This is why I don’t trust influencers who have done bad things time and time again to grow she’s done bad things and not been fully accountable for them and now she feels that she can just walk over anyone

This is so disgusting to me!! I’ve followed Kalyn for YEARS. And, yeah, she didn’t trademark BUT if you type in Koze into google, Kaylyn is a top hit. I stopped supporting Jaclyn a long time ago and thank god for that, honestly. The grace and tact that Kaylyn has had during this is unmatched
Jaclyn could have once she noticed Kaylyn had a business with the same name changed it even if it wasn’t trademarked, but chose not to.

I was really upset as I watched this play out a couple month's ago. And I'm sorry, I do believe that Jaclyn knew about Kaylyn. She made sure to point out that she looked into many names. Then of course, she had to have seen that Kaylyn was All Things Koze. I truly believe she didn't care. And once it was most definitely brought to her attention, she never addressed it. People were making comments on her video's and Instagram posts. And she just carried on like nothing was happening. Weird. Just weird. Thanks for your thoughts and Happy New Year Isabella!!🎉

She totally knew! She made sure to throw in there that everything she looked at was trademarked and basically saying that since KOZE was not trademarked, it was okay for her to use. She may have done something legal but it was definitely not ethical
In Jaclyn’s video she makes a point to say “everything was trademarked”. Kaylyn mentioned that was a business mistake of hers- she had not yet trademarked. I think jaclyn saw an in and took it. Which honestly, makes it even grosser.
It breaks my heart even more because Kalyn seems to be so genuine, and she handled the entire situation with so much kindness. Jaclyn Hill has proven time and time again she cares about nothing but money. I'd love to see a deep dive from you about all her scandals, because, boy... There have been so many of them.

I've always gotten mean girl vibes from her, and with her various scandals, I can't say I've ever had a favorable opinion of her. I'd def watch a deep dive. She's just been around for what feels like forever.

The slippers are absolute TRASH. I’ve posted videos and photos directly on her page and her company page and I can’t get a response 🤷🏻♀️ She specifically stated they wouldn’t shed. These slippers come apart in FULL ON HAIRBALLS. It’s fking awful. I guess that’s just one more issue she won’t address smh

I'm actually a long time viewer of Kalyn and new viewer of yours! I own OG KOZE merch that is now vintage 🤣 And I feel like we all watched Jaclyn back in the day when her first palettes blew up. I don't watch Jaclyn anymore but I never will again, extremely disappointed in her. Kalyn just announced her rebrand today: oursundayspot and myfridayflow (her yoga channel)! 🎉

I used to watch JH too. But she has left a sour taste in my mouth with how she has handled all of her scandals. Or lack of handling I guess. I love kalyn though. And I'm happy to hear she has her new rebrand now. 😊
I've followed Kalyn for years- I was so shocked to see her video about the whole situation. I've never really followers or known much about Jaclyn, but I really think, if they had done the due diligence she claims they did, this wouldn't have happened. I hope Kalyn is able to rebrand in the way she likes- worst timing ever! Her baby should be the highest priority, not rebranding her entire company and legacy because someone didn't do their homework.
I hope so too I can't imagine how much Kalyn has to change just because of this.. so heartbreaking.

I think Jaclyn is a ruthless business woman. I am sure her and her team knew but probably thought that Kalyn dropped the ball by not having trademarked the name. I think its why Jaclyn hasn't addressed it either, bc what can she even say... A shitty thing to do, but its business. 🤷♀️ Idk when people started expecting multimillion dollar corporations (which is how I view Jaclyn, she herself is her brand and business entity) to be ethical
What bothers me is that we know she watches drama channels that have covered this and the comments cover it so she has for sure seen it and has not publicly addressed it. That is sad. And if she hasn't seen it someone she knows has im sure...
This video deserves more views!!! Love your perspective and agree with so many points. I too stopped supporting Jaclyn, not why this happened but because once again, how poorly it was handled. Not even addressed by her 😔
Trademark or not, taking the name of a business speaks volume to the business owner that Jaclyn is. She consistently runs into ethical issues, and, at this point, I’d steer clear of supporting her and her myriad of businesses. It’s a no for me.
When I read "KOZE" as a german, I think "Kotze", which means vomit or puke. No association to coziness or "gemütlichkeit" at all. I think this name suits Jaclyn very well. And I hope Katlyn will find a new brand name soon.
Had the same association with an MLM product called Klärity, all I see is Klärwerk 😂 (sewage plant)

