I play this somewhat frequently on yucata.de and I share your view. It's a bit light and you really cannot ignore the watering holes. I hope they implement the epansion ebcause I think that will add some longevity and variety to the game. I still think Carcassonne is superior. But I can see you guys liking this better than Carc because Carc is so mean.

I may be tired but I found the whole game a bit hard to follow. Maybe it is because the theme-mechanic connection is a bit off
