I feel like this is a perfect illustration of how the best covers are the ones that recontextualize the original piece. The original chop suey feels like anger and frustration giving way to acceptance at the idea of death, while this feels more like a portrayal of someone trying to use the fake it till you make it mind-set just to get up everyday until he decides to be honest with himself and really accept just how bad things are. It's really poignant and really cool
Reading this after listening to the song makes me think of Unus Annus. Literally encapsulates how everyone felt during the final moments of the channel right as it got deleted. Memento Mori

It takes a lot of creativity to imagine hearing a metal song like this. This is genius like it or not.

I really appreciate how it speeds up in the ending bridge, slows back down, and then slips back into a minor key until the end where it resolves back in a major. Really well done!
Every time I see a youtuber do something like this, they just take the chords and set them to major and they just mess it up cause there’s unwanted dissonance that doesn’t work and they have no musical ear and it just sounds bad in general.
This on the other hand is noticeably worked on with love and works great because you put time into it and you made it your own. Keep it up. What you do is amazing.
