What I love about Royce and Cole is they paint vivid pictures with their lyrics. You can't live their experiences but in a way you can spend those few minutes of a record walking in their shoes. True poets. #freethinkers
Is it possible that both J. Cole and Royce have got better over time? They seem even greater to me with every passing year. Lyrically at the very least.
Yeah they are definitely one of the few rappers in this game, that were great when they had their first few records and people loved them but with the time they both got way better with the bars, concepts, rhyme schemes, depth of the lyrics. I personally think J Cole 4 Your Eyez Only is his best and most ambitious album. Royces PRhyme (1&2) and Layers were his best to me either and his old shit is fire too
This channel is extremely underrated. The fact that there's essentially no research done to have a true unbiased review and experience and yet it's STILL broken down the way is a work of art.
Boblo was sooooooooo much fun growing up. EVERYTHING that Royce said can and does apply to anyone who went there! The boat ride was SUPER fun! You tried to kick your tightest game to a chick you like. But if you strike out, there's always the ride back. By that time you seen and talked to other chicks. It was also the best when you went with your crew. DAMN I MISS THAT PLACE!!!!
Dude,I been binge watching ur vids and I also just completed drug rehab. U have no clue how much u guys have helped me remain clean. I salute both of u.
Adam Hicks Good for you man! I’ve been in the same place you are now, and finding something positive like these guys is crucial to the process of staying clean. Keep at it, you have a lot to be proud of getting to this point, so many people don’t have the will power to get themselves clean. You embody what this channel is about, free thinker, making your own path and living your life right. Much love brother.
Justin Harris * thank u for that....being new on recovery I realise I have to change my people, places, and things. It's hard because the majority of my friends use. I have to cut ends and leave them behind,or I will relapse. So meeting people like u is definitely an inspiration to me. And for awhile these guys as well as a few other UA-camrs will be my new friends. It's sounds pathetic, but to me,it's the truth....and ur right,to remain clean I'm gonna have to be a free thinker, instead of a follower as I was. Thanks again.
Salt * I'm very new into sobriety but I was to the point where I was stealing from all my loved ones to the point my family had betrayed me. I was prostituting my ex girlfriend out even. And for what? Heroin. To go back using would kill me. Thanks for the inspiration.
Adam Hicks Hey, good for u for deciding YOU want a different future. You don't want ur past, you don't want the relapes and sobriety cycle, you want a better future and you can only do it for you. I wish you success! If music is helping, I have seen many ppl say they found Eminems story inspiring and his Recovery album deals a lot with overcoming addiction (so does his album Relapes). He has almost 10 yrs of sobriety now.
For me, this song is one of the best rap songs in recent times and I am surprised by how little impact it had. Today I listen to it again and my mind continues to explode.
it must have closed in the very early 90's.....its not abandoned....its a Canadian Island that has huge rich peoples houses on it...been that way for a long time now....nice try though, whoever told you that hasn't a clue !!
"Boblo Island Amusement Park is an abandoned amusement park which ran from 1898 until its closure on September 30, 1993. Its amusement rides were sold in 1994. It is now an expensive, gated housing community with a private clubhouse." via Wikipedia
The best reaction channel on whole UA-cam. I like how you guys explain the meaning of lines except for just listening to it. That's why I subbed, you are so genuine.
Damn! I love that line about the glass waiting for you at the pool floor. Super creative way to talk about glass at the bottom of the pool. Sometimes that’s the hardest thing when writing a rap. Finding a new more interesting way to say something simple. I walked over there, I pranced over yonder. Shitty example yes, but I hope you get my point. That’s true word play. Finding a way to say something in a different way. Much love to both MC’s. And much love to this channel! The only reaction channel on UA-cam I have respect for man. You guys are genuine and you really listen to the music. From metal to rap, you guys just hit it everytime.
Love the reminiscent songs! J. Cole is the man and a master at taking you back. Spot on that he's relatable. It's funny watching this because you guys describe the hood and how things were and it sparks memories of my own childhood. We all have more similarities than we know and music is a conduit for that no doubt. I didn't grow up in a suburb but it wasn't the projects either, somewhere in between I guess. But we dealt with all the same stuff - no money, drugs, weapons, violence, etc. I think every generation needs a few of these songs. Great find!
