"Should you play in ESO in 2024?" proceeds to *not elaborate, somehow glaze the game but not ACTUALLY say anthing positive for almost 20 minutes.* worst "in 2024" review of 2024.
@@WeisheiTM as someone who played eso on both release in 2014 and in 2024, i can confidently say the correct answer is no. dont play it. it is a waste of time. it was dogsht on launch and its not much better now. quests are boring as hell, main story is awesome but the way its presented is so small. when you find out that the portal to coldharbour is opened and daedra are pouring into tamriel destroying everything you expect grand battles like in the trailer, but in reality its so small scale it makes skyrim battles look like helms deep lol. graphics are also really bad. they are somehow worse than the old republic which came out 4 years earlier and is somehow 10 times better in every way even tho its been free forever and eso charged us all 100 dollars on release just to play it for a month. bethesda has been taking L's since then. eso was garbage, fallout 4 was bad, 76 was a abomination and starfield is somehow worse than mass effeect andromeda lol. i have 0 expectations for es6 and im fairly certain it will be another step in the wrong direction.
@@master.simargl I haven't played ESO for some of those reasons, but I feel the same about recent Fallouts and the direction of future Elder Scrolls games. Do you think we are expecting too much considering Bethesda itself has never gotten Fallout right, and has watered down ES with each new iteration? Now they're recycling the same mechanics with further degraded quality into other games, Starfield as you mentioned, basically as a substitute for Elder Scrolls. "Skyrim in space" as a marketing tactic was definitely meant to bring fans back, and it was a steaming staring shogpile. My expectations for ES6 were monumental up until 2018, now my attitude is more of a "I hope its playable". 7 years of hopes after Skyrim, and even Fallout 4 with mods is fun for a while; stamped out by whatever they're doing now. dammit todd...
Cracks me up when I’m doing something in the middle of nowhere where nobody should be and some guy goes running by doing who knows what. Very cool aspect of eso.
i was playing in Cyrodiil during the whitestrake event, and some nord stumbled into the battle, wearing absolutely nothing but a bucket for a hat, and using the drunk personality. everybody stopped fighting to hang with them. name another MMO where something like that can happen.
They really should do a big graphics update like WoW did a few years ago. The game is showing it's age. Updated models and animations would be awesome.
I enjoyed eso alot. Can be played mostly solo. The open world bosses and dungeons are great. Nothing like chuging along in a dungeon and come across another player
I'm not big on doing group content, reason I love Morrowind so much is bc of the solo story aspect and character class system. Am worried I won't be able to play to max level solo like I do Morrowind.
@@Sevatar_VIIIth The overland content is designed to be done by anybody. Like, literally anybody. You can easily complete all the story content with no gear and one skill on your bar with 0 experience.
Perfect analysis. Also side note: I love the mega server too. As an Eve online player since 2003 I was super surprised to find out that most other MMOs have multiple servers 😂 so eso was a very pleasant surprise in that regard
The first thing I noticed, and is probably my favorite thing, when I started playing seven years ago is that when you go into a town and do a story quest to effect that town, every time you go back it is changed according to the quests you did, and the people talk to you that way to. I love that, the feeling that I am actually making a difference in the world. My second favorite thing is how everything levels, it just feels good and rewarding.
This had been my Favorite game since 2014 when it came out and Still play it. I just switched over to pc from xbox and I lost everything but Still I hit that grind & still going get it all back. This will be my favorite game of all time no matter what!
Same here I changed to pc a few years ago and was gutted I had to start again, I did get max level in a couple days but I just can’t get back into after the amount of money I sunk in to mounts and stuff
Just started playing last week and it’s no Skyrim, but I still really enjoy the exploration and the sheer amount of content there is here. Think I paid like 25$ on sale for the collection up to necrom and a month of eso plus, so far It’s confusing at times but very rewarding
I have decided to start a new character and play the game like Skyrim, im not going to worry about getting BIS gear and just going to play very very casual and only use gear found overland and no dungeon, trials or pvp
In my opinion that’s the best way to play the game. Returning players or even new players get so worked up over best in slot gear and what’s the best race to pick
@@JereCo837 thats true, when I was really grinding it was all about BIS and running trials every week, dungeons every day, farming crafting material etc....now its just 1 character doing each zone and doing a dungeon a day.
I play like a new player, because I solo, and don’t have the skills for BIS gear even though I’m lvl 800. This new character, I’m unarmed with a companion like Skyrim. It’s very relaxing. When I’m bored I just change the appearance of my avatar or create a new one. It would be nice if you could buy class change tokens, instead of starting all over.
I like eso and have played it on and off for years across pc and console. That being said, the class system and combat is the weakest part of this game. Every single class feels like a mage at the start and once you get a good rotation down, it just becomes boring to me.
