Aaron, you bring a needed new edge to this industry. I think your knowledge and talent is amazing. I can't wait until your own line is readily available in the U.S. You are developing a great following.
Thank you for your kind words. I wouldn’t do the US till I have a supply chain that’s in place. So that’s more people to pack. People to do the orders. Has to be done right.
It seems like the men get all the good fragrances which is why I buy what I like regardless of the gender the scent was intended for. This scent sounds wonderful!
I don’t think we inherently get better fragrances as men, I just think what is marketed or what is labelled for women happens to all be fragrances that would be culturally considered more feminine, and also partially due to the fact that most perfumers happen to be male so their “male noses” might have idiosyncratic biases towards certain scents. Opposed to that assumption, it could possibly take more female perfumers to allow for a more diverse market for female fragrances rather than the current male dominated perfumery industry to continue to design fragrances that they might perceive women would want to wear or what they personally find attractive on a woman themselves. I’m sure if most perfumers were women men would be in a similar situation as yourself. Or maybe women in general are just more mainstream and men enjoy standing out more and the market reflects that. Edit: Either way wear what you want.
I suggest you try vintage Tabu. Really gorgeous. Do not try the spray. Go for the small Violin bottle . The vintage ones are best. You can also try - Paco Rabanne La Nuit - Schiaparelli Shocking - Youth-Dew - Guerlain Shalimar - YSL Opium vintage For more modern tastes try - YSL Black Opium Over Red - YSL Black Opium Extreme - DG Devotion - Chanel Mademoiselle edp - Arianna Grande Cloud edp
Favorite review by far! One of my most treasured fragrances. Usually wear it during fall and get heavy compliments. I love leaving a scent trail with the wind. I feel like a beautiful skunk. Haha.
Happy new year 🎉 Black Afgano is my scent of the night here in north Sweden in pitch dark and cold weather .I let it settle before going to dinner 👍🏻 Sorry for my bad english 😃
I enjoy your reviews immensely! I found out about you from Chris, at FragMental. I wish you much success! The last several months have been very rough, dealing with depression. I don't really want to keep going. I'm finishing up a divorce of a 30+ year marriage, and your videos, believe it or not, one of the very few things that I get joy from. Happy New Year! Peace be with you and yours.
Aaron I never get tired of watching you, I am a fan of a lot of fragances reviewers and I can tell you that you are unique and brilliant, a real unicorn. There is nobody out there like you, and you will grow exponentially. I saw your videos with Chris and I am addicted to your reviews now!!!!
Another outstanding review Aaron!! Keep using a heavy hand on those tester strips!💪 The unicorn was unleashed! 🦄🦄 The idea about having viewers provide the samples for review is excellent. Thank you for the reviews and have a happy new year!
Keep up the great work, Aaron. After watching you on Fragmental, I've genuinely started to reassess what I want from fragrances. No more safe, boring scents for me! I agree with so much that you say, so cheers for opening my eyes a bit.
I'm not sure I'll be able to purchase any fragrance in 2020 unless it's ATH approved. I'm fervently hoping your fragrances will be available in North America in the new year! ❤️
Fantastic review! Love it when you get the "tingles"! The f*ck 'em face you make when you spray the tester strip and rub the fragrance is epic! Keep shining like a diamond!
I own this one . Agree with your review besides : this projects like crazy for me. 1-2 sprays no more. This is a love or hate fragrance for most people I know. Not an everyday fragrance for me but I love it.
I'm on a quest for a new signature fragrance and as I have a darker type of personality I knew this had to be one of my choices for testing. I can't escape the feeling this scent is so familiar to me - as if it was mine in a previous life ;) I associate it with a certain type of people - artists, free spirits, closed in their atelier with all the magical objects they use in their art. I can't quite get how people may like it as an office scent for those who wear suits and formal attire but hey, fragrance is such a personal thing. For me it projects just perfectly and as I was trying it for the first time watching your review I could easily catch all the facets of this scent - thank you for being such a generous teacher, Aaron. I think Black Afgano will definitely stay with me as this cozy familiar feeling I get with it makes me feel happy, calm, self-confident and fills me with some kind of sensual excitement at the same time.
I always have to smile when I watch your videos. Whether it's something I love and you hate (and sometimes that hurts very much) or everybody hates it, I love it and you do too, which is the best feeling in the world. You always give me a different perspective on things, which always makes me think "How did I not think of that?" Black Afgano was said to be ridiculously strong, offensive, almost skanky and weird and while the last one I can agree on, I find it to be soft and inoffensive as well, just like you said! I thought my nose was broken or something but I'm so glad I'm not alone with this. There are so many fragrances I wish you would review next and I never cared about anyone else's opinion before. But this time I actually do a lot and I'm excited to see what's next. Your taste is amazing and the way you describe fragrances is as well. Unlike anything I've ever heard before! Can't wait to try your own fragrance line, unfortunately that'll have to wait until summer or something as I don't have 200 pounds left to spend on samples. But if I could, yours would be the first ones I'd go for!
