@Khari Keith no. No one gives a sh*t. And the same fake 2 messages are on every cpl videos I watch... And 2nd of all why the h*** would you be in a relationship with someone who you feel you need to hack into their social media account? If you can't trust them, break up with them! Problem solved
It’s already resistant to washing as acrylic paint is permanent, just like when you get it on your clothes accidentally. There are fabric sealers out there too.
Ok! You started the way I do with my pieces. I prime with the medium. You can use the acrylic without the medium, but it will eventually crack, even with heat setting. Mixing the medium with the paint helps it flow better, too. I also use the medium to seal the finished product. And, yes, painting on denim is trying. This looks incredible, Alpay. I am indeed jealous. > for people who don't have a big budget < Obviously, the higher the quality of paint you use, the better results you'll get, so you'll need less medium with better paint. If you're using cheaper craft acrylic, you ABSOLUTELY need the medium, or your hard work will end up peeling off. You can get GAC 100 or Tulip fabric paint medium. They're both great. Don't be precious about high quality brushes. Denim will chew them up. Use cheap nylon taklon. If you really wanna splurge on specialty paints, look into Angelus. That stuff is even good for use on shoes and leather.
I've painted many t-shirts over the years and the painted image holds up extremely well. I also painted my leather jacket almost 40 years ago and it still looks great.
Loved seeing you and LOVE this result!! I'm so going to do this. Agree with another comment, I like seeing the texture of the material through the paint, looks more like a painting and not an iron-on sticker. Really enjoy your channel.
i can only imagine how awkward it must feel to talk in front of a camera alone omg. But you did a great job! Love the choice of the painting! It looks great!
Wooow this came out great! I painted on my jacket about 3 months ago and yes, I had the same bumps on the road because just like you, I did not watch any tutorials in what materials to use or how to prep the surface. Surprisingly enough after numerous washes the painting still looks the same with the exception of a few cracks that I believe are due to the fact that my jacket is a bit stretchy 😊
Beautiful work as always!👍✨ I have a Q: did you wash the jacket yet?, did the paint flake or something? I painted two denim jackets and I’m scared to wash them.. :”)
Your painting is amazing. However, the point of customizing a jacket is not to make it look like a printed image. I wouldn’t use a tape and would avoid clean edges. I would also choose something more abstract to paint on a denim jacket.
The man in the flesh! It's nice to see you not just in the live streams. The work is flawless as usual and the editing of the video is incredible! I admire you so much, Alpay. You're so much more than just a badass painter.
Actually I think it works better with the texture… it is realistic and true to the material ( denim) of the jacket . If it was smooth and perfect it would look like one of those fake O press on t shirt things.
Wow! This turned out amazing! I actually also painted my denim jacket a while the back, but just the sleeve. I decided to paint the capsule corp logo from dragon ball, it fit perfectly!
Really amazing to see this , just few days back I finished painting Obi wan Kenobi and here you have also done it . That's how law of attraction works. Wonderful painting 🙏.
The background music and the glow color in the back made me smile. Godzilla, Obi Wan.. yep. I am happy that I saw a video with the collaboration so I could find your channel. I'm getting back into sketching again, and I like colour. Your channel is calming and educational and enjoyable.
Fantastic! I love Star Wars. If I could paint at this level, I would do a Han Solo jacket. Who am I kidding? I’d have a jacket for every character! Lol
This is my first comment ever ^^ so I really liked to finally see the guy who is into art AND Star wars, just like me. "Good old Obi Wan" ♥️ on your jacket is just amazing and I'm super excited for every following video.
I Love it. I have painted many denim jackets with knights horses and Anime. It's just so much fun. I have had problems with the white paint cracking after many washings there is an additive you can mix to help the acrylic hold up but there is nothing like the look of an old denim jacket!
Do you SING when you SPEAK when you speak your NATIVE language Alpay? Or do you SING OFF CAMERA when you speak too? It's so distracting.. Lol. Its like sinus curve up and down and up and down loool
This turned out amazing! I actually painted my own denim jacket in the first lockdown (in the UK) back in March 2020. I painted lead singer of Years & Years, Olly Alexander and I’m so happy with it because it’s truly one of a kind. I definitely want to do another one in the future
Sanding acrylic doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Dried acrylic paint? It would be like trying to sand RUBBER. After all, acrylic is a rubbery, plastic material.
As a punk in the 80's I would bleach a square out of the back of the denim jacket and then draw with a pencil my design and then black marker. Had a few, mostly skulls. I did a great one with the album cover of " The Day the Country Died" by the Sub Humans. My point is I found it easy to bleach out a square rather than paint it white. My 16-19 year old self would have flipped if I'd known I could have used acrylic paint! Your obi wan turned out beautiful jacket though, I think I'm going to recreate my '86 jacket but with your method this time. I am going to bleach it though.
