This... kind of blew my mind when I thought about it. "With me" says "You Know," and at one point, Knight of the Wind says "I know." Was that intentional by the songwriters?
@@LightMetaS That was completely intentional. Knight of the Wind is Sonic's response to Merlina's version of With Me. Crush 40's With Me is Sonic expanding on that point. Both songs were written with this in mind. The poetic beauty of this game is unparalleled, unfortunately we'll never get another Sonic game with this quality of storytelling ever again. Not with 2010 Sonic Team...
It's rare that I come across a cover or a remix of With Me, one of my favourite Sonic Vocal tracks of all time. You did a fantastic job remixing this, I can still feel the chills after it's done!
Here before this video even has a title. And GOD THIS HITS ALL THE RIGHT NOTES. As a die-hard fan of SatBK and the original With Me, this is such a unique and epic take - and finally, a good fucking remix besides the OG and Crush 40 versions! I love it, dude. From the Knight of the Wind/Live Life motifs to the combined vocals at the end, it's just amazing. Feels more sorrowful than the original, which kinda fits the context depending on the point of view. Also, I'm a DECENT singer, I think. Just hit me up if you want me to try and give something a shot!

Also the story telling was much much much better in those games then what we get now with stuff like forces or lost world for instance. Like Sonic felt like Sonic in games like black knight sa2 heroes etc. Anyhow this rendition is so good. I love it to bits.

I know I'm 2 years late, but I couldn't live without telling you this is the best thing ever, of all time. Just as a gmv this easily the best one I've seen, your cuts are always on point with the music and fit with the current lyrics (like a whole montage of Sonic daring to fight his enemies when "DARE TO FIGHT" keeps blaring over and over). You managed to take actual gameplay and make it look awesome! Plus some transitions like the sword swings or Arthur going from 2d cut scene to 3d were really really smooth. But it's not just an GMV, it's also the best goddamn remix ever of the best goddamn song ever. You change the song so much yet stay so faithful, it's crazy. You make it sound so much more final than the original, by toning down the guitar and using a lot more orchestral instruments. Then, you also have those slower moments, where you have somehow taken corruption as a concept and transitioned it to music. I swear, I can feel Melina's entire twist in the start of the song. That's insane! And then you have that happy moment in the song where she speaks, only for it to immediately snap you back to reality. It's beautiful, it actually made me tear up. Then that last part with the lyrics overlapping, man I can't describe the ecstacy and finality. Genuinely this is my favorite video on this platform, period. I've watched it and listened to it countless times, it's a staple of my Playlist. Thank you for creating this so, so much.
This game is my heart and soul of the Sonic franchise; it’s what made me a fan of Sonic and his series in the first place, mostly cause of the quote he said at the end, which was very wise for a teenager. With Me is among my top 5 favorite Sonic final boss soundtracks in the entire series. Hearing this remix of such a great song, it brings back memories, so thank you. Because of this game, Sonic has told the greatest life lesson we all should learn from: Live Life to the fullest in the time we have.

As one of the biggest fans of this monumentally underrated gem of a game, this song just made my year. Merlina has always been one of my favorite characters of the franchise, and this spectacular cover does her justice in more ways than one. The only thing that could have elevated it even higher would have been if she said one of her lines after she donned the moniker of Queen of the Underworld. Words cannot describe how incredible this work of art is: I only hope it gets all the views and attention it deserves.
