[60 FPS] Lego Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge (PC) Walkthrough

- EDIT: Egad I hate the way I wrote this description. I may not have thought the game was good but my comments were totally unwarranted. I'm sorry about that. I have rewritten some of it to make it less brash.
This was a walkthrough I honestly, truly never thought I would remake. However, UA-cam's 60FPS update made me change my mind, so I did it after all. The reason I was so hesitant is because, well, this game is kind of bad. Outside of nostalgia and its awesome musical score, this game is sadly subpar. It's not frustrating to play unlike some other games, but it's pretty clear this game was a victim of tight deadlines. However, I can usually breeze through this game in a day since I played it so much and know it in and out, and it had been a long time so I went ahead and gave it another go.
I cut out all the load times again, though this time I let the fades show up instead of removing all traces of load screens. Some minigames are unmentioned here due to character limits.
Pizza Delivery: I tried to cut down on the amount of times I called the Infomaniac this time since I got a lot of complaints about that. The reason I did so much is because he points you in the direction of the closest citizen in need, speeding up the task tremendously and much more practical than going islander-hopping to get directions. I also talked to some of the other characters that otherwise serve no purpose.
Board Park: Thought I'd get this done early on.
Brick Dive: I hear a lot of people who say this minigame is hard, but it's really not. I skipped the page this time to show you an extra bit of dialogue if you do so.
Jousted: Perfect run, heck yes! I also showed what happens if you hit space before building up any power.
Raging Bull: For some reason unless you're in a cannon Cedric can't kill any of yours, which is why I often jump in and out.
Matching Mummies: This one went a little worse than I wanted it to, I made quite a few mistakes.
Bi-Plane: I sincerely thought about recording this minigame at 30 FPS thanks to insane timer issues that turn this into an unplayable mess at 60 onward. Basically, nothing in this minigame outside of the plane's normal flying speed has any sort of timer put on it, and IT SHOWS. The biggest issue is that fuel drains too fast; even if you pick up all the tanks, if you don't exploit the fact that fuel doesn't decrease while you crash (along with the speed boost you get on top of that), it will run out just before you reach the runway at the end. I got a lot of complaints for making Pepper never shut up originally, but here, you don't have a choice. In the end, I went on ahead and left it at 60 even though it breaks the minigame beyond all playability, but the reason fuel drained so slow for me in the original is because I had the game throttled at 30 FPS, where the minigame runs just fine.
T-Rex Racing: I actually redid this one a few times off camera so I ended up with a different score than what was shown, because...
Mr. Hates' Camp: ...of this. So, the actual way you play this minigame is dropping the dinosaurs on the target where you launched, and I thought I'd do it the "right" way this time around...until it turned out any time I did, the music would cut out. I'd rather do it the improper, time-saving way of sacrificing points by just dropping the dinosaurs off wherever. Not like it matters anyway.
Make A-D Pizza: I tried picking the right ingredients this time instead of being mindless, but I don't think it makes any difference anyway.
Brickster's Palace: Once you get the hang of this game, it's really easy. I had a no-death run on the platforming section which is awesome.
Epilogue: First I showed the cave that's accessible by typing "sdreams", then I showed a few remaining things I hadn't done yet, and ended on Pepper's house. I forgot to show the Information Center, but you aren't missing much, trust me.
This game was the closest I was allowed to GTA as a kid
@@__Nicholas__ exactly hahahah!
Nah mine was gta on psp
Sad
I loved running on the train tracks
Damn, I'm three years too late on this comment.
Never knew there was a story, i just used to drive around in a skateboard
You mean on a skateboard not in one
@@mikekaty2558 Eh
At least your parents knew early that they don't have to save up for college
So you were the skateboard?
(according to your spelling)
@@weegeenumberone2 Yeah he turned into a skateboard. Funniest shit I've ever seen
I remember playing this game when I was a kid. I got stuck on the "Jousted!" minigame. That's why I still haven't played through the rest of this game yet. It's fun to see it here on UA-cam, though.
After getting "unstuck" on the joisting, I was stuck on the fishing minigame for the longest time. It was my brother who figured that one out.
I haven't tried the fishing minigame yet since I'm still stuck on the "Jousted!" minigame. Not to mention, I made a let's play of this game back in November 2012, but postponed it, and people posted comments on Part 4 of it instructing me how to play it the right way, and I appreciate their help, so hopefully, I should still get back to working on it as it has been four-and-a-half years now.
I beat the Jousting mini game first time, so for me it's really easy. Fishing on the other hand... Pain in the butt.

