What's there to be impressed about? You state in your video that the bike was likely meant to be driven on an 1/8th scale track, but all I see you and the others doing is bashing it in a big area with some jumps with an 1/8th scale track in the background. Put it on the track, with other bikes, put up or shut up. This video shows and proves nothing, except that it will break, which again leaves me questioning, did Losi cut corners again and use crappy material. How long until the servo dies and the ESC burns up? This video also shows that this thing more than likely has a crappy turning radius and will need a lot of room to run. I'm also pretty positive that Losi knew this would be primarily bashed and I'm sure they built it with that in mind, so saying that taking it to a BMX track was going above and beyond, GTFOH.
There is another thing Losi failed miserably at with this release. No pink or purple bike and no option for a female rider. Is Losi saying only dudes like RC and only dudes ride dirtbikes? Missed opportunity. I'm sure that woman on the Saylor channel would have been over the moon if she received a bike with a female rider.
Thanks for bringing the bike to Madness! I was one of the guys who got to drive it and wow, it's even better than what I imagined. I can't wait to get one and start modifying / racing it!!
Great meeting everyone that day. It was pretty awesome to see how everyone reacted to it! Thanks for taking the wheel and talking about your experience.
What a total blast. This will be the years best rc ever. Seams quite durable with the crowd that drove it even with the bent spokes and broken part. Jumping like that with no landing ramp of any kind is going to ruin something. This will the best 600 bucks I spend this year. Great review. 👍
The HH crew should be on point with parts. But after speaking with a few aftermarket companies, I think we’re going to see a ton of aftermarket support as well.
Without knowing the price points, after watching the Losi "in depth" release with Brian and Frank, I was assuming this would be in the $700-$900 range. The amount of ground-up engineering and design work that went into this product is astounding. And to make it look as realistic as it does is next level. IMO it is an absolute steal for how it's priced.
1000% People complaining about the price don't understand it has a one-off six channel motorcycle gyro with safe and it's own version of the DX3, and what those electronics would cost solo.
Greg, you just confirmed anyone's purchase that was on the fence with one of these. Seeing it going from one hand to the next and the fact it was still running well even after the break speaks volumes.
I commented in the last video , and said this will be the hottest selling RC this year. You commented back that the shop owner said he would have to order more . Now, I know what you meant. As for doing that plate in aluminum, in the same crash, other parts will break or bend. There is a limit to any RC cars durability, and you guys were launching it pretty hard. As for the price, I'm fine with it. Lots of R and D went into it. I'll be ordering one, after the first run, I never buy first run products.
All I can say is that's Awesome.. nuff said! It would be so cool to start a racing class of off road dirt bikes. Maybe associated and kyosho and traxxas will get on board with this in the future. Kudos to Losi for inovation. Lets have a whole new rc class of racing. Instead or ROAR we have ROMR or ROCR or ROBR you get the picture..
After seeing this video and hearing the guys reaction to it I am glad I put one on order. The breakage does look to be what could an issue but I do think there will be a lot of aftermarket support for this and we'll see a good fix for it within the first 6 months to a year. I am still not happy with the price point but after seeing the performance I feel a little better about it. Once all of the upgrades and mods are fully released I think this is going to be an RC game changer.
Think of it like this too. Are you going to launch your bike like in the video? Most probably won’t and the broken part shown might not even be an issue. Enjoy it when you get it!
@@rcdriver I might do some bigger jumps but most likely will wait for some strengthening parts before I do. Good to see that weak spot though, will do best to keep it from landing rider head down for sure. Thank you for the great in depth videos on this, I was totally hesitant at first because of the price but now I am foaming at the mouth to get my hands on it!
Dang one of the coolest releases I’ve seen in a while! Looks like a blast, will def pick one up when they are more readily available. Heard they are selling like hot cakes and tough to get
I have to say this is by far the best, most through review on the internet right now, and also the most real world. Let multiple people try it, get real world reactions !!
I am going to wait a year or so for the bugs to be fixed. The only rtr basher vehicle that Losi released that is still in production is the LMT. For some reason rc enthusiast normally outgrew their kits, stopped buying their line up, and Losi ended up discontinuing them. I hope this bike takes off just like the LMT. Traxxas, Kyosho, and Tamiya many of their original vehicles are still a hit and I don't see that stopping anytime soon.
