LOve this vid ...have watched it many times before this gave me the inspiration to make my own shop stool !! I drew a template on the cement floor of my workshop put down some re bar and weld it it together, which was also my first welding project! I as a beginner am totally amazed at what can be achieved! You are my mentor, thank you Jimmy x
I think I saw a tear drop fall to the floor from the old stool. Nice job. That stool will be around for 100 years. Your son will someday make a video of how to reproduce it in all wood. The cycle of life....
My kind of project . Nice technique on metal band saw and table saw . As a good teacher you always showing several ways to do stuff ( this time sending and grinding metal ) . Love it . Thank you Jimmy !
Lovely industrial & practical look, like it is part of a crane, topped by a splendid piece of natures home grown strength showing both the grain of the wood & the steel in an harmonious partnership. Thanks for sharing!
i'd recommend stools with three legs. Because they never wiggle, no matter where stay stand and how uneven the floor is. But it's an awesome looking stool.
Dominik Sennfelder and a true/square “4 legged stool/table” can be rotated on most uneven floors and will stop wobbling at some point. No wobble, but can be a slight tilt. (works at cafes only if the legs are adjusted evenly)
I mentioned this before that I was amazed that your welds didn't look awful considering your lack of prep for TIG welding. But it also looks like you brazed instead of welded so maybe that is how you get away with it. That and while you were filing I did see a bunch of porosity so there is that. I understand that it's going to be ground and it's not "structural" in the same way as a bridge or auto body but wow. Not a dish, I do a lot of building with black iron pipe because it's cheap and available and I have never gotten TIG to work worth a damn without cleaning the metal to bare. I'm also not doing "structural" so ugly can be OK and grinding is my friend but if you have a secret I would love to know what it is because it would save me a TON of time. Seperate from my amazement, Very nice build. I have been doing three legged stools in my shop since the floor is not very even and four legs always rock.
Great job jimmy! The sounds of your shop are so relaxing, ever thought of making a bed time recording? Delicate sounds for the little ones and subconsciously they yearn for the sounds of work.
If there's one thing i hate making from wood it's chairs. They are finicky to deal with and errors accumulate towards disaster. So metal chairs, because of that, are certainly up there for me in terms of preference. And this one, is a beaut.
Beautiful work as always. My only thing... I would of had to weld up the angle iron joints under the seat before the wood. I know it’s plenty strong enough, just my ocd kicking in.😂
jimmydiresta This was a great project thanks for sharing and for creating this amazing channel you are awesome...Keep up the great work you do just love your builds...A+A+A+A+A+
Jimmy what boots do you wear could see they had the red print on the back but can’t find them anywhere could you lead me in the right direction love your vids by the way watching from Yorkshire, England
Hi Jimmy. It’s been quite a while since I posted a comment on one of your videos, but I still watch them all with great pleasure. So just a real quick question for you, if you have time. What’s the main deciding factor on using TIG or MIG? Materials, size aesthetics? Cheers. 👍🇳🇿
Mr Diresta, why do you use a metal push stick? Is it a safety cue? When I saw that I thought, oh, that would make me be careful. Ps, I miss the videos with your brother. Ps's, awesome chair leg jig!
hi dear Jimmy, my name is Fabio and I am a dear fan of yours and I am writing to you from Italy, I follow all your videos, I wanted to ask you if you could make a knife with dedication, how can I send you photos, I have no measures but just photos, do you ship to Italy? I'm waiting for your answer, bye bye great.

"Diresta Classic" aka "RERUN". Just as good as the first time! It reminded me of the importance of making JIGS.
I think I saw a tear drop fall to the floor from the old stool. Nice job. That stool will be around for 100 years. Your son will someday make a video of how to reproduce it in all wood. The cycle of life....
Classic DIRESTA on a TBT - so many tips and tricks packed into a what looks like a simple project - it's what makes these older videos great
You are a great Man Jimmy. Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you.
I love the work you do Jimmy. Most days I just wish I felt well enough and had the energy to do wood working again. Keep up the good work.
Amen to that!
You mean keep up the "wood" work ;) *wink*
Beautiful, simple, strong and useful! Thanks for the inspiration for so many years.
Simple and at the same time elegant work. That's what I missed. Now with great pleasure I watch your videos.
Sensacional as duas técnicas que você utilizou na serra se bancada!!!
Always amazed at how you make things look so easy. Pure talent.
My kind of project . Nice technique on metal band saw and table saw . As a good teacher you always showing several ways to do stuff ( this time sending and grinding metal ) .
Love it . Thank you Jimmy !
Yeah he really sent it.
Lovely industrial & practical look, like it is part of a crane, topped by a splendid piece of natures home grown strength showing both the grain of the wood & the steel in an harmonious partnership. Thanks for sharing!
I love all your builds, but I really like ones like these that seem doable for even a doofus like me. Very inspiring, thanks Jimmy!
Love how simple you make it look.
I love the table saw tricks! Beast!
Jimmy, I love the way you use tools beyond their designed purpose. And how use production techniques.
This one will hold for another 25 years atleast! I like your welding skills!
One day when someone will ask me what I’m doing for living I would like to say “I’m DIRESTING stuff”
Great work!
So very indiresting.
I remember watching this video but I watched it again.
I learn something new every time i watch your videos Jimmy. Thank you!
Мастер- золотые руки.👍
Love it Jimmy, simple but effective.