I totally sympathize with small businesses, but she really needed to trademark her business. What Jaclyn did is not a very kind thing to do, but that is the entire purpose of a trademark. People are cutthroat out there. Jaclyn is a whole problematic mess, but this is probably the least scandalous of her scandals in my opinion!
Yeah I'm no fan of Jaclyn, but trademarks and copyrights exist for a reason. And technically, Kalyn uses the phrase "All Things Koze" with an emphasis being "Koze" on merch.
The fact that Kalyn is in Canada and Jaclyn is in the US doesn't help though.
I gave Jaclyn a chance after lipstick gate and purchased a couple lip oils from her after hearing so many great things. Long story short I was less than thrilled with the amount that you get and the quality of ingredients for the price. and after a few weeks they started to develop a chemically smell, almost like nail polish. And then this whole thing came about and that was the nail in the coffin for me. I don't care if Kalyn didn't have a trademark or of Jaclyn did or didn't do anything technically illegal. This just isn't how you treat people and I can't support it.
The fact, that people still give Jaclyn Hill money. It's not the issue with her lipsticks, it's the way she tried to cover it all up and then took no accountability for it.
NB: I just watched a video about Gary Young on Briannah Jewel's channel and I feel the same about people still giving Young Living money.

Jaclyn was one of the first creators I followed regularly. I supported her time and time again..... It sucks to see someone get so big from hard work... Then cry victim everytine she was "wronged" just for her to do it to someone else.

I was a huge Jaclyn supporter before all this happened. So sad to see an influencer do another so wrong with such ease. I feel she said it all in her video when she stated “everything was trademarked” unfortunately she found the one that wasn’t and ran with it.

When I first heard of Koze and what was going on, I googled Koze and the small creator popped up. There is no way Jaclyn and her team just so happen to miss it. It was done purposely without any regard for anyone else.
Clearly you have empathy. There are many people who cannot empathize. It is a not matter of them chosing not to -- they just don't have the capacity. Those with the inability to have empathy for others have a different way of looking world and it affects their actions. You're absolutely right she should never have ripped off the name just because she could. Most people won't because they know it is wrong, unfortunately there are other people who don't. They don't lose any sleep over their exploits and when it is brought to their attention they honestly can't see it. It is an important life skills to learn how to spot out those types of people and protect yourself from them if possible.
Kaylyn is more graceful than I am. I would have left my stuff just the way it was for awhile atleast and maybe she could have sold enough stuff to Jacklyns fan base due to the confusion to afford the legal battle that she probably could win. She was done sooo dirty. I really feel for her.

And FYI, not specific to just this case but EVERY attorney will always tell you that you have a shot regarding a lawsuit regardless of the truth. Attorneys want money an get paid no matter what. If I sell hats, I will always recommend wearing them, attorneys are no different, they sell time, they will always say u need their time.
Man whatever attorney she was talking to was gonna take her for a ride. Our firm charges like 5k for the same process.

But with her history of not giving AF about anyone but herself, I think she's to blame. But also, she could have named it something else but chose not to and posted passive aggressive things on her IG story after. Gross.

Sadly this is why you really have to trademark. Because greedy and unethical people will steal your ideas and names and branding if it isn’t trademarked.

at first i was just mostly listening to this video and my thought was "well, you can't expect someone to look at every single person who's used the word cozy" but seeing that it's the EXACT same spelling, aesthetic, etc?? i think the absolute minimum if you're going to start a business that has a specific spelling/trademark is to google it and see if anyone else has used it. i think jaclyn got super lucky in that she chose to steal from like the nicest person ever who chose not to trademark it and just let her have koze and to rebrand without even trying to sue for compensation, which she could have.
This is so on brand for Jaclyn.
The only thing where I'm kind of like oh well is because she says that jacklyn hadn't trademarked yet so technically she could have still trademarked AND kept her brand AND Jacklyn would have had to stop. She decided to rebrand and start over. I don't like jacklyn never will buy anything from her and think she's shady as hell WHICH is why if it was my brand I would have fought for it got it trademarked and made sure she had to start over
Jaclyn is just like her father in my humble opinion. She has no humility, she has no code of morals or ethics that she follows. He father was a Christian pastor I wanna say, I can't fully remember, but he had a savior complex && used going to Africa to like avoid taxes... he is also a big mess tbh. But when I learned that EVERYTHING about Jaclyn started making sense.... maybe they just genetically are wired to have a high level of narcissistic personality traits && are both just low on empathy scales....