My childhood right here

best game ever and i can still play it without getting bored

I wish LEGO makes a REMASTERED version of this "LEGO island" series....
Some slight fixes to the game would be nice, I think that's all it really needs though. The textures are done pretty decently.
@@JonathanZigler I really hate when the figures split apart as animations. I would like to see Lego Island but if it was done with the Travelers Tales format of gameplay but open world
The first Lego Island can be modded
Remake Lego Loco first
the source code is definitely lost

"Pepper what are you doing?"
*Blank stare for several seconds
"MY best!"
Jeez they're screwed
Ahaha dead blank stare
I cannot thank you enough purely for editing out the loading screens.
You can say that again! :)
Someone call an ambulance; I'm having a nostalgia attack. This was my first ever PC game, and my favourite. I just found this after years of not even remembering it existed.
I'm gonna die in happiness. Seeya!
This was also my first PC game from years and years back. I played this game sometime from 2006 to 2008 and I thought it was the best thing ever.
Don't die, Ridley is in smash bros now
Same here but i didint understand anything
Did anybody's game come with a Brickster keychain?
Soy overdose
I was the producer on this, lol I'm sorry for all who hate it, I promise you this, the team worked so hard on it, and we actually used professional voice actors!!!
Oh wow, it's an honor to hear from you! I'm sorry if my description was hurtful, at the time I was very brash and blind about what I would publicly say about games, as I guess I didn't fully grasp that no matter how bad you may think it is, there was real human work behind all of it. I learned my lesson the hard way after getting developer comments on other occasions, haha. If I uploaded this now I absolutely would not have written it the same way. But hey, that's what eight years worth of maturity does to you.
That's so cool! Can you tell me what some of the voice actors were? They're not credited in the game, and these have been a mystery to us for years.
Hey! Lego Island 2 was actually my first Lego video game! Even before the first one.
Even for all of us kids who could never get past the main island, this game is equally as iconic as it’s predecessor, or say something like Lego racer.
No game is perfect, but you and your team gave virtual life to the same bricks we played with everyday. And that’s all you could ask of a Lego game
God bless you dude, you made my childhood very memorable:)
This is the best game ever made
I still quote that "Not the ha-ha kind of funny" line to this day. ( 18:11 ) I came to this video to show my wife that clip. Really enjoyed this game, thank you.
What? There's more?! I thought the game ended at the rotating pizza graphic!
@@kreuner11 back in the day it took literally 5 minutes every load screen
LOL my game never loaded cuz pc
@@rompetiss I remember buying The Sims 2, and then my computer couldn't handle it. Load times were ridiculously long on that old Windows XP computer.
Yooo this is so true. I’d get frustrated at how long it stayed on the loading screens
I remember feeling so good when my windows XP Dell managed to load into pepper's house without crashing!
I'm almost thirty, havent played this game in maybe 18 years and still recognize the plot and lines. Holy nostalgia.
Same here I turn 30 in two weeks! Came looking for game play because they game suddenly came into my head. Absolutely and completely nostalgic! Currently trying to find where I can play it!
I remember when I first played this game, our computer didn't have enough RAM to handle it, so the dialogue skipped. I still laugh thinking about the Infomaniac going "Well, knock m--knock m--knock m--knock m--knock m--knock m--knock m--knock m--knock m--knock m--knock m..."
It's almost like the audio glitch in Lego Alpha Team when played on Windows XP, huh?
Same here
The golden age of PC games: 1995-2005
Also, that beat at 5:30 is lit.
@@kreuner11 I believe that's mostly up to the time when the original Lego Star Wars was released. After that all of the Lego games pretty much copied that formula.
And then came the renassiance: 2006-2013.
Childhood! The soundtrack brings back so many memories!
I loved the soundtrack as well when I was a kid.
Jesus that load up screen took my back in time
Best childhood ever. Will never come back sadly :( thx for uploading a piece of nostalgia. The world changed a lot....
I was six when this was brand new. Loved playing on it on our family's Windows 98 desktop.
Had this game as a kid hated the fish mini game so much
Haha! me too! i found the cd yesterday and installed it..ahh the memories that comes to mind..
Fun game, never figured out how to beat the fish game as a kid
I was stuck on that for years
Agreed
Never got though that part
Man, that desert time trial race was the hardest thing ever back when I first played this as a kid.
The fact that this entire thing took only 2 hours to complete kinda blows my mind, it feels like I spent ages on this game. I also remember the loading times being awful (even when I was used to a slow PC), especially for the skate park.
Some days I go back to videos of these old games I used to play when I was 5 and realize just how far in life I have come. It’s inspirational but also hauntingly eerie
Oh my... I fell from my chair when the nostalgia hitted me
Who's King Now right, I raged quit on the naughty bots minigame

