition" even exists anymore. The trial includes all of ARR, Heavensward and Stormblood expansions, with no time limits. Literally hundreds, if not thousands of hours of content if you do all the side-content and level up all the jobs available. For free. The main story, alone, could be over 100 hours by then. For free. It's nuts.
In universe they have a species classification system similar to how we have 'mammals', 'plants', 'reptiles' and so on. They instead call them things like 'beastkin', 'seedkin', 'scalekin' with intelligent humanoids referred to as 'spoken'. All of this I only mention to point out that the little sugar glider or whatever it is, has been referred to with the non-existent classification of 'nutkin'. Or perhaps it is secretly so important that it deserves an entire tier of classification all to itself? The multiple versions makes more sense when they are giving us a slow burn, gradually revealing new details with each promotional release, but I did feel kind of bad for anyone sitting through the multiple variations of that trailer in one go. It's easier to justify watching each one when they are weeks apart.

Yeah, sure. Marketing bot? Square is milking the game since Stormblood and cutting it down further and further. utterly absurd to think that this suddenly changed. There is ZERO sign for that and they got YEARS to change, but it went constantly downhill. But the marketing works. Was helpful, that they bought some WoW streamer to sell the lies about caring developers to those who got no clue. Sure, majority left again, since a lie can't work forever, but hell, it for sure brought in some good bucks, especially with their massive real money shop.

The developers are loved because they actually listen and care about improving the game. Literally some of the things that were asked at fanfest while they were on stage were added to the game a month later. Blizzard take a decade to respond to feedback let alone implement changes and thats why so many people moved over. Deal with it. Also the majority of players would say Stormblood is a much worse expansion than what came after. The only thing which hasn't improved leaps and bounds since then is class design. So how is that milking anything when they continuously release something substantially better than before? Dawntrail is also slated to be the largest expansion ever in terms of features. And why are you so mad about a cash shop? Find an MMO which doesn't have one. Now find an MMO which doesn't have one in-game. FF is the only one I know of that can say that. At least they make an effort to keep it truly optional. They even give you the option of a cheaper subscription with limited characters. Usual problem as majority of FF14 trailer: Instead of using it to add to the story, it's just random nonsense. Sad enough, that' still better than the other problem, when you think it's telling part of the story, but it's all a lie and got nothing to do with what is actually happening. Never get it. Especially WoW, from which FF14 massively copy/pasted to save the game, after the desaster the first version was, showed how it is done and I'm not even talking about graphic or sound quality, but about how they quickly switched from a general trailer as the very first one and in big parts that of the first addon, to extremely impactful ones, starting with WotLK and all which followed. But since Stormblood addon, Square is so focussed on miking the game, it's all about marketing and they seem to dislike or fear their own story and don't want to talk about it, so instead you get those random cuts of stuff, focussed on leaving you in the dark. Can work - for a while, but after the x-th time falling for it, it mainly leaves a salty taste.

Yeah it has to be named after the cigarettes though they can’t confirm that for legal purposes we imagine 🤔 but we totally believe it 😎
Job trailers like the one you saw are typically there to show off the animations of the new job. So they usually just have the character attack a dummy/punching bag in the form of an enemy in the new areas. (job = class, like black mage or warrior)
The two new jobs in this coming expansion are
The first being viper which is inspired from a character in Final Fantasy 9 who uses twin blades and dual blades.
The second Job is Painter inspired by a character in Final Fantasy 6 named Relm. They use magic painting to fight. ie Draw a monster and the monster would become alive for a moment and attack an enemy or draw a boulder and you drop a boulder on your enemy.
😎👍🙂
Basically the relaxing adventure after saving the world
😎🍹🍻
@@darkoraclegirl4570 THROAT STAB ALL THE THINGS 🤣🤣🤣
The best way to sum up Marlboro's "Whats your favorite debuff? mines all of them"
Bad Breath just like Marlboro smokers 😝
Copy that 🙂
Correction is that yoshida called it the beach episode of ff14. The fanbase just echoed that.
