    Sophie, i have emetophobia which is fear of vomiting and honestly it rules my life, so I completely understand. It makes life so hard, and i know how exhausting it can be. Irrational fears are really horrible to deal with, and as a 22 year old girl with a full time job i really can relate. You're so inspirational for talking about it publicly. I love you and your videos, and they help calm me down when I'm panicking so thank you for being you!! ❤

    I have a constant fear of throwing up. It's called Emetophobia and being pregnant has made it so much worse but also easier to deal with. I think about it obsessively, won't eat when out of the house, panic when I eat out of the house etc. I completely understand your phobia, cause people always think my phobia isn't really a phobia. Big love to you♡

  • @StephyLB88

    I am completely with you with the phobia thing. I have a terrible phobia of stopping breathing, for obvious reasons. But like you said it’s something I think about pretty much all the time. Even though no one would be happy when they stop breathing I definitely overthink it more than the average. So much so it has given me anxiety disorder for the past 7 years. It’s always really hard for others to understand when they don’t experience it themselves.
    But well done for being able to deal with it so well and talking yourself down! x

    I have a phobia called emetophobia which is the fear of any and all things vomit related. Even though I haven't thrown up in ages, I'm constantly worried about it happening to either me or someone else. This phobia also causes me constant anxiety which causes nausea, which leads to more anxiety, which leads to more nausea, and eventually a full blown panic attack. I understand your struggle because I feel like I've gone through similar! Thankfully, I've been getting better. We're strong and can get through this!

    I have emetophobia (fear of vomiting) and can totally relate. People regularly say to me “well no one likes throwing up..” but they don’t understand that I spend 50% of my day worrying that I might feel or be sick, or see someone else be sick. Like you, I also avoid things that could cause me to be in the situation, like eating out, eating certain foods, eating with my hands, being around sick people, getting drunk, being around drunk people- the list goes on! Hope you’re coping with your phobia okay though, I have good and bad days.

    Hey Sophie, thank you for talking about your phobia. My anxiety was actually triggered by constantly fainting in public places a few years ago (like, every time I went out) and I can’t stand up for more than a few minutes without feeling faint now. No doctor took it seriously and just said that it was a phase. It’s not a silly fear, it’s very real and scary. I’ve never heard anyone else talk about this though so thank you again, and I hope you’re talking to someone about it. Counselling is without a doubt the best thing I’ve ever done. Love you💛

    I have that same fear!!! But it only started after I fainted one day at Uni and it was the scariest thing and now I keep thinking that I'm going to faint while driving. That's where most of my panic attacks stemmed from and I had to go back on meds b/c after that my anxiety got so bad it gave me severe dizzy spells and vertigo :(

    • @itsellianne9603
      @itsellianne9603 5 років тому

      heather_nicole whats it like being on the meds? I have the same issue but im worried about going on any meds for it

    • @deathbytechnox3
      @deathbytechnox3 5 років тому +2

      Ell It might be a struggle at first trying to find the right med (the first one I went on was Lexapro and it made my panic attacks worse and the second one was Paxil and it made me gain back the 40lbs I had just spent years losing 😭) so I stopped going to my psychiatrist and my general doctor prescribed me Bupropion HCL. It’s not as harsh as say Zoloft or Prozac, but it’s been working great for me - it also slightly suppresses your appetite in the beginning so it helped me lose half the weight that the other med made me gain!
      I would suggest asking your general doctor about Bupropion/Wellbutrin because that’s something that they’re allowed to give you since it’s used for people to help them quit smoking. Anything else you’d have to see a psychiatrist about and those meds have more intense side effects.

