The "FREE" time is actually study time. At my school people used the free time to have fun and hang out and it all caught up with them in the end. They were late with assignments and projects and towards the end of the year had melt downs because things had backed up so much that they could not keep up. Time management is everything at university/college. The better and more productively you MANAGE your time, the more ahead of yourself and ultimately successful you will be.
There also needs to be time for friends and relaxing. College can get very stressful and plenty of people can't take the pressure. Not all free time needs to be study time. That makes 0 sense. And she is definitely not all those people you seem to have been watching a lil too closely who turned in their work late.