I wore this today, incidentally. Few sprays in the morning and I still smell it as a skin scent now, at 7pm. Something strange happened to me for the first time today: I was sitting down in a public space around 3pm and all of a sudden I smelled an amber scent, similar to Dior Ambre Nuit, but stronger. I thought someone had entered the room and I started smelling around until I realized it was still me! First time I get amber from Black Afgano and strangely it went away after a while! I know fragrances don’t really work this way and I cannot really explain it, but I know what I smelled. I own three more Nasomatto and I love them all.
I have the Black Afghano, Eau de parfum. Your description is very useful to understand the fragrance released in the rounds of smells. Vanilla is prominent and keeps the role of a second skin. Cannabis releases a shut of energy and power. It's a parfum for elevation of self-confidence. It deserves all the money! Thank you for your well presentation. 🎉
Followed from Fragmental....Absolutely love the review....Really enjoy your perspective and expertise...Been looking at this one for awhile....hearing your depth and explanation of the notes your smelling is really intriguing....The fragcom has needed this type of review.....Well done mister 🍻 thank you.
Black Afgano was my first blind buy from Nasomatto. First spray was so confusing but 2,3rd OH BOY I'm in love! From then it's alway on my shelf. Try it on wormer days, just a little. It opens and smell beautifully.
Literally just sprayed my tester sample due to this review, it’s absolutely amazing. The cannabis hits you hard for a minute, then it turns tobacco-ey, then settles with incense oud mix, can tell it will last long and smells great, defo unisex, mrs isn’t a fan but genuinely love it can’t stop smelling the bottle. It just smells expensive. Got TF oud wood and creed royal oud, black afgano stands out
one of my wish for years. i think you just make it clear: i m gonna need this juice hahahah thank for your work. the new music in the background is sexy AF
Great review. I hate the smell of weed but I love how this fragrance smells. I think it is different, special and outstanding without being obnoxious or overpowering.
I don't like over the top people when it feels forced and fake, but people who are a little different and genuine are great. So I'm digging these reviews both for the content and character
I made sure to have my sample ready to experience along with you Aaron, and it was a fantastical journey! This is one of 3 recent fragrance experiences that have expanded my olfactory palate, along with The Moon and Diaghilev. Mr Hughes you have rapidly ascended the ranks to the #1 fragrance reviewer on social media IMO. Thank you!!!
So nice watching your reactions on smelling this for the first time Aaron; I know exactly what you mean about the human quality in Black Afgano, although you’re the first reviewer I’ve ever heard describe it as light😄 Congratulations also on getting your channel up and running this year, you’ve definitely hit the ground running and I look forward to more from you in 2020!🙏🎉😊
This was the first super unique thing I ever tried, and did love it. Definetly another one of them that fueled my love of this world 😍 glad you like it. Another absolutely fantastic review. You actually don't know what you're missing till it comes along and having a reviewer with your knowledge and passion and honesty is a wonderful thing to happen ❤️🦄
Ow nice review!! I was curious about that one! Absolutely loved all your videos of this year, wish you a great happy new year and rest well! Look forward to see your next videos and creations next year! You are the best Aaron!! Thank you so much for all that amaizing work and content! 🦄 unicorn gang for life!
I like how you spray lots on the strips, Aaron! It's like having a big bite of that juicy burger and savouring the taste over having little tiny pecks. When I'm smelling frags, I like having my senses assaulted (for better or worse)
Wow excellent now I wanna try this just for your amazing review I hear is like láudano Nero from tiziana terenzi and the dry down like fate from amouage that is challenging but I love that fragrance maybe will have my taste :)
When I saw you were trying Black Afghano I was very happy and when I saw your face when you first smelled it I was smiling from ear to ear because I also love it and I also one that doesn’t think it’s too much like a lot people think, maybe due to reformulation, but the bottle I have is amazing to me. Now that we seem to be on the same page with this one I’ll definitely have to try your work some day. Keep the reviews coming, you are becoming one of my favorite!
