Thanks, The Razer Edge can only output 1080p, not because of HDMI (HDMI 1.4 can support a maximum resolution of 3840 × 2160p) The most likely factor of the 1080p limitation is the video card.
Wonderful review, I am truly pleased as a viewer by the overall quality of the way the video has been put together, great job keep up the amazing work bro.
f that is the case then they may have just limited the output. I won't be taking this one apart, don't have a budget big enough to replace it, if I break it in the process haha.
well i don't think you can compare this to a ps4 because the ps4 will be coming at the end of this year and it's a non-portable console. but if i were you i would wait for the ps4.
Really interesting, but too pricey. I could get a Wii U, a laptop, a desktop and still have money left over for a bag of chips for what this cost. Still, pretty unique. A great review.
Finally I good review for this tablet! You just got a new subscriber my friend. I had a question, can the edge , with the dock of course, output a resolution of 2560x1080 for those ultrawide displays or would HDMI be a limiting factor? Thanks in advance.
Online I read that 600m GPUs can output a resolutions up to 4k, including the 640m left, I assumed they meant with display port. Well I loved your review, any chance you'll be taking this thing apart? Lol I want to see if I can put in a 480gb msata, but I'm afraid there won't be room inside because they are thicker
You connect it like you would on a computer either using the wireless dongle that microsoft sells or using a wired one that will work natively. You can also use a ps3 if you don't mind buying a 10$ bluetooth dongle for it of course you also need the dock, because of it's usb 2.0 ports, or you can bank on the usb3.0 that I believe is backwards compatible with 2.0, you just will not have room for anything else that needs usb.
Nice review, dude. This is the first time I've ever heard of you. Subscribed! :D Definitely would buy this thing if it supported at least 720 pixels vertical and had a slide-out keyboard. Maybe gen 2, who knows? :P power 2 u
It stands on its own coz of the unique gaming experience it delivers. Niche product for sure just like the razer blade with its unique blend of slim form factor, power and build quality.
You think I should get the razer edge when I already got a GT70 (17inch)? these are the specifications: CPU: The latest 3rd generation Intel® Core i7 Processor OS: Windows 7 Chipset: Intel HM77 Chipset Memory: DDR3 16GB LCD Size: 17.3" Anti glare full HD 1920x1080 Graphics: nVIDIA Geforce GTX670M 3D Graphic Card Graphics VRAM: GDDR5 3GB HDD (GB): 750GB SATA 7200 RPM HDD, 120GB SSD
im just really surprised that this thing that almost have the same spec as my m14x r1 can't play most of the games on high at resolutions of at least 1600x900? And u keep saying u'll have to set the settings to 'low'? I never set my games to low on my m14x. And mine graphic card is only gt555m. Im just curious why this is so?
I have a question...I have pre-ordered a Razer Edge Pro but with h 256 gig SSD...I was curious should cancel my order and just get me a nice gaming laptop instead? I would rather spend money more wisely Hehe...And thanks for the awesome review :)
gaming wise how long do you think this will last with all the new consoles coming out such as the ps4 do you think it would be able to keep up because if i am about to spend around $1700 for this thing I want it to last
You could buy tablet only, then find a cheap usb 3.0 dongle that has a HDMI port at the end of it, also find and buy tablet covers that also turn into a stand, and lastly if you already have a ps3 or xbox controller then you are good to go until you have enough money around to get the game pad with the extra battery life.
What a complete and nice review, congratz man!! awesome job, IMHO this tablet is not for everyone, I consider it a complementary piece of gear, I mean, If you have a nice gaming PC or laptop, AND if you have the money to buy this expensive toy, then go for it, this is not for everyone, I want one for myself but wanna wait for second generation (maybe full HD screen is coming next), Great review...
I have saved up some money for a looooooooong time and i dont really know should i wait for steambox or ps4 or should i buy edge or a gaming pc for about 1000$
Hey majid! I am planning on grabbing an edge, and im just wondering, can that tablet be charge thru its usb port? i am going on a trip via plane and on that plane, power outlets are not available so i bought a battery pack but im kinda curious if it can be charged thru the usb port. thanks!
Any thoughts one the nvidia gt 740m for gaming? I've got my eye on a highend hp 17" HP envy with 16gb ram, 4th gen i7 4700k quad core with ips 1920x1020. I can actually get it for £1000 instead of 1.3k. Worth it? I like to game but don't want to carry an alienware around because I'm 32 and it just draws too much attention 'p
nice video, have you played any mmo on this bad boy?i'm thinking of buying this but only if it can run mmos,BTW can you use USB dongle for internet connectivity? Thanks
POWERBUT You are an idiot, this is meant to be a TABLET, not a PC. It is meant for you to play actual PC games without having the comfort of your desktop. Please shut up.
***** Here's the thing, to fix some issues, for example the 1 usb slot, there's adapters that go +in the usb port to allow you to have 4 more extra ones like a hub, and there's also usb adapters for an sd card to usb if you didn't know, i mean your on the internet, everyone should know about all the adapters that happen to have been created by now like seriously, there's even adapters for nes controllers to usb and stuff like that, if there's something that you dont see thats missing from that tablet, there's an adapter for it.
I can totally understand the want for an SD card slot but for an ethernet cable port? Eh, It's a tablet/laptop. The only kind of computer I really use an ethernet port for is my desktop. I just kind of figure I don't mind the lack of one is due to the fact that's portable with a built in wifi adaptor. It's not too important on my list.
The price is a little weird of a complaint for the $999 version for me. There are TONS of ultrabooks that use the same processor, have a touchscreen and have worse intel hd graphics that are more than $1250 (the base tab+gamepad.) there aren't many complaining abou the MacBook air's price, or the Samsung ativ tablet's price, even though they are similar price point with worse graphics and same everything else.
You keep saying it's expensive and heavy compared to competition when actually it's really not. You have to compare it against other win8 tablets; not win8 RT, android and ipad. Surface pro will set you back almost as much and weighs about the same, as does the sony duo 11, but they both rely on the intel HD 4000 for their graphics. Can you point to any sub 1kg (admittedly more with the control) device that comes anywhere close to doing what this tablet does for less money? :)