I much prefer GW2 combat. It has more of a flow and has layers to its complexity that you can find. Or even ways to simplify it for yourself if that's what you're looking for. I do like them both, but gw2 feels better to play
@@jackiechanswaghonestly my favorite combat was Ultima Online. A little dated, but the combos were much different than traditional “rotations” to maximize dps. That’s the name of the game now.
When it first came out I always flat out refused to play ESO, but now I am enjoying my time playing it, even got the latest expansion. I used to grind the crap out of WoW, so this is a nice alternative to that. Currently playing it on my PS5
@@syrphilipgulmatico5352 I'm not a noob but I still use the 1 bar Oakensoul. I'm not a trial sweat and 1 bar builds are fine for anything up to trials. Could I have a better DPS parse? Of course. Do I care? Not one bit.
As long as the crafting bag is behind a pay wall I'll be staying well clear. The monetization in this game despite the 'optional' subscription is egregious
Tbh the fact that people say paywall and eso in the same sentence is cringe asf. You pay 15$ and get 1500 crowns (15$ worth) all DLC which runs between 15-30$ each, all previous expansions (except the current newest one) 10% bonus to crafting xp, player xp and gold drops, an unlimited crafting storage bag and exclusive crown store deals and free items. Not a single other game with a subscription offers anything close to this. Most others you pay 15$ just to be allowed to play on top of buying the game and all expansions.
the "crafting bag" is a front for them to make money. sadly, an mmo needs to make money to stay in business. would rather pay for eso then something like ff14. in eso a monthly sub earns you all the dlc access.
had this game in 2018 but couldn't get into, reinstalled it and I'm playing through it having a blast right now. I recommend it if you are looking for the yearly mmo binge, this should be it. Movement feels little like Oblivion, so it has that classic experience i remember
@@YunjiRyzenabsolutely I had a 3 month period during covid where I played it every day for hours and hours, sadly having no friends to play with and working ridiculous hours got in the way of the grind though
I think I've tried playing ESO about 4 times, once on PS4 and the rest on PC, and bounced off after about a month or two (or less) each time. The combat style doesn't really appeal to me all that much, and I find the story uninteresting. It's probably the lack of a crafting bag that keeps me from even playing casually without a sub, because crafting is usually a large part of what I do in MMOs.
@@giovannifigueroa2658 absolutely - and mounts, cosmetics, everything! Especially with the craft bag only available through a sub. The only good in game rewards are crazy trial trifecta achievements for super sweaty (and advanced) players. FFXIV does this really, really well - you literally earn everything in game. ESO crowns/loot boxes are highly predatory and not having more in game rewards makes me not want to play. Necrom had some cool stuff to earn, but I think they need to backtrack and add more rewards in for zone completions and vet dungeons.
I actually hate the gw2 reward system. It's all a participation token. They even time gate it to try and keep their newer zones from dying instantly after everyone gets their new participation skin. They're catering to the most casual of casual players and as a result everything feels cheap. Everyone's walking around with legendaries. Everyone looks the same with their ugly infusions, because that's just what they can use as status symbols. Lock some damned rewards behind actual achievments. I mean real achievments, not "do this event with 50 other people just by standing here".
@@syam8827 I haven't played enough to see that, but that's a bummer to hear. I just like that you buy the game, and can earn everything else in game, that gold converts to the cash shop currency.
I was never an MMO gamer so even though I've been gaming since the 80's, I never ventured into WoW even games like Runescape. ESO popped my MMO cherry and to me it is my comfort food when it comes to gaming. Although, when ESO changed to world scaling I found I never felt powerful, ever. At least while leveling up new characters to max level. It ruined the experience for me.
I played this game for 6 years haven’t played it in like 4 now, but recently I’ve been thinking about playing it again, I played on x1 in past, was hoping they made it where we could transfer to pc but sadly they haven’t.
I love Zenimax's control system. It allows use of a game controller to access weapon skills and spells in a much more fluid way than actual elder scrolls games like skyrim. My overall experience with ESO is similar to yours, and it has provided me more than 1500 hours of fun. I will emphasize your point that is a game that is easy to get into for a while and then hop back out of for a time. The addition of the follower system has provided a boost to solo play as you can compliment your build with a follower with different skills than yours. Overall the solo play is relaxing even with sub par builds, while harder content really does reward SKILL over just gear. I completely ignore paid loot crates and do not miss them.
I love absolutely everything about this game from the storytelling to the world design to the PVP systems, crafting, dungeons and trials.... But I hate the combat so much that I can't ever play it. Stamina DPS? Then you are dual wielding and using a bow and half your skills are identical to everyone else who wants to play stamina DPS regardless of what class you are or you are just worse. And then once you have your same as everyone else build it's all animation canceling light attack weaving and is so boring.
I actually love animation canceling bar swapping and light attack weaving. Its gives you more to do while in combat and when I play a game that's only skill skill skill its boring. Pushing damage on the target dummy is also extremely satisfying.
you are speaking about an old meta. plus, its a bad approach to chase the top % meta. that is for veteran trials, vet arenas, and score/achievement pushing. you can play however you want and if you find yourself struggling with difficulty, you can seek for a group or guild to help you. as a solo player, you can play eso like its dark souls, but you need to build your stats correctly.
