david coote on var for both Liverpool vs Arsenal and Everton vs City. Doesn't give Liverpool a blatant penalty. Gives City a penalty for a player smashing it at the defender from 2 yards away when it's going to hit his head anyway. A potential 4 point sway in the title race in 4 days.
It could have been a penalty against Arsenal but rules were actually implemented properly, Odegaard slipped so no penalty. And hate to say it but penalty against Everton was right too, hand was high and in an unnatural position
@@habesh09_zz He slipped. That means it is a penalty. The rules say it isn't in a very specific circumstances where the player FALLS. Sky have confirmed it should've been a penalty already. Stop trying.
I remember when everyone called us LiVARpool. Because poor ref decisions got overturned. That's why. Now they don't even get overturned and it's this sudden drama this season. Been going on for years but people are only seeing it now. Everyone called us delusional for years.
We get called Livarpool for the one season we won the league, where we still got less favourable decisions than spurs, city United and a few other teams as far as I remember 😂. The data is all there but people choose to ignore it because Liverpool won the league and they need a reason to justify it after everyone and their dog didn’t want us to win the league. So somehow delusional low IQ fans still think it’s the case when the likes of city and spurs have been getting dodgy decisions for years, no one bats an eyelid 😂. City have been getting a lot more than dodgy decisions as well
Thank you Mark for being a voice of sanity amidst the biased insanity. VAR has robbed many a teams and are artificially adding the drama to the beautiful game.
Nice one Mark. Saying this as a LFC fan. The one that got me even more incensed than the Odegaard handball was VAR overruling Elliot's goal for Salah being offside and in the keeper's sight. But they don't show that he was literally shoved onto that position by the defender. Once VAR make a decision that an offside is a referee's call, they owe it to show the full picture of how Salah got there in the first place. The intent of that rule is to prevent attackers deliberately obstructing the line of a keeper in an offside position. But in this case, there was no intent by Salah to do that, so VAR has to show the on-field referee the full picture to make him understand if it applies to the intent of the law and not just the letter. Otherwise now, defenders can get cute and shove opposition players in line with their keeper and claim offside. Just dumb.
Haaland vs Chelsea where he pulls the defender out the way to get goalside then chucks himself to the floor 😂 conveniently var doesn't show haaland pulling the defender out of the way just the minimal contact and him dolphin diving
Exactly this. Even more infuriating with this goal was the fact that VAR decided to get involved but conveniently didn't bother with the Gakpo goal that was ruled out in the first half where there was clearly no foul. VAR seems to have the freedom to pick and choose when to get involved, and that stinks.
The Burnley game was another example of shocking refereeing, they did everything they could not to give us a second goal. If we didn’t win that game then it would be another robbery
@@leogrimonprez4629 Yet, the Akanji one, who was in front of the goalkeeper, jumped over the ball, unsighted the keeper, was discussed by VAR, looked at for ten minutes and given. It was way worse. Do they think we are blind???
Not only was Odegaard's hand far away from his body, he was pretty much playing basketball, somehow VAR justified this as a natural movement while falling. He did not even fall.