Ayoooo the video is back lmfaooooo. Last time didn't get a chance to write something tho but now I do. Royce and Cole slayed that recored really well and seeing it done by class rappers of different breed and of different eras really shined for me. They both vividly created pictures and images through their words one simple the other complex but the complemented each other on the same beat and I really liked that a lot and this song is going in my playlist lol. Big ups to Royce and Cole and Good Looks Lost In Vegas for the upload man.
Man this is why I love your channel...I get down on a ton of different music and I grew up with Royce but I dont see shit like this come across my radar even if I am familiar with the artists yall put me on to new music and I often find myself listening and breaking apart songs right along with you...cheers from Gary IN
Boblo island was a amusement park on a island between Canada and Detroit , you had to ride a boat to the park. The boat ride was a party just like he said. The park is closed now , damn I miss them days😭
This music will always be refreshing. People get so caught up in the type of music popping on the forefront with the newer generation. Music that makes you visualize and feel through words will never die. Great song, great reaction video. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Wow Cole never disappoints. Royce NEVER disappoints. Love the complete breakdown of the lyrics y’all. Pleasee man react to Joey Bada$$ - Hardknock ft. CJ Fly! Crazy
Y’all are forsure my favorite reaction channel because of the way you guys actually listen to the song, y’all show the importance of actually listening to the lyrics and pushes me to keep writing lyrics with meaning in them. Keep it up y’all!!
I watched this video when it first came up and was writing my comment when it was removed. Glad to see it's back! This song featured two artists who have serious flow as well as serious lyricism. Definitely gave me the impetus to check out more from both artists. I would like to request a reaction to Lingus by Snarky Puppy. I don't think you'll regret it.
Y'all should hook up with Shawn Cee. I love both channels alot. Really intelligent insight and like, passion for music. Just realness. Keep doing what you're doing, I'll keep supporting.
We use skate wid jcole every friday night when he work at utal shopping center fayetteville nc 05-07 he use freestyle over mic to different beats, i was like 11-13 of age never forget , am 28 now and he always come back town and never forgets nobody and never forgets were he came from, and helps everybody in the ville!! He makes us proud we from here!!!
court love that lol my nan words man track is fire Royce is way too underrated they both killed it! love from the UK guys love the channel have been watching for ages
Boblo Island was a theme park island on the Detroit river. You had to take a big ass ferry boat to get to it. Those of us who grew up in Detroit remember it well. Also the voice at the beginning of the video is mort crim, a famous news anchor here in Detroit that will Ferrell sites as inspiration for anchorman lol
When you went to Boblo riding the Boblo Boat was half of the amusement park experience. The boat was the one ride everyone had to ride! Hustling to Stevie Wonder on the ride back! I miss it!
Machine Head- Halo Man I was top 20 comment when you released this the first time. Killer story telling on this track. Easily my favorite type of lyricism. Great duo.
I've been watching your videos so regularly that I thought you uploading a new one after a week was an April Fools joke lmao. I'd love to see you guys react to Death Grips (No Love, Fever, Guillotine to name some of my favorite tracks). I think you guys would really dig em.
If you old Skool from Detroit you couldn't wait to get on the Boblo Boat catching the Boat was like a cruise! Staying all day until the last boat left partying all the way back!
The Boblo Boat took Detroiters to Boblo Island. It was a 20 minute ferry ride from Detroit. It closed in the early 90s and used to go there in the summer.
You guys are great reactors and in my opinion the only ones who actually take time to really dive into the lyricism. You guys should check out Everyday Struggle by PRhyme.
Originally I was requesting Fire From the Gods - "Excuse Me" as a reaction. However, I think you guys might like the offshoot group the lead vocalist Eric started: BackWordz. Songs I recommend are "Be Great", "Self-Ownership" and "Statism". Mad love, my dudes. Keep up the amazing work. Glad to have you back!
Bob-lo is an island across the river in Canada that used to have an amusement park. You could get there from Detroit or Gibraltar on a ferry. It wasn't the greatest, but it was where a lot of us went for a weekend trip.
