How Did Germany Invade Norway? I WW2 Animated
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 лип 2024
- In April of 1940, German forces launched the lesser-known operation in the north to invade Norway, to save their iron ore supply, among other reasons. Watch my animated history video to learn about why Germany invaded Denmark and Norway, how they did it, and why the way in which they did it was so significant, and also the effect the campaign had on World War II for both the Germans and the Allies.

Sorry about that! I'll make a note of that for future videos! I appreciate the feedback, and I'll do better next time :)
@@chalkboardhistory Don't worry, it's mainly the the Scottish, welsh and northern Irish who get annoyed, us english don't really care coz we hate our country

The only thing about this great documentary that gets me a headache is your pronounciation of "weserübung" keep the good work up.
Sorry about that! I'll make sure to start researching pronunciations before I record my narration. Thanks for the feedback.
@@chalkboardhistory To be fair it is not the easiest german word.
Not just Weserübung but every sentence he finishes.
The animation's are very good though.
And Andalsnes is Åndalsnes;) weird norwegian letter
Amazing! Looking forward for more content
Thank you! I'm working as hard as I can on making more!

Sweet video! This channel deserves more subscribers
I agree! I am so surprised that he has so few subscribers, he is so good!
Okay, this video is simply mind-blowing. I sense that the algorithm will favour you soon.
Nice, but could probably feature more of the chase of the royal family. Oscarsborg made Germany lose 2000 soldiers on the battleship Blücher which were set to capture the King to sign a treaty similar to Denmark’s. Norwegian forces didnt manage to stop the german push towards Trondheim, but the Battle at Midtskogen gave the royal family more time to flee to Britain. You did cover the strategic part though and would be a quarter longer if u included this and Quisling’s coup etc.
Thanks! I definitely agree that I could have included more, but unfortunately, with the way UA-cam works, I can't make videos too long or they won't perform well. The chase of the royal family was quite interesting, I believe you're referring to the movie "The King's Choice".
It's amazing to think that one fortress could make such a huge impact on the Second World War. The delaying action on Oscarsborg would ultimately save the Norwegians from falling victim to the same fate as the Danish.
I can see that you videos were made with a lot of effort, new subscriber and thanks to the armchair historian for introducing me to this chanel
very nice video bro but keeping background music little low would be nice, keep it up
I noticed that too! Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to try and balance the elements a bit better next time.
Awesome vid man
With the voice i am having a mojo vibe, but all memes aside. Good video comrade!
Hey man really good vid! I really hope to see more complex stuff and reallllly hope this isn’t just another “animated history of ww2 that you already know” channel that panders to world of tanks kids. Keep up the work!
Definitely, I have a video I'm working on that's right up your alley. I'll be talking about western radio broadcasting across the Iron Curtain during the Cold War, and I'll also be analyzing multiple sources to gauge the impact it had. Stay tuned!
Chalkboard History sounds great! I can’t wait!
Nice, your content, the video was so interesting
Just came from Armchair Historians Twitter, I subbed and can't wait for new videos!

Amazing video!
Good one Waleed!! Well researched and articulated. Visual and sound effects are spot on. Maybe include a running timeline throughout the video? Just a thought....
umar rahman Definitely! I see how the specific dates and times can be confusing, and I can definitely implement a timeline in future videos. Thanks for your feedback.
Loved it!
Thanks, I really appreciate it!
Another great history channel is made

Thank you so much! I'm working on another video right now! Make sure to hit the notification button so you don't miss it. Production quality should hopefully increase across the board.
I’ve got here by searching “why Germany invaded Norway”. I’m glad this video exists, very educational. Now I know more.
One of the if not the best video about weserübung
Thanks for the kind comment!
Battlefield 5 music? Lol nice video
Good collection of information, and it's clear you put a lot of work into your presentation, but to be honest, your line delivery needs a lot of work and especially your pronunciation of German and Norwegian names and place names leaves a lot to be desired. In some cases it doesn't even seem as you tried, especially with Åndalsnes, How did that become Andaleese?
How can you only have 1k subs
cool
You have had this channel for more then a year it is ashame that the arm chair historian didn’t say anything about this channel
I liked it
Yes. Narvik and the iron ore was of course very important for the germans to get. But Norway was important for Germany to control/occupied in so many ways, strategic, fish supplies, salpetre, etc. Germany dont want Norway to be a "neutral allied" just like i WW1. But if Germany only occupied Norway they would get full of all norwegian resourses who was very important for Germany get in WW2.
i love it
Wow, this is very high quality content. Good job!
You definetly need to get more subs, like germany in ww2.
*crickets chirping
Fine...I'll see myself out...
Lmfao😂😂 Karl Donitz approves this pun
Love the Battlefield V theme song
What is the music name of the video?
I have talked to you on discord so much 😂
Germany's top secret plan number 15: Burger King foot lettuce
Is that the music from Battlefield V ?
Poggers channel love how it’s similar to armchair and pog
Hey Chalk!
where is the music from?
4:40 music name?
You might want to tone down the background music a bit. It was drowning out your voice a few times
Good to know - I'll be more careful about that in the future
Im sorry but armistice? I cant ever remember hearing about a armistice between Norway and Germany in 1940. The Norwegian government fled, along with the Royal family, to Great Britain and continued the war from there. If there armistice was between Quisling and Germany (Which doesnt make sense because he was a collaborator) then he held no legitemate power in Norway
The Norwegian Command signed an Armistice which ended the fighting, after the British and French left, and the Germans re-occupied Narvik. You're right that I shouldn't have vaguely said "The Norwegians signed an armistice" in reference to the Norwegian forces. I think that's what caused the confusion between the Norwegian Command and the government, which did not officially surrender.
This is so good. Can you do something about Sweden in WW2?
I’ll add that to my list, but I think I’m going to switch away from the European front next time I cover WW2.
@su si Not at all, they were actually considering going to war with the Ussr to help out Finland, and there's plenty of situations were Hitler considered invading Sweden. Sweden actually had a strong military after 1943, so if Germany invaded Sweden it would be basically another Greece vs Italy, and after ww2 they had one of the best airforces in the world. So I would consider Sweden interesting during ww2.
Can You Upload or Borrow the Video of Rise of Napoleon|Animated History from Arm Chair Historian i need to watch it
Music is really good what is it
There is no audio?
Oscarborgs fortress didnt actually know if the Blücher was enemy or friend
lol the boats
Looks like I found another history animation channel
Here due to Arm Chair
Was it meant to be silent? I think there's something wrong with my headphones but I'm not sure...
The video isn't silent - not sure why a couple of people are having this issue. Maybe you could try watching from a different device?
Whered ya go?
This was very good! Thanks to armchair historian for the recommendation! Stay well out there everybody, and Jesus Christ be with you friends.😊
Love that you used Battlefield V music
It's great to hear that viewers are enjoying the addition of Battlefield music! It's one of my favorite game soundtracks.
Based BFV soundtrack tho
