@@jwildhorseI think it mostly depends on what country you play in. Most countries teach to hold the stick with the dominant hand on top. In the US we are taught to hold the stick with the dominant hand on the bottom. It doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with them being beginners.

The easiest way to tell it’s a beginner league is that almost everyone is shooting right-handed. That and the skating, of course.
