When Mario first met Peach to ask her for help to save Luigi, Peach could have easily turned him away, but she was kind enough to see what he was made of. I like how they didn’t make Peach mean or selfish unlike how a lot of royal characters in movies and shows (especially those in live action) are portrayed. She offers kindness and tranquility among her people and does everything she can to protect them as a royal person should. How sweet. There needs to be more characters like her.
what sets Peach aside is that, while capable and skilled, she recognizes when she's outmatched by an adversary and isn't afraid to call for help or use teamwork to save the day. This contrasts with other Female leads that try to fight/defeat the villain alone to prove themselves, or see others trying to help as "baggage" (only warming up to them over time.) She also takes time to encourage those who are struggling, disheartened, or sad. She doesn't tower over her subjects, but kneels to talk to shorter people and creatures (such as Toad) at eye-level, to make them feel just as important in stature as she is. That suggests to me that Peach is very mature and wise beyond her years, and is more than a worthy leader to wear the crown.
Yes! And I also love how she is really skilled and capable however still likes things that are considered 'girly' (makeup, dresses, pink ect...) which is something a lot of female leads refuse
4:23 well is tecnically canon that princess peach can do all that she's really strong in reality she have power to control other emotion and you can play as her "super princess peach" when she's literally saving mario
Yeah, many people seem to ignore that. They keep saying "Peach stole Daisy's personality" but being able to fight isn't even a personality. Peach's personality is more kind and feminine. Daisy, however, is a tomboy, really sassy and hot-headed. And both can fight but Daisy is better at fighting. I can't believe people say "They ruined Peach's femininity" just because she was fighting against Bowser in the movie. She had her make up, pretty dress, heels and beautifully cut long hair. She was still as feminine as ever
Honestly, I would just blame all the Mario games where Peach constantly gets captured, only to call for Mario to save her while she stands there hopeless. This movie represents Peach is more like her character in the comics, to be honest. Much more entertaining than just easily getting captured and calling for Mario to save her.
She’s sweet, compassionate, sassy, strong, determined, brave, and innocent. Everything that princess peach should be! I’m so happy she wasn’t just a damsel but also kept her feminine side
The nice thing is that you could see how she COULD be the Damsel in distress even after all the movie did to show her strong side. Because the RPG's she was a fellow adventurer and/or the person helping you despite her imprisonment....hell super Mario world she was tossing mushrooms to you while on his clown-copter. Then if you have the Japanese versions of some of the old games back on the SNES she certainly was a character, only she and Bowser drank their victory champagne in the OG Mario cart...which of course Bowser doesn't get drunk, while she gets hammered, and I think that means she can actually has a higher tolerance for alcohol than Mario.
Illumination really understood how to write a good girl-power character with Peach. They show Peach in a more proactive light without tarnishing her character, who is still cute and wholesome, nor her absolutely adorable relationship with Mario.
Nintendo developed the film alongside Illumination. Nintendo probably told them how they should portray the characters and that's why it's so accurate.
She was not the best part of the movie to me, but she definitely added a lot. By far, this is the most beautiful and elegant interpretation of her. They spared no expense detailing her dress, her face, and her eloquence.
@@MyNameIsZoniconix sorry but i have to disagree. Although i commend of nintendo and illumination for experimenting with this character, they took everything that made the character likeable in favour of a generic girl boss. While the version in the movie was not entirely the common "strong female" character who hates on men, she just didn't have the kind, elegant, bubbly and quirky characteristics she possessed as much in the games and felt quite bland. Even though most people just write princess peach off and call her weak and useless, (and while a few games such as super mario sunshine depict her as more one dimensional) princess peach has shown to be sassy, sweet, charming and quirky in a variety of the games, in my opinion giving the character layers to her personality. In the paper mario series and super mario galaxy, when peach is often captured, she will do her best to help out mario or the others and at times is playable along side them, showing that she is more than capable and will persevere. While this movie was amazing and still is, I just wish Nintendo and Illumination could have taken more inspiration from the games, such as her quirks like using a frying pan as a weapon instead of a halberd. Im not saying that they have to take away her role as a heroine in the film, but keep her personality from the game as that is what i think makes her enjoyable to watch and helps her feel more in character.
Thing with peach, the games that are given the most spotlight keep her static however in her spin off (which is getting a sequel now) any of the JRPGs she is in she does kickass, next level games in the football games make her very animated. She fights Rabbids with a freaking shotgun out of all the weapons they chose for her
In my opinion, Princess Peach in the film was portrayed as kind of mean to Mario at first. She focused on his stature too much and doubted his skills, but she still gave him a chance to prove himself and stood by him the entire time he tried to complete the obstacle course. After that she was a true queen throughout the rest of the movie. She started off as kind of mean, but then grew to be very very compassionate and encouraging. THAT is how you princess!
She has the ability to see past Mario's size and appreciate Mario's tenacity and stalwart perseverance (that even Mario's own dad couldn't see in him.)
I am so happy they made peach like a capable, kind, determined, smart princess instead of “damsel in distress” and also showed just how far she would go to save her kingdom and people.
@@donathan2933 She *needed* help, too. She couldn't have faced Bowser on her own and succeeded. When she tried in the movie, she got taken by Bowser as usual. Good thing Toad put an ice flower in her bouquet to give her an advantage.