This is pretty dope, typically I'm not terribly huge on rap but I'm enjoying this one, the pictures people can paint is just astounding to me If I could request something, too, my personal favorite rapper is Packy, and my favorite song by him, I Already See It. Would be super dope to see you guys check that out, I love watching you dudes and hearing the ways you guys speculate and review with both of your takes on the song at hand, I'm a new fan but definitely here to stay :) Thanks for doing what y'all do
They're back! You've been missed, and this was smooth and slick at the same time. As far as metal goes, I've been pretty much able to predict almost every single reaction you guys had so far. What you need in your life is FEAR FACTORY - Self Bias Resistor! I want to see you guys be blown away by a metal song again! Please react to this essential and genre-defining band, before doing all the often-not-that-exciting latest band in fashion...
This is the first hip hop video I’ve watched of yours. I normally watch all the metal ones but I love Royce and I couldn’t resist! Now I’m gonna need y’all to listen to Dystopia by Tesseract.
Dude. Needed this!! The extent of my music cnverstaions with friends is "this is pretty lit" "Yep" *Nodding heads till chorus *Sing chorus Rinse repeat
Awesome video guys, you caught a lot of stuff I didn't get on my first few listens. Also, I always like when you guys do country and I would love to see what you guys think of Kate Mcannon by Colter Wall (the acoustic version). Incredible guitar and a CRAZY voice.
Welcome back fellas been watching all the old videos lol but great as always thank y'all for broadening my playlist again.but I want to request brad paisley whiskey lullaby
The Boblo boat was the boat we took to get to Boblo Island... The island was an amusement park... We partied on our way to the island on the Boblo boat. #Salute #MittenLove
Aye cool to see the vid back on lol, it's really dope seeing two artists that are so skilled really take notes and be able to see higher level writing. Good reaction 🔌
The Dillinger Escape Plan - Widower The Contortionist - Return To Earth Black Peaks - Can't Sleep I'm gonna never give up requesting these until you guys finally cave 😂
Boblo Island was a amusement park from back in the days in the Michigan/Canada area. You had to catch a big boat to get to the island. In the Transformers movie with Marky Mark, Ratchet is hiding in the old remains of the boat when they kill him. The S.S. St. Claire.
And this is exactly why I fuck with y'all rather than all these other shitty react channels.. Y'all really know how to dissect and talk about what the song has to say, all while keeping an objective mindset. Only react channel doing it right in my opinion. actually dissecting unlike the LawTWINZ who claim they are the dissecting kings while they don't really do almost any dissecting like you guys. good shit.
For anyone woundering what boblo boat means it's the boat he took to Boblo Island. Lol and Boblos island was an amusement park between Michigan and Canada, which closed down in 93'.
J Cole just has such a smooth style. He shined without stealing the show. Royce did his thing too
He stole the show
Lol
He stole the show tho
What I love about Royce and Cole is they paint vivid pictures with their lyrics. You can't live their experiences but in a way you can spend those few minutes of a record walking in their shoes. True poets. #freethinkers
An the fact that you can recognize that speaks to you
Beautifully put. This is one of the things that make music music
Royces PRhyme (1&2) and Layers were his best to me either and his old shit is fire too
Nowadays it seems like a lot of older rappers are really stepping up recently
The new garbage rappers are running the game so the gatekeepers been stepping their game up to be able to compete with the new peeps
Matt Phillips The saviours of rap putting on their capes
Matt Phillips And the old supervillians as well
To this day, this song is insanely underrated. The story telling, the imagery, the over all vibe, are all on point
This channel is extremely underrated. The fact that there's essentially no research done to have a true unbiased review and experience and yet it's STILL broken down the way is a work of art.
Really liked Ryan’s analysis of the Boblo Boat metaphor at around the 5:40 mark. “the vehicle to nowhere” that was powerful.
J Cole literally directs a damn mini movie in your head with his lyrics. So fucking good
couldn't have said it better myself.
Royce did too!! 🔥🔥
The way ya''ll break down lyrics🔥🔥🔥🔥 and the reality/life lessons sprinkled in this review...2 real!
For me, this song is one of the best rap songs in recent times and I am surprised by how little impact it had. Today I listen to it again and my mind continues to explode.