I am not sure why active playing such as light attack weaving and intricate targeting vs tab mode would make the experience boring. But to each their own.
If you can/wish heavy invest your time, you can PAY ONLY FIRST TIME, next you grind by doing dailies, I have 9 upgraded chars for dailies and 50 mills gold from it - it means about 15k crows. Go to ESO store and look what you can buy for it. And from time to time there is sales - I buy last chapter Necrom for 33 percents of inital price. But also you have to buy all capasity chests and think about good items management strategy, because you get a lot of cheap trash - think what store in bank/chars/chests and what sell instantly. Dailies for 9 chars - from 30 min to 1 hour. + surveys, which is fast, but when doing a 50-100 like me, it takes time :) + there is another way farm gold - farm very expensive items from veteran content like style pages, which price can be 1 milion or even 4 milions.
@@advdraugams9531 there are tons of dailies across various zones. What quests do you specifically recommend? Right now i can only think of alinor dailies where you have a chance to get lacquer (armor style) which costs 8-9k each
Ive had the game in my library for so long but never gave it a go until yesterday really and started with bleakvile isle i think it called? Beautiful snow island and enjoying my expierence so far ❤ did a random zone ice man quest and was loving every second haha
if they were to release two new magic weapon types, they would go way up in stock. its the most glaring issue. at the very least they could implement a weapon resource morph so you could use true viable spellsword type builds
Ive often told people to make sure they start the Coldharbor questline as soon as they can. No other reason than John Cleese! You get to hear him early in the quest and its hilarious. ALso the voice of the main guy sending you on the quest...well I wont spoil anything but you will know his voice as well. I love the voice acting in ESO!
I just came back last week after being away since 2019. Wanted a fresh start but I quickly went back to my main character seing how much new content there is. The game has so many things to do, there is no way I have time for it all. I got ESO+ and began working on the dlcs I missed, Elswyr north and south I just finished. Moving on to western Skyrim. Definitely worth picking up in 2024. The game doesn't feel like it's 10 years old at all.
Combat in this game is why I don't play it. Not because it's action-based, but because it's all about skipping animations. Which makes it look ugly, like I'm playing some number spreadsheets instead of the game. I want to see how my characters makes a combo, how he lands a hit, how he moves during the fight. And not just passive effects and damage he applies in 0.3 seconds with 10 skipped swings.
Yup and the fact that he just glosses over it saying people are "Nay sayers" is pathetic. Like just admit you're an ESO fanboy and get it over with. ESO combat is trash, it's always been trash. It's not "floaty" nor is it a "skill issue", it's the fact that I can play Skyrim and the combat in that feels better than it does in ESO. They released 3 years apart but yet ESO feels like shit and looks awful. It looks like you'll hit something just to find out that you didn't, it looks like you didn't hit something just to find out you did, then you have to weave in light/heavy attacks for the weapon you use which makes 0 sense because why is that a thing? It's an MMO, not a Single Player game - stop pretending it is. ESO is geared towards playing it as a Single Player game and not an MMO which is just sad that people continue to defend it acting like it's the best game ever. Even Veterans hate the combat, they only come back to the game because they wanna try something out only to end up dropping it again. I started ESO on release, it was a buggy and glitchy mess - it's still a buggy and glitchy mess when it comes to the combat and the Devs refuse to fix it because of children who are paying out the ass.
@@jeffreyjenks8000 Tell us how players "skill" makes the animations look better? On the contrary, more skillful you are, worse it looks. Which is opposite of rewarding.
Mechanically yea, there's a skill ceiling to it that makes a huge difference especially in pvp. But it just looks bad and feels very robotic... There's a reason WoW updated their animations where hit looks, sounds and feels very smooth.
I couldn’t get into its combat system but when I got the rotation and combos down its actually fun. The best part of eso is the gearing system, it may have unbalances but grinding for gear sets and combining it with other sets feels rewarding.
this game truly is a masterpiece. i recommend it as a hybrid of a single player/co op/ mmo. not to mention, the pvp is amazing when you're not lagging. there is lag in pvp, which sucks but i have yet to find another pvp experience as addicting. the quests are interesting and immersive. the dungeons are full of beautiful art and difficult combat. in my opinion, builds and character refinement is where the game shines the most. so many unique combinations are available which make eso a neverending experience. some prefer to stick to a build thats strong and never change it, but even so, you can find a decent build and do most content with it. on the mmo side, its not hard to find a good guild or group to run difficult content with. the soundtrack is absolutely invigorating. the farming and trading aspect is also quite fun. the cosmetics are unique and unlike any other mmo. if you choose to play eso as an extension of the elder scrolls games, it is a must play. overall i rate it an 8 out of 10.