SHAME on J. Hill, AGAIN !!!!! She continually repeats her greedy selfishness and acts as though she’s the victim (kinda sounds like a couple that once resided in England and now not). I too thought that J. Hill’s channel content was good. But, when she began creating and selling makeup products, it just didn’t seem right for some reason. Then watched the reviews released by some makeup UA-cam creators and after the other each of their complaints pertaining to the products (lipstick and other items) containing items in them that shouldn’t belong; their notifications to J. Hill was very poorly acted on. In fact, J. Hill sometimes placed blame onto the consumer, she really didn’t seem to take responsibility for any poorly created products; and due to her sickening actions I opted not to purchase anything from her as well passing the information to others I knew.
With the comments and big deal that she made about explaining the name, I feel like she was completely aware before. I also think that she saw the comments about it too. I just think she has no decency between this and everything else she has been involved in.
She really knows how to avoid accountability huh 😂

Jaclyn has always been a scammer and has shown her audience many times that money comes before everything. I’m not surprised she did this. She’s shown who she is many many times.
Interesting topic! I had no idea Jaclyn launched a new brand. I agree that Jacyln's team should have reached out to Kalyn if they were made aware of the situation. I wonder if they actually were? It sounds like they only received one comment on a post before they launched. On all of Kayln's accounts that you showed I didn't see one mention of Koze (was that from after she rebranded?). Also, what did the brand sell? You mentioned that she does not currently sell loungewear. I wonder if because it was a noncompeting market it was not really looked at (there are other businesses in different sectors with the same name). I feel bad for Kalyn; it seems she has been put in a very difficult position. As a smaller creator, she does not have the privilege or financial support that Jacyln does. Though, I do not think that Kayln did her due diligence if she wanted rights to the name "Koze". She said her brand went untrademarked for five years. It sounds like Jacyln's team was picking a name based off of trademarks and since she did not have one, I could see this being an honest mistake. If Jaclyn knew & continued anyway, that’s a really rude move.

Jaclyn will never make money off me. She's scammy/shady and TBH her price point is offensive compared to the quality. Like I compare it to less than drug store...like dollar tree kids make up.
I used to follow JH yrs ago and stopped after lipstickgate. Funny enough, I decided to ck in today, and see if she ever chgd and became a good person. Sad to say, the first thing that popped up was her stealing Koze, and I realized that a snake in the grass is nvr going to chg and will always be what they’ve always been - a snake in the grass.

I won’t buy from Jaclyn Hill. Not only did she do this to the Koze created but her jewelry designs are a knock off of Melinda Marie. She literally did videos in the past talking about Melinda Marie jewelry and how it’s her favorite designs and low and behold many of her pieces are literal clones of Melinda Marie jewelry. Jaclyn won’t get another dime of my money. Also anyone who says anything negative about her gets shamed and she says it’s hurting her mental health. 🙄🙄🙄

That’s a very good question. I 100% think she should have before. I think she stated how when they brand started Jaclyn didn’t have a trademark filed on it yet. But the legal battle had she filed it first would have been expensive.

I disagree and I'm not even a fan of Hill. The other girls brand is "ALL THINGS KOZE" But pronounced koz, hills brand is "KOZE" an pronounced cozy, it's different. If both of them could spell correctly we wouldn't even be having a problem 😂 The reason she can't sue is because she pronounces it differently. It's the same as two companies that sound the same but are spelled differently, like soap an sope, in this case spelled the same but sound different. Also ppl keep forgetting to include the "All things" in her title, it's just not the same. I would agree with the things ur saying if not for the facts.
So disappointed in Jacklyn for this!! However, I am so excited to have found Kailyns channel because I LOVE her coffee chats, hoping her channel continues to grow and get some love out of this sad situation!
