I came here to find my long lost childhood games, and this game was my most favourite with Madagascar 2 (or 3?) and few ice age games. What a good long lost memories :')
This was the only Lego Island game I had when I was younger. Now that I know the original Lego Island was very different than LI2 or Xtreme Stunts, I can still say this one is my favourite. Lego Island is still a great game though. Oh, did anyone have this game on PS2? That's what I had it for.
As a child, I spent hours and hours playing it, I never understood it, I only played because it was lego, now almost 10 years later, I could finally complete it, only now I no longer have ps2 in my hands, much less, I could never find the game, one day I will be able to have it again and go back to those happy moments of my childhood
1:53:43 - That crowd cheering sound effect was also heard in "I Spy School Days," "Pajama Sam: Games to Play on Any Day," "Super Stunt Spectacular" and "Wii Sports."
I'm just amazed at how much they improved over LEGO Island 2 in a whole year. This game is like an alternate dimension where they gave that game much more time in the oven. Kinda sucks how this was their last game too, I would've loved to see how they would evolve. A handful of developers from this studio eventually formed their own company Gusto Games later though so I guess that's good.
1:05:12 - I didn't know that you can talk to people during a timed minigame. It doesn't stop the countdown clock, nor does it make the music fade in and then back out.
It's a shame you cannot explore interiors of buildings like Pepper's house and the Information Center unlike LEGO Island 1 and LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge. Considering the fact this is my all-time favorite LEGO Island series installment, I would have loved to have fun inside those particular buildings in it!
I really feel like I missed out by never getting this game. Sadly I never even heard of it back when it was published. It amazes me this never got a Lego Dimensions pack or two.
So let's see if I can get a few things straight about the Lego Island Trilogy: Lego Island: Play as Pepper, Mama, Papa, Nick and Laura, exploring the island, building vehicles and play lots of games. Pepper's game extends to when the Brickster has escaped Jail and must re-build the helicopter, in order to bring the Brickster to justice Lego Island 2 The Brickster's Revenge: The Brickster has escaped from Jail again and has Deconstructed Lego Island. Pepper must travel through time and space, to get back the pages of the Constructopedia, rebuild the island and re-capture the Brickster. Lego Island Xtreme Stunts: Pepper is starring in the movie "Xtreme Stunts" with the Brickster as the bad guy and after realising the Bricker's plan, Pepper must get to the top of the Brickster's tower to rescue the Infomaniac and stop the Brickster from taking over the world. But how on earth does he appear back on Lego Island, when he was trapped in his own Jail Cell on Ogel, in Space??
This was such an incredible game... and it still is! I invested hours into this game, just roaming around and having the time of my life as a minifig. I remember being amazed that Pepper could actually swim in water (!)...
When I played this, I was glad to see "Enter", "Return" and "Studz Linkin" returned, despite them not being in Lego Island 2, but were on Lego Island 1.
I never played Lego Island 1 when I was a kid (but I found and purchased it at Goodwill in late 2012), so I first saw those characters in this game. After all, I mainly grew up playing this game, plus I also remember playing Lego Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge when it was included in Encore Software's "All Aboard! Kindergaten Adventures" (which also included "Freddi Fish 4," "Reader Rabbit: I Can Read With Phonics!" and "Toy Story 2: Acitivity Center").
No. Jamesster has footage of it if you really want to see it. The only big differences are the lack of fog, the water is flat instead of wavy, the grass is more plain, and the polygons are lower.
I recently loaded this on my Windows 7 machine. I got SO frustrated at how the game would often stop on loading screens, causing me to do Ctrl-Alt-Delete, and how Motorbike Mayhem was frustrating to no end. I don't recall having that much trouble on that as a kid.
No way, this is the best LEGO game ever created, with an amazing island filled with unique characters and awesome scenes. I don't see how this is the worst
*sigh* "Before anyone asks how I got this game to work, I use Windows XP with compatibility set to Windows 98/ME. I didn't do anything else besides that, and from what I know the game refuses to run on Vista and 7. So please don't ask." - The video description.
I doubt this game will be re-released on Steam since Lego always acts like their old video games no longer exist. But I agree that it's really a masterpiece.
One of my favourite childhood games. I never actually got past the barrels at the end, so finally seeing the ending after all this time is just brilliant.
Not to mention that there's a ton of empty space on the island where there could have been buildings. Also, judging by some beta footage in a trailer, the island had several of it's locations swapped during development (for instance, you know that bridge near the construction site that goes over the harbor? Some beta footage shows that Gnarly's skate park was where the studios are now, and that the harbor bridge once connected the small island to the mainland nearby, and another bridge going...