The guys at RC MADDNESS are number one guys to deal with the best hobby shop around and I got to and been to all if them from Boston to CT to 518 Hobbies in upstate NY and RC MADDNESS is the best of the best everytime and they are very knowledgeable and helpful
Once this bike gets into more people’s hands I imagine a whole plethora of aftermarket aluminum parts getting made. I’m willing to bet someone will make something less bulky for those side lean bars that still works just as well. Great looking and functioning RC!!!
I’m very very impressed with losi . And I’m absolutely sold on it, I’m sure losi will improve the bike and it’s price. The fact that it took so much abuse really impressed me. I mean the Xmax was built to do crazy air time. This wasn’t but still endured it. Very very impressed I’m definitely getting one.
Totally Awesome. Great air and durability. Nice one .. The plate seems to be the weak link I've seen the same in other videos but as you said it wont be long until an after market one is developed or perhaps Losi will have a V2 version. This bike has to be the most popular rc out there right now. It's worth every penny. 👍👍
Great coverage Greg. This another one of those rc that you gotta have two!. Is always more fun interacting with someone else. One gets old after a while. But how cool would this look next to a Baja specially if is a two stroke, I bet the sound of the Baja would give it a more realistic action. 👍
Its expensive but you have to consider this has two brushless systems in it and all the new tech and 1/4 scale size. Its probably worth it and I want it!
I think the part that broke saved the fork or chassis and in a way, is the sacrificial part. There’s always a need for sacrificial parts when high impact crashes are expected. In that respect, I wouldn’t upgrade that part to an aluminum because if you think about how much force there was on the impact from the crash, you would expect something to break or bend. If that piece broke during “normal” landing, then I would call into question the durability, but in the circumstance it broke, it looks to me that it actually did its job, which meant you could continue to drive it. As far as the spokes, it is also not surprising that they were bent. I actually expected them to break seeing the jumps you were on. I do wonder how much the bent spokes would affect the trueness of the wheel and how it would impact the handling when the wheel wobbles?
Yup, there’s all sorts of ways to look at it. What I think everyone can take away from the video is how well built this product is and the value you get. The wheels still actually runs true to the point there isn’t a wobble issue while driving. I have no plans to change the wheel until I get some of the option tires to try.
great job! I love handing new releases to people and letting them play with it. on the ifs I actually was like 5th to actually drive it! I cant wait to get one of these in our hands and hand them off to the guys at our local 1/8 track!
Good, honest Greg. That crash of a lifetime will not deter my choice in purchasing the Promoto. When I do that on my 300 Enduro, I usually have to get a Medi-Vac helicopter ride 😊
😂😂 You can't be serious! Gtfoh with that! " You never thought u would see something so well done"..... Well then u have the bar set pretty pathetically low
Thank you for your honesty. I was a little soared with your reviews around the time the lasernut came out, with the wheels coming off, but that's okay, I never bought one 😅. Anyway, this bike looks like fun! I never got a dirt bike when I was a kid😢. I'll have to check it out. Thank you for your time😁🤠
I was wincing every time it flat landed off that big jump. Imagine flat landing a real dirt bike like that time and time again. I think it held up pretty good all things considered. The more I see on this thing the more I like it!
flat landing isn't that big of a deal on actual bikes (i've been racing for 18 years), its actually perfectly fine, that's what suspension services are for ;)
"Imagine flat landing a real dirt bike like that time and time again." I wince every time someone jumps their 1/10 crawler across some rock crevasse in a way that would undoubtedly incapacitate a full-sized off-road vehicle. Or roll it several times down an embankment. Most RC drivers have no idea and zero patience driving their RCs to SCALE!
@@jamster90 from what height? This is the equivalent of flat landing off an fmx ramp. If we take scale into account , it's about a 40ft drop on a real bike. Would you be willing to flat land from 40ft up?
I love this…. Is there a way to just disable the ‘anti wheelie’ mode but without it doing that ‘auto wheelie hold’? It’s really cool but I can imagine it getting boring when you are essentially just holding the throttle and it’s doing the work… wouldn’t it be so much more rewarding if you could ‘balance’ the throttle yourself to keep the nose up? I realise how difficult that is when you aren’t on it shifting your weight but the wheelies just look a bit too locked in and too ‘automatic’.
