This rush to ban gas appliances is insane. Our electrical grid barely functions as is. Imagine when everybody comes home at 5pm and plugs in their electric cars, runs their electric stovetops and takes a shower using their electric water heater. When we had those brownouts a few years back, it was nice to still have hot water and be able to cook and boil water.
Every gas stove in every restaurant in the US is a gas range any chef or cook worth their salt knows cooking with gas is the best. The amount of hoops that developers have to jump though just to get a project off the ground is one of the major factors in the housing shortage, as well as the high cost of rent, they want to make that money back, they can spend millions in just the process of getting a housing project approved.
"Gas is the best" yeah, go work on a line on a Saturday night with a bunch of gas ranges on and then get back to me. Induction cooks faster, more evenly, and no residual heat.
That Chula vista is going to be interesting and massive. The Hillcrest building apartments will be small but great location. Many years ago I worked and lived in or near Hillcrest.
Gas stoves will eventually go away for all of the reasons you mentioned (and a few more). Great video, Dan! I love that San Diego is building more mixed-use housing, and the micro apartments will appeal to some people.

They need to get rid of those nasty mobile home parks down there and do something with that mall.
