Absolutely, that’s what this track is about. We try not to take ourselves too serious and just get away from the real world and have a good time. Lots of good competitive racing with nothing but fist bumps afterwards!
Yeah man I love the vibe here! It just looks so ridiculous with everyone having no more than a week or a few days of experience lol, crashing all over the place. Can’t wait for mine.
@@GeddyRC yeah most of us didn’t have more than a battery pack or 2 through them yet. A little wild but should get better. Some ideas are being tossed around about making a couple turns wider and sweep more for the bikes. But I love this track, everyone out there is there to have a good time and have fun. We get competitive but it’s always just a fun welcoming atmosphere. RC racing is still in its infancy in our area over half of our regulars have just gotten in to RC all together over the last year and a half. It’s been awesome watching it grow and seeing people step up their skills.
@@MrGeorge426f you can see there is a ton of potential in these things. some of those jumps were super clean and i think the turns looked fine its like you said though needs a few more hours of practice to get t down.
Total carnage! I have a red one and these bikes are super fun. It is a new skill set and maybe part of the appeal is that we are all learning. This is what RC needed IMO.
They are super fun. We were crashing all over the place in this race because we are all newbs. When people talk bad on them because these “expert” RC racers can’t drive them I just laugh. You can take that “expert” title and toss it out the window with these. It’s completely different.
There had to have been a prize for the longest continued front roll into a marshal, with extra points awarded for height above knee level. This looked like one hell of a day of pishing yourselves laughing and endless fun. The best part is that when these are finally released in Australia there will be a number of strengthening mods and hop-ups for us to dive straight into. Or someone could just buy a truck load of them and ship them out here, we're gagging to get our hands on them, so much so that all the pre-orders are sold out. Well they are in my area anyway, I tried to get a couple more but they'd have to be part of the second shipment in a few months. Pointing out the obvious, Losi have a monster hit on their hands and they'll be filling back orders until next year. Enjoy your toys lads, you lucky buggers. 🙃👍
Yeah 4 of the 6 of us this was the first or 2nd batteries we had through them. It’s 1000% different than a 4 wheeled RC. I was running fairly smooth laps in practice, but then you throw in the excitement and competition of trying to race and the patience went out the window 😂. The potential is there for sure though.
Love this 😂😂😂 I see they have a long way to go before they can have a race with these things alot of learning and maybe a special track for this bike 🏍
@gedrickwilson looks like the red and blue are already shipping. Green ones mid month. Looks like Horizon had something like ten times the pre orders they expected.
Thanks for the upload. My observation, while this looked fun, I believe these bikes belong on a 1/8th scale track. The jumps and curves need to be more flowing. For example, on the back part of the track with the longer turn and doubles, there were far fewer issues. The part of the track closer to the drivers had a lot of issues. The drivers either had to learn to slow down and not drive them like a 1/10th buggy or they needed to be more of a sweeper and less 90 degree type of turn. The triples need to be driven differently either they drivers needed to have a really fast run and hope they cleared the middle jump and could land the third one or the jump need to be redesigned to give them a better chance to make the jump. Most of the bikes that failed the triple crashed right into the 3rd hill of the triple. Like most thing there is a learning curve so if they class keeps getting popular this work itself out. Was fun to watch and glad so many people participated. I hope we see more videos in the future.
These will definitely do better on a 1/8th scale track. Berms in the corners would also help on a small track like this, but then it would need to be a dedicated bike track.
OMG that was the greatest! I was laughing so hard for like 5 minutes straight!! not harping on the RC bikes. those are really cool. I'm thinking about getting one myself. just the non stop Kaos and crashing had me rolling. my dog was concerned about me. I seriously had tears coming down my face!
@@CrashCourseRC86 oh yeah, I'm sure they will. seems like double jumping the triple was the best way to go. :) those new RC bikes seem really cool. I bought the Jeremy McGrath bike when it came out and it pretty much sucked. :)
@bigstuu9945 Totally agree it was awesome to see six bikes racing a lot of crashes but i think the drivers were a bit to keen to get round the circuit.. 👍😃
I love it! Though judging by just this I can tell you guys had the same problems as I did trying to run on a course designed for 4 wheels. A couple things that all tracks need for bikes is a big start/finish table, whoops in the high speed sections to reduce overshooting corners, adding a section to triples to create rhythm sections, berms on fast tight corners, and making sure there is enough run up and braking before and after big jumps. Oh and not to mention a starting lane. I can’t wait to see these racing on tracks made to bring out the best in the way they handle.
Purpose built tracks should be great. I can’t fault anyone from coming to the conclusion that these things suck from watching us try and learn to drive them on camera in a race setting. Until they have driven one and can actually feel it and know the potential that’s there it really can’t be put into words. It’s not a 4 wheeled RC and the that will have to be the first thing someone needs to accept.
