Freebirds never got their respect they should have. Anyone of them would have make a great world champion.
True that the AWA and NWA dropped the ball on that one. However, when Mid South became the UWF, Terry Gordy was crowned as the feds first world champion.
Gordy won the AJPW Triple Crown Champion which is a world champion.

I read that Ray Gordy is retired from wrestling and is now a police officer in Atlanta.
Must have been around late 2000, I wasn't aware that Ray had started wrestling before his fathers passing but apparently he did

All the imagination of the NWA had was to mostly make Ric Flair champion for about twelve years while their better talent left and became high profile wrestlers.

Omg...this was some of the worst wrestling I've seen in a long time. Reason this failed was because they put so many people in that had no biz being a wrestler in the 1st place. These kids were just some of the horrible wrestlers they had. Jamie Dundee was one of the biggest idiots. Watching these kids throw punches was hilarious. Tbh I total understood why real wrestlers didn't want to be caught dead on this show. It was that horrible. The real skinny guys are the ones that made me laugh. It was just a very bad idea period.