I over sprayed this one and a lady behind a plexiglas cubicle said, "Man! What are you wearing!? It's so strong! It's good but powerful!" 😂 I did 6 sprays (chest, back of neck, wrists, inner elbows)
Another great video Aaron, so pleased you like this Cos I like the fragrance and by killian do some great fragrances , still enjoy watching you break it down and how it unleashed the unicorn and made you tingle 👏👏🦄
I thought so, you definitely have specific taste. Basically, crap is crap and well made frags get the credit they deserve. Simple. Will be looking for a sample if this, thanks Aaron. 🦄gang
I♥️Black Afgano. It’s for my own personal enjoyment fragrance. I wore it to work once and it was too bold & inappropriate for an office type environment. Although I oddly enjoyed sniffing myself in my design work space, I don’t think I’ll do that again. I appreciate the artistry behind Nasomatto’s work. The cannabis balsamic notes with oud is dark unique & intriguing to my olfactory senses. Not too many will appreciate it, but I’m so glad you happily enjoyed it too. Hoorahhh👌🏼🦄♥️
Cause of that frag I started with niche fragrances. The perfumer Alessandro Gualtieri seems to be a very, very nice person. I've watched the movie "The Nose - Searching for Blamage" about him and his work (he was traveling and sniffing at a cadaver of an animal -- the scent of that inspiration is called "Bergamask" -- Mask means the smell of a fresh killing I guess). I would love to ship you a sample for a review next year cuz I like the idea very much that we provide the samples. Thank you for your awesome channel on YT. My favorite reviewer and such a lovely person. All the best for 2020 for you, Aaron! One Luv
I love Black Afgano. I had it at work a few weeks ago. A walked a long hallway and got to my room. My coworker who i havent seen me could follow my scent trail :-)
There's others out there that are like Black Afgano. I consider BA to be a dark woody, so the following mentioned will be dark woodies. Francesca Bianchi's Dark Side. Carner Barcelona Cuirs . Just seen this review a bit late I’m afraid I love how heavy your fragrances are as are most of your customers I’d guess keep it strong & long lasting & I’m sure you will succeed in you quest as I’m sure most want long lasting hard projecting fragrances
Im a 43 yr old woman in hot and humid bombay. I broke my nasomatto virginity with black afgano and oh my god it smells so good, so sultry, so calming. Hate to say its worth the money. Now whether its nauseating to ppl around me, i honestly dont care. Please help me decide my next buy - i keep going back and forth between baraonda and pardon. Thx
I just picked this up .. not quite sure where I’m at with it (being my first cannabis fragrance) the cannabis is very prominent to me right now from top to bottom to the dry down & I cannot detect the other notes yet. It’s very green to me. That said I’m going to continue wearing it, lighten up the application in the event I’m over-spraying. I was also initially unsure about Tobacolor .. it was my first tobacco fragrance & now I love it. So I’ll stay in tuned with my higher self & see what develops 🤣🤣
Love your work! I'm thinking of your very interesting Deviant... never smelled any of Nasomatto before, I'm just using my imagination from your description... lots of love 🥰🦄🍒 xx
You’re telling me Black Afgano is a lighter version of your work? Goodness, I swear nothing I have tested projects like Black Afgano, I literally control the atomiser for half a spray on my collarbone and my wrist and everyone notices it (and loves it and I have bought a bottle as a birthday present for a Friend) my 30ml bottle from 2011 is still with me.
I completely agree. I have a version from 2011 too and it's still 3/4 full. It's SO strong. Half a spray is more than enough, anything more and you suffocate every room.
The new samples of black afgao are a light blue, they completely changed the colour in the reformation. It now looks purple in the full bottle ans blue in a sample bottle
I love seeing Aaron excited about a fragrance. "Fantastical!"
Aaron, you bring a needed new edge to this industry. I think your knowledge and talent is amazing. I can't wait until your own line is readily available in the U.S. You are developing a great following.

That fragrance just sounds like an amazing orchestra....the way you describe it is fabulous
Your reasoning for discovering new fragrances is what I resonate with the most. I’m excited to try this house.
I absolutely love this fragrance, it's one of my all time favourites. I wore it so much this winter, it makes me feel good and confident.

Incense when done right and blended well is one of my favorite accords.
I am thrilled if your creations are stronger then Nasomatto. This pne was more potent when it was released it was diluted.. 100% agree with you.

love all your reviews ,,,, looking forward to trying a few from your collection.. Thanks
❤️amazing ...love from Mongolia!
I remember watching this the first time, love this one!
I imagine this would project excellent and gain a dirty side with Animalix! Great review my friend.
I think Aaron is going to like this...? **hits play** 🦄gang
I love this fragrance but I feel I can only wear this in October. Kinda a Halloween frag. If a vampire wore perfume this would be it.
I'd love you to rate the PARFUM DE MARLY lineups, HEROD, PEGASUS, LAYTON, GODDEPHINE, love your channel
I'm thinking of your very interesting Deviant... never smelled any of Nasomatto before, I'm just using my imagination from your description... lots of love 🥰🦄🍒 xx
nice one. If I may, i think you should cite the name of the perfumer in your review...
This is in my top 3 of my collection. I have 40 fragrances? 🤔 I love this, it may be number 1!
I love this too. One of my absolute favourites
The new samples of black afgao are a light blue, they completely changed the colour in the reformation. It now looks purple in the full bottle ans blue in a sample bottle
This sounds like it would go great with your Anamalix to give it that projection it needs.
Great review again mate, nicely made fragrance