Ive been loving the game but i cant imagine playing without the craft bag. Its essentially required to subscribe to enjoy it for me. Inventory management is painful without it
very easy to play without. i have all DLC in the game owned, i haven't used craft bag for years. there are addons to expedite depositing all materials into your portable bank crow.
Feel like these always come out a week or 2 too early since we always know we're getting a sneak peak at whats to come every Jan, by week 3. If you ask a vet, the new content is what decides whether they stay or come back at all. For a new player, it's always worth it, there is a ton of content. The endgame, cookie cutter design, lack of pvp support, and reward structures are the biggest issues plaguing this game for years.
one thing i gotta give props to the dev team is the fact that if you get the deluxe edition you get every dlc so if you have no idea what DLC to get just spend that extra bit of money on the latest DLC and you'll have every other DLC that you can experience and then you can just wait ages for more DLC and buy the latest DLC deluxe edition to get all the ones you dont have
This game is my perfect MMO on paper, but the combat feels horrible. Spamming abilities and weaving light attacks kills it for me, and there isn't weight or impact behind any of the attacks.
True. Add to this, stressful and clunky gameplay with 75% of skills, not really smooth gameplay for dps. I love ES lore and all content of ESO but gameplay and the code architecture server is terrible (laggy).
The reason I've never played this game, and I say this as both a massive TES fan and an MMO fan, is because of the insanely aggressive cash shop. If ESO had a cash shop more on the lines of WoW or FFXIV, and the game itself had more compelling rewards, I'd start playing asap and probably never leave. But unfortunately, that's not the state of things now and probably never will be.
You can play without even buying things at the cash shop. For 5$ for a key of the game, you ll have hundreds of hours of game to play without paying for any dlc
Also, the titles you get next to your name are unlockable, which means some titles are easy to get and others very hard. It is another way to flex I guess 😅
2024 being its 10th year should come with atleast Minor graphical and engine upgrades. Maybe some Changes to The main pvp area too. Wouldnt complain if they added WoW style events like sundays fishing tournament or the one that places a chest inside an arena a few times a day for everyone to fight over.
i use to love this game.. What anoyed me was the changes they made what feelt like every 3 month. You could play a build you love and a new patch boom play something els. Dunno it got too mutch for me with all the balancing
I am just jumping in and going to start a new character to be ready for Gold Road. (I lightly played a few years back) I am going to play through all the Necrom content to get ready. I am really hoping once I am done with Gold Road though, that I will be able to find people playing the old dungeons/raids-trials so I can group up with them and do them. I am always worried about finding people for content that released many years ago.
Honestly if they rehauled entire combat system and loosened on the one of the most predatory monetization system I wouldn't look any further. Too bad they never will, since there are many people copping that it is fine as it is.
Combat I think is okay, but the monetization I agree with. Feels like there is more to earn in the shop than in the game. It just kills the reason to even play.
Downloading ESO as I write. Purchased the newest version releasing in June I believe. Over the last year I spent too much time playing ES5 and enjoying every minute, hour, day of the game. I have known about Elder Scrolls for years but never played until the winter of 2022. Now I'm late on the ESO realm but so looking forward to playing with other people. Thank you for your video.
My onlyyy probelm with the game is you never die, i played through the entire game with some dlcs and i never died once other than a time i fell off a cliff
I played during the pandemic (2020-2021 on Xbox). It was fun for that short period of time, but the constant changes and updates ruined it for me. The devs could never get it right and the game continued to have performance issues (after all the promises to fix them). It seems they have simplified the game to lure newer players, but I have to wonder if they will eventually run into the same issues of empty promises....
Yeah I have to agree with other comments. Game is great and fun but.....classes, combat, difficulty and monetisation are it's weakness. If they fix it and crafting bags because free I'll return xd
I have always enjoyed this title, and the only reason I have not made it my main MMO is because there is so much to do, so much freedom that I get lost and confused too often. Not a bad thing, but it will often make me log out if I get too lost, and maybe not come back for a week or so. But I do always enjoy it, and I keep it subbed and buy the xpacs. I cannot understand when I meet people who say it sucks or have hate for it, but then everyone has their own opinion, and no opinion is wrong.
I had such high hopes for ESO, as the art style a world scale is perfection to me. However, I got burned out very fast because the combat became so repetitive -- you just find the perfect combination to cause the most DPS and repeat those buttons over, and over, and over, and over. And the "amusement park" style of quests makes you feel like you have no effect on the world -- it just goes back to the way it was. And the difficulty scaling ... makes it kind of pointless to grind and feel like you've earned the level and equipment to be in the area or dungeon you're in. If we could combine Elder Scrolls Online world with the combat and leveling style of Elden Ring.....then we'd have something.