That is so awesome I was at RC Madness yesterday definitely want to get mine on pre-order and RC madness is the greatest place on the planet earth. 👍👍👍👍Seth
Super sick to see everyone taking turns and getting a feel for it!! What a cool experience I can’t wait to drive one!! I hope my local hobby shop lets me make a video on one 😁
I really would love to see other companies like Associated, Kyosho, etc, come out a Moto of their own. Would love see a class of these bikes on the track. The only big, well smaller issue I see is that they have a wide turning radius. Would be nice to be able to cut it tight on sharp corners. Or somehow eventually be able to brake in to the corners and sling the rear wheel around.
Bikes corner as tightly as cars if you know what you are doing, I raced my Atomik bike on a 1/8th track that was even undersized and got it around easy enough, practice makes perfect
What a great video Greg, that looked like a blast. Took a beating to break it. I saw a vid that also showed the remote has an LED indicator for the battery, wish more RTR's did that. Feedback from everyone was great as well.
I ordered one this morning.😁 That broken part is not a concern at all.. that was a hard hit and like you said aluminum will solve that issue.. great video as always. 👍👊
Launching to flat is exciting and all, but I prefer the satisfaction and accuracy of a well placed landing ramp or transition. Overall very impressive new release from Losi!
I agree. Thats why I had a total blast with it at the BMX track in my first video. But these guys had fun their way and in the end showed how well this product was made.
Very awesome man you guys were really launching that thing off the jumps, can't say i wouldn't have broken anything on my 8th scale trucks doing those.. It looks like it held up good. Looks to be a fun bike.
It’s still too new for me to know. But when I asked for the replacement part I need I was told no problem we’ll get it right out. They usually have good parts support off the bat and I bet we’re going to see a ton of aftermarket support.
The flat landings were a little cringe for me. But that's what people will be doing. Not everyone has access to the perfect jumps. The ProMoto is a beast!
It's just funny how we think aftermarket right away. Aftermarket is a huuuge part of why these models are sold. Period. Such a great game changing release 👏 we needed this can't wait to see what mods cook up with yall genius issues.
This is cool!!! Now to find a distributor and price in Canada... Im willing to bet that it will be over $700 here though. Yup too steep up here price wise, $750 for the rtr and $899 for the combo with battery and charger.
Rc sailors did a speed test got up to 42 mph. Also that rear shock seems to be over loaded bucking the rear maybe less pre loaf or a different spring would help. Hopefully a 3rd party will offer aluminum wheels I'm surprised the plastic ones have lasted that long
I was already interested before this video. As with many others, seeing this "locks in" that interest. The only problem...and, for many, this is a real 'problem'...is the price. Is it worth it? Yes. Can people afford to spend that much...or, better yet, his many people are willing to spend that much? That's where the 'problem' comes into play. As much as I like this, as much as I'd like to have one, I just can't afford spending that much. 🤙🏼
In the first videos I seen of this thing the first thing I thought was the spokes being bent or broke. But I figured someone would make those in titanium. That is if u can take those spokes off and switch them out. But I believe with a few minor upgrades that is going to be bullet proof. That and maybe bump it up to 3's
Great video and super excited about the release of this bike I've had a kawasaki kx125 that looks identical so I was instantly in love lol but was curious b4 you upgrade u should definitely do a quick speed run its not going to win any awards but that's not necessarily what that is designed for thanks again for the video
I have a couple of SR5s which are great, and added my own electronic gyro to enhance the mechanical one (hold wheely angle and enhance low speed handling). I have experimented with wheeled stabilisers and researched electronic EMF braking for front wheel Sooo, Losi have commercialised my endeavours....Thats good, they have done it well.....But, sorry, not many folk have that purchase price spare in their backpocket! - The SR5 settled down in the £200s as sales have never been swift. I think this will need to be £395 to sell in the UK, however I understand that may not be feasible ...£450 tops.... Motor could be lower powered to help with cost and endurance and the ability to corner better at medium speed needs some work (its never going to turn tight at what is probably 150+mph fullsize speed!) For those who have deep pockets, a 2wd version would be a step up variant. Using a fw hub motor, that can also be used for braking. This will probably help with med speed tighter cornering, with a gyro shuffling torque split front to rear as appropriate Next upgrade could b an animatronic rider :) I love my SR5 and would love the Losi..at £395 UK (£150 more than the SR5)
sorry if this has already been asked.. but if you run it without the rider does it throw the CG off? I’m so pumped for this release!! Still can’t decide on a color tho..