1366x768 is very much acceptable. I don't know if you have used any of the other competing windows 8 tablets that do run at 1920x1080 but even if you haven't you should know the smaller the screen the lower the resolution has to be to present an acceptable experience. On a 10.1 inch screen the Razer Edges resolution is fine and should give you great visuals compared to any other monitor at it's native resolution.
well there's a difference , this device is a ( mini sized ) laptop , and what you are talking about is a graphic for desktop pcs , this device you can take it anywhere easily , and its looks nearly like ipad or android devices .
No, sir. Your MSI spec already beat razer edge pro in many ways. The only downside is that your laptop is not portable, but razer edge pro portability relied on game pad on most game. You just have to buy a wireless game pad, connect your laptop to a big screen and you are set. Any game with same setting as the edge pro, but with better fps.
Then I wish you have a merry time with it, bro. As for this tablet, If you have the money then you should rather consider buying this instead of ipad and MS surface tablets, and you'll witness a whole new experience and that's what actually matters. Having something completely out of the box. It's the first GAMING TAB and innovation never fails to excite. Lastly, with DDR4 RAM, 5200 Iris pro iGPU and Maxwell architechture which havs a gr8 performance/Watt rating, Things are likely to change.
The difference between the regular and the pro Razer Edge is, as far as I know, the processor in the pro is more powerful (core i7 instead of a core i5) and the GPU has 2 GB of ram instead of just 1 GB furthermore I believe that the ssd hard drive is only 64GB in the regular and 128 or 256 GB in the pro. Im sure 64GB becomes too little space very quickly, with a windows system and windows games
If you are going to buy something that expensive then you might want to go for another product they sell called the Razer Blade or the Razer Blade Pro. (And I know I spelled Razor wrong it's the product name)
hey I may be real dumb but can somebody explain to me why now we call desktop pc? and laptops laptops?. PC means portable computer right? so a pc should be a laptop not a desktop. Or is it because in the 19's desktop where super huge and now the as small as you can put them in a car and do a LAN party? I'm really confused
This is different from a laptop. It's tablet design with unique controller setup makes it interesting to me. You should be able to hook your laptop up to a big LED TV, get better gaming performance, and use a good wireless mouse or mouse and keyboard, but not the portability of the tablet. You'd need money to burn though.
Thanks, The Razer Edge can only output 1080p, not because of HDMI (HDMI 1.4 can support a maximum resolution of 3840 × 2160p) The most likely factor of the 1080p limitation is the video card.
Very good review. Me and my buddy were having some deep conversations while watching the video. Made me subscribe. Good work man.
Wonderful review, I am truly pleased as a viewer by the overall quality of the way the video has been put together, great job keep up the amazing work bro.
f that is the case then they may have just limited the output. I won't be taking this one apart, don't have a budget big enough to replace it, if I break it in the process haha.
In this video i had the eclipse light touch wired keyboard
I've noticed that win 8 with 12" touch screen size is comfortable , less than that size you must focus on some buttons
well i don't think you can compare this to a ps4 because the ps4 will be coming at the end of this year and it's a non-portable console. but if i were you i would wait for the ps4.
I like that there is a GT40 as a wallpaper on the screen in the background.
Really interesting, but too pricey. I could get a Wii U, a laptop, a desktop and still have money left over for a bag of chips for what this cost. Still, pretty unique. A great review.
Given it's GPU, don't you think that the 1366x768 screen would provide better performance than it would with a 1080p dispay? Especially with gaming.
yes, i have a usb adapter so my xbox contoller can work with my pc.
Finally I good review for this tablet! You just got a new subscriber my friend. I had a question, can the edge , with the dock of course, output a resolution of 2560x1080 for those ultrawide displays or would HDMI be a limiting factor? Thanks in advance.
Dude great vid you should do review on which is better the nvida SHeild or the razer edge pro
PsVita XL?
Except 10X as powerful
***** That and it run ALL PC games.
Well yeah ALL, but think of Next Gen/2014 and + Games. All GTX 600m Series graphics cards cannot handle the new games.
did you test the device with some programs like 3ds max , flash and video editors ?
a review with a lot of detailed comments. Very very useful.
Was wondering are u able to get a pc game in a another laptop and put it into the tablet?
You connect it like you would on a computer either using the wireless dongle that microsoft sells or using a wired one that will work natively. You can also use a ps3 if you don't mind buying a 10$ bluetooth dongle for it of course you also need the dock, because of it's usb 2.0 ports, or you can bank on the usb3.0 that I believe is backwards compatible with 2.0, you just will not have room for anything else that needs usb.
Does the tablet fall off if you use it with controller in bed reclining? I mean anything over 90 degrees angle.
I've got a question, do you require any thing specific for the keyboard and mouse to work?
is it possible to use a regular xbox controller on the edge without a cronus or something of that nature?
I just bought one can't wait to get it.
Nice review, dude. This is the first time I've ever heard of you. Subscribed! :D
Definitely would buy this thing if it supported at least 720 pixels vertical and had a slide-out keyboard. Maybe gen 2, who knows? :P
power 2 u
I think that the sd card slot is not any problem because you can buy a 500 gb external hdd for a decent amount
It stands on its own coz of the unique gaming experience it delivers. Niche product for sure just like the razer blade with its unique blend of slim form factor, power and build quality.
What keyboard do you use? Is the charging cable USB or socket?
Completely unrelated, but can you connect a standard xbox 360 controller via bluetooth or the likes to a pc?
saw it in the vid.
You think I should get the razer edge when I already got a GT70 (17inch)? these are the specifications:
CPU: The latest 3rd generation Intel® Core i7 Processor
OS: Windows 7
Chipset: Intel HM77 Chipset
Memory: DDR3 16GB
LCD Size: 17.3" Anti glare full HD 1920x1080
Graphics: nVIDIA Geforce GTX670M 3D Graphic Card
Graphics VRAM: GDDR5 3GB
HDD (GB): 750GB SATA 7200 RPM HDD, 120GB SSD
Did you use a xbox 360 controller at 3:47???