As someone who doesn't have a PC ESO is definitely my favorite MMO on console. I've tried BDO and FF14 and none of them are as enjoyable to me as ESO. BDO barely has any group content and it's mainly just a PVP MMO and FF14 never appealed to me. For me ESO is definitely the best MMO on console.
got the game on sale for like 90% off. great game for when need to sleep. fell asleep once at the desk with the game up because it was so boring. 10/10
Hell ya, it's worth playing, and this year, things are shaping up nicely with Golden Road. It's so awesome seeing every major city in every zone full of players. I just bought 12 months of premium and 42,000 crowns. Booyha!!! Let's go adventuring.
same, But this time i just want to get it for the Player interaction and story, I cant do the meta build/gear chasing anymore it just isn't fun. i hope people actually talk on pc instead of just type like ps4
Great video but I must disagree about the pay to play or win. This game is definitely that any game where you can purchase anything is pay to play or win. The only true PVP game I've found is DayZ. But great video
ESO is one of that MMO that you play every 3-4 months before quitting for another year and just to return again and play another 2-3 months and quit again. It's good and all, but it does get really boring especially if you are solo players, well but if you enjoy just chilling i guess its fine
I cine from wow I play wow since wrath and f the lunch king I quit on shadow lands I started the n eso few months back, I find I love the combat system it’s a fresh fast paste I like it I love how you can make your own class the way you want it you can me a meme magician Templar or range or stamina melee or even hybrid and have a different play style it change your class completely I started with a 2h sword and now I use a fire staff and loving range dps the way the quest are made got me just spending tons of hours in the open world and the quest system.
I've played since beta off and on but finally uninstalled for good last year. It's just not a long term or veteran friendly game. After you've played a few years there's nothing to do but wait on cash shop updates. Yearly content releases add about 5 hours of gameplay for full price.
I've only played Skyrim and Skyrim SE, but I did hear about ESO. I don't know about others, but the primary reasons I thoroughly enjoyed Skyrim are but not limited to; crafting, exploring, experimenting, fighting, and learning about the lore. I'm fine solo, usually prefer it as I hate rushing usually.
Content? Great Map? Great Mission? Great Combat? ... Meh. Sure its better than smashing buttons, but it is still clunky by todays standards. Ive been playing New World and enjoying it so far.
Feelsbad for you fellas man i really wish there was an oceanic server or at least some where in SEA, singapore would have been great. I play from thailand and the ping is horrendous
I remeber when this game first came out, running around group to group healing in the big wars. And when they first added becoming a werewolf or vampire, just at the quest marker with tons of people trying to get bit lol 😂
Just getting back into ESO after a very long break (like 2 - 3 years). It's a shame to hear that Imperial City is still a little dead. When it was first release, it was hands down my favorite content as it was both PvE and PvP. It's a great mix of the two. Plus I've always mained a Nightblade, and that class excels there with the ability to sneak around.
Which is best class to solo everything game offer as F2P? Bear in mind I have only the base game atm which basically I never started despite I got it many years ago. I been playing FFXIV for years doing extreme and savage and ESO could be a break from this wiping parties in Savage, doing all myself or with a friend duo.
Always wanted to get into ESO but being from Australia and having to play on either US or EU sucks. It's not entirely unplayable and many Aussies do but personally it makes what is a fairly clunky game on it's own that much worse. Melee combat especially is super janky with 100-200 ping. Never understood why there was no OCE server when the other big MMOs OCE servers are frequently full, especially FF14.
Someone recommended Skyrim so I gave it a shot 😵💫😖😮💨 I had no clue how to play. 10 years later, it's my top 3 most played. But now ESO is on my top to play list.😄😃
The horizontal progression to even the playing field with newbies is the best and worst part of this game. For years I’d start a new toon, spend a whole weekend grinding out the class- only to arrive at level 30 or so and realize that in spite of my gear and leveling I was performing markedly less damage output than I was as an newbie. The training wheels were coming off and when I asked how to bolster my build, the response was basically “just grind to endgame until you can raid and then RNG will give you pieces of a set you need- forget your current play style it will be obsolete”. And I’d just lose interest. That first 30 level progression is great though. But I can’t get into the solo aspects of late game.
Never got into ESO. Bought all the dlc when on sale but havent had the chance to dabble much i to it. Always wanted too. Maybe should consider giving it a try as I love Elder Scrolls Games and MMOs
I come back all the time just for the world and chilling aspect and yea idk I like the world and fantasy books and this game brings this to life for me
They lost me with all the nerfs on every update ,they just force you to grind for something else when I just want to have fun the way I want to play(sorcerer).Do new thing ZESO 4 those interested in that, but leave good and old the same.
