Except when you need to transport things in bulk or trailer something, in which case a truck would be the answer.
But for a good, easy daily driver? Miata.
This beauty has been my daily driver for more than a year now and I love every bit of it. The only thing I hate is when the drive ends.

They've nailed the epitome of serious daily British sports-motoring with the N5. It's a reliable, comfortable '70 Elan with '67 TVR looks, performance and airbags. If you stuff it into a wall at 60 kph while texting, you might live with disability limited enough that you can do it again.

I was wondering why that shot looked strange. It's probably because they need a giant piece of plastic with SKYACTIV on it and that is nowhere to be found under the hood of an MX-5.
We’re ready for that RX Vision concept coupe to come to production with the new straight six and dropping the RX badge for something new. Maybe Use “MX” since it’s not a rotary engine. Make it a 4 seater and RWD or AWD. Take my money Mazda 😍
It's such a shame they stopped after MX-5 and MX-6. Wish they had just done some larger GT models with the names MX-7, MX-8 or MX-9. 😥

After a Viper and a 911, tried an MX-5 Club...wow!!! Not underpowered. A pleasure to drive, has all the creature comforts. Maintenance costs are a fraction of the other brands I mentioned.

Placed my order back in January, and the dealership was able to put it in at the beginning of February. It should hopefully be here in late April or early May, just in time for the nice weather where I am!

Was in the exact same situation last year. Took delivery in April ... right before a major Chicago surprise snowstorm, haha. But it saw many summer miles for sure and this summer will be no different.

As a forewarning to all of you, it’s a fantastic car I’ve had since 2017 but keep in mind that space is extremely limited. I am very small (5’1) and I honestly don’t know how anyone else could fit comfy as a daily (mine is a daily). You also need to be aware that driving among all the obnoxiously large vehicles that everyone buys these days can be very dangerous. I’ve had many times where I have almost been side swiped or worse. They DO NOT look for you. Especially the freaking women. And BMWs. Drive very offensively and keep ahead of the traffic and congestion and you should be ok.
I'm 6'4 and I fit just fine. This is not an SUV and I was expecting a different sitting position and I love it
if you can trade in the 2017 one for a newer one with the higher revving more hp engine... *do it*

I just got a 2020 MX-5 RF Grand Touring and I absolutely love it, it is the most amazing car I've ever driven!
I just bought a new 2019 Miata GT blue with tan in manual. It’s my first stick shift car. As I’m learning on it. So far I’m doing okay 👌. I thought I was getting clutch smell all this time . My friend laughed and said no.. it’s new car smell 😂

I drove a friend's 2010 Miata and was instantly in love with the car. My search lasted only a few weeks and I now own a 2016 GT (ND version) that is the most fun I've ever had driving. LIke someone said earlier, do NOT test drive it because you will buy it. Enjoy.

1058kg and 181 hp power to weight wise isn't that far off say... a 5.7 V8 charger or challenger RT which is roughly double the weight and power being close to or over 2000kg depending on trim and only having 8 more hp than what would be double, if you think this car doesn't have enough hp especially now..... idk what to tell you then.

The plastic engine cover is a dead giveaway. The real one is so elegant, shame they don’t show it off.

I LOVE MY ND MIATA
I'm planning on taking my '89 MR2 to auction and using the proceeds as a down payment on a Miata. I thought from the start that 180hp was a good number when the ND first came out and was underwhelmed during my test drive of the 155hp first offering. So now that the Miata has inched closer to the hp/wt ratio of the Lotus Elise I'm ready to buy.
My '89 MR2 is pristine... Has 53K original miles. I am the second owner... Toyota Super Red... T-Top... Leather... Pwr windows/door locks... Cruise. Absolutely no rust and all original except for the wheels which came from the Super Charged MR2 of 1989. Haggerty places the value between $16K-$19K. But even if you were to buy just as a fun machine or for a kid... It would be an amazing and unique value at this price point.

Did you (Mazda) really put an engine cover on for this year? One of the things I like about my 2017 RF is the fact that the engine is what it is - no dumb plastic cover - please tell me that it was a shot of the motor in a different model (Mazda 3) - it looks like it since it appears to be mounted transversely...

Yes that is from a different car. I think they used it because it said "Skyactive" on the engine cover, thereby communicating that Skyactive is an engine technology (a very cool one at that!)

Once lock down ends planned runs ? Scottish 500 ,UK too Montecarlo and UK too Torres Cabrera southern Spain I always avoid boring motorways if possible.