This is a pretty comprehensive review. Thanx Majid!

I love your tv, what is it called?
it is possible to connect a keyboard and mouse?
What kind of laptop can i get for around the same price and with equal or better performance?
I have saved up some money for a looooooooong time and i dont really know should i wait for steambox or ps4 or should i buy edge or a gaming pc for about 1000$
How much battery life does it have
Hey majid! I am planning on grabbing an edge, and im just wondering, can that tablet be charge thru its usb port? i am going on a trip via plane and on that plane, power outlets are not available so i bought a battery pack but im kinda curious if it can be charged thru the usb port. thanks!

do you need the gamepad controller?
no. not sure what you mean though cuz your running windows on this tablet.
How do you connect the xbox controller to it ?
can it play every game that exists ?
Does your desktop has 2 hours battery life ?
nice video, have you played any mmo on this bad boy?i'm thinking of buying this but only if it can run mmos,BTW can you use USB dongle for internet connectivity? Thanks
Just build a PC, a $400 PC can do the same thing as the high end model. Hell, an $700 laptop could lol.
sure can.... it is a pc actually...
POWERBUT You are an idiot, this is meant to be a TABLET, not a PC. It is meant for you to play actual PC games without having the comfort of your desktop. Please shut up.
ReecesPeaces actually microsoft categorized their windows tablet as smart pc...

Please, does anyone know where I can get a charger
Did steam avlable in raze edge pro
could you downlode pc programs in the razor like anti virus and word and other programs
Can you buy it yet?
Hi Majid can you test Razer edge pro with Minecraft and shader mod and show the FPS ??? Please :)
Couldn't you with the usb of course just use a external hdd instead of a SD card slot

It's a windows machine, you can easily access C:// via Windows UAC settings without jailbreaking
I want to buy this tablet from u

The English language is weird. We drive in a parkway and we park in a driveway.
Luis Vilella Lol
PC = Personal Computer
Jay Robinson most Desktop are used has group computer right? A laptop is more of a personal computer
No if you have a PC it's personal it's yours

Amazing review \o
not sure, i don't have one.
I would love to have this
Looks amazing but its price makes it really unlikely for me to buy. If it altogether it was 500 or six hundred pounds maybe