As someone else mentionned in the comment, you guys should wait for the release of the next Jobs Trailer.
It MIGHT get released by the end of the month... but don't worry, we'll tell you when it's available. 😗
We know the community will keep us posted as always 😀
This is the first expansion after the conclusion of a 10-year-long story. Tldr; We basically got recommended taking this vacation, so here we go.
This one is and older version of the trailer, the second version of it to be released to be exact. The full trailer is the third and final version that will be used in the game as the final product.
I love both yall!❤ I was really looking forward to this reaction
Thanks so much 🤗 hope you enjoyed it 🥳🥳
The 'squirrel" was a "Nutkin" and it's claim to fame in the series was appearing in a scene where one of the characters was naked and the "Nutkin" was strategically placed to block the view of their privates in that scene.
😎👍😊
Loved that little squirrel analysis haha
during the 3 fanfests we always get before a expansion launches we first getting a teaser trailer from the new expansion
second fanfest we will get a extended teaser trailer and first new job that was here viper
final fanfest we get the full trailer and last job pictomancer tradition they also show the release date and pre-order goodies during this fanfest if u see there was no date in the full trailer the release date we got later because naoki yoshida ( game director) had to delay endwalker at the last moment
so they could not give us the date when the full trailer launched (release date is set for juli 2th early acces june 28th)
That last part where the lion girl steps out of the belows deck is a female Hrothgar, It's important because right now you can only play as male.
love how the song mentions the expansion names
Krile - the smalll one with painbrush is essentialy scientist, and part of our group, unfortunately she didnt really have any big impact, mostly helping from behind, so her having new class seems like she will have big impact on story
In response to the painter yous liked, one of the new jobs in the game is "Pictomancer" It's probably not a direct reference but you'd recognize it more as Sai's "I can paint birds and animals and bring them to life" deal in Naruto.
It's not a reference to Naruto. It's a reference to the character Relm in FF6 released in 1994. Sai was introduced in the Naruto manga in 2005.
I know you mentioned ff7 but I wholeheartedly recommend ff16 for your first game, combat is simple, easy but satisfying and the story is one of the best of the series with fantastic characters.
*LETS GOOOOO!!!!*
Think it would be a good idea to show them the ffxiv jobs of what our abilities are in the game and that would be the endwalker jobs video^^
For free. It's nuts.
Really hoping to see some more Final Fantasy games show up on the channel.
If you guys are gonna play a final fantasy game I’d recommend 16. It’s got heavy game of thrones influences especially at the beginning and it’s the most visually stunning.
Hmm. You know how to hook us with a GOT influence 😯🤔
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames You watched a trailer on it about a year ago. It's got a bunch of ease of access stuff to allow you to enjoy the story and gameplay. Plus it's got a doggo companion
For FFXIV, the teaser trailers and full trailers are just different variations of the same trailer. Launch Trailers are a totally separate thing. We'll see the Dawntrail Launch Trailer drop sometime in the next month.
Trust me, he's had worse things get on that armor than water💀
Sounds like you guys could use a tropical pineapple drink adventure together.
We just had one this past weekend! And it was amazing and much needed 🤩🍹🥳
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames yay, that's good to hear!
man, i would love seeing the two of you play this game together. :) I won't be holding my breath on that. It's quite the time commitment. But this is the game that got me out of my depression and changed how I see life. It's amazing.
Is it just me or does the main character look like Orlando Bloom from Pirates of the Caribbean in this?
Haha, we could see that. In previous versions we thought he looked like Pretty Boy Norman Reedus 🤗
If you guys ever want to get into the lore of final fantasy 14 there's a youtube channel called synodic scribe who has lore videos for the different classes, races, characters, and locations, he's really good so I recommend giving him a watch.
Here's a pretty decent idea for a reaction video: look into the job actions trailer for Endwalker, it will give you a glimpse into the animations for all the different playable jobs
Dawntrail is going to be the biggest expansion yet, as far as content goes.
I can't wait 😊
Well yeah it's going to be huge. It is starting us off on the next chapter now that the ten year story ARR to End walker has been telling has come to an end. I can't wait to see where the new story arc takes us.