Getting a NC because it's cheaper, but still wanna have a Mazda MX5.
I have 140,000 miles on my NC. The only things I've had to replace apart from fluids were the battery, serpentine belt (at 100K- still looked new!), brakes and tires! still pulls as strong as ever , no leaks or rattles, burns no oil. I live to drive it.
After having also put about 150,000 miles on two NBs, It just gets better, I've become a better more confident driver. You should get the manual tranny, even if you've never driven one, it's so easy to learn with this car.

why can't you bring more club soft tops to socal dealers, all I see is club RF, GS and WAAAAY TOO MANY AUTOMATICS, no wonder sales are down, who wants to buy auto NDs...
Is there a way to swap out the seats for some that fit a taller person? I literally went to test drive one ready to buy but my legs hit the dash. 2019 model.
That's not a seat issue I'm afraid. If you have longer legs you're gonna be struggling in this car no matter what seats you put in.
Casty Play I guess so but I’ve seen people in older models switch the seats and have no problem. I’m not 7’ or nothin lol

I have had gobs more fun in my NC than any motorcycle I've owned. It's fun to go leaning through the corners, but for me, going flat through the corners slipping at the edge of grip is way more fun.
I know people love canyon runs with this thing, but I would have liked to see an electric option anyway. It seems logical considering the other crowd that buy these.

Miatas are wonderful sportscars. Unfortunately, the day of the sportscar is over. Who wants to be riding down the freeway in a 2,500-pound car that is hard for others to see while surrounded by big SUVs, semis, RVs and the like.
The difference in vehicle size is just one issue/concern - the main one for me (although I own a 2017 RF) is all the distracted drivers. I used to commute on a motorcycle so I've seen some stuff man.... I drive my MX-5 much the same way I used to ride - head on a swivel and assume people cannot see me (with the car's color being a dark gray that can sometimes look like pavement) it's not bad to practice "driving while being invisible".
Also, if you're driving on the "super slab" then you're "doing it wrong" these little cars are best on back roads - hours on a 4-8 lane highway isn't much fun...
Not for freeway, for twisty roads it is made ...

Don't get a Camaro, I have the 2019 Miata, I recommend getting an ND Miata absolutely. It's much smaller than the Camaro, but every ride is just as special. There's something rreally unique about driving this car. It doesn't have crazy horsepower but because it's so lightweight it sticks to the ground like no other. Go for style, fun and the unique experience.

a shame it is made for little japanese bodies, i cant fit comfortably in one due to my height. The other issue si that it is so low to the road trucks and suv's may not see you.

What you do
Great. Now, build one with 4 doors, 3 pedals, and a hard roof (hatch or wagon style is okay too) and I'm all in. Sure, the '6 is nice, but dull. You (Mazda) preach all about the thrill of the drive, but really only make/market ONE car that embraces this philosophy at its core. Put more driving feel (and excitement) in your '6 (all cars really) and I will return.
It's impossible to fully put the Miata philosophy into a car with 4 doors
@@masoncassell7472 ...how close was the RX-8? Yes, the rotary made it unique/special; but the chassis was praised for great handling. Why can't the RX-8 live on as a MX-7/8 with RWD and a traditional piston engine, i.e the 2.5t. It would be at a price point near Stingers, G70s, and similar RWD, 6spd cars; which there aren't many of, so it would be very visible in a not-so-crowded segment
@@K03sport The NC basically has the RX8 chassis. For half the cost of a Stinger you could supercharge an NC (already a very spirited car).
Personally, I prefer supercharging to turbo, a more linear throttle response with no lag and no surprise boost mid corner.
High horsepower cars require wider tires, beefier drivetrain etc. - all that adds weight.
There's a reason that Koenigsegg's test driver runs a slightly modded (no forced injection)NC as his track toy.

I heard they went to the NC's transmission due to the increased HP - same as with the 124 - perhaps it was just wishful thinking. I don't autocross / club race mine (2017) so I've not seen any issues.
Scott Warmbier Yes. if you have force induction you’ll need the BBR Adapter kit, NC transmission. and 124 manual rear diff. PIA to do. IMO, at this point Walter

#mazdacx5 is way lower than many competent option one can have. I have one and all claims of milage and service is fake and wrong. Its engine is also not as par with others - their business is focused on salesman- they sell. I prefer users to try Honda, Nissan and Hundai before jumping into iver priced and hyped Mazda CX 5

@@CygnusVoyager Any 5, company and technology is same , dealership syndrome is same - methodology of sales is same but buyer should do home work that #mazda can not , haven't beaten #honda #nissan #hyundai yet. Mazda engines are not as good as others have.and above all mazda is over priced