      I have the same fear! I fainted one day after school from extremely bad stomach pains. It was the scariest thing that ever happened to me. Now I'm constantly afraid of fainting even when it doesnt make any sense. Similar to you, I'm scared to drive because I find it stressful and I get dizzy when I'm stressed and I'm afraid I'll faint and get in an accident. It affects my entire life but I'm slowly learning to overcome it. Glad I'm not alone 😅💖

    I'm 21 and I used to suffer from the same anxiety problem last year after I had an illness that made me feel dizzy/faint. I'm absolutely fine now and I can promise you that you CAN overcome it, I never thought I was going to. My tips are to always carry a bottle of water around with you so that if you ever start to feel anxious take a sip of water and reassure yourself that you are okay and hydrated and that it will be impossible for you to pass out. I take a bottle of water with me everywhere! Another thing that helped me is listening to music, put your earphones in to distract yourself whilst walking about. If you start going out on your own more you'll then be able to tell yourself that you were absolutely fine therefore you can keep doing it and it will get easier each time! Hope this helps xx

      Well storytime to this, in hope to help you a little.
      I never had a tendency to health phobia. Until like 2 - 3 years ago, during my last highschool year. I was constantly sick for literally dec - july. I got , thyroid problems, my immunesystem was really low at that time and I just got every bacteria/virus infection that was out there. I felt really bad. (Esp. When I had to vomit, cause I am absoultely terrified of it, and that sadly remained to this day, I literally cry everything I vomit) well
      That was during about a half year, them I got some pills to strengthen my immune system again, and It helped. I was okay for some time, but something in me had changed, I had started to become anxious everytime somebody near got sick, I would try to avoid getting sick etc .
      Last spring somebody visited me and my family for some days and after that he got diagnosed with an illness that is very easy transmitable and the chance was very real that me and my family also got it, so that kind of was the very start of my health anxiety. (Also that person is literally my most hated person on earth and I will never forgive him. Never.)
      Well, a few months passed, turns out nobody got sick of it but my father still had to take some strong medication to prevent it from happening, still has to take them.
      I got sick again, sinusitis and

    • @almak3759
      @almak3759 5 років тому

      and tonsillitis. I went to vacation with it, and by that time, I had health anxiety, and I could not sleep, neither do anything else without the thought in my backhead always spiraling around. My thoughts would never stop, and just be there constantly, I was very worried and anxious and could only think about that. I got medication for the tonsillitis and it took me 4 days before I took them, due to anxiety of the side effects that it would have on my body. (I literally didnt have any sideeffects. I never did to any medication except for one sole time, and it was just for a few hours. Other than that, never had any side effects of pills) and yet there I was, very anxious of it. But the tonsillitis went away, and I was so damn happy that it worked and thought, I did it, I do nt have that anxiety anymore. I was wrong. After that, I would always look into my throat to see if yhere was something. I would also get anxious everytime I would feel SOMETHING in my body.
      I got a cyst in my armpit during summer 2018 and I thought it was a lymphnode and I panicked so much (I panicked alot bcs of lymphnodes in my neck, and anywhere really, just a bit ago I thought I had one swollen in my collar bone and thought I had cancer -> I got over that pretty fast though, since I dont have that anxiety anymore) always the thought of having cancer or something else, it really drowned me. Always that underground panic. Whenever I felt something in my body, it could even be an itch only, and I would panic. I went to see doctors a lot,my house doc knows about my anxiety already. And I was literally healthy, I did quite some blood taken and analysed etc, and my fears were never being actually true.
      I honestly did overhtink so much, up until the point that I overexagerated. I had that specific anxiety for some time, until I couldnt stand it anymore, I thought back to the time where I was younger and didnt think of anyhting like that (I always thought colds are nothing, and theyre gonna pass quick. I never even gave them a thought) I was helpless, and restless and scared, and lonely.
      Until that point, I realized I needed to stop. I needed to stop to think so much, to feel so much, to overanalyze and stop with my habits. I stopped looking in my throat. I realized there were really no symptoms at all, maybe a few of my thyroid problems, but I ironically never worried about that, cause I weirdly thought 'thats not so bad'. Idk why I never thought bad of my thyroid problems, which I actually had and yet I was worrying about things I def. Didnt have.
      I started to change the way I think, I tried to tell myself that I am not ill, and that I dont have an illness. I am okay. My body is okay.
      And you know what? It worked.
      It took some time, butI dont have ANXIETY anymore. Not health anxiety anymore.
      I might still fear a bit somewhere sometimes, but its def. Not that extreme as it was, and I can forget about it again, and just stop thinking.
      And I am so much happier now.. I still have a long way to go, bit I just try to tell myself everyday that its not as hard as I think it is..

