In 1988 when I was cool and into the Roses and Happy Mondays I dismissed this song as candy floss . Now I’m older and uncool I finally recognise it’s a great song and perfectly performed. Voice is amazing, lyrics are touching and they all seem quirky and happy. Perfect. I was an idiot.
I picked up Eddie in my taxi when she played a solo gig here in Shetland years ago. She was amazed when I told her I saw them about 30 years ago supporting Deacon Blue. I told her find my love was a much better song than perfect and she agreed. Half an hour later find my love came on the radio and I hadn’t heard it for years.
I remember buying this record (cassette) in Dover 1988 also bought Michelle Shocked album and the Race by Yellow. What an eclectic range I liked back then .
Saw them support Deacon Blue in Barrowland in Glasgow, had never heard of them, best support act I’ve ever seen. Reader has an amazing voice, politics not so.
Eddie has still got it, what a lovely voice. Pleased that I have some of her solo stuff too. I think this was one was out when my son was born. A lot of life has flowed under that bridge since then. Strangely, as a narrow boat featured in that video, I’ve been living on a boat for the last twelve or so years.
I feel a big emotion watching them all together playing again. Thank you Eddi thank you Mark, there is moon on the rain and there are whispers floating in my ears.
Ok. That was unexpected and that was BRILLIANT. One of my favourite albums back in the day. Moon Over Bourbon Street was my favourie song ( I hope I have the correct? This is off the cuff). No looking into my CD collection (It's in the loft!) Thanks for that Guys. Put a smile on my face. No dancing though - two left feet haha.
If you've never witnessed this amazin' artist in real time, then book tickets and go see her. I've seen her everywhere SO many times; she NEVER EVER fails!! 🎵🎙🏴❤️✨️
For sure. II heard they were fans of the neo rockabilly/early psychobilly scene that was quite popular at the time of the songs release. The singer was seen at a couple of Guana Batz shows. They may of even opened for Fairground Attraction.
One of the most persistent earworms ever. I only have to hear the word 'perfect' and the song is stuck in my head, despite avoiding actually listening to it for decades. 😢
❤ Her shirt is very tasteful. Dionne Warwick believes in being true to her elderly ladies voice by not pushing it as it's in very rusty shape today. Let's offer her praise that she can still sing and attract interest at 85! Beautiful effort ❤
How on earth can you say that? it's as obvious as the day is long THE WHOLE PERFORMANCE IS 100% PURE LIVE!! the instruments are all wired up, Eddi is wearing ear monitors, she is singing differently and to be perfectly honest Eddi also sounds a little hoarse here too which I hate to say being a big fan of hers but she does sound a little below her usual standard
@@mallan1970 what is that even supposed to mean? If you just want a random comment I’ll say mallan1970 is holding a guitar. Or, it’s Friday but it won’t be tomorrow.

I’m over here in Australia. “Perfect” is one of the best songs ever. How blessed we are to see this now.

Brilliant
One of my favorite voices.🤗
Ohhh that voice! That band! Thank you for the return xxx
Fantastic.... No auto tune here kids!... Classy and nostalgic. So glad you're all back on the road 💯❤️
It's so great to see Eddi and Mark on such good terms and making music again. There is a magic here that very, very few bands have.
Thanks for uploading! Such memories
Always loved Eddi's singing and the magical band.
wow so good to see them back! after so long!
Musicians who can play and a singer who can sing. Makes a change...
Voice of an angel

Eddi and boys you took me back to my youth. Moon on the rain is still on my top 20 play list, 30 years on. Thank you for creating a great memory.
❤❤ Año 88 tenia 18 años y mis 52 años la sigo escuchando hermosa cancion bien interpretada desde argentina saludos.Daniel
This one brings back many memories! 😄

I never forget Eddie running on stage supporting Deacon Blue at the Royal court in Liverpool in 1988....
Saw them last night in London . Perfect venue.
The First Of A Million Kisses is such a gem! i am mighty glad they are back and look forward to the new album.
True. The greatest wedding waltz song. We played it at our wedding.
A great song for certain.
Eddie has hardly changed! AWESOME singer great to see them back together!
1988 was the year that this London group fairground attraction was formed
Ever hear her sing "Since I Fell for You"? Moving, moving, moving
I first heard this on my battery powered radio at midnight, a long time ago after a wonderful date night. Memories.....🙂🎸
Welcome back I always loved find my love I look forward to hearing the new album I'm sure it will do amazing 👏
Still perfect!.

Her voce still sounds great! I also loved her solo stuff!
Saw eddi doing her solo stuff in glasgow a month or so ago and she was absolutely amazing! Booked my fairground attraction tickets that night lol 😆
❤ Still has that voice! ❤
Wow , perfect indeed ❤

Went many a time to see Eddie in concert, she's the best ❤
Great stuff hints of rockabilly reminiscent of the stray cats 👍🌈♥️🙏🇬🇧

Her voice sounds as good live as it was on the record
brilliant
Eddie reader what a voice n great stage presence
Fantastic performance !
Brilliant singer !!!

And why did you deprive yourself of such a wonderful listening experience? 🙂
@@Cicilo1983 I don't need to listen. It's permanently lodged in my head. 😱
Great vocals Eddie.
❤ great band
Magic voice, magic song... ❤
Still got it big time
i LOVE THEM SO MUCH
Eddi Reader had returned for Fairground Attraction Reunion.
Still sounds so so great. I love her more mature voice. Still amazing control
Blimey she still has a voice.
She still sounds as good as she did back in the 80's and such an iconic song
Brilliant. Looking forward to the new album.
❤
Brilliant song. I had to look twice when I glanced at the screen as it looked like the late, great Leonard Nimoy playing the drums.
I don't think this was their best song, "find my love" was better. Nice to hear them again.
Looking forward to seeing Eddi at cropredy festival this summer
I might be interested in that too, been there several times, but not for about 20 years. Off to check lineup and ticket prices.
Find my love was also good!!!!
I bought a ticket for their Toronto show in 1989 and the North American tour was cancelled!
Diese Frau hat immer noch eine geile Stimme.
Not really a fan, but this was a superb live performance!
完ぺき〜♪。
Basically they’re skint!
That strong jaw line

Not particularly a fan but that was good!
Go to 3:40, to spare yourself the gab.
Bon groupe et belle chanson qui me rappelle beaucoup de souvenirs
C est un groupe de l ombres beaucoup trop discret est ce bien dommage
My teenage years, but did they do anything else??
💚 those presenters jeez they are wooden
Lost all respect for the lead singer when they appeared on TOTP and she just stood there peeling an orange while miming
It’s got to be ….. Celtic ! 🍀😎👍
One hit wonder
WOW, she used to be so pretty. I wonder if her husband can sue her for breach of contract?
Not the voice it was
I thought the singer was a woman. I didnt realise it was a man. Lovely voice though.
She’s a woman always has been.
She’s miming
I would not have noticed. The vocal is not the one on the original record. Where and when then was it recorded if she was miming?
@@anthonyquinn6009He's talking bollocks mate.
