Totally agree anyone can make a mistake,I’ve worked on these type of vehicles for over 50years and over that time vehicle brakes have got better and better,if the parking brake had been properly applied there’s NO way on the planet I know of it rolling away down that hill on its own,if an air pipe had burst the spring brakes would have automatically applied themselves as soon as the air pressure dropped,if there is an answer to this I would love to know about it,someone has already said it could have been the air bag being damaged but everything is piped independently to stop things like this happening.
Damn, Could be faulty parking brake failed or driver simply forgot to put on the parking brake either way looks like someone is seeing the traffic commissioner oops.
Option one is he forgot the handbrake. Option two is he forgot the handbrake but the air was low so as soon as it built back up, it released the brakes. Option three is the same as option two except he mistook a brake warning light for the 'handbrake on' light. Option four is that the entire braking system failed. Me personally, the first thing I do instinctively is engage the handbrake. I usually double check before I leave the cab.

Parking brake failed. The lorry was at the top of the hill.
This firm has a television show with them moving trains
Train Truckers
As long as no one was injured happy days. Cars you can replace.
That leaking is the driver pissing his self with 😂😂😂
Wow, which country was this?
England
@@wildadventurers9067 Oh, just glad everybody is OK. Must have left his parking brake off. 👍
@TRUE COGNOSCENTI Yes, seems to be the case. 👍
If you think that fence is strong enough to stop a 44ton plus lorry, you are hugely mistaken. Most of been a fault with the truck. You can’t get out the cab with the engine off and hand brake NOT on without it giving you an audible tone
44 Tonne?? This is a heavy haul unit - the loco on the trailer alone is much more than 44..all up gross weight of well over 100 Tonne
@@garethifan1034 yup. Hence why I said 44ton plus because that’s going to be the minimum weight 😜
He`d left the engine on to build up air pressure according to another comment. When I drove for B and Q another hi-ab driver up North left his crane vertical and drove up the Motorway and hit a Gantry ripping off the crane. My manageress asked me if you`d be able to tell. I went yeah defo was he drugged tested cos an alarm would have been going in the cab(which you can sometimes switch off),the truck would have handled like shit and other road users would have been sounding their horns etc but he still did it.
The truck is running at STGO Cat2 which means that its Gross weight can't exceed 80000kg so 80 tonnes.
during this whole clip where is the Truck Driver ? He is either in a bad way in the cab or somewhere up the hill
Went off for lunch. Was nowhere to be seen.
Unbelievable.
good find 🙂
And here we are thinking this only happens in Durban, SA. Often ...
If only there was some way to see who owns the truck...

all those cars parked up next to a truck I thought they were all dogging
🤣
Its terrible. That companies not buying everyone a new car, they will have to go through their insurance. A lot of those look older stuff, probably agency rail workers parked up, looking at the orange jacket on the dash in the mini. My point is, those cars will be owned, not on finance or leased, you get peanuts from your insurance. If someone smashes my 07 plate Fiesta up, what do you think they give me? I'm off the road and that's it 👍
I agree mate. 👍
it was private property and warnings saying cars parked at owners risk
@@davegilson5796 WAWAW
No one will get any money off insurance company as their is a sign their drivers park their at their own risk
@@andrewthornhill4229 it's the same everywhere you go, supermarkets, retail parks, BnQ, builders merchant, garden centre, Harrolds lock Smith, any business car park, football stadium, gym, anywhere. If I'm parked at the side of the road and someone goes down the side of my 16 year old Fiesta, I wouldn't even ring the insurance, I'd have to repair it myself. They would write my car off with a dented wing.
I had a flat tyre in York, picked a screw up in Holgate Depots yard, I just got the car into Kwik fit as it went completely down, lad put it on the ramps, forgot to put blocks under to clear the plastic sills, broke them, not the clips, the actual sills. I took it to John Bee body shop, yes Richard, new cills, painting, fitting, £650 and that was 2019. I just glued them back on tight.
That's why I drive a banger. I'll only pay 4 to 5 k for a car and I always keep enough money in the bank to replace it, if I have to 👍
Professional company something must have gone wrong with lorry for this to happen
Apparently, the driver went off for lunch.
The driver forgot to put the handbrake on obviously, then after some time the truck started moving probably. 😢
@@manuegavave2043 but the engine was on. 🧐
@@wildadventurers9067 apparently he immobilized the truck but not in a handbrake and probably went out to do or to buy something
or the driver has fuc#ed up. It happens in our industry unfortunately.
If the air pressure dropped then there is no way the truck could have rolled. I think the driver forgot to apply the park brake.
What a story to tell your grand kids, the cars were in the way so I smashed them up 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
love how he speaks and switches to African...
Is there a part 2 or anything
is part 2 when they finally decide to call the police?
Parking brake!😮
No one attempted to open the door on the truck driver may have passed out it's my assumption parking brake was not engaged these things happen
People did try to open the lorry doors. They were both locked.
@@wildadventurers9067 didn't know that cheers mate
Damn, Could be faulty parking brake failed or driver simply forgot to put on the parking brake either way looks like someone is seeing the traffic commissioner oops.
Option one is he forgot the handbrake.
Option two is he forgot the handbrake but the air was low so as soon as it built back up, it released the brakes.
Option three is the same as option two except he mistook a brake warning light for the 'handbrake on' light.
Option four is that the entire braking system failed.
Me personally, the first thing I do instinctively is engage the handbrake. I usually double check before I leave the cab.
I'd say forgot to put the handbrake on
Possible, but why was the engine running? Mystery 🧐
@@wildadventurers9067 cos they jumped out without checking handbrake I'd say
That hissing noise was air leak from the brake system no engine running
the truck will have a dash cam but if something had failed it might not have captured it! Should be on the next series of train truckers...
Feel sorry 4 the truck driver me
Obvoiusly............the air brakes come unstuck !!!!
Wrong
😮😮 did the driver turn up?
Apparently the driver parked the lorry at the top of the hill, which is approximately 400-600 meters away. He went off for lunch. He turned up an hour later when the police were looking for him.
Did the driver show up?
Surely if it rolled down a hill, the driver would come running down after it?
Why was the cab locked and no driver in it?⚠️😲🤔
We were there until the police, ambulance, and firebrigade turned up. Which was approximately 10mins. There was no sign of the driver during that time.
..I don't think id run after that mate.. as much as you wanna save it, but the weight that is pushing.. is quite high.. and I myself don't wanna get caught by it
@@madmania056 Just curious why the cab was locked with no driver in it?🤔
I think it's a mystery mate. Nobody seems to know for sure what happened.
@PD Tech alot of hgvs I've worked on have a system when the vehicle goes more than 3 or 5 mph the doors lock.. could be on that or like you said a mystery