Imagine what Traxxus will release with this technology. I’m sure all the other companies will Jump on the bandwagon now. What an exciting time for RC!!!

Such a cool R/C. The fact that it can land those big jumps and its not even bothered by it just keeps on going shows off the engineering put into it.
This is genuinely the most exciting RC release in years. *edit* now the price in uk is more reasonable, ill be getting one
Sorry to hear about the price. It really is beyond exciting. Everyone that got to experience the bike in this video loved it.
The price is wrong in the UK it's been put right around £540,
Look at SC models, they're showing the right price and you can pre order for £50

Not worth 500

They already have a kit to turn it into a street bike and or a drag bike
@nolimitrc9048 it's just a tire change to drive on street there is no drag kit. Why would you drag a motox 😆
That thing is sweet, wish I could afford one, maybe one day, great video on how tuff it is
Does it also come with a charger?
Great video Greg! This thing looks awesome! Just pre ordered a blue one. Keep up the solid reviews. 👍🏻👍🏻
If you replace it with aluminum...will other stuff then break? Sometimes parts are designed to fail to prevent major damage elsewhere.
Do you think there will be a nitro version or a conversion kit?
I don’t think we’ll see a nitro from the factory. But an aftermarket conversion may be a possibility.
I cant wait for mine to come ... thanks for the great updates
That really is awesome!
What battery did you use?
Not worried about that break. Anything you land upside down has a way higher chance to break stuff. Can't wait for my preorder.
Exactly. Enjoy the bike when you get it!
That is so awesome I was at RC Madness yesterday definitely want to get mine on pre-order and RC madness is the greatest place on the planet earth. 👍👍👍👍Seth
Waiting for my preorder nice review👍🏾
Nice! Enjoy it when it arrives!
Super sick to see everyone taking turns and getting a feel for it!! What a cool experience I can’t wait to drive one!! I hope my local hobby shop lets me make a video on one 😁
It was fun. It was cool to hear how everyone was impressed with it.
We're just at the beginning here. People are going to find a way to tune this to make them even better int he corners.
Thank you my friend! The ProMoto has just been a blast!
I ordered one this morning.😁 That broken part is not a concern at all.. that was a hard hit and like you said aluminum will solve that issue.. great video as always. 👍👊
Yup, no biggie. Thanks for watching!!
I’d love to see a class for this at the local races.

Great review and testing. Regardless of the broken plate I will get at least one of these for starters.
This needs serious upgrades soon!😁Great video test, Greg!😅/"ProMoto Power"!🏍😀
Ready to see a software upgrade that’ll allow you to do flips . And some type of truck in the air. So awesome
Launching to flat is exciting and all, but I prefer the satisfaction and accuracy of a well placed landing ramp or transition. Overall very impressive new release from Losi!
I agree. Thats why I had a total blast with it at the BMX track in my first video. But these guys had fun their way and in the end showed how well this product was made.
right? I want to see more footage at tracks and hitting some whoops and rhythms, it's still early though obviously
Very awesome man you guys were really launching that thing off the jumps, can't say i wouldn't have broken anything on my 8th scale trucks doing those.. It looks like it held up good. Looks to be a fun bike.
Absolutely love it!
You did not speak of spare parts availability. Can you get wheels and tires?
It’s still too new for me to know. But when I asked for the replacement part I need I was told no problem we’ll get it right out. They usually have good parts support off the bat and I bet we’re going to see a ton of aftermarket support.
Can it actually do back and front flip? You need to blip when jump..
I really enjoyed watching this video 🏍️🥇, it looks so real like in a movie 🎥 or in a sport game 🙏🏽. You guys need to put camera 📸 onboard now.
So cool to see Chris Marcy ripping it around!
This Losi is Amazing. 🍻 nice video as always.
