Love the off centre pivot point where the legs cross. These little stools look like classics even though they've only been around for 5 minutes. Good stuff.. Thanks for the video. Cheers, David
Perfect example of excellent DIRESTA video. I don’t have a plasma machine nor am I thinking of making these. But I always learn something. When the of the seat wouldn’t come together, I would have never thought of putting a piece of plywood underneath to raise it up. Just that little thing made it worth it for me. Also I can see me using the rivets. Thanks Jimmy!
I have this cool folding single post stool made in the 1930's, it's made from lacquered bamboo and balsa wood and has an ad for a piston rings brand on it. You balance on the single post much easier than you would think, and it easily holds my 1/8th of a ton ass. Anyway, It would be supercool to see a steel version and it could still be made fairly lightweight.
Such simple beautiful lines, each material in its rawness making the bond between nature & human refined natural. Fit for Royals the world over & such an antidote to all the Covid troubles. Thank you so much for cheering me on this dark winter day when the sun was mostly lost to the clouds.
Those are top choice. When I was a child, we had seats in this style made of wood and canvas. We called them our camping stools, because we used them when we were camping. 👍🏼
Jimmy, when Willie said "Pay attention" it rather strongly reminded me of your "Table Saw Tool Tips". Your best advice for avoiding an accident was "Be present". Same thing. Good advice from both of you. Beautiful work, brother. From the pre-visualisation in software to the copper rivets!
@@jimmydiresta Watching you make stuff over the years has been super duper incredible fun. Sage advice as in "pay attention" or "be present" can change a person. Thank you, my friend!!!
You should make three of everything, Jimmy. It’s amazing how fast you work ad hoc, but seeing your methods change over three identical is even more interesting still. 👍
Jimmy I’ve gotta say your videos are my favorite thing to watch ! I find myself watching old videos in the New York shop just because they are the originals and awesome , gotta say too the belt loop key holders are awesome !! I’ve got three of them now haha ... thanks again
I love the way you always are reaching for new skills in different types of craftsmanship and artistry. It’s so fun to watch your level of expertise grow.
Cant remember if it was answered on your podcast, but campaign furniture was the stuff british officers had to buy for themselves when they went out on campaign to foreign countries. It was all meant to be super strong, portable and easy to fit into shipping crates. Thats why most of it had metal reinforced corner brackets and handles that were all recessed to sit flush with the surface. These stools are pretty cool btw
It’s been a great journey so far to follow you from the basement in New York to your new beautiful workshop and using new tools, while keeping up the traditional Diresta work alive. Great job as always!
That's a good look, black steel and dark red leather. You had me scratching my head on how you welded the hinge pin before it struck me that you welded it to the outer leg pair and welded the inside spacer washers. Such a simple and elegant solution. That is why I love your videos
I think I Might make some of these. I still really want to make the 3 legged stools that Taylor made a couple of years ago. These just look easier to me. I like that you didn’t see the leather. Much more attainable.
Wiiillliiieeee !!!!!!! Educational /Entertaining .. get use to me saying that because it's true !!! Great little folding stool set there . Stay well Taylor, Willie, all the 2 footed and 4 footed and you my brother
Very cool little stools- I especially like the leather seats with the copper rivets. However, the tiny feet would quickly sink into softer soil. We’ll have to keep them on concrete or hardpack.
Excellent video about these DiResta folding stools in steel and leather, my respects and greetings from Venezuela. Excelente video sobre estos taburetes plegables DiResta en acero y cuero, mis respetos y saludos desde Venezuela.
Well done Jimmy, I made one myself with added Canvas side pockets to hold gardening implements. I used a pre-existing frame though, I don't have a plasma cutter 😂
LOVE seeing the design played out on the plasma cutter (?). This is what a Maker does!

Here in the Pantanal we use a lot of these benches, but we make them out of wood. Nice job Man 🇧🇷🇧🇷
My dad was a leather smith in the 70s through 90s he was well known. He would have liked your work.
I could sit for hours and watch you build!!
The timeless elegance of the DiResta brand strikes again.
The adobe illustrator going at high speed with the music is dope. Love the creative flow of this.
Baldor bench grinder is a beauty.
Always love the mix of old and new technology and different media.... beautiful job 😁
Jimmy I always seem to leave your channel smiling thank you so much
thank you!

Great Campaign style design. Stainless steel and black leather would look nice, like a Barcelona stool
Those are pretty cool! The legs look like tong blanks.
Thanks Jimmy, your videos bring a bit of joy to my quarantined life.👍👍👍
This would make a great flat pack kit.
Looks like an item you might want to sell. Simple and classy. Great job.
This feels like a "DiResta version" of Taylor's furnitures. Clean thin lines with leather, but with the added forged texture and rivets. Dope!

Thank you 🙏🏼
Willy! I'm so happy to know he's still helping around the shop. Awesome project, I like the simplicity
3:11 I've started saying "Thank! You!" with the same inflection you use when I'm on conference calls... nobody gets it, but it makes me smile!!
Years later, when these are worn out and old, I want to hang one on my studio wall..
Amazing and elegant work Jimmy! 🙏🏻

I'm 💯% Convinced. That there is nothing this guy can't Create. 👊
Cutting steel like butter

Classic color combination. They look both delicate and sturdy. Love it.
I love these multiple material projects and to see your creative skill combinations. Thanks from Colorado.
You are the best at what you do. As a person from Kazakhstan, I tell you this) Thank you for the experience.

The best thing about this stools is that you can use the structure as tongs for your forge. Priceless in a zombie apocalypse scenario
Probably smash in a zombie’s skull too 🤷♂️
They really look fantastic
I love the look of these, They sort of remind me of black smith tongs. Has a familiar look to it.

Very nice design and build. I like the color contrast between the steel, leather and copper rivets
Love the simple collapsible design. Excellent QA testing at the end too! Lol. - Jim

I'm glad Willie told me to pay attention, or I might have missed that antiquing gel. Nice effect...almost seems like gun bluing. 👍
Simple and beautiful. Simply beautiful.
Cool styling with the leather and hand-forged texture.
Super cool, as always. Also, I like the drums.
Wonderfully simple and elegant Jimmy - Thankyou
Nice industrial look to them.
Very classy and elegant!!! 👍🏻
I have the sudden urge to watch Coming to America after listening to your background music 🇦🇫🇺🇸
Top class 👍 love the design and the process. They look like old machine parts repurposed. Just beautiful
Excellent camp chair Jimmy. A true inspiration

this is nice to see, I wasn't the only one who uses illustration programs to create technical drawings.

DiResta Folding Stool: Built to last...

Beautiful design
I'm going to give this a try using baltic birch plywood for the legs.

appealing. I would have liked to see two tones of leather maybe but very nice shop additions
👋🏻👋🏻 Willy & Taylor too, ❤️ to all on the farm
Fantastic soundtrack!!
Simple and sophisticated at the same time. I appreciate the whole process!
I like the copper rivets and they are easier then sewing.
Beautiful simplicity! Gorgeous work!
Very cool chairs!!!
Beautiful work, as usual, Jimmy. Thanks.
Simple and beautiful.
This is awesomeness! I just picked up a big roll of dark harness leather yesterday I'm going to make some benches for the house!