Didn’t learn from the first game 😂
29:43 that weird Lego creature was my favorite part of the game just because of how much it stood out
The only part I ever remember from this is when I walked on the train tracks and that guy would fly me around and the music
The fishing mini-game used to KILL me as a kid. Took me several new playthroughs to finally get passed that.
I haven't played this game in about 12 years. I just remember making it to the Brickster's Palace and rage quitting over the 2D platforming sections. I just had horrific timing. And then I come and watch this and I see how short it is, and I'm like, "Are you f**king kidding me?!"
Yeah I know. You gotta give credit to the guy who uploaded this. He's good
Same here could never get past that part!!
lolol no way, me too. I don't know what the hell happened, it was almost if my computer couldn't handle the game during the platforming part. Jumping was so jittery that it was nightmare to time it well.
Some of my favorite voice acting in games. My childhood. Its been 15 years since i last played and i still remember all these characters and voices. Funny how much a game can be part of your life
Someone needs to tell Pepper that you can't skateboard on grass.
notessimodude yeah onlu who is peppr i neverr play the game
Chad Purser or swim with pizza in abackpack and why is the pizza not in boxes

Or on sand... that shits impossible irl
People have beginnings. This was mine.
So true
I miss this game, my dad got me the ps1 second hand for my birthday when I was only five, this was the only game I had and I would play it non stop; just watching the intro again brought back so many memories.
Never was able to make it passed the underwater level of the knights place as a kid
Its so weird seeing the graphics now
It still blows my mind that when I was around 5 I would play this game, watching this brings back memory’s 😪😪
You can tell a lot of love went into the development of this game; this kind of quality is just so much harder to find in games in this day and age.
So simple yet so beautiful
Such nostalgia.
1:46:41 - I didn't know that you can take a closer look at that drawing.
me too
I never got past that bridge minigame. Now i know where my hatred for water levels comes from
I used to play this on my brother's PS1, I remember when the disc stopped working correctly and I would do infinite attempts to make it work. My native language is Spanish so I didn't understood what they were telling, but that was the best game of my childhood, thanks for uploading this :')
Same here 😳
They don't make Lego games like they used to. :(
we need more games like this
Yeah, they got better
Yeah, now they're collectathons built like Lego Star Wars
yeah it makes me sad that all lego sets and games now are just based off of licensed ips instead of original ideas. i missed when they were more creative and diverse with their sets and games
@@helenhomunculus5044 Exactly! Where did the creativity go in LEGO? I loved Lego Island because it was truly original.
Holy crap, the WAVES of nostalgia that hit me with this game are SO GOOD.
18:55 Apparently Pepper prioritized payment over a damn criminal escaping after thinking for a full second on a responsive. That’s Lego Logic at its finest.
I need this game back in my life
It's still available on Amazon and eBay.
I still have it somewhere
6:16 "Wow, *pizzer* "
I played this all the time when I was younger! I could never get through the scuba level so I had my mom beat it for me... good times
I remember playing this between the ages of 6 and 7, so between 12 and 13 years ago for me. My parents' computer had trouble running some games, especially open world types, and the game always crashed approximately an hour and a half into gameplay, give or take five minutes. My save was always deleted. I wasn't that great of a speedrunner and I never figured out some shortcuts because I was so young. But I probably started a new game 50 or 60 times on this one to no avail, I only caught the big fish a couple of times and soon after the game would cut out.
So interestingly enough, the first half of this video is replete with some of the fondest and most experiential memories of my childhood, the second half is completely foreign, hard to follow. I ended up stopping the video at 1:06:00. I mean, you caught Big Bertha, told the explorer team about it, and that was the last relatable moment. Everything after that just seems pointless and ugly to me.
Still, thanks so much for putting the walkthrough out there. This is a powerful nostalgia trip.
I could NEVER get past Big Bertha. Now, 5 years after playing it for the last time, I might pick it up again :D
when people say lego batman was the first lego game to have voices in it
Well I was one of those people XD
Super 90's & 00's memories.
I remember my older brother telling me my 4th grade teacher had this game, and I searched through her entire video game collection for like 15 minutes everyday.
This brings back good memories.
Just figured out the medieval section is a mix of monty python references, which is pretty funny.
This brings me back to when I had to borrow my mom's laptop in order to play this game. I got gifted it by a relative of mine (along with LEGO Alpha Team, but it just didn't work for some reason) long ago for some odd reason. It was the middle of summer, not even Christmas and my birthday is in Spring! Well, I loved this game to bits back then, and I believe I completed the whole thing twice over. I didn't remember how short the game was though, this walkthrough was VERY quick. I remember it took me a while to get through most of the mini-games, probably because it's 5-year old me playing. Anyways, thanks for reading my rambling about the fun old days.
