Ashley Evans J Cole's lyrics aren't very complicated. He's really just dragging himself down by refusing to get features. The production is boring too.
Love the way you break it down. I've been listening to Rap and hip hop for 20 years yet as an Aussie some of the nuances of the lyrics go over my head. Keep it up, love how you guys are going about it.
the best music reaction channel by far, u are able to breakdown the lyrics all the while appreciating the instrumentals, keep doing you and keep them reactions coming
Woo, you guys uploaded it! Sweet, Cole's verse was crazy! Hope this was another tease of their apparent collab album. Check out Cozz- Knock Tha Hustle (Remix) ft. J Cole. You won't be disappointed!
Song is dope. Reaction/review was good. Nice to see that y'all watch Everyday Struggle. When Cole raps this way, he reminds people why he is one of the top rappers, even though he's stated he doesn't care about competing for greatness.
Ricco Brown yeah his battles are great but his music is fire. I think this channel 3rdeyerap com has some of his music and his newer shit is on his main channel. Especially his Keymaker mixtape, it's amazing.
You guys have an awesome Genuine reaction. You guys should do more Cole maybe some of his old joints like Dead Presidents 2, Lights Please, Grew Up Fast, or even Drake feat JCole Jodeci Freestyle
Lost In Vegas No worries guys, I started watching since you reacted to Logics everybody. I think that was just before you guys blew up. And I love how real your channel is you don’t dickride artists. You just tell it how it is.
I've been trying to be a good Free Thinker, so I've been watching your non rock/metal/country songs. This one was easy to click on. I was already a bit familiar with J. Cole and have liked everything I've heard by him, and of course I know Kendrick Lamar. I loved J. Cole's section of this song. That's exactly the rap music I like to listen to. A nice beat, a good flow, and no mumble.
Agreed! I found the guys through they're rock and metal vids and my rap knowledge is passable but this was an easy watch. I also found myself feeling the same way they did about Kendrick's part on the track.
Need to see these bloopers y'all talking about lol but lets get it 3 amazing artists in one track man expect some fyyaaa from this. I saw the everyday struggle episode with Jeezy so I understood his position and respected his grind and how he got there by using rap as a voice and platform also listening to Cole get off like that goddamn he had my face scrunched like I seen something suspicious lol. Even tho Kendrick didn't go in on the rapping he did a damn fine job closing it off in a good melodic fashion. Great reaction and breakdown into the song and meaning love it man.
I 💗 J. Cole. He has a beautiful soul and it shows in his music. I steady play his albums on my Amazon music. No Kendrick albums on there. I like Kendrick but I don't seek him out honestly. He's talented, just not what I prefer to listen to.
Yo Im the same way about Kendrick.. I think he's dope af but I just prefer Cole for some reason. Im just mad that cole dont come with as much finesse in terms of production and other stuff in his albums.
Your content is very enjoyable. The spread of all the music you do is great. Kendrick is one of my favorite rappers out and I wish you two dug more deep into his music. I've only seen a few reviews of him from you guys. Either way keep it up fellas
myjciskate4 What u talking about cole always flow like this. Every song he been and made he snaps. I don’t wanna hear that I miss this cole shit.......
Wish Kendrick woulda had a verse instead of an outro but still a great track. Nice Vid guys! If you haven't heard the song Nosetalgia by Pusha T featuring Kendrick I think you guys would like it!
Kendrick is a good lyricist and his verse on this was decent. but Ive always liked Cole more, and his verse on this pushed that for me. Thank you guys for another dope reaction! 😊
Would love to see some reactions/reviews to stuff like Lupe Fiasco - Mural, MF DOOM - Madvillain - Accordion, or anything OutKast. even if yall heard it I love hearin both of you talk about it lol. Ever thought about doing like classic reviews on stuff that affected you when you were growin up?
Its really sad that ppl are very childish. This is called working together to make good music but there's ppl in the comments trying to make everything into a rap battle. That's prolly why we won't hear an album from them because ppl will most likely stop listening to the music & turn it into some j cole vs Kendrick shit rather than MUSIC.
This was awesome! I love seeing your genuine reactions. I've been having a hard time getting into newer rap/hiphop/R&B etc. Maybe I'm just getting old lol. I have also been in a purely rock mindset for the past few months, but watching your reactions makes me want to give it another shot and do my homework. But if you don't mind, I want to throw a curve ball at you two. There is a lesser known southern rock band from the '70's called Black Oak Arkansas from Black Oak, Arkansas. They are a bit hippie, a bit spiritual, a bit funky, and a bit raunchy. I recommend "Jim Dandy", "Lord Have Mercy on my Soul", "Hot Rod", and "Up" (specifically the live version from 1973). Oh, and "Happy Hooker". And "Mutants of the Monster".
