I know it been a minute my good man. Hope you are all well. Grinding stones load up easy. Get you a nice aluminum/ steel cutting bit. It wont load but be careful. They do remove aluminum in a big hurry. Great ⚠️ should be taken. Then i used a flapper sander on a drill to clean it up. God Bless ✝️
Lol i only get time to work at night since i have no other time too. 90% of everything i do is at night and i couldn't afford cabide or i would have had one. The grinder bits were super cheap. The whole point of this is to save money but i do agree carbide works way faster
Yes there is no point in upgrading to 70mm throttle body without port matching the manifold you won’t see any gains if anything it’ll run worse than stock.
That thing runs like a scalded cat. I imagine if you took it to the dyno it would have a big bump in torque with that throttle body. I'm sure there's a good increase in horsepower also but I'm sure you feel the torque more. You may not need the lower ratio trans with the throttle body and 18 -- almost 19 pounds of boost.
my question is on your video , you swapped them out, how did you manage not to have any idle problems, because ypu just eliminated that connection from the old one throttle body ,.the bottom connection where that small hose goes to, for the water inlet, suppose to be for injectors,.on your video at 11.08
These throttle body don't have fast idle thermal valves like the 1988-1991 and 1992-1995 civic have. So the stock D16y7/D16y8 have none of that. I just bypassed the throttle. The coolant still ran to the rear idle air control valve so fluid still reached it. just basically put a straight through barb.
@@josephcarrasquillo4993 One thing in the 29years of being alive is to never expect anything. But i would like to be in the 13-12 second range. My ef hatch had less power and ran a higher 13 so i see now reason as to why this shouldn't be around that range.
James what intake manifold gasket did you use with the Z6 intake Y7 head combo? If I recall, the Y7 head/intake has two round coolant holes and the Z6 head/intake has one round and one square.
360CEA725 The cylinder head ports are plenty big enough for the z6 manifold. The cylinder head is a D16y7 which is a 1.6 the z6 is a 1.6 the d15 manifold I had on was a 1.5. The ports on the y7 head match the z6 perfectly
I have exedy stage 3 steel clutch in my NA d16y8 it is very new but it is sliping, what clutch do you think i can used.and my moto has a 70mm throttle body with a chip ecu.
@@TexasHondaChannel oh man can't believe the block held. Good videos man keep it going. I'm in the process of getting 1000cc injectors and a gm 3bar map can't wait to tune it.
1st off using the sharpie to mark material to be removed ? is this your first time ? use an old or a new GASKET. verify it is same size as throttle body and or larger. if larger port the intake and the throttle body to the new size. some throttle bodys can benefit from porting large some cant you simply gotta look for obstructions in flow and then gently massage them so as not to hinder flow. keep same general shape if your new to this do not change the flow path unless you know for sure this is what needs to be done. As in you read it from a speed manual or speed shop not from billy bob in back yard with a dremel tool.
This is called port matching. Who's new here?? You use the old gasket and sharpie . ? Because you need to take off say 6 mm like I do with my JDM h and skunk 2
Y8 is shorter fatter - looks bigger. but when opened the Z6 has equal lenght runners 1234 vs Y8 unequal lenghts. check SRDMotorsportsTV dissection of the Z6 vs VTi (Y8) intake manifold ua-cam.com/video/TtKG8vzCsNE/v-deo.html
if you compare the z6 vs y8 the z6 flow characteristics are smoother compared to the y8's sharper angle the z6 runners are BIGGER than the y8s. the y8 plenum is BIGGER than the z6. well either way swapping manifold is useless both are good till 400whp. the y8s runners are unequal length as well so in recent dynos 09-10 people have concluded that the y8 manifold causes #3 cylinder to run leaner than the rest. and over all isnt that much of an "upgrade" honda designed the manifolds to work with certain motors and head designs so stay with the same years of compatibility
@@TexasHondaChannel would be nice to see some dyno results between the z6 and y8 manifold to compare, any way that could be done ? Sweet video by the way :)

Thanks for shouting us out yall need parts come on by new cars everyday
FOR SURE!
You make me want to build one like I was doing before.
King Cuhhh yes! Do it!
That pull was FUKKEN SICK
Awesome DIY. Try taping the part that the gasket goes on to avoid slip up's. Also lets bring it over to the house so we can polish that joint up
For sure man good tip honestly. Should have thought of it myself lol
Another great video! I appreciate the content!
Shaun Anthony Not a problem appreciate watching it!

Sweet video buddy I'm going to do this mod to my intake manifold
use carbine tools to get the material faster then smooth it with the sand paper, but good job bro
keeping the d series alive
try carbide burr... it will cut it like a butter... and no need to work until night...

Khai Incharge I have one now but didn’t at the time lol
Thanks I really appreciate it I have a fake Z6 manifold 🤣 and literally came with my engine
Great video man
james styler thanks 😊
is this absolutely necessary to do for the throttle plate to open on a z6 manifold with a 70mm tb?

ghogue61 Yea for sure! I plan to get the short gear trans for even faster a acceleration and tq but yea the difference is noticeable without a doubt!
Thanks for the info i think i have one a my old engien,i will checking it for mm that you show me,thanks again.
I wonder if you got "that garage" to powder coat the inside of that intake with a gloss finish powder coat if it'd make a big difference in flow.
Highly doubt it. In order to achieve that effect, all you would have to do is polish the insides
Chris Hernandez I was gonna spend the 6+ hours polishing the inside but decided against it lol
@@chrishernandez2490 jw powder coating would be a much faster/easier method to smoothing it out.

where did the old emission hose go. did you relocate it ?

Like a 13 second
Any plans to go e85? Seems like with that high of boost you'd see some big gains.
sinformant I have considered it. I have everything to do so currently

Hello my friend nice job 👍 I have a question! In D16z6 intake manifold can I fit stock B16tb 60? Or I have to do port job on Z6im ?
Do you not need to port the head in order to match runners from the z6 manifold since they’re bigger?

so my question is you think a b18 throttle body fit in a z6 an replace the z6 throttle body no problem???

Hey did you ever tuned the car on that high psi ? I'm wondering what are your hp levels ?
No idea what the horse power is but on lower ignition timing and 8.8psi it made 200who so probably around 300. will dyno when i can afford it

I have a D16Y8 engine. How does the Z6 intake manifold compare to the Y8 intake manifold? Any performance benefits?
Y8 intake is better for turbo and n/a its the same preformence buy a 62mm throttle body from a b16 or b18 ther the same and make a lil power
Y8 is shorter fatter - looks bigger. but when opened the Z6 has equal lenght runners 1234 vs Y8 unequal lenghts.

How much hp will stock z6 pump and
Adakah ada yang menjual throtle body b18?
What size is that type r TB ? 68 mm ?
I measured it in the video
Is not.
62mm
Jesus what a turd. I'm doing a skunk 2 66 matched to my stock h22 manifold. Butterfly deleted manifold. I wouldn't bother any of it on a d series tho.
Also deletes the fast idle thermo valve
I’m doing an oem ported 56mm tb paired up to an oem Y8 ported intake manifold…. All on a d16 Y7/Y8 mini me…. Gotta save the SOHC
Is a z6 manifold better then a y8?
hatchy boy88 Indeed it is. Now the z6 and y8 are better than all the other d series but the z6 has the best flow over all others
In N/A motor The z6 is better at high revs instead y8 in the middle have more torque,
as for the turbo I don't know...
@@torretuning93 I got both and doing a turbo build so I'm just trying to see witch is best that I can get more power out of
