You guys should check out the Bloomington Bison who are a new ECHL team. It’s my local team and the emblem has a bison head with an Abe Lincoln hat. I love my jersey.
That Minnesota jersey is awesome and hard to find! The colours and stripes are wonderful, and the logo/text is super unique & meaningful to the local Twin Cities fans who went to the game. I like the idea that it’s unlike any modern logo and therefore did the “Winter CLASSIC” assignment perfectly. A+!
If it wasn't both cities of text, if it was combined into a logo, if it didn't have the one extra set of stripes below the collar but not on the back...it may have regional significance but it did not translate well, and predictably the NHL did not explain well. I wore it for ugly sweater day to work and people said, "it's an ugly sweater masquerading as a hockey jersey" and they're not wrong
Also loved the chopper-colored gloves and breezers. It took me years to find a good deal on one since I missed my chance to buy it that year. That was a fun game it was so damn cold
I cant wait to be in the Friendly Confines of Wrigley Field for the Winter Classic. I looking forward to seeing the Blackhawks newest outdoor jersey in person on ice for the 1st time. I would love to see if the Hawks would bring back the Winter Classic as their 100th anniversary home jersey and make a cream verison as a road jersey it would be a perfect centennial uniform.
I think most people didn’t like Minnesota’s but i i actually love it and I thought it was a good jersey match up too. The same with this yrs Blues jersey, i love it & think it’s a pretty good jersey matchup.
I've been seeing images of a Gold St Louis Blues logo being used for this winter classic, why the hell didn't they just throw that on the front of the jersey?! Smh
This might be a homer take, but I think with some small adjustments, that Minnesota jersey becomes excellent. Move the top stripes up farther and take the elbow patches off. You could leave the logo the same, or take out the mpls and St. Paul and just make it the state and I think it’s excellent. Curious what your guys’ thoughts are on how to improve it / what kind of jersey you’d make for Minnesota
Drop the text and size up the state logo, or redesign the logo so all the text is within the logo, and it's instantly better. The stripes below the collar need to disappear or get attached a la the 60s Bruins, and be both front and back. It would be acceptable then, even if still a bit ugly. Really, I think MPLS, regardless of the history, is the worst part of the whole thing. But above all - the elbow patches have to stay lol
The Eagles....why. did. they. not. do. the. Eagles? That's about the only thing else they could've done. Or the Blues arched jerseys from the 80's, which still would have not matched up with Chicago's design.
They would have managed to botch that, too, like the Penguins with the old Pirates. Though I agree, it's already a white jersey, blue and red are kinda Blues colors...slap bluenotes on the shoulders and call it a day...but no.

Oh we're aware. The whites are a bit rough, that red touching baby blue is never good, but the homes are very well executed