@@miriamweller812 I don't know if you are being serious, but if you are I have no idea what you are going on about. I have been playing the game since before the WoW streamers came over and I have continued to play the game even now. There is no lie being told to anyone. The devs do care and any ffxiv player will confirm this.
I am hoping this comment is a troll though.
@@miriamweller812 For someone so uninformed and hatefully bias of this game and its developers why do you waste so much time crying about it? It seems like you are in fact a marketing bot, for blizzard.
For real you have made so many comments on this vid alone just as dumb as this one. The game is successful because its good.
No western company would ever be that considerate of the consumer lol. Its kinda sad how desperately you're reaching to be negative. Just play something else lol.
Im sooo excited to play PICTOMANCER (The painter mage)!! Its not been in final fantasy for awhile!!!
Pictormancer only been in Final Fantasy 6. now in FF14. I can't wait for it either :)
You guys should react to Scien’s overview of all the Final Fantasy 14 Jobs!
This isnt the full trailer unfortunately. it's the 2nd out of the 3 they released, each progressing and uncovering extra bits and music having more layers etc. I'd recommend watching the full trailer. Ahhh, i didnt stick around after the trailer to notice you'd also done the full one too. Figured that was talking about it.
Looks like they introduced 2 job classes in this trailer. The dual wielder and the painter.
Those would be Viper and Pictomancer.
I play a female human in this game, and I wear a princess dress glamour skin over top of my armor. So the story I tell myself for headcannon is my character is a princess of the area and she finally gets her obligatory anime beach filler episode after saving the world from nihilistic forces.
Are y’all planning on playing original FFVII or Remake? FFVII was my first FF experience and what got me into the franchise. I’m stoked y’all are headed that way.
I would recommend doing a watch the store of ff 14 the story is very long but worth playing if your in for a grind but amazing story and music
Can't wait for the Female Hrothgar in Dawntrail one in the trailer. My Hrother is Male, a White Tiger with stripes.
seeing how u guys are reacting to ff14 Any chances on your guys playing final fantasy 16
so the new world is essentially north and south america, ffxiv world is loosely based off our own earth, even has similar shapes to the continents
Finally. Female Hrothgar. Now I can play a race that looks awesome in plate without them looking like they are in constant backpain.
i would totally watch you guys play 14. Have you both ever considered it?
FYI they do watch the full trailer
The little squirrel is a nutkin* if you join the game I'll gladly gift one to both of you ❤
Remember when you reacted to Astartes
Well now I reccomend you react to TheParryGod's animations of Half life
He's the "Astartes" to the Half-Life games
If I can throw a suggestion for games to play may I suggest kingdom hearts and telltale's the walking dead
The hooded guy in the first trailer kinda looks like you 😮
i can only recommend you check out some music of ff14 it has some of the best osts
Would be cool if you would both give the game a try, and do not listen to the one troll in the comments.. the game is fantastic I have played for 10 years. Also think you would both enjoy going to one of the fan fests.
You should do the Texas chainsaw massacre game all trailers❤!
They forgot to react to the Pictomancer
I swear to you guys. If you have the time. PLAY THIS GAME.
that's kinda messed up, you reacted to the viper trailer, but not the pictomancer one.
I thought it was weird they reacted to the 2nd teaser trailer and then the full trailer after.
Please react to some more overwatch since it has been a long time since you guys reacted to it and you guys still need to react to season 9 and 10
Hellooo, can u react to the Genshin Arlecchino Character Demo next plss? ^^
Reaccionad al corto animado de arlecchino pls 😭
Oh this is the older trailer😅
Is it me or does she have a goofy eye? 😂😂😂😂
Are you guys going to react to the new popular game Stellar Blade?
Lol Dawntrailer
when are you guys gonna actually play this game? lol
Fair point haha. When we find the time 😜 mmo tough for us because such a time commitment 😅
Imagine actually play the fucking game.
Usual problem as majority of FF14 trailer:
Instead of using it to add to the story, it's just random nonsense.
