Here is the link to an electrical connectors that can be used to make the speaker wiring plug and play.

For anyone wanting a plug and and play connector you need the Metra 72-9300 harness. It says it's for a Mazda but it plugs right into the g8. Great video!
👍🏻
I wish I knew about the plug and play connection before I did my install. I ended up cutting my stock wires with very little slack going to the speakers
Yeah the factory wires aren’t very long.
Plug and plug for any door speakers or just these alpines?
@lunitunz I know these Alpines work, but I cannot guarantee other speakers.
Nice vid, nice simple install 👍🏾
Thanks
I recently replaced the speakers in my SV6 Commodore and similarly, both rear speakers were rusted out one wasn't even playing. make sure to check out your door drains 2 slots on the bottom of the door behind the rubber seal mine were completely clogged.
Yeah I checked my drains and they were clear. Seems to be a common problem.
I always thought you needed to have a strong enough amp to power aftermarket speakers so they don't sound like trash when you turn them loud. I have 300W amp powering 2 8in subs running the stock speakers in my doors still. If I can run more powerful and better speakers in the doors, I will get some.
@@08G8V8 you can run aftermarket speakers off of an aftermarket head unit, which is more powerful than the factory head unit. Obviously, adding an aftermarket amp will help to get out more sound.
Need a cts-v speaker upgrade without cutting wires.
I will have to look into that. The G8 didn’t come with a Bose Stereo so it needed more help in the sound department lol
You can try installing rain caps for speakers to get rid of rust overtime
Ok, I might look into those
You shoulder get the Alpines 6.5 components type R little but more money but they r worth it
I thought about it, but decided to just go with these. I am happy with how it turned out.
Same as VE commodore in Australia. Maybe you should put that in the title or keyword links.
Yes it is, I ran out of characters, but I might add that somehow. Thanks for the suggestion.
VERY HELP FULL VIDEO THANKS

nice work mate
Thanks!
Wow. It has lots of Sound dampening material behind the panels!
That is all factory on the G8. I didn’t add anything.
I don’t understand why people decide to put coaxials in the front rather than components. It could’ve sounded twice as good
Because the G8 does not have room for components in the front doors, and they are more than twice as much. These coax speakers still sound very good. I have the Alpine Type R component speakers in another vehicle, and I do not think that they are twice as good, although they are slightly better.
I can't decide between these two speakers, I would take either the Alpine S2 S65C or the JBL GTO 609C for the car door. Of course, it would be connected to a Hifonix amplifier with a power of 4x135Watt/RMS with 4 Ohm OR 4x225Watt/RMS with 2 Ohm. Then I would need 4" speakers for the dashboard, which I would have to choose from is the Alpine S S40 (S2 S40) or the JBL Club4020, because I can't get anything else from JBL here in Europe. Now it's important that the speakers don't have that pounchi bass but that deep soft bass and the tweeters are not that important because those prominent trebles are really annoying to me and the middle tone is more important to me.I now have Hertz DSK170.3 speakers in my door and I'm not happy with them at all the bass is totally bad that strange pouncy bass, even though I have the doors insulated with Sound Deadener and foam specifically for car sound systems.
Maybe look into the Alpine Type R since you are going to be using an amp.
@@whiplashtv2022 For the Alpine R series, the price is a bit too high for me, and this year's Alpine S2 series is practically similar to the R series, it even has a lower frequency of 55Hz than the old R series and of course up to 40kHz. This year's S2 series is quite a bit better than the previous S, at least that's what they say, and the statistics themselves show that. As I said, I don't want to spend as much money for a speaker as the R series costs, so I asked about these two models mentioned above. I'm still somehow drawn to the Alpine S2 series because it's mentioned throughout that they have those low soft basses due to the very composition of soft and light materials and that different rubber around the membrane. The most important thing to me about the speakers is that they don't have those punchy basses and those annoying high tones from the tweeter speakers, but they also say that, if you use an amplifier, it's best that the speakers have the lowest possible sensitivity, and Alpine has it 88db/W lower than some others .
@@easyrider76 I like the Alpine S2 speakers so I would recommend them. The bass is smooth.
What about the two rear speakers mounted from inside the trunk???
I have 2 Kicker 8” DVC sub woofers powered by the factory amp which is turned up to 80% gain. It really sounds good and doesn’t add tons of weight or take up trunk space.
Here is a direct link to purchase them.