Thanks for the video, Super nice looking track, man the turn marshal's had their work cut out.. I wondered how it would be on a track. Little different for sure but cool, I am enjoying the Promoto I got for my wife.
😁I really enjoyed this video, I know everyone there couldn't sleep last from the excitement to be there that morning, Hell I was excited & happy🥲for them, I gotta get one this weekend😏
Yeah fun to mess with but we all pretty much went back to our 1/8 buggies and SCTs. Still race for fun every now and then but mine mostly sits on the shelf
Can't claim to know whether, or not, this is the first Promoto-MX race in the country...but, it could be. It's not "who won", or "who lost" that matters. The only thing that matters is having fun...and, I'm 99.9% certain everyone did. 🤙🏼
Definitely fun. We didn’t know for sure of course. And this was just kind of thrown together, we didn’t even have transponders for this one. It was fun and the driving should only get better. 4 of the 6 driver were on their first battery pack on these things. Nobody had one before Thursday.
Yeah hopefully weather permitting we will have race # 2 tomorrow! We were closed last week to take a break, we had just finished up a long points series lasting over several weeks. Stay tuned video might be up late tomorrow night!
Looks fun. I'm sure once you guys get some practice you'll be able to time those jumps more effectively. Cool vid. I subscribed to see how this evolves. Looking forward to it. 😎👍👍
Yeah we have improved and slowed down a lot lol. It’s winter time now so not any racing at our local track. Maybe this years layout will be more accommodating for the MX bikes! Thanks so much for watching and subscribing!
Dirt oval would be the way to go with these. There is no way a 10th scale buggy track is gonna work for racing. I could totally see a Grand National style race with these. Or, if ya want jumps- put some jumps in the middle of a large oval and that may be fun too. This is the first video I've seen with any racing, so it will be interesting to see what different clubs are able to do with these and if they can keep the craze going. To be honest, if we want to keep new people interested in rc- it is important that the racing be easier to get into. A dirt oval would be perfect to get everyone acclimated to this totally new class- because right now nobody knows who to drive these things.
Once you learn to control these bikes you will be surprised, you gotta learn to break and turn into the corners and these things will turn on a dime especially if you adjust the front break, although it would be much easier on a oval and bigger tracks, these smaller tracks are definitely doable though, if you notice toward the end they were starting to get the hang of.
@@TheCabledawg1They don't brake badly, they brake as well as a two wheeled vehicle can. But yeah, a 1/10th scale track is too small, they should do fine on a 1/8th scale track.
It will need to be a big track and lots of sweeping turns. Oval makes sense but throw in some jumps where you have to decide of "making the triple" is worth it or not.
We just raced ours on a big 1/5 scale offroad track that we usually race our Losi 5T and DBXLs on. It was perfect for the promotion MX as the lanes are double the width of a 1/8 off-road track. The jumps are farther from the entry and exit of the turns, and 80% of the turns are banked. Hopefully, it catches on more and we get bigger tracks like our 1/5 scale track It is the perfect width and jumps compare to our 1/8 scale offroad track which was hard to control the bike on. The 1/5 scale track was easy. Banked turns make a world of difference for these bikes.
It would be a great idea (i think) to get some super-moto going. Much smoother surface …say on an asphalt road course and add jumps & rollers. Looking forward to see the evolution of this new bike…and hopefully other companies will join with theirs.
Just think, this is only with a few days and at most a week of practice (since preorders just started going out) - once they’ve been out for a while and people have practiced it’s going to look awesome out there. Looks like everyone had a blast - as it should be!
Yeah that was the first day me and my brother had ours. I played for about 5 mins in the grass and then about 5 more minutes on the track and then it was time to start racing. They asked us if we wanted to run them in-between qualifiers and the races for fun and everyone was down for it. All the other guys that ran didn't even have track time on them before we ran this, just playing in parking lots. It was a blast even though we was horrible. 😂
@@traviscollins82 Awesome, sounds like a blast! One thing I noticed in this video is that you smartly had a lot of marshals, because these things can't easily turn around if you hop the track by accident. You definitely need about double the number of marshals to be able to set them straight. Like with a car you just blip the throttle and spin it around, but with the much wider turn radius on these (not to mention simple tip-overs) you constantly need someone there to make sure they keep moving. Overall you all did a great job running this! Looking forward to more race footage :)
This looks like a ton of fun, it's going to be really fun and interesting seeing how people tune these rigs to run. Losi has been sucking for awhile now with over priced boring new releases....this is some good redemption for a brand dominated by Horizon's corporate interests.
That triple is really putting it to them. Definitely have to time it right cause that front flipping isnt gonna hapoen too many times without major damage or at the least increased stress on the components

But really we suck lol. Once you drive one you will understand the potential there just waiting on us to catch up. A purpose built track will be ideal though and the most fun.