Great video, fellas! Man, I just gotta tell you guys... no joke, this channel has legit become apart of my daily routine lol Every video I watch, you two just have the absolute best reactions, but to me, more importantly... an amazing outlook and well descriptive way of analyzing these songs. You open these songs up more to me than I ever thought on my own. I love it! Thank you, fellas..... One of my favorite raps (on my playlist), is Never Falling by Living Legends. Could you guys maybe react to that one? It'd be cool to hear what you two think! Salute from Detroit!
The people have asked for mural by Lupe for some time now ! We waiting ! Great content guys . truly a breath of fresh air with the honesty and rawness.
Been with ya guys since 1k, congratulations for nearly reaching 200,000. Always come back for the witty analysis, for someone who is trying to get into the music industry it's very educational to see what people look for and see within great music. Wish the best for ya guys, I'll be with ya for that 1mill milestone in anticipation. Could you react to Freaks and Geeks by Childish Gambino, I crave your analysis on that.
First time commenting on this site. I have viewed several of your videos, all of which, for J. Cole. I am a J. Cole "Super Fan". I am also 66 yrs old. I really don't like rap, per sa, but I love the Woke rappers. I love Wale, Common, Killer Mike, Joey BadAss, and most of all David Banner's mind-set. Although J. Cole is younger than I am, he was born before me. The thing I appreciated most about this review is your defining some of the terms. I didn't know he was talking about "Big Pun" with the weight. You both appear to be very intelligent and Woke. Thank you for the review, I will subscribe now.
You gotta do some TYPE O NEGATIVE!!! Amazing metal band with a style that was never done prior and never duplicated since the death of the lead singer PETER STEELE. My favorite song is I DONT WANNA BE ME but they have soooo many great songs! Please check them out.
Another great reaction. Jcole still to me is better than kdot. He flow soo smooth and delivery. While kendrick doing it super saiyan mode why cole is calm. So imagine if cole went super saiyan????? Lol..... #lostinvegas #newaddiction #realchannel #1Msubs #goal
Knives its funny ive been trying to tell people that for so long jcole i feel never gives 100 percent but is still in the sentence with kendrick if that man and kendrick were both on a track and both spazzed i think cole will have the edge his flow is better he can sing he can match lyrical intensity with k dot but the thing with cole is that his wordplay is unmatched in hip hop which is why he doesnt need to prove how good he is hes that good people dont realize that kendrick is always in the media cole isnt that should tell you
Knives this was a Kendrick lamar outro, if you want to see Kendrick with an actual feature look at “THat part (black hippy remix)” “love game by Eminem” “nostalgia” and then come back and tell me this is a Kendrick verse
lol another kdot stan that always defend their idol. im sick of all of you, Listen when did i say kdot is not dope huh? i listen to kendrick all the time bru, it just so happen that i have been listening to cole more earlier and i just prefer him coz of the way he is but never said kdot is not great. Ps. nostalgia pusha own that song. puha t and cole probably my fave coz of their vocal and when they spit they kind of commanding you. however kendrick is very diff.
Cole and kendrick are damn near close but cole just sounds better flow is flawless wordplay is flawless bars are vicious ive followed both of them from thier early careers but cole has an edge forbidden fruit was an underated album his bars were godly on tht album many people like kendrick more cause hes more relatable and he is more camera friendly and outspoken cole is more too himself and discreet which is why kendrick is perceieved better and easier to relate too cole is also a producer in case anyone didnt know so he can rap sing and produce 3 headed monster
Dwight Jay Kendrick is a much better rapper man, the songs highlight by the public are like the singles and stuff, listen to GKMC’s bonus songs and you’ll find GOLD that no one knows “black boy fly” and “collect calls” are two over looked golden songs. And don’t forget this song had a 1 minute plus verse from j cole vs 21-25 second outro from Kendrick. And let’s be honest if they had an album together it’d be a “catch up” game for j cole to keep up with kdot or if Kendrick not trynna kill jcole he’ll be limited and not just completely wash him up
Also in the Big Pun line, Cole literally used Big Pun's name to make a "big pun" about the juggling weight so the line is even doper than when you broke it down the 1st time. What a mindf**k lol!!