it would have sounded strange to cast Joy as Princess Peach, but then edit her voice to be a higher-pitch to more closely match the game. I think the different interpretations for Mario and Peach's voices are good! Remember the 90's Mario show, where he has a more gruff, "Brooklyn" accent? That worked pretty well too!
@@Princess_-gp3ep I mean, it's not an opinion. Having generic cute moments doesn't mean she was characterized well. Several notable characteristics of hers, like compassion and grace, are not shown here. Only reason yall accept this Peach is because she makes yall feel empowered, which is sad.
My only real critique of Princess Peach in the movie is I wish when she and Mario were having their moment after Mario almost makes it and she says “I was really bad at first, worse than you.” She’s actually being genuine. It would’ve been nice to see that she’s where Mario will one day be, being good at combat, but has a way to go. It would also be (to me) a cuter moment between them because of the understanding that as she says “no one gets it perfectly at first.” And (for the fans) it’d be a nice moment because where Mario is the player who’s just starting a Mario game and stumbling, Peach is the player who’s dedicated so much time to practice it, but hasn’t forgotten that they struggled at first too. Beyond that though, Peach is an iconic character and I loved everything they did with her.
@@TheCreativen.1 yeah, but to be fair; she’s not nearly as girl-bossy as some other female characters. She’s not annoying or always right either which makes it nice.
One thing I loved about how Peach was portrayed in the movie is that she's competent AND caring. She's not a girl-boss in the way Hollywood tries to force it so much as she's a ruler who cares about her people and this random human just popped into her life that she knows next to nothing about and, rather than try to show him up she trains and encourages him, giving him all the necessary exposition about the Mushroom Kingdom and how it worked. She was concerned for his safety. She didn't know what to make of him when they first met because he is short and was concerned about how he would fare against Bowser. He impressed her enough with his improvement that she decided to take him with her. Then she got to see what makes Mario truly special when he went against Donkey Kong. She saw that Mario was outmatched from the very beginning but he just wouldn't quit and never gave up and won as a result of that. She was practically fangirling over his determination and how he just wouldn't quit. I also think that that is what makes Mario such a good hero these days as well. He gets hurt. A LOT! But he manages to overcome it all through determination and care for his brother which is what makes him a good role model and hero figure for kids and come out on top. Peach doesn't rob him of the spotlight like most modern girl-boss characters do and she's an absolute sweetheart to him.
It’s interesting how she reacted to both Mario and Toad when they first said they wanted to come with. Both times she tried to scare them away, but once they reaffirmed they weren’t scared, she had no issues. Given how when Bowser attacked all the Toads, including her royal guards, just fled; her tactic makes sense.

For a movie that was more action than story, I was pleasantly surprised that the female character was neither mean and rude nor a damsel in distress. She was a genuinely nice person while simultaneously being badass.
Peach managed to do what current female characters couldn't, and that is bearable, having help from others and especially, not stealing the show in a hateful way, which, in today's Hollywood, is hard to avoid. No wonder many people love her ❤

i loved that they added her floating ability from marip 3D world that was the first major thing me and my sister saw and got excited about other then the luma (who carried the whole movie and no one can change my mind)
1:55 🤨peach what the fu-

1:01 oh my god I love that cute smiley face on princess peach now im in love
What the heck
YES! Princess peach is my favorite character in the movie!!!
The bowser song I can’ttt😭😭😭
She's my favorite character.
For a movie that was more action than story, I was pleasantly surprised that the female character was neither mean and rude nor a damsel in distress. She was a genuinely nice person while simultaneously being badass.
0:34 typical brutal honestly 😂😂😂😂😂
4:35
I love you Peach your such an Amazing Princess. maybe you deserve to be become queen.
4:54 Nah
Elsa is a Peach Dupe🤗
Boy, is Peach massively awesome in this movie! 😍
What I love about this movie is how they made her a fierce and strong character!!! She's amazing!!!! 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕😊😊😊😊😊😊
I love this movie
Peach managed to do what current female characters couldn't, and that is bearable, having help from others and especially, not stealing the show in a hateful way, which, in today's Hollywood, is hard to avoid.
No wonder many people love her ❤
4:22 just don’t hurt my toes 💀
In this movie, Peach is DEFINITELY the waifu that she SHOULD have been in the games! 2023 has definitely been kinder to her than most years have.
IMPOSSIBLE Not to love her!, GOD!
She always was😂❤❤
This is the best version of peach, and I wish we would see this version of peach from now on instead of a damsel of distress
4:23 she really cares about her totes 🥺
2:02 I just noticed that the Toads worship Peach like how the minions worship Gru. That’s a nice touch you added.