@MrGeorge426f exactly the potential of these things is crazy. They really set a new president with these. I imagine other companies will follow and come out with some. Can't wait
@@MrGeorge426f I have the old Ricky Carmichael bike, once I learned to drive it that thing is was a blast, I'm thinking about buying the electronics from the Losi and upgrade it to brushless except the gyro because it is in the rear wheel. I may have to run a separate power supply to the gyro ?
I've seen these get bashed, but never race on a track! Looks like out-of-control fun! I wonder if these motos, since they are so large, will launch their own class. They probably would benefit from a larger/wider track, too.
Yeah I agree but man it was fun to watch. I bet when people get used to driving them they can push the limits more. Some of the guys literally unboxed them at the track. Not to bad for a trial run lol.
Yeah lol this video was from release date week some of the guys literally opened the boxes at the track 😂. Looking forward to this year and what unfolds at the track! Thanks for watching and commenting!
That turned out even worse than I expected ... we need to make tracks that are better suited to motorcycles.... I have two of these and they are a lot fun, but you need a lot of practice to run them on a tight course.
This is awesome. Reminds me of a different time. These are only going to get better. Enjoy this time with them. They will get perfected and more competitive soon. Seems like they need better breaking and suspension. Reminds me of the old Grasshopper slap when they land. 😂
Thank you for sharing as we've all wanted to see how these will run in a pack. Unfortunately, I think this is going to be a brief moment so enjoy it while it lasts. I know people are hoping this will be a "reignite" like the Traxxas slash unfortunately this will be more of an exhibition class.

Thanks for sharing. It looks like they might need a bigger track. The turns are a bit too tight.
For 4/6 racers it’s their first pack so… they’re very very new, they can definitely make these turns
It nice to see the rc bikes but we don't can see from close what is from ather side of camera!!
Its like watching pre schoolers trying rc for the first time.....funny as hell !

What a blast!
This is awesome!! Listen to them laugh!!
Yeah the crowd marshals and drivers were cracking up lol
que bonito esto es casi mas divertido que las motos reales me a gustado mucho el video
Thanks!
Thanks for Sharing this... It's Funny Fun to Watch and Laugh with Everyone 💯 ✌🤠👍 HFLPRCing =Having Fun Laughing Playing and RCing 🏁💯🏁
well said, thanks for watching and commenting.
Very cool. I'm digging the motor bikes
I agree with a lot of the comments. This is old school MotoX racing. Great stuff!!!
Funniest motorcycle race ever 😂😂😂
Thanks for watching!
C class race att the local
Finding the ideal line & gas control... Super funny guys!😅👍
Yeah lol this video was from release date week some of the guys literally opened the boxes at the track 😂. Looking forward to this year and what unfolds at the track! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Wet is ther an rc park in ky
I've never seen busier turn marshals
Great workout 😂
LOL that looks like a ton of fun
It was fun for sure stay tuned for more RC vids! Thanks for watching!
That turned out even worse than I expected ... we need to make tracks that are better suited to motorcycles.... I have two of these and they are a lot fun, but you need a lot of practice to run them on a tight course.
Make the track 10 feet wider in all areas, and they will be fine.
Dope! But looks like a PIA to corner marshal.
This was the first race. 2nd race looked a little better as they have had a little more practice ua-cam.com/users/shortsoGqMSs7Mroc
Now that is fun!
Awesome, was there much damage ?
Everyone drove away, think someone cracked a front plate and someone lost a foot peg. But overall I say pretty durable!
@@CrashCourseRC86 cool, thanks
MARSHALS MARSHALS....WE NEED MORE MARSHALS!!!
lol
This is awesome. Reminds me of a different time. These are only going to get better. Enjoy this time with them. They will get perfected and more competitive soon. Seems like they need better breaking and suspension. Reminds me of the old Grasshopper slap when they land. 😂
Thanks for watching!! It was a blast to watch
Super cool!
Thanks!
Just what I thought would happen. Need a 1/5 track. After ripping up and down the street a few times will get bored!😕
Just give it time. Once people get the feel down its on.
For sure!
Thank you for sharing as we've all wanted to see how these will run in a pack. Unfortunately, I think this is going to be a brief moment so enjoy it while it lasts. I know people are hoping this will be a "reignite" like the Traxxas slash unfortunately this will be more of an exhibition class.
Recorded horizontally:)
for sure lol, I get it
This is really cool but it looks like the track needs to change for the bikes the corners needs to be a lot wider !!!
I'm thinking real dirt bike racers should be glued to their bikes and controlled remotely. Now that would be entertaining!
Absolute chaos
That was a mess, but a fun mess. Should definitely have banks in the turns.
👍🏼👍🏼 With a track designed a little bit better for those bikes oh man it would be a blast but That was awesome
Nice track! What a great time
Cool!