It's crazy, I feel about as comfortable listening to this as you guys do to Opeth or Dream Theater lol. Just goes to show, it all depends on what you're used to. Variety is the spice of life though, wouldn't want it any other way. #freethinkers
The reason why everyone was expecting a full verse was because Cole was on it and Cole came hard as fuck so initially the outro was disappointing but it fits in perfectly
I'm telling you, man... Coming from another hip hop head y'all need to listen to For Whom the Bell Tolls, Battery, and/or Spit out the Bone, all done by Metallica. Those songs finally did it for me recently. Much love to y'all for everything you do!
the thing i actually like about this channel is that you guys have a passion for music and will deconstruct a song for the meaning behind it not just the melody, real shit.
The outro from Kendrick just made J. Coles verse more outstanding, and idk if it was on purpose or what, but it made the Whole Song Amazing! Keep the Videos Coming !
My 16 year old son was like mom you gotta hear this song! First time hearing it with you guys! Loving this song and what each artist brings to the table on this one.
Diego Gonzalez Thanks for the reply! He is a huge Cole fan! He was able to see him in concert over the summer then saw Kendrick a few weeks later. He is all about his music!!!!
Diego Gonzalez Understandable! He's very eclectic with his music. He can pull out some Cole, Kendrick, Chance , all the way to Prince and Guns N Roses on me while he is driving and playing his Ipod. I am proud of his music! He has a passion for it. He makes me the cool mom, in down with that!!!! He is def not what people think of when they see a 16 year old Mexican kid who loves rap music!! ❤❤
Coles verse could very well be the reason he didnt rap its not that crazy of an idea that he didnt want competition given his current position in rap if he gets outshined on a track that wont be good for his image just saying lol Love you guys
loool bruh what you smoking. actually jeezy on sway in the morning he explains how the record came about. you'll know none of them knew who was on it till the song was done.
I honestly think Kendrick didn’t rap on this song because he didn’t want to downplay Cole’s verse and create a debate between listeners on who had the better verse. Cole was spittin some real shit, so I think he understood that the message should be what listeners focus on. I can’t wait for a real comparison in the future however if they decide to do a joint collab and really give it their all.
J cold went absolutely nuts on this! Can’t wait for the next album. This is the cole I’ve been waiting for.
tomorrow ey
Firesquad 77
And he disappointed... Again
ρυηρυη if you’re disappointed by KOD you clearly don’t understand lyrics
Ashley Evans
J Cole's lyrics aren't very complicated. He's really just dragging himself down by refusing to get features. The production is boring too.
ρυηρυη let me guess, it's cool to hate on cole but your excuse is "boring" like everyone else? Lol go listen to your 69 or lil uzi
If Cole would’ve hopped on this song and did what Kendrick did, people would call it trash
Bittah Commander exactly !!
Bittah Commander Cole is way better than Kendrick but people are scared to admit that
Bittah Commander Lmfaoo because it’s clear kendrick watered himself down just to let cole shine
Christian Alcazar shut the fuck Up and stop speaking on hip hop
This why they won’t drop they’re collab album, y’all keep comparing them
Y’all are one of the best reaction channels on UA-cam, fr. You explain verses perfectly, been a subscriber since like 30-40k. Keep it up!
gussi Rex its just nice to see some insight on a track
link 117318 'W' for that pic.
Cole murdered this fr
Mason Delano
Honestly
Cole and scump= 🐐🐐
Woo, you guys uploaded it! Sweet, Cole's verse was crazy! Hope this was another tease of their apparent collab album.
Check out Cozz- Knock Tha Hustle (Remix) ft. J Cole. You won't be disappointed!
Dimius was gonna recommend the same song. Cole went off and Cozz had a nice verse too
Its Blezzii cole stay bodying his signees its like getting jumped in at this point
That song is mad old though lol pretty sure every Cole fan has heard it
That what reaction/reviews are for xD
the one with cozz is one if my favorite Cole verses!
This is how to do a reaction video.Great ear for lyricism salute to Lost in Vegas!!
Thanks bro!
Song is dope. Reaction/review was good. Nice to see that y'all watch Everyday Struggle.
When Cole raps this way, he reminds people why he is one of the top rappers, even though he's stated he doesn't care about competing for greatness.
Ricco Brown Hes considered top 5 or top 3 no matter how he raps. I think the best rappers rn are Kendrick and joyner
TopDawgEnt970 TopDawgEnt970 I like Joyner but just due body of work, Im going Kendrick, Big K.R.I.T, Logic, J. Cole
Ricco Brown try out Daylyt, I'd suggest his Keymaker mixtape(you can find it on UA-cam I think). He's a real good conscious artist.
Kalamite I like Daylyt. I watch battle raps. His battle against Cortez was pretty good.
Wow...liked the song. specially J.Cole verse. Nice reaction.
When are you guys doing the "Black Friday" by Kendrick and J.Cole?