I played it last 2 years ago. Wamted to come back, logged into my main did forgot what all my sets do didnt know half of my keybinds tped in the pvp area forgot how to leave and just logged off again hahah
if they remove crown store im coming back otherwise im enjoying getting mounts in ffxiv :) also cosmetics got in couple weeks ago in eso decided to play again saw the lich polymorph on store i literally uninstalled without looking back lol
I stopped playing this 2 years ago but up untill then I had played it since release. I done everything in the game, all hard mode content trials and dungeons. Who else remembers when 30-40k dps was the best and you running mechanics 20 times over to finish a trial lol. Now people like i got 130k deeps like its nothing. Smashing trial hard modes in 10 minutes lol. I just became a casual pvp player, trying to make meta breaking builds while constantly getting chased around by 20 man zergs in cyrodil lol. reason why I stopped playing was because the performance of the game was shocking. Especially pvp. New content usually broke it, 20 more hot fixes came out after a new dlc. And your paying for that on a monthly sub I just grew tired of it. 2 years on and I can honestly say it was still the best mmo i played, I do miss it, been struggling to find another game i can really get into like i did with eso. And now theres tons more content that looks worth coming back too. can deffo say I'm very tempted and thinking about picking the game up again. Be like starting a new game again only I'll be 2000 cp with a bag full of shite I dont need because meta has shifted 1000x over since I last played 😂 what could possibly go wrong, I think I've talked myself back in again 😂
I feel that ESO is one of the games with the most potential. It started better than expected, but the monetization is killing it. The focus on loot crates (the best aesthetically) takes away a lot from that carrot at the end of the stick, which MMOs have to keep players engaged, as there's no point in doing various content if there's nothing special in the end. I understand the horizontal nature of solo player content, but leveling becomes boring when everything is equally easy. They should find a system where players can increase the difficulty if they want, or make things harder in a party, because it has an incredible world but becomes boring in the end. Another annoying thing is the crafting grind. I understand they need to make money (and they probably make thousands of dollars with the whales addicted to loot crates) and sell their monthly subscription, but for those who don't play all the time, paying a month for a crafting bag feels bad. It actually pushes me away from the game. They could do something like New World and introduce a battle pass instead; the crafting bag should be a part of the base game. The content with other players is great, but there are so many bugs in the group finder. And every story feels like it repeats over and over. But well, that's not as important; if they allowed players to adjust the difficulty, it would honestly be a great solo player game. But the worst part is the monetization system. Expensive loot crates and that ESO Plus crafting bag, UGH.
If it still had the Veteran level difficulty from the beginning with the current slew of systems, it would be fun to play. But yeah, the Dora the Explorer style quest dialogue is not enough to keep me subbed
my suggestion for a "difficulty level" is to wear mediocre/weaker gear. i play mostly purple gear that i personally find fun, instead of gold maxed out trial gear that's suggested in every build guide.
Tip for not paying eso + : do a bank character where you store lot of items and make your actual bank the crafting bag. It takes a bit more time but at least you don’t pay. You can also craft chest for your house for more storage
Why does everyone gripe about the loot boxes or the other items in the crown store. Some of us love them and if you dont care for the stuff the, just ignore it.
I wouldn't say Floaty, but animation cancelling ruins it for me, never seeing your spells properly and spamming the same button ( Light attack ) over and over and over and er and over gets old really quick. Which is a shame, because it has EVERYTHING else im looking for but the combat is so boring that makes 90% of quests and stuff feel meh. I think Animation cancelling is the peak of what ruins this game, I want too see my abilities in their fullest without never being invited too a group because "I Don't play optimally" and since things are balanced for animation cancelling, if I want too see my animations I get too just do less then needed.

"Should you play in ESO in 2024?"
proceeds to
*not elaborate, somehow glaze the game but not ACTUALLY say anthing positive for almost 20 minutes.*
worst "in 2024" review of 2024.
Ya you run into people in the middle of no where very often lol.
I've been binging this game for the past 2 or three weeks, and that happens nearly daily for me, gets me every time though lmaoo

name another MMO where something like that can happen.
This is why I'll always play this game. It's so alive. Everywhere you go
They really should do a big graphics update like WoW did a few years ago. The game is showing it's age. Updated models and animations would be awesome.
I find it graphically nice to be honest
I agree, the games player models and animations are pretty bad
It’s 4k 60 fps now with HDR vibrant mode , when was the last time you played the game or are you still stuck on old gen ?
install reshade and pick a preset off of nexus, looks incredible
You playing on a ps4 or something? Lol. Game looks pretty damn great on my PC with highest settings
I mostly play solo, but have to admit the dolmens are a lot of fun when others join in.
You have a preference between ESO on console vs pc?
@@jpiggott9523 max level in a few days?
I played a bit in middle school on my xbox and it was alright, but Ive finally revisted eso on my pc and followed your guide and am having a blast
Just started playing last week and it’s no Skyrim, but I still really enjoy the exploration and the sheer amount of content there is here. Think I paid like 25$ on sale for the collection up to necrom and a month of eso plus, so far It’s confusing at times but very rewarding
Just got it on sale and I'm watching all your videos, great content
It would be nice if you could buy class change tokens, instead of starting all over.
this is how i play
I LOVE THIS GAME! Lets go another 10 years!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I like eso and have played it on and off for years across pc and console. That being said, the class system and combat is the weakest part of this game. Every single class feels like a mage at the start and once you get a good rotation down, it just becomes boring to me.