This is the unfortunate truth. A team that should be about 7-9 points off top is somehow still 2-3 points off. And that's why they'll win it yet again. This era can't come to an end soon enough.
Really like the arguments Mark puts forward, he is spot on the officiating in the Prem. How Man City can be given a pen against Everton but Liverpool not given one against Arsenal is disgrace and just makes the Prem executives appear corrupt in favour of Man City. Big changes are needed in the Prem's officiating because it's making a mockery of the best league in the world.
As a city fan I have to say the odegaard handball was much worse, but you cant give city the blame that Liverpool didn’t get a pen. the penalty city got was a fair pen and it was given on field so the chance of it getting overturned was very slim.
This right here is the problem. The narrative that Mark is trying to portray is not only fundamentally wrong but is also unfair to City and their fans. You can call out incorrect officiating against other teams in the league without talking about decisions that other teams get in their favour. As long as rules will have subjectivity attached to them, there will always be controversial decisions and that’s something people need to understand.
Well said Mark The inconsistency of the VAR decisions is dreadful. And you are right it will impact on the title because city never have an adverse VAR decision against them.
I said this a million times already, that the only way to stop Liverpool from winning this league this season is through officials, corrupt biased officials and especially VAR.We have already lost 9 points through these VAR scandals..
Anyone remember a couple seasons ago when city won the league by 1 point because of a disgraceful VAR decision at Everton. Referees impacting the title race is just something we will have to learn to accept as an element of the chaos and luck of the game, nothing we can do about it really.
What was even worse is that Everton barely avoided relegation that season. That decision could've wrongfully sent down one of the oldest and most successful clubs in English football
Is it really chaos and luck when City are systematically the beneficiaries of these decisions for the past few years? Btw, this has been happening before VAR (getting rid of VAR will not make things better and I would go as far as to say it actually is their ultimate goal).
This is ridiculous. It is clear that City is the ONLY club that gets what they should not. I actually remember thinking to myself when it happened that if it was Arsenal, Liverpool or United they weren't going to get it. And now look I come on here and find this, im6glad im6not crazy.
Omg. The anti City agenda is the issue here. Player's surrounding the referee? Are you for real. United are the worst. You call city boring? Yet all the managers try to copy us. The biggest problem with content from you is the long line of dickheads who naively are influenced by your lies
Thanks Mark, as a Villa fan its really disheartening to see obvious fouls not given no matter who the team is, and even worse is when they go looking for something. VAR has now taken over the job of the on-field Ref. And the PMGOL responses after a review a 'sorry' we got that wrong. That frankly isn't good enough as there are too many. IF there is an admittance of an error, then I am starting to think a point should be awarded to that team by an independent board review. I would also like to see some analysis on how many players have been injured during play only to see the flag raised. Bottom line, we also need to hear ALL that is said in VAR. Trust has been eroded and IF the response is no, why not, what is being hidden?
Liverpool should be clear at the top, we have been robbed of 9 points and we are still competing with arsenal, yet some media outlets don't see us as title contenders, the fact city got that penalty last night is a joke with the same man in charge of VAR!!
I couldn’t care less about wolves but it’s really disappointing to see how they’ve been screwed. As a Liverpool fan, I feel bitter about decisions that have been made towards us but at least mistakes made in games played by top 6 get a lot of scrutiny. The fact every fan base feels slighted has made discourse so ineffective because fans are fighting when we should be focusing anger towards the PGOML, VAR, the prem, and how all criticism from coaches/players is punished
Scouser and liverpool fan here. We fans need a spokesperson. We need mark as our spokesperson. And our opinions need to be understood. If no fans came to football football doesn't exist. Mark as a fan has a platform that maybe able to grow.
I am a Liverpool fan and maybe my view could be a bit biased. But what I see on Liverpool games is match officials never hesitate when it comes to punishing or penalizing harshly Liverpool players in any given situation. The completely opposite happens when City plays. Match officials changing their stance and decisions in a split second the moment the pressure ramps up from the crowd or City players. They are so soft towards City but very agresive towards other teams and in particular Liverpool. It happened a lot in the past, but since that row between Klopp and Tierney in May the officials agression and stance shown against Liverpool got way worse. Not givin a clear pen against Arsenal and canceling two absolutely legitimate goals in the last two games tells you this goes beyond any error or misjudgement of the rules. It feels more like an agenda.
Yeah because the pen you got against wolves wasn't one of the softest given this season 😂 there's no agenda you typical victim it's just massively poor officiating across the board
I’m glad you say this Mark because Liverpool fans are not allowed. Because the ‘LiVARpool’ thing picked up when VAR came out because it’s catchy people think it’s an actual thing where we are favoured. We have always had the worse run of luck with VAR until probably wolves this season. It’s a joke.
CORRECT! Recent rule changes that create grey areas and then inconsistent application of those nw rules creates a perfect, no accountability atmosphere where fixing can be conducted with impunity. All part of the plan.
Thanks for covering this Mark. We've been scr3wed over in favor of the Elephant In The Room since 2013! It's getting ridiculous as everyone's becoming a victim of this more and more, every matchday. You-Know-Who seems to be immune to all of this, but the rest of us- we get call after call after call.
The blunders are monumental. The two matches Arsenal lost: One against Newcastle where the ball was out and Joe clearly pushes Gabriel. Two Kai Havertz goal disqualified without any "logical" reason. Really ...
Let's not forget the fact Everton got a TEN POINT deduction and City have received ZERO deductions.. That's been conveniently swept under the carpet hasn't it?
The city case is still ongoing. Just because they haven’t yet been punished doesn’t mean Everton should’ve got away with spending past the FFP limit at the expense of the sides that went down.
@@georgecox9964 My point is they doubled down on Everton which doesn't have the same backing as City and their lawyers. FA made the decision instantly lol. Rather than actually focusing 115 charges and setting a precedent for the League they would happily deduct points from Everton.

Thanks for being unbiased Mark as it should be looked at objectively. Too many fans jump through hoops justifying poor decisions when it goes in their favour instead of realising that it will happen to their team. Liverpool had three awful decisions go against them in the last two games. The Odegaard handball which only some Arsenal fans feel wasn't a handball, The Nunez non-foul against Burnley when Gakpo scored and Salah being pushed into an offside position for Elliott's goal. It's becoming a worrying trend now and also suspicious that one team hasn't fallen foul of poor decisions (they won the title when a correct decision about Rodri's handball would have probably meant that they would not have won the title). We've seen several titles won by a single point recently and getting the decisions correct is very important. You could argue that Liverpool have already been docked 4 or more points by VAR which is a huge hurdle to over-come.

Yes! That's the only way they can do. But I'll bet they're still going to brainstorm some dirty tactics to find a reason to disallow a goal. Pathetic tbh.

Brilliant observation that mate, I've noticed them peppering shots constantly recently but didn't think too much into just thought maybe they'd been given abit more freedom but that makes complete sense, klopp knows the system is against them so he's trying to give them nothing. City are in the same boat, my friend.
david coote on var for both Liverpool vs Arsenal and Everton vs City. Doesn't give Liverpool a blatant penalty. Gives City a penalty for a player smashing it at the defender from 2 yards away when it's going to hit his head anyway. A potential 4 point sway in the title race in 4 days.
David Coote is a Man Utd fan
Var didn't give a pen against Everton last night, did you even watch the game?
It could have been a penalty against Arsenal but rules were actually implemented properly, Odegaard slipped so no penalty. And hate to say it but penalty against Everton was right too, hand was high and in an unnatural position

Need foreign referees
He only hates City so you think he loves you. Haven’t decisions gone against City too?
VAR doesn’t look back far enough to see how Salah goes offside which makes it a disgrace for Liverpool.
The Burnley game was another example of shocking refereeing, they did everything they could not to give us a second goal. If we didn’t win that game then it would be another robbery
Yup, the fact that VAR somehow managed to convince the ref that Salah should be called offside on the Elliott goal is terrifying. And I am a neutral

And Man City robbed Arsenal at the Emirates that same season. I remember that game well

It is easy to claim an agenda but I’m with you because incompetence would have been stamped out by the PGMol