Love your work Jimmy, even a simple shop stool makes for enthralling viewing
Jimmy, I think you misunderstood. When your doctor asked you for a stool sample, that's not what he meant.
ASFP I’m glad we didn’t get that video.
Jimmy, I never get tired in watching your videos. Even when the video is old or new, your talent really shows it all.. Great work, pal!!

Professional, thanks for sharing Jimmy
Wow! that was some great use of a table saw. Very nice project as always. Keep up the inspiring work you do.
Love these classics Jimmy! Obviously that stool was built to last. Nice work............
Great job jimmy! The sounds of your shop are so relaxing, ever thought of making a bed time recording? Delicate sounds for the little ones and subconsciously they yearn for the sounds of work.
Old school baby!!!
Nicely done! Loved the wood/metal combination.
I'm a long time fan of your channel - and it's always interesting to see your projects. Very nice work.
Really beautiful job, man... Fantastic! 😃
One of my fav videos!!!

As always Jimmy love the show and great job on the project
Couldn't ask for better. 😁

Killer boots man
Looked like fun to make! I was wondering what was the filler rod? It looks like brass or silicon bronze.
Hi Jimmy !This is a real DIRESTA classic !Great job !😎👍👍
*Muito bom*
I finally found a way to leave a like, two times on a DiResta's video :)
Jimmy what boots do you wear could see they had the red print on the back but can’t find them anywhere could you lead me in the right direction love your vids by the way watching from Yorkshire, England
Good job!
Nice build!
Norm Abrams saw this and he switched from coffee to whiskey, straight up...
Great, I heard someone told me it may be TIG welded, right? - Amazing your speed of progress while others just go sightseeing.
Jimmy, I challenge you to make a pizza oven.
TY
on which you can sit
Thanks Jimmy!@@
That’s the way to do it 👍🏼👍🏼😁
So where is this stool now? Do you use it?
(Great to see these videos consolidated into one place!)

Still have this? Love the solution for the nail in feet.
Nice.
Beautiful. Is it for sale?
me encanta!
steel stool stayed strong in stability stest
say that five times in a row ;-)
Love it.
This is great. Why TIG? For more aesthetic welds? I'm just starting learning MIG, so don't know much about welding yet.
Comment from 3 years ago?
Uploaded then, published now.

You need to change that license plate to ”I assemble”. Just kidding, cool looking truck. Did you remove the front parking sensors?
Just good
WELL DONE
jimmy I made something with copper and i like the shines of the copper but after some use of my thing oxidise, have you any solution ?
Mr Diresta, why do you use a metal push stick? Is it a safety cue? When I saw that I thought, oh, that would make me be careful. Ps, I miss the videos with your brother. Ps's, awesome chair leg jig!
Structurally is there a difference between round stock and angle iron for the foot rest?
You've changed, you used to make iphone straps. ;) Cheers!
👍👍😎☕
Jimmy😎 👍
Jimmy why did you leave the voice over out? I realy like the old video with the voice over
The best stool was the Rat- Stool ! 👍👍👍😘👌👌✌
👍
Fire!! :)
you need to add 4 holes to that wood

Jimmy what are you doing up at this hour?
Ever thought of making a Luban stool?
#classicDiResta!
I wonder if someone can explain the bevel at on the bottom of the stool seat for me? I thought it was going to be on top instead of the bottom.
I need more videos
You forgot the bum imprint in the middle!!! The indent in the centre of the seat for the bum!!! NNOOOOOOOOooo
Why not just hit the joints with the rotary burr from the start rather then using the file?
おちょうど上がったのか。