All mmo combat is boring in my opinion.
Whats your favorite combat out of all mmos ?
@@jackiechanswag for me the best combat i had was in C9 even tough the pvp ballance was shit the combat was awesome

Grinding = addicted to amphetamines
Probably the only thing i dont like about ESO is the Weapon Swap.I would love to have all skills on 1 Interface,so it feels more fluid.
Would be nice

As long as the crafting bag is behind a pay wall I'll be staying well clear. The monetization in this game despite the 'optional' subscription is egregious
i agree, i wish it was a sub only game. we would have less monetization.
personally doesn't bother me its my main mmo and my only sub.
@@ValiantMikeyI think it’s a reasonable Sub, the crafting bag is the ONLY thing that frustrates me a bit.
had this game in 2018 but couldn't get into, reinstalled it and I'm playing through it having a blast right now. I recommend it if you are looking for the yearly mmo binge, this should be it. Movement feels little like Oblivion, so it has that classic experience i remember
Is it worth try for newbie?
@@YunjiRyzenabsolutely I had a 3 month period during covid where I played it every day for hours and hours, sadly having no friends to play with and working ridiculous hours got in the way of the grind though

I think I've tried playing ESO about 4 times, once on PS4 and the rest on PC, and bounced off after about a month or two (or less) each time. The combat style doesn't really appeal to me all that much, and I find the story uninteresting. It's probably the lack of a crafting bag that keeps me from even playing casually without a sub, because crafting is usually a large part of what I do in MMOs.
My big gripe, after 1500 hours, is the lack of in game rewards. Ffxiv and GW2 have excellent in game reward systems, I wish ESO would add more.
you mean like gear or what? cause I kinda feel the same
@@giovannifigueroa2658 absolutely - and mounts, cosmetics, everything!
@@giovannifigueroa2658i think they mean outfits, mounts, etc
Best MMO RPG potential!!! They need to refresh and add PVP content at the new year!
Game is better for PC.
It’s like a different game on pc. Looks way better.
Xbox > PC
I play ESO regardless because I honestly thoroughly enjoy anything with the Elder Scrolls.
They changed the combat. Everything is hybrid now & animation canceling is gone now. You should come play & tru again.
Come try out New World 😎
I am not sure why active playing such as light attack weaving and intricate targeting vs tab mode would make the experience boring. But to each their own.
As a new player I love the game and having a great time questing but the montolization does bother me quite a bit
If you can/wish heavy invest your time, you can PAY ONLY FIRST TIME, next you grind by doing dailies, I have 9 upgraded chars for dailies
and 50 mills gold from it - it means about 15k crows. Go to ESO store and look what you can buy for it. And from time to time there is sales - I buy last
chapter Necrom for 33 percents of inital price. But also you have to buy all capasity chests and think about good items management strategy,
because you get a lot of cheap trash - think what store in bank/chars/chests and what sell instantly.
Dailies for 9 chars - from 30 min to 1 hour. + surveys, which is fast, but when doing a 50-100 like me, it takes time :)
+ there is another way farm gold - farm very expensive items from veteran content like style pages, which price can be 1 milion or even 4 milions.
@@advdraugams9531 there are tons of dailies across various zones. What quests do you specifically recommend? Right now i can only think of alinor dailies where you have a chance to get lacquer (armor style) which costs 8-9k each
there is 2 times in a year where ingame money 21k crowns will be -40%. and you can buy with that almost all DLCs. So you would not need ESO Plus.

Ive had the game in my library for so long but never gave it a go until yesterday really and started with bleakvile isle i think it called? Beautiful snow island and enjoying my expierence so far ❤ did a random zone ice man quest and was loving every second haha
Game is so good. There’s an overwhelmingly amount of stuff to do.
i havent played in like 5-6yrs i always think about playing again - maybe i will come back and see what ESO has to offer.
if they were to release two new magic weapon types, they would go way up in stock. its the most glaring issue. at the very least they could implement a weapon resource morph so you could use true viable spellsword type builds
Ya there is no weapon range for magic classes you just get a staff, would love a spellsword or like wands.
And not just passive effects and damage he applies in 0.3 seconds with 10 skipped swings.
skill issue
And this will never change because of a couple of vocal hardcore nerds will cry that this is a fundamental part of te game. I hate it.
@@jeffreyjenks8000sounds like lazy development not a skill issue. Nice troll though
Eso combat is waaaay more fun than tab targeting and is why i am playing it tbh. Reminds me of doing combos in fighting games
Mechanically yea, there's a skill ceiling to it that makes a huge difference especially in pvp. But it just looks bad and feels very robotic... There's a reason WoW updated their animations where hit looks, sounds and feels very smooth.
Clunky gameplay
No matter where Zos goes With Teso it will always hold that special place in my heart.
