I dont comment much on youtube. But this channel has pretty much singlehandedly taught a newbie to the hobby everything he knows. Thank you for doing what you do. Awesome content as always!
As a dark angels player I personally like to go for the theme if it has plasma it’s probably in the army, a lot of terminators and knightly units like blade guard
My First Born Dark Angels are built around plasma. Literally every unit that can have plasma does! Tactical squads with a plasma cannon, plasma gun and sergeant with plasma pistol. Dreadnought? Yeah, that’s got a plasma cannon. Company vets (obviously no longer usable) all with combi plasma guns. Even the Devasator squad has four plasma cannons and a sergeant with a combi plasma! This build goes back to the one and only time DA were actually good with the Weapons from the Dark Age strat.
I started in 9th - and could see the writing on the wall for firstborn - so just focused on primaris greenwing. Have a 2k force of those so far. Now with the new Deathwing releases - I'm happily working on those. I'm guessing 11th ed will come with a Ravenwing refresh - so will likely start on those then (perhaps starting with some primaris stuff beforehand - storm speeders, ATV's etc.). It's all worked out rather well!
I am going for a 2,000 point Inner Circle List. The DeathWing Assault box models, another squad of Terminators, a Land Raider Proteus(Land Raider Proxy), Land Raider Redeemer, six Blade Guard with a Lieutenant with Storm Shield, and a StormRaven. I know it may be a small list, but everything has three plus wounds. The Gunship just because I think it looks cool, probably one of my favorite models right now.
StormRavens are excellent this edition, they're great transports. Though, I'd recommend maybe dropping the extra termie squad for a Venerable Dreadnought. Excellent melee, good enough ranged weaponry, and cheap enough that it can take the squad's place. Plus, Storm Ravens can transport Dreadnoughts _alongside_ any units within (and with a transport capacity of 12, you're gonna be putting a LOT of guys in there)
No, you will want to use that Time Machine to go back to 8th edition and the one and only time Dark Angels were actually good thanks to plasma shenanigans and Azrael’s ability to regenerate CP. I really enjoy this channel, also. I am also starting Dark Angels in 10th. They were my army way back in 2nd edition, but I've been playing Ultramarines since 98 or so. The dark Angel death wing knights could be painted to look like epic Black Templar terminators . You could do that too . I would do the swap myself as a DA and Custodes player .
When GW gets around to the Ravenwing, I hope they do a veteran Bike kit in the vein of the Sternguard or Vanguard and an upgrade sprue to Dark Angel it. I think it's the only way they could balance it. If some of the features are available to all Marines and then a bit of plasma on top for the DA.
It’s odd to me that the Dark Angels have no unique green wing models. Weirdly enough the majority of their unique models seem to be ravenwing. The chapter is supposed to have lots of plasma, and melee. Kind of wish we got some “normal space marine”models to reflect that. Could give them more of a DA flair as well with hoods and robes.
Because Greenwing always has been the "vanilla" part of them, even during the heresy. I hope now that the Lion is back, we get back other wings of the Hexagrammaton .. Dreadwing used to be the "forbidden weaponry" Wing, There's potential for big plasma shennanigans

The only reason I, who have literally the exact same set of minis, aren't getting the combat patrol is because of the ten intercessors. I'd be better off getting something like the Blood Angels box which fills out the other five but doesn't leave me extra, and getting a set of ten hellblasters separately, I think. How about the real Loyalists ? @Auspex Tactics, how about planning a Fallen army ? DA never speak of them yet are always chasing them. GW have made them integral to the DA backstory but the DA Codex and the CSM Codex ignore them bar a paragraph or two.
The loyal Brethren need to be able to respond to Azrael's lies. Luthor held Caliban while Jonson went seeking personal glory. Yet he is called the traitor.
There's many lore arguments as to whether Fallen even get access to Primaris. So what minis do we get ? First Born are on their way out and HH minis aren't recognised in 40K. The only Fallen applicable box is the SM DA Veteran box.
Fallen is covered so badly, they're tabled to be played as anything a player wants, from regular SM to absolutely any chapter of CSM.
We need conformity.
We need an army.
We need revenge !

I thought about changing to Dark Angels but my favourite unit is Flamestorm Aggressors and as I understand it the Dark Angels dont like the primaris
Dark angels actually like them it's just that they were reluctant at first to let them into their inner circle
Eh, it’s fine. Let them in.
How to start a Dark Angels army:
Don't.