Great to see a bunch of enthusiasts gather and get to try it. Really exciting . Hucking that to flat land is a real test.
The flat landings were a little cringe for me. But that's what people will be doing. Not everyone has access to the perfect jumps. The ProMoto is a beast!
"Everybody is going insane on the Losi ProMotor"
Count me as one of them :P
This thing must be super duper fun
Is this bike water prod also four mud and rain
Sends to flat are brutal! This is awesome! I need to pull out the mini b to run on the bmx pump track i just built
Imagine having US pricing here in Canada… and less sales tax. Eh?
@@rcgoodtimes6657 fellow can only dream...
Awesome video....didn't want one before......but after this....I do now....great video😎👍
Can you run this on 3s?
Rc sailors did a speed test got up to 42 mph. Also that rear shock seems to be over loaded bucking the rear maybe less pre loaf or a different spring would help. Hopefully a 3rd party will offer aluminum wheels I'm surprised the plastic ones have lasted that long
So can't wait to see all the new races because of these bikes.
All the comments make sounds like its a new losi 5b 2.0 lol bahahaa
Is it hard to use and is it reliable
I was already interested before this video. As with many others, seeing this "locks in" that interest. The only problem...and, for many, this is a real 'problem'...is the price. Is it worth it? Yes. Can people afford to spend that much...or, better yet, his many people are willing to spend that much? That's where the 'problem' comes into play. As much as I like this, as much as I'd like to have one, I just can't afford spending that much. 🤙🏼
Totally agree 👍
Looks good on dirt, hows it do on a gravel parking lot, grass etc?
My first video shows it in a gravel lot and a little grass. It does well. Stable in the loose rocks.
@@rcdriver good stuff, love seeing inovation like this in RC
Can't Wait to see races with these gana be so much fun
isn't the bike supposed to sit upright when you turn it on, so the ms6x calibrates properly? Or not?
In the first videos I seen of this thing the first thing I thought was the spokes being bent or broke. But I figured someone would make those in titanium. That is if u can take those spokes off and switch them out. But I believe with a few minor upgrades that is going to be bullet proof. That and maybe bump it up to 3's
Great video and super excited about the release of this bike I've had a kawasaki kx125 that looks identical so I was instantly in love lol but was curious b4 you upgrade u should definitely do a quick speed run its not going to win any awards but that's not necessarily what that is designed for thanks again for the video
Great Video!!! You guys make it look easy to drive. Is it at easy at it seams?
Those flat landings were a real durability test. Thought a lot more would have broken. This thing seems like it can take a beating
Yup! It’s truly impressive!
Chris and Tyler are good people.. cool of you to go up to Thier shop and let them mess with it..👍
They’re awesome. They were totally into the bike.
Wow 👍🏾👊🏾That's awesome . My next collection coming soon Thanks for a nice VID
Is it waterproof??
I have a couple of SR5s which are great, and added my own electronic gyro to enhance the mechanical one (hold wheely angle and enhance low speed handling). I have experimented with wheeled stabilisers and researched electronic EMF braking for front wheel
Sooo, Losi have commercialised my endeavours....Thats good, they have done it well.....But, sorry, not many folk have that purchase price spare in their backpocket! - The SR5 settled down in the £200s as sales have never been swift. I think this will need to be £395 to sell in the UK, however I understand that may not be feasible ...£450 tops....
Motor could be lower powered to help with cost and endurance and the ability to corner better at medium speed needs some work (its never going to turn tight at what is probably 150+mph fullsize speed!)
For those who have deep pockets, a 2wd version would be a step up variant. Using a fw hub motor, that can also be used for braking. This will probably help with med speed tighter cornering, with a gyro shuffling torque split front to rear as appropriate
Next upgrade could b an animatronic rider :)
I love my SR5 and would love the Losi..at £395 UK (£150 more than the SR5)
sorry if this has already been asked.. but if you run it without the rider does it throw the CG off?
I’m so pumped for this release!! Still can’t decide on a color tho..
Sorry I haven’t tried it riderless yet.
The rider also protects the bike so probably not the best idea, plus it looks ridiculous 😁
Imagine what Traxxus will release with this technology. I’m sure all the other companies will
Jump on the bandwagon now. What an exciting time for RC!!!