@@whiplashtv2022 have you made an install video for these?
No I have not. I did it around 5 years ago before I was really making UA-cam videos.
Connection does not match. Old connection is a “T” connection, these speakers have an “L”. Is there an adapter?
I explain what I did for the wiring connection in the video. However, there is a connector that you can buy. Here is the link.

Hows the bass on the type s sir??
It is good!
Did you do anything with the center speaker?
Removed it
Just a tip, coaxial speakers in the doors typically isn’t going to be as good if you do components.
I’m sure they sound great though, just might not have as much mid bass.
@@Oreo_5oh I have 2 8” Kicker subs so I was lacking in the highs department. I could probably do a component setup in the front door and tweeter in the dash, but am not worried about it.
They have the same alpine speakers as component set up. It’s s-s65c s series. I wonder if they are the same size
I would get some ds18 or for about the same money get deaf bounce or downforsound.way better sound for the cost.just helping out
I’ll take Alpine over DS18 any day. Everyone has their favorite and opinions and there is lots to choose from out there.
I have Deaf Bonce. My car is fairly loud. Coaxials and midrange speakers are two VERY different kinds of speakers. I dont think he's looking for extreme loudness, but more of a balanced sound for daily driving.
I was definitely looking for balanced sound with high quality sound and didn’t want to break the bank either. I am not looking for loudness only. If I wanted to spend more, then I would have went with the Type R speakers.
@@whiplashtv2022 I feel that. I know what you mean. I have two of the same car. One is very loud vocals wise, and bass wise, that was the goal. The other car though, I am going to go with coaxial speakers and subwoofers that offer a more balanced sound, while not breaking the bank, just so I can have the best of both worlds. I think a couple of pairs of Alpine Type S coaxials should be okay for me
@@Luminous.Dynamics the G8 has a lot of speakers in it as well so you get a lot of sound. 4 6.5” speakers, 2 8” subwoofers, and a pair of tweeters in the front. So 8 speakers total. I went with the Component Type R speakers in the Tahoe because rhat is all that it has up front with a pair of 6x9” speakers in the back. So not near as much.
Why not provide the link for connectors?
Because you can’t order them. Like I mentioned in the video, the ones that I ordered didn’t work so I had to make what I used.
If you purchase this electrical kit in the link, then you will have the spade connectors to make your own as well. amzn.to/3ktXFkj
Whiplash which set did you get on Amazon? 320 piece? 90 piece? Thanks for all the help.
320
@@whiplashtv2022 Sorry. I COMPLETELY missed that part >_
Does anyone know where one can buy new door panels for the G8?
Probably a salvage yard or on ebay.
Do you have a link to those lead connectors you used?
I built the connector leads that I used in the video because the plug and play ones that I ordered didn’t work.
If you purchase this electrical kit in the link, then you will have the spade connectors to make your own as well. amzn.to/3ktXFkj
I'm pretty sure these cars use 6 inch speakers, not 6 1/2's.
6.5” went in just fine as shown in the video
The speaker watt ratings are quite different. Do you know if this alpine speaker is okay to put in the g8 without draining the g8 battery/power system?
Yes, you can run these speakers without draining the G8 power system. I don’t even run a full size battery and they are just fine.
Ok, do you have the stock head unit or did you upgrade it?
Yes I did. Here is the video of it and the Aerpro V2 kit! ua-cam.com/video/IhwiFdV3AOo/v-deo.html
Going to a higher rated wattage speaker won't make the radio put out more power then it's rated at or draw any more power then it already does.
@@mattjones4285 correct and as I mentioned, it won’t affect the G8 battery/power system as Mike asked about.
