I have the same H3000 model you do, except mine was manufactured in April of 2002, and it also has that red circular Hoover logo up where you like it. Looks like you had the lid properly on the Recovery Tank (lower tank). My FloorMATE has those same gaps which I also caused me to question its assembly. As far as using a carpet cleaner with the unit, I don't know. However, the unit is not designed to be used on carpet, hence I would normally say, "No, do not use the carpet cleaner in the FloorMATE." Yet, you did state that you were not going to use it on carpet, but instead just tiled and other hard floors. As you had pointed out from the bold text on the Clean Solution Tank, one can use Machine Formula LYSOL Floor Cleaning Concentrate for vinyl, ceramic and other tiles, and linoleum. Obviously, Machine Formula OLD ENGLISH Wood Floor Cleaning Concentrate is used for laminate wood, polyurethane sealed wood, or other wood floors that can normally be cleaned using water. Apparently, both of the aforementioned detergents have been specifically formulated to resist excessive foaming and other undesirable effects when used in your FloorMATE Cleaner, whatever those may be. Additionally, do not use detergents that contain pine or solvent based ingredients. Do not use any type of wax in your cleaner. However, it does state in the user manual, "For best results, use 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 when cleaning floor surfaces such as vinyl, ceramic and other tiles, and linoleum. 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 has been tested and approved for diluted use with "FloorMATE". I had a Hoover floormate it was my grandmas she uses it for her floors she has tiles she had the new model floormate it is the Hoover floormate deluxe it got messed up we bought a Hoover power dash hard floor cleaner and it didn’t suck up water and then we returned the Hoover power dash hard floor cleaner now we might order the Hoover floormate deluxe
Well I’ve never seen a belt on one before and I never had to replace one on a floor mate before and i don’t wanna take the risk of breaking it I’m sorry

So the brushes do not spin on mine, I see there is a replacement belt available.... how do you install it?? Please advise, thank you!!
