If her viewers are who “made her” than why not give those same people the answers and truth they want!

I still have two major issues with her apology video.
1) She is still using the phrase “less than perfect lipsticks”. Which is the understatement of the century. The lipsticks were a catastrophe. OWN IT.
2) She still is calling Veronica “the first girl”.

It was completely rude of her to not use Veronica's name but my guess is she doesn't even know her name.... Like I'm sure she was given her name but immediately forgot it.

I heard recently that the parent company that makes Tylenol handled the pr after their product was contaminated with cyanide so well that their strategy is still taught in business schools. I feel like JH handling of the lipstick launch is going to be taught for the exact opposite reason... This is what absolutely not to do.
At the time, the assumed was that Tylenol was done as a brand. They developed and gave away the technology that allows the sealed boxes and shrink wrap around the caps. I think they also did a bunch with lot tracking. It’s not so much that they did PR, but they did the right thing and shared the tech with companies who were likely to be their competitors because this problem was going to destroy the OTC pain market. Consumers woulgo to their doctors and the FDA and demand that pain pills and other drugs go back to prescription only.

The PR was good, yes, but they also just did the right thing. They pulled all product everywhere and made sure everyone knew. Then again, that was more life-threatening than this.
I went to business school and it still is talked about. The company handled it the correct way and showed concerns for their consumers welfare.
@@elizabethbutler35 Johnson & Johnson also recalled Tylenol and offered full refund to customers who bought ANY of their products (not just Tylenol). Their quarterly earnings were terrible but by the end of the year, they’d turned a profit. It’s studied because no company had ever gone above and beyond like that before and it build up public trust
Her as a CEO reminds me so much of the type of managers hardworking employees hate because they literally don't do shit and get away with it all because they have the title of "manager".
Some people aren't meant to lead, that's all i'm going to say.

Then they scramble and are terrible to employees below them because they don’t know what they are doing.
The kind of manager that will come over to you during down time, chat with you, laugh with you, get to know you a little. And then call you to her office later and give you a write up for being unproductive and wasting time. Lol

SHE on the other hand was always whinnying about her new husband, the "stress" of buying a new house, and would even breakdown and start crying at work over personal problems!🙄
Jaclyn Hill might as well just call it quits. Nobody is ever going to trust her again. She is finished and has nobody to blame but herself.
Her fans are so naive, she's going to do just fine in other releases.

Jaclyn Hill’s lipstick launch was (by far) the worst makeup product launch in the last decade, maybe ever. Not only that, it was a BRAND launch that has went down in history for being the worst makeup brand launch EVER.
Exactly! honestly the thing is I’m not even mad about the lip sticks being contaminated, shit happens just recall and start fresh. The issue I have as well as many others is the way she handled the entire situation, blows my damn mind...
breanne cowgill I completely agree! Products turn out bad all the time. Shit happens. But everything that happened after everyone knew they were contaminated (from the batch codes to how she reacted/didn’t recall) was complete garbage.
Not to mention the most ridiculous explanation I've ever heard. She made it seem like her quality control team loved the fluffy gloves so much they just flapped their hands all over the place distracting them from their job and causing the quality control issue. Kinda a full circle moment that just makes me laugh when I picture it. Hard. I mean she could of given them her affiliate code for morphe's anti fluffy face scrubber gloves and made their day and saved her launch.
It’s SoOoOoOoOoOoOo manipulative to bring up the “connection” to her followers. Maybe at one point she had a bit of self awareness, but I think it went out the door awhile ago
I was in the car sales business awhile ago and she displayed all the manipulating tactics I was taught (I didn't last long at the job). The video was pure manipulation! I guarantee there will be a new product release in a month.
Ugh I hate to hear that! I know car sales people are not the most honest sometimes, but I've noticed that a lot of people I went to school with are making a really good living at it. I was thinking about giving it a shot but I don't think I can be aggressive and manipulative.

TheNocturnalpheonix we should “knock their hustle” if they’re using manipulation to sell. They’re selling people stuff they don’t need. Potentially putting people in debt. It’s a bad, bad system and needs to change. Hyper capitalism is causing a massive amount of the issues in the US. It won’t change if it’s just seen as what people need to do to get by. It’s rarely that. It’s people making more money than they need at other people’s misery. The op said the people from high school are making a lot of money. A lot of money scamming people. (I’m not digging at you personally btw, you obviously think it’s wrong too, but the attitude of “it’s what people have to do” has to change or it’ll keep getting worse).

I don't think and never thought that Jaclyn Hill is as naive, innocent and unaware of any issues as she portrays herself to be, I just don't think she would have gotten this far in the industry if she was this naive, but she plays this part very well.
She plays naive when it's convenient, and then plays the smart perfectionist expert in makeup when it's convenient to her.
When her Becca eyeshadow palette had a few complaints for being bad, she took credit for it being pulled back because she told Becca to do it. But when it comes to all her other collabs or products, the product is bad but suddenly she has nothing to do with it and suddenly she is not such a perfectionist and so involved in everything.
So either she has to be more honest of her involvement with her products or just take responsability for everything good and bad.
And I Ooop-....I was waiting for you to post something haha. I already know we'll be on the same page about Jaclyn Hill.

Did you watch the video yourself? She took FULL responsibility. She said it MULTIPLE times that she it was her fault for not having enough quality control and she worked with the wrong people. She’s fired & hired new people. She refunded EVERYONE even if the didn’t want one. What more do you want her to do?

The whole charity thing was simply gaslighting her audience to make them think the lipsticks overall were good.
she said that “so many people told me not to make this video and let things blow over” as a manipulation tactic. It was a way to make her look authentic, like she is willing to do the right thing at any cost. She is such an inauthentic person and it shows.

I don't think she can make a video about the truth, no matter how many people are calling her out and demanding it, because they DO deserve it, she owes it to consumers/other influencers/ppl in beauty industry.
I dont think she can make it because her and her team have lied so much that if they do back pedal and release the truth of what happened and the documents to prove it, it would release something they are still hiding and trying to avoid.
It REEKS of lies, inconsistancy, and continusous manipulation of consumers and followers (with youtube supporting her 😉). It still doesn't sit right with me and I hope at this point now there is a class action if they can find basis to move forward with it. I hope consumers and viewers of youtube realize how much these large influencers get away with and hope they take their viewership elsewhere to someone more deserving.
Remember when Tati released an hour long (!!!) video after her first Halo launch drama? The reason Jaclyn didn't do that is because she knows she cannot stand by her product and defend it. She knows she f***ed this up. Tati felt confident about her bold launch, therefore she was able to address EVERYTING.

It reminds me of what emotional blackmail is when used by a loved one but on a much larger scale.