Just got the game and I love it!
How do you experience lag in PvP?
@@axelarnaud7547what do you mean how? How do you NOT experience lag in PvP 🙄

Same
Feel like these always come out a week or 2 too early since we always know we're getting a sneak peak at whats to come every Jan, by week 3. If you ask a vet, the new content is what decides whether they stay or come back at all. For a new player, it's always worth it, there is a ton of content. The endgame, cookie cutter design, lack of pvp support, and reward structures are the biggest issues plaguing this game for years.
one thing i gotta give props to the dev team is the fact that if you get the deluxe edition you get every dlc so if you have no idea what DLC to get just spend that extra bit of money on the latest DLC and you'll have every other DLC that you can experience and then you can just wait ages for more DLC and buy the latest DLC deluxe edition to get all the ones you dont have
So if I pre ordered the Gold Road deluxe edition I’ll get all the other dlc?
Most of things in cash shop is cosmetic and not even P2W.
Maybe not p2w, but meanwhile making lots of ads that respec scrolls are on sale while you can just buy those ingame with gold 😂😂😂
@@Mick1rggfn Yeah true. You gotta have some input about the game and market. There is ton of ways to farm gold.

I absolutely love ESO. Been playing it for 10 years and as far as I'm concerned, it the best MMO there exists.
2024 being its 10th year should come with atleast Minor graphical and engine upgrades. Maybe some Changes to The main pvp area too.
Wouldnt complain if they added WoW style events like sundays fishing tournament or the one that places a chest inside an arena a few times a day for everyone to fight over.
first time im actaully satisfied of someone explaining a game and its features, thank you !
i use to love this game..
Now I'm late on the ESO realm but so looking forward to playing with other people.

i started yesterday, and god damn im having a blast. Finally an MMO that doesnt just feel like a watered down singleplayer RPG game
Cry about it more online
One of the only MMORPG that he inserts some special things about ESO... and then I think about Guild Wars 2 lol
I just bought it on sale for PS5. I just want a good story. Hope it isn’t too crazy to get
Into
How is it ?
I have never played Elder Scroll before, so the best way to play the game is with a monthly subbase then right?
As someone who doesn't have a PC ESO is definitely my favorite MMO on console. I've tried BDO and FF14 and none of them are as enjoyable to me as ESO. BDO barely has any group content and it's mainly just a PVP MMO and FF14 never appealed to me. For me ESO is definitely the best MMO on console.

ESO is one of that MMO that you play every 3-4 months before quitting for another year and just to return again and play another 2-3 months and quit again.
It's good and all, but it does get really boring especially if you are solo players, well but if you enjoy just chilling i guess its fine
Great video, Lucky!
thanks for the comment!
Great help, thank you! I’m legendary I guess, cause I watched the whole video, lol!
I hate that I never feel like i am playing the "whole game" because everything is stuck behind an individual pay wall.
What bothers me is that you buy all dlc, but when you get into the game you have to get a subscription to enjoy the rest of the dlc
@@william6587there's a asub after buying all the dlc?
This still relevant
I've only played Skyrim and Skyrim SE, but I did hear about ESO. I don't know about others, but the primary reasons I thoroughly enjoyed Skyrim are but not limited to; crafting, exploring, experimenting, fighting, and learning about the lore. I'm fine solo, usually prefer it as I hate rushing usually.
Content? Great Map? Great Mission? Great Combat? ... Meh. Sure its better than smashing buttons, but it is still clunky by todays standards. Ive been playing New World and enjoying it so far.
I really wish ESO would add an Asia Pacific server in Singapore for the poor Aussie and NZ players latency issues, fingers crossed 🤞❤
Where have you been? It's not called Endless Archive anymore. It's the INFINITE ARCHIVE!!! Kappa. Miss your streams, come back BB.
You should. Its a game with a lot of depth to it's systems so it would keep you occupied.
Started this game last week. It’s fun. A lot to learn tho
I did the same thing lol and could not leave pvp area foreverrr
if they remove crown store im coming back otherwise im enjoying getting mounts in ffxiv :) also cosmetics got in couple weeks ago in eso decided to play again saw the lich polymorph on store i literally uninstalled without looking back lol
I played eso and loved it, but the limited crafting bag drove me nuts.
This
I stopped playing this 2 years ago but up untill then I had played it since release.
@@salinaember9527 Even with garbage white gear 99% of the overland content is impossible to die in
Tip for not paying eso + : do a bank character where you store lot of items and make your actual bank the crafting bag. It takes a bit more time but at least you don’t pay.
You can also craft chest for your house for more storage
Why does everyone gripe about the loot boxes or the other items in the crown store. Some of us love them and if you dont care for the stuff the, just ignore it.
Great and informative review, thanks, sir!
I'm more of a FFXIV player but i really appreciate ESO's amount of good voice acting and the quality of the side quests
"Let's have an honest talk about PvP" made me kinda laugh. True tho