Wow!!! Your creative skills is exquisite! Love the editing style too! Plus very good background music 😍😍😍 im a big fan! i also created a video when I painted my denim jacket too! 😍😍😍
Excellent! You could take an Exacto/Olfa/mat blade or whatever, and gently remove that little bit of paint that snuck under the tape. It’s been a couple years, I’m curious to know how it held up, and if you washed it?
I think you did a great job. I think blue Jean is great to work in. T- shirt is the worst for hand painting. It’s so soft and just hard. I’ve been painting clothes for a long time. It’s fun and so many ppl buy it. I don’t post anything online. I’ve always been fortunate to sell what I make. Being productive is hard. I love to draw and deadlines or needing to make something takes away from drawing. It becomes a job. So I’m one who keeps to myself but I always have ppl who want me to show the world. I might but I have the fear of success. I’m learning alot from your videos. Thank you
You did great! I have painted many a Jean jacket and other items of clothing!! My baby cover alls were so popular my friend’s kept asking for me. But I do like using fabric paints a little better and then I have also used chalk paints. Definitely fabric paints for your style!! Thank you for your channel! I love it. Betsy
Your jacket is amazing. I'm not anywhere near the artist you are but I do enjoy creating painted clothing . I too have painted jackets over the years. Most frequent is Frida Kahlo's face on the back of a denim jacket. Then embellished her with beads and seashells on her jewelry and clothing.I've also painted on dresses I've purchased a at thrift shops . I'm inspired by you and will be doing more. Thank you Mr. Efe.
I’ve been painting on denim jackets for years but I am always learning something new. I agree with you and would have made the picture bigger, fading it out rather than having hard edges. I’ve just recently been enjoying the denim showing through a bit and don’t have to use multiple coats to keep that from happening. The only jackets that have cracked are from using too many coats of paint, not from any type of medium or paint itself. I do what’s easy and mixing paint with fabric medium is a nuisance, craft paint on its own works just as well. I always seal mine with something and still have jackets that I’ve worn - and washed - for years. This video was delightful, thanks!
This video is a year old so no one will probably see this comment. But the sentiment of making something yourself because otherwise you might never own such a thing, is exactly why i started painting with oil. I wanted a full Gallery wall of family portraits, but I'm not rich and can't just commission a dozen portraits on a whim, so i have to learn to do it myself. So far i I'm still learning, portraits are hard, but I'm seeing improvement with every piece, so yaay ~
I like that you just dove in with your own knowledge instead of doing piles of research! Don't get me wrong, I *love* to research, but figuring a problem out for yourself has its own satisfaction. I'll be curious to know if your jacket ends up cracking, or how it needs to be washed/maintained.
Bravo very impressive. Speaking of '80s, I had a painted t-shirt sort of an Egyptian style motif of various lines with similar and different hieroglyphics on them and shapes. I liked it so much that I got a cheap pair of canvas shoes and painted the same style on the shoes. I loved wearing that combination. Eventually, the shoes got donated but I do still have the top. It's in pretty good condition. Perhaps, I will have to paint another set of shoes to match it. Looking for the next time you paint on denim. Blessings.
amazing ! Cant wait to see more videos like these i was glued to the screen for all 8 minutes!
thanks buddy!
OHMYGGADD! my both idol 😍🥰 please collab soon 🥺💘
look who's hereeeeeeee. Love your content and art too SLEW! Good luck with the move to NY :D
Nice to see the face to match the voice. The end result was fantastic.
You putting on the jacket made me question my sexuality.
Confirmed mine 😂
Damn you painted it so well it looks like someones projecting that scene from the movie on your denim 😂🔥🔥
The editing on this video is fantastic and I LOVED that we could see you at the beginning of the video! 😍😍

🤣
Sooo awesome and refreshing to see your favorite artists voice finally in person! And love the result!! Thank your for inspiring me once again ❤️

I have a crush on you now🥺
😅
It just blows my mind seeing people be able to paint with acrylics AND oil
The real test is how can you make the painting resistant to washing?
Or rain. I live in Wales !
@@daikayll1897 That’s very true. Regardless, it’s a great way to update an article of clothing.
acrylic is permanent on fabric, even without a sealant or heat, as I've sadly learned over the years.

I know that the surface texture was frustrating but I actually love the texture that shows through, I like the vibe of it!
It's almost like the dithering in 80s video games.
It is awesome 😎👍👍very nice ~ It was like watching a movie😁😁
It's amazing and very realistic. Which paints have you used?
Winsor&Newton acrylics