1:26:40 the music for the skydiving minigame didn't need to go that hard but im glad it did
Hi, I played this game as a kid, it’s one of the most wonderful games of those years. Thank you for the video.
My coppy of the game refused to save, so I would play the begging of the game over and over again. The farthest inver got was the pyramid place
Bad memes Try to honor this game with a full playtrough atleast once
I remember parking cars in the middle of the road and making massive destruction clouds all over the place lmao
Okay, I am convinced that Pepper is some kind of Deity Minifigure. He just picks up any talent instantly... aside from reading and spelling.
i've never heard the Bill Ding montage without it skipping every second. this is neat
22:47
Me everytime I screw up. XD
You gotta love those squishtastic fmvs. Something the modern day minifig games, shows and movies won't bother to offer
My goodness, I never knew that developer room in the volcano even existed. I tried many times to know where that hole in the mountain went as a child and never quite figured it out. It’s amazing how video games are like books and movies, you learn something new every time you play or watch them again. Thanks for showing me this. It was a real treat.
Yep, though it has to be accessed via a cheat (the portal doesn't show up until 1. you've beaten the game and 2. you type "sdreams")
man i remember playing this before walkthroughs were a thing. Spent hours and hours on this game :)
i remember once this game took you to other places, like the desert bit, my mind was blown as a kid. it went from such a simple plot to really out there
6:29 “all in all it’s just another brick in the wall”
19:31 a LEGO Island 1 voice clip can be quietly heard
Yep, that’s The Brickster’s old laugh.
14:12 sounds like cartman's mom
Makes me appreciate the Traveller's Tales games even more than I already did.
I think the only reason why I beat Lego Island 2 about 5 times as a child was, because I loved flying over Adventure Island and searching for the points you'd be visiting in the game.
I never knew there was a sequel growing up, and within 5 minutes in I feel like that was for the best.
10:20
I could never get past the jousting part, I always had my brother beat it for me! granted I was 5 yrs old but still.
44:02 - It's not fair!! (Gets launched by a catapault) Whoa!!!
5:32 I like it when they dance like that.
the techno the raver guys' are grooving to, with the jaunty background music still playing, was actually quite an interesting wee mix
3:53 MORGZ WAS ON THIS GAME?
Also this game is so nostalgic, I want to play it right now
Small detail but the movement is way more satisfying than modern lego games
You get to hear that awesome Parachute Training music 3 times in a row.
I don't know why, im crying right now. And now I don't know how i could play this again. 😭😭 Too much memories in this game💞💞💎💎👊.
Bruh my roommate just reminded me of this game a few weeks ago, nostalgic af. Got it at my neighbors garage sale when I was like 5 and just loved it
This was one of my favorite games as a kid, It still is even though I haven't played it in many years.
1:29:12 - It sounds like they reused one of Pepper's voice clips.
4:03 "I HAVE SOME BRICKS FOR YOU"
This whole game's a clusterfuck piece of shit and I love it.
It's amazing to think how short this game is. I spent so much time playing this as a kid.
Oh the nostalgia.. I even remember playing the original LEGO Island from 97’!
9:43 Did Pepper just walk up a mountain with little to no effort? I thought this was a Lego game, not Big Rigs Over The Road Racing!
You expect more out of a game that has loading times so bad that even Sonic 06 would blush?
At least there's invisible walls in this game to prevent the area-ditching that occured in big rigs if you went too far away from the map
22:47 .....My Best!
Man, the voice acting dropped so much in quality from the first one. Why didn't they get the same folks back?
Most voices sound better than the original as the VA's in the original are mostly very obnoxious
@Tehya Brown Not the first time
Played the shit out of this, Lego Island 1, Island Xtreme Stunts and Lego Racer 1 and 2! My favourite games as a kid
As soon I saw the intro the nostalgia already kicked off.
Pepper has a _girlfriend?_ How old would you suspect he is, Mr. Eight-Three-One?
+Fleskhjertaet Probably like 16, the "cool" age.
Its Jared from Subway
@@PeruvianPotato who?
Well he *was* building his new house in the beginning
If so then pepper would have been 12 in the first game
My life was so much better back then. Im crying right now
"IM THE DUDE WITH THE FOOD AND IM ON MY WAY!" fuck yea this game was sick.
This game was SO MUCH FUN omg im so happy that i found the name
1:27:26 - Technician Bob sounds like he has a Canadian accent.
The pizza always loaded for more than one minute!
And it took ages to finish all challenges that time!
Ohh this brings back the childhood feels. I miss games like these, haha. Call me old fashioned or just old. Haha.
The memories are flooding back
I remember this game when I was younger I always sucked at that plane level!! Ahh memories
i would give everything to be able to play this game again
I think it's on Amazon
This brought back some memories I didnt know I had.