    Hearing you talk about your phobia reminds me so much of myself, i have server anxiety, depression and PTSD but my anxiety has the biggest hold on me for nearly two years. Also i have Emetophobia which is a fear of vomiting, to the point where i do not leave the house , avoid social situations and i even quite my job because i would have panic attacks every day. I also know how you feel when you say you that your anxiety makes you feel faint which is your phobia, when i feel anxious i start to make you sick which then makes me feel anxious about feeling sick so it just goes in a big circle. I would love it if you made videos about your anxiety or mental health! PS i love you and your videos! xx

So I totally understand how awful that is. It makes me not want to go out on my own. I would love actually to chat to you about it! When you said you are self conscious about your nose it really hit us hard, we are a joint UA-cam channel and we are sisters! We both (since UA-cam) and my sister before have been really self conscious about our noses as they are slightly pointier and longer than the “average” and we have been picked on for it in school which has really taken away some of our confidence. My mum also has a slightly longer nose and always tells us that we don’t but it’s hard to understand that when we look back at our UA-cam videos and see it sideways. Honestly, I’m saying this because we think that your nose is absolutely normal and you shouldn’t feel the need to be self conscious and of course this won’t make you feel less self conscious about it as you can only really understand it when you feel it (if ygm) but just from someone else’s perspective we thinks it’s fine!! We love your videos and hope you read this comment ;) ☺️💗

    Thank you for opening up about your anxiety! I have panic disorder and anxiety too. My panic attacks also spur from my Health I always think I’m gunna have a heart attack/faint/die/stroke. It started in December last year and I was having panic attacks daily. But I’ve been taking propranolol & having CBT and I’m improving now! I’m having a couple panic attacks a week now which is sooooo much better. I started getting into makeup and UA-cam videos to help distract me. just thought I would comment as I'm a 2nd year psychology student in relation to one the questions asked, your type of anxiety disorder comes under phobias generally and then specifically a phobia of fainting. Glad to hear that you can cope with your phobia a little easier, it's definitely hard though! Just celebrate the wins no matter how small they are! Sending much love and positive vibes 💗

    I've fainted a few times in my life, each time for very different reasons. And after one time -it was during one of my classes when I was in high school and after that, I was really anxious it would happen again. Anytime I felt even slightly light headed or felt weird I would think, "oh no is it going to happen again" and started to slightly panic. Not full blown panic attack, but a bit and it took a while to get that fear under control again.
    Fainting is a super strange experience, and I don't share this to feed into your fear-that's the last thing is want to do, I just hope to let you know that I can relate and I validate you and what you go through. Its super frustrating when people make light of legitimate struggles you have, so just want you to know I feel for you! ❤️

    Omg what you were saying when talking about your panic attacks, I can relate to. When I feel anxious, I feel sick, but feeling sick makes me feel more anxious which once actually made me have a panic attack (I was ten years old btw) So I can understand totally what you are saying. Also, my councillor told me a few weeks ago that everyone she had spoken to/helped over the years she been doing her job, had NEVER actually been sick, which made me feel better.. I guess, haha. But, she also said that when you are anxious, it is impossible to faint because of all the adrenaline kicking in, your blood levels are to high for you to physically faint. I’m not a doctor and I know this won’t suddenly cure you of anxiety but it’s just what I have learnt.
    I love watching your videos ♡ 😙

I have to live with it day to day. Had it since 2012 and tbh I’ve learnt to know what the triggers are (dizziness, blurred vision, sick feeling) so I have to sit down and breathe slowly. I have really bad anxiety too so getting panicky is horrible.