What makes Lego Island 1 the best is unlimited playability; you can truly play that game to your heart's content and never, ever, get bored of it -- it just has that quality. It wasn't really a game, per se, so much as it was a playground (the goal I think) where you can change things and do as you please; the other two games were more like 'games' because they have a beginning and and end, whereas LI1 doesn't really have that. It has that minor plot with the Brickster but that's minor at best.
Well, I quite enjoyed this game and enjoyed making this walkthrough. I don't like the newer games, but City: Undercover at least looks like a step in the right direction. It shows a little promise.
I also like this game a lot since it's the Lego Island series game I mainly grew up with. I do like the newer games, such as "Lego Star Wars: The Video Game," "Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy," "Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga," "Lego Star Wars: The Clone Wars," "Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens," "The Lego Movie Videogame," "Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures," "Lego Batman: The Video Game," and "Lego City: Undercover."
Anyone know how to change the controls to joystick? I want to play with a remote but the only options shown are pizza/skateboard, jump, action but I can't use the stick to move him around??
Once again uploader dood, you really are good at this game and from one cool dood like me telling you that you should walk around with your head held high for months if not years because I am not as good at the game but I am awsome and I think you are too.
For some reason, in my let's play of this game, the music and sound effects were muted during the cutscenes of the Brickster's battle minigame when I played it on my TOSHIBA NB205 laptop with Windows XP Professional SP3 on it. Is there a way to fix that glitch?
@Shiek927 In a way this game is like that too. Yes, it has a plot, but if you just ignore the side quests than this game will be done very quickly. Heck, I could have gone under an hour. But the side-quests make up for it.
i played this game years ago, and never completed it. Because i never looked at the directions on what to do. All i did was run around the play hitting people with pizzas, and every time i went swimming and touching what i think was a swordfish in the water, my game immediately ended or crashed
It's a game made for kids. You're basically comparing a microwave to an Easy-Bake Oven when you brought up Spider-Man and Batman games. Also, I get it that the voices aren't fantastic, but aren't really horrible either. They're better than LI2, to say the least. And yes, I and many others will agree the music was awesome in this game. So, you're pretty much alone on the music point there.
I wish lego still kept making the Island games. Could you imagine a new lego Island game on PS3 or Xbox 360 with updated graphics and online? Brilliant!
Has anyone considered playing through all the levels of the "Trouble in the Store" minigames yet? I could never get past most of them when I was a kid. The first two shouldn't be too hard, but the later levels will be a lot more difficult.
Sweeeeet! Thank you very much! It's going to be very weird watching this, because this is one 90s Lego game (alongside a few others like Rock Raiders) that I never played, a Lego Island game at that, so I'm curious what it would have been like
@TheLairOfRockwhales Meh, that all can depend. Bear in mind that as time moves forward, certain drivers, processors, and many other parts for computers become obsolete, and better ones replace them. Remember the serial, parallel, and floppy disk ports? USB obsoleted all of those. The same happens with games that require outdated things. Sometimes the drivers they require stand the test of time, but other times they vanish. I think some of the files LIXS required must have been changed.
By realistic I mean the graphics. The buildings are scaled properly with the bricks. The characters move and look like real lego people. Foliage is molded properly, etc. Lego Island 2 the houses are out of proportion, the minifigs feel like bendy rubber toys, flat stud textures, cartoony grass and dirt textures. etc.
Man, between the three Lego Island games, Pepper's voice really matured. How old would you think he is in this game? My guess is 16 to 18 in game 3, 12 to 15 in game 2, and 9 to 11 in game 1
I remember when the game stopped working after a certain windows update and I've never been able to play it since. I wonder how people get around the missing textures / loading failures the game has. (yes I do have the original CD) - Does anyone know?
The music is catchy as heck! I have no clue what you're talking about! Also, you don't even have to repeat the stunts this many times. There's two secret trophies on the island as well, not to mention there's a whole crapton of side-quests that I didn't even scratch the surface of. LI2 had more minigames, yes, but they were poorly explained, frustrating, and often boring (coughfishingcough). Honestly, after I played this game, I couldn't stand playing LI2 anymore.

@MegaLink08 thats probably why the driving controls were so crap in LI2. since pepper was younger he had less experience with driving. now he has his own license and is even permitted to be his own stunt double in the movie
ohhh this is gonna be reviewed by some youtuber,he had nightmares after lego island and disliked lego island 2,and this is his next thing.Cant wait! :D

I was like maybe 3/4/5 max 6 years old when I used to play this game... man you can’t never imagine how I loved this, Fun the fact that I never finished the game because too busy to explore every single part of all map.. I remember everything after 15+ years, ost included.. I loved and love this game, was one of the games that I used to replay and replay a lot of times when I was kiddo, it was (and is) one of my favorite game ever ❤️❤️
I remember going into Toys R Us and buying the game as a kid with my parents. God I miss these good days