Bablo island is an amusement park that's abandoned now that started in the 1800's that closed in the 1990's
jose maciel the boat ride was the best part of going there as a kid
OHHHH I thought this referenced Bois Blanc Island in Lake Huron.... I see (also Bablo...French its like Boy blan)
Birdie McFly definitely a hated community
it must have closed in the very early 90's.....its not abandoned....its a Canadian Island that has huge rich peoples houses on it...been that way for a long time now....nice try though, whoever told you that hasn't a clue !!
the first guy to know his stuff....you are correct sir....

J cole leaves me lost for words with trying to describe his artistry and skill.
So ur saying he can’t beat Eminem

Wet Dreamz is such a good story rap, well-written and you can put yourself in his shoes. Cole is great at that.
Ayoooo the video is back lmfaooooo. Last time didn't get a chance to write something tho but now I do. The book of Ryan is one of the best albums to come out this year.
Agreed
Incredibly slept on tho
Real review, lyrics analysis, u guys do the best review on UA-cam
Can we also salute the way the sample was so smoothly, woven in the song with these smooth, lyricists' voices?!? 🔥💛
Royce is so detailed and insightful in his raps, i would listen to an acapella cd of his
You guys are my favourite reactors because you fully understand and expand on each bar. High ratings 👏
A lot of good memories. The boat ride was always a blast running around playing games on the boat. Then riding rides at the park.
You lot explain each bar so well man! Mad respect
J Cole writes in a way that is relatable, because there is honesty in the words. King Crimson - In the court of the crimson king.
It's been a min lmao been watching your old vids these last few days lol
The way that "under pressure" line was delivered, felt like a little shout out to Logic to me 😀
rode the Boblo boat yes to Boblo Island in the summer from Detroit Michigan when I was young.
it was an amusement park
great memories
Ron Sevon I LOVED the midnight cruise... I miss Boblo, hoping off the boat and running to thr Blue Streak
Yall actually listened to me ayyyyy, much love ❤️.
I really like this.... Some parts of this rap reminds me of my own childhood. I’m glad y’all are doing better. Love the channel and missed y’all
Royce is a legend 🙏🎤🙌👏
Usmaan Ali and the only the dude to wash emenim on a song with just those two.
Todd Maek T.I and Kendrick did too.
T.I’s verses were nowhere on Em’s level, Kendrick hung with him that’s it
Kendrick held his own for a while but em took over the song at the end
I heard that J.cole is retiring... I hope that day never arrive bro!! Cole is the realest.
Y'all should hook up with Shawn Cee. I love both channels alot. Really intelligent insight and like, passion for music. Just realness. Keep doing what you're doing, I'll keep supporting.

React to Wale - Black Grammys. Cole killed his feature.
Machine Head- Halo
Man I was top 20 comment when you released this the first time. Killer story telling on this track. Easily my favorite type of lyricism. Great duo.
Just discovered this channel the other day, I genuinely think you guys are the best independent 'reaction' channel on UA-cam, keep it up!
I've been watching your videos so regularly that I thought you uploading a new one after a week was an April Fools joke lmao.
I'd love to see you guys react to Death Grips (No Love, Fever, Guillotine to name some of my favorite tracks). I think you guys would really dig em.
Just recently discovered you guys and I can’t stop watching your content!
Glad you guys are back. PRhyme 2 is dope. Era ft Dave East is a good track if you were looking for a vid to react to :)
New subscriber🤗 literally been binge watching your videos
I love you guys 😍 thanks sooo much for being honest 😘
You guys are great reactors and in my opinion the only ones who actually take time to really dive into the lyricism. You guys should check out Everyday Struggle by PRhyme.
Please react to J Cole Killers, it’s one of the most profound rap songs ever curated. Thank You.

REAL PLACE!!! FO-SHO!! Plenty of memories there but some of the best times were the boat rides there and back. I love good nostalgic memories.
Thanks much for this reaction.
Bob-lo is an island across the river in Canada that used to have an amusement park. You could get there from Detroit or Gibraltar on a ferry. It wasn't the greatest, but it was where a lot of us went for a weekend trip.
Just subbed because i like the breakdown on lyrics
Finally we can see it!
Great video as always, they slayed this
This is pretty dope, typically I'm not terribly huge on rap but I'm enjoying this one, the pictures people can paint is just astounding to me