Thanks bro!!
Lost In Vegas No worries guys, I started watching since you reacted to Logics everybody. I think that was just before you guys blew up. And I love how real your channel is you don’t dickride artists. You just tell it how it is.
Hayd3n exactly man. Best reaction/review channel out there atm imo
never clicked so fast on a video. keep doing your thing man
I've been trying to be a good Free Thinker, so I've been watching your non rock/metal/country songs. This one was easy to click on. I was already a bit familiar with J. Cole and have liked everything I've heard by him, and of course I know Kendrick Lamar.

Salute bro 💯
Agreed! I found the guys through they're rock and metal vids and my rap knowledge is passable but this was an easy watch. I also found myself feeling the same way they did about Kendrick's part on the track.
Ayy y’all getting a lot of recognition from this vid dope to see man
Need to see these bloopers y'all talking about lol but lets get it 3 amazing artists in one track man expect some fyyaaa from this.

More J. Cole mannnnnnn 😂😂😂, love the vid 💯‼️
I 💗 J. Cole. He has a beautiful soul and it shows in his music. I steady play his albums on my Amazon music. No Kendrick albums on there. I like Kendrick but I don't seek him out honestly. He's talented, just not what I prefer to listen to.
Amber S damn. I got all Kendrick and Coles mixtapes and albums from 08 to today haha
Yo Im the same way about Kendrick.. I think he's dope af but I just prefer Cole for some reason. Im just mad that cole dont come with as much finesse in terms of production and other stuff in his albums.
Jeezy said in a interview Kendrick knew cole was gonna be on the record so Kendrick defiantly had a chance to top Cole's verse or even attempt 2
Your content is very enjoyable. The spread of all the music you do is great. Kendrick is one of my favorite rappers out and I wish you two dug more deep into his music. I've only seen a few reviews of him from you guys. Either way keep it up fellas
Thanks Zachary! Kendrick's label has blocked a few of our vids but we'll get back to him.
J. Cole the G.O.A.T.
I miss this j Cole. When Cole flows like this he is top 5 easily. ( in mainstream hip hop of course) back to that Friday night lights flow.
myjciskate4 i hope he gets some beats from other producers in the next album feel like hes too comfortable on his own production
myjciskate4 What u talking about cole always flow like this. Every song he been and made he snaps. I don’t wanna hear that I miss this cole shit.......
I believe he can do this anytime. It's just way easier to do as compared to his more meticulous verses that are Layered with slow delivery
myjciskate4 top 5 period not many, other than legends, underground or mainstream but hey jmo
BLACK THOUGHT FUNK FLEX FREESTYLE!!! definitely one of the best freestyles of all time, if not THE best
This was great guys. I shared a lot of the same thoughts, was laughing along with y'all. Great stuff.
Wish Kendrick woulda had a verse instead of an outro but still a great track. Nice Vid guys! If you haven't heard the song Nosetalgia by Pusha T featuring Kendrick I think you guys would like it!
bruinsfan022 Kendrick's verse on that is crazy yo
Go listen to Jezzy ft Kendrick Lamar Holy Ghost
I’m proud of u boys

Good shit guys!
You guys are the best on UA-cam.
Thanks my man!
Y'all the goats for real tho 🐐
Kendrick is a good lyricist and his verse on this was decent. but Ive always liked Cole more, and his verse on this pushed that for me.
Thank you guys for another dope reaction! 😊
Tierra Hudson did you just disrespect Kendrick??? That boy is talented, deep!!!
he didn't even have a verse
Elijah fine, “extended chorus” but either way it was still decent. it could have been better.
Loved ByYou i didn’t disrespect him. i just find Cole to be a little better . just an opinion
Tierra Hudson agree
Would love to see some reactions/reviews to stuff like Lupe Fiasco - Mural, MF DOOM - Madvillain - Accordion, or anything OutKast. even if yall heard it I love hearin both of you talk about it lol. Ever thought about doing like classic reviews on stuff that affected you when you were growin up?
d1v1ne2986 for sure

Love you guys. Stay up and free thinking 💭
I like that you guys break down the songs. I realize I miss a lot of things. Shoutout from vegas!
Thanks bro!
I see your point. The competitive nature of Hip Hop is both a gift and a curse at times.
We appreciate you giving it a shot Rheannon!
Yes sir it will be
That shit was crazy
Jose Torres Black Thought bullied that track!!! Best I've heard maybe ever
Joey Bada$$ - "Hardknock"
Logic - "Growing Pains II"
Both are fucking amazing

perfect timing with this video man was just listening to it
Hate to sound like a broken record, but we need that black thought freestyle, or Rap on Steriods. Love the channel and keep grinding.

You welcomed, and that's the female Bobbie. I am a little sensitive about commenters calling me bro.
Haven’t heard this song yet
Lol I was holding out for you guys 😫😫😫😫😫
Took y’all long enough..let’s go

Probably the best breakdown & analysis of a song that I've ever heard.
It's crazy, I feel about as comfortable listening to this as you guys do to Opeth or Dream Theater lol. Just goes to show, it all depends on what you're used to. Variety is the spice of life though, wouldn't want it any other way. #freethinkers
Paul Leach Man I don't even know you, but just by this logic, I fuck with you. Keep doing you fam 🤙
LEGENDARY 10 MIN!!FREESTYLE!!!!-BLACK THOUGHT-FUNK FLEX!!
yo love the channel. You guys need some Jimi Hendrix up in here.
Indeed!
I just wish Kendrick rapped and went in, what he did was still dope but I feel like everyone was expecting more
Ray Urbieta
I couldn't agree more. First time I listened to it the song ended and I was like '...that was it?!?'
well it wasn't a verse it was a bridge soooo
Ray Urbieta I was gonna expect 3 killer verses but, okay Kendrick. You're still my king❤️
The reason why everyone was expecting a full verse was because Cole was on it and Cole came hard as fuck so initially the outro was disappointing but it fits in perfectly
Shout out to Free Thinkers!
This the first video I saw of yall 😆 3 yrs later yall still my favs shout out from Durham NC
Love you guys review, long time viewer first time commenting
We appreciate you stepping out to show love bro! Thank you for supporting!
This why J Cole my fav rapper, i wanted to move like dude when since i was 14
do the black thought freestyle
If only Kendrick had his own verse in this song it'd be perfect
song would have ended up at 7 or 8 minutes knowing Kendrick would have introduced Kung fu Kenny at some point
Been waiting on this thank you keep up the good work
Notif squaaaddd frfr ‼️‼️
Carlos Evangelista yea right
Salute!
Three solid artists on a track , each bringing their own style and yet it still works. Good shit guys
N.E.R.D - Kite ft. Kendrick Lamar & M.I.A
ozzy man agree
Big boi - Jill kill........ also great reaction 👍🏼 🙏 thank you LnV!
Anilyst - Substance or Seff ! And Merkules - Pump ft. Tech N9ne & Stevie Ross ! Both super underrated !
I'm telling you, man... Coming from another hip hop head y'all need to listen to For Whom the Bell Tolls, Battery, and/or Spit out the Bone, all done by Metallica. Those songs finally did it for me recently. Much love to y'all for everything you do!
I subscribed. The dissection of this song was too accurate to not subscribe... you should work for genius lyrics lol
Lol! Thanks bro!
thank u man i really wanted yall's reaction on this
Thanks for watching sir!
Black Friday - Kendrick Lamar's version and JCole's
the thing i actually like about this channel is that you guys have a passion for music and will deconstruct a song for the meaning behind it not just the melody, real shit.
React to the Black Thought funk flex freestlye.
The outro from Kendrick just made J. Coles verse more outstanding, and idk if it was on purpose or what, but it made the Whole Song Amazing! Keep the Videos Coming !
🔥
Love if you reacted to J Cole '4 Your Eyez Only'
My 16 year old son was like mom you gotta hear this song!

this coming from a metalhead : JEEZY is the man lol
J cole just on another level he really goes into it
For me 4 eyes only is my best album of Cole
If I ever make my self known, I want to see a reaction from you guys in my future. That would make my life. I love hiphop. Just incredible.
Coles verse could very well be the reason he didnt rap its not that crazy of an idea that he didnt want competition given his current position in rap if he gets outshined on a track that wont be good for his image just saying lol
Love you guys
Sam Nichols agree jeezy said cole verse was on there first before presenting it to kendrick. I dont think he wanted that smoke lol
Yeah I think you're right it does make sense
loool bruh what you smoking. actually jeezy on sway in the morning he explains how the record came about. you'll know none of them knew who was on it till the song was done.
Cole reminds me a LOT of Lupe on this track man. I love it
I honestly think Kendrick didn’t rap on this song because he didn’t want to downplay Cole’s verse and create a debate between listeners on who had the better verse. Cole was spittin some real shit, so I think he understood that the message should be what listeners focus on. I can’t wait for a real comparison in the future however if they decide to do a joint collab and really give it their all.
Thats sweet but actually none of them knew till after the song was done
J Cole heard KDot’s verse and then wrote his verse.
Jeezy is the Coldplay of MCs...lyrically dunce vs dense (LOL). Great song and another excellent review. Happy Holidays, guys!
Check out The Contortionist's song "Language I: Intuition"!
