- Providence is a Michelin-starred seafood restaurant that receives about 300 pounds of sustainable fish a day. Chef Michael Cimarusti only uses sustainable seafood for his seasonal tasting menu which starts at $240. We visited Providence to learn more about sustainable seafood and tried its tasting menu to see if it's worth the price.

What A $240 Tasting Menu Looks Like At Los Angeles' Best Seafood Restaurant
By the comments, the video should have shown the entire menu, not just two dishes. For some reason I seem to be the only one who understood the tasting menu isn't just two courses.
+Gabriel Martins Well, many people have never gone to a restaurant like this and eaten a tasting menu... so they assume based on what they see... I agree that they should have shown everything.
The $240 tasting menu is actually a Chef's menu comprised of over 11 dishes, but it's the quality of the ingredients they use from how sustainable they are to the incredible taste compared to just regular fish from a super market. Also, there's basically unlimited 3 different in-house baked breads (brioche, rolls, and nori focaccia) with world class butter and salt from France. While it may seem like you only eat two bites of fish with a leaf for 240 bucks, you'll probably come out of the place more full than you've ever been.
@@lorenzopoto5110 That's what we were saying
@@lorenzopoto5110 Great preaching to the converted, brah.
👍
@ Lorenzo Ponto lol you funny, I work for a seafood supplier and I deliver seafood on a daily basis to fine dining restaurants , some fine dining restaurants order regular fish like nz snappers or tasmanian farmed salmons and thry are cheap affordable fish and yes they do pump up the price to rip off the uneducated, so save the shit talking dude
I recently went to Providence and had this $240 tasting menu. The menu itself is 11 courses but with all the amuse bouches in the beginning plus unlimited bread with the best kelp butter ever plus special extra dessert treats at the end of the meal, it's closer to a 20-21 course meal. Extremely well worth the money for those that have doubts and you will also be pretty full for sure even for a guy.
2:41 that guy at the back is eyeing on smth different 🤔🤪
This video is too short for that clickbait title. Should have shown the full course.
I agree
Eaten their twice. Truly one of the best meals I’ve ever had.
its so nice working at food insider, u can explore places and try new cuisines/ flavors everytime, its maybe cheap but in large portions and yet delicious, or small portions bigger in taste ❤
I went to Thomas Kellers "Per Se" in NYC. Spent $1940 for 3 people. Was the absolutely best dinner I have ever had in my life, as well as one of the best experiences as well. It was absolutely AMAZING.
I like her a lot. She’s not stuck up or snobby. Just a genuine person being genuine. Keep up the great work! 👍🏼
That's a man, baby.

Rich kiddos meal 😂
I would be proud
I smoked 10 black cod earlier this year with Alder I cut and let sit for a year.
This year I plan on smoking about 50 Sockeye and 20 Coho. I made squaw candy from a few Coho as well.
Cut the salmon in thin strips and soak it in pineapple juice and brown sugar.
Smoke the strips in alder. It tastes so so good 😊
Those yellowtail and sheep head have awfully cloudy eyes for such a fresh seafood restaurant.
So happy sustainable seafood is being brought to the attention of America (: wish we could've seen more of that menu though
Sell the bottom feeders to the upper class and call it topped ranked lol I'll stick to my local dive restaurant
victoria lynn sandy you don’t really have a choice , look at you lol 😂

Never know some bits of food costs more than my rent.
Whoa, awesome! I'm eating that in a few days!
I've been there. I don't like to spend that much money on such small things to eat, but it tastes like heaven. Definitely worth it if you want to surprise your significant one.
02:41 that guy is enjoying the view
Waiter: Lunch is served!
*Hands over a log.
Guest: Looks um.... delicious?
"do i look like a wood pecker to you" storms out
Tittle should be “We couldn’t afford the $240 tasting menu so we had flowers and sashimi”
$240 is extremely overpriced for 4 bites of food lol
TheLegendOfTat its an 11 course menu. They should have shown everything. Video is misleading.
Nikolas Poto 11 courses but everything is small bites, not complaining though
They really just showed the canapés, which is the smallest of the small bites
Whoopers is expensive for me
For a tasting menu, $240 isn't sustainable for my wallet.
2:40 the best way period is to go and catch it yourself!!
Watching this while I’m begging my mum to get me the $2 wrap from McDonald’s.
240 $ for a few flowers and a few ounces of uncooked fish. Yes suckers are born every second.
Do your research..it’s an 11 course menu. Video is misleading though.
This is too expensive for me too but... the fact that the fish is "uncooked" makes it more expensive.
The fish has to be super fresh and prepared in a special way as it is raw.
Anyone could prepare cooked fish using any frozen fish from the supermarket.
Turn captions on and watch the video from the start. Trust me its good.
Rohan Mallik we died at the best seafood restaurant😂😂😂I’m dying😂😂😂
In under 1$ you can easily get some excellent and the freshest fish in South Asia.
Sea food is great, i love prawns, they are so heccin good
Those branches better be edible too or I aint paying..
I don't see the food, can someone show me where is the food they're talking about?
I am going to make some noodles... i can finish the whole dish with one bite and I won’t be satisfied oh and let’s not forget that i am probably going to sell my kidney for this one bite
iOpportunity ah na you got it wrong 😂😂 i am Asian
iOpportunity depends in which part 😂 here it’s hella expensive and i have a freaking huge appetite
iOpportunity hopefully all kind of seafood I’ve tried some so it’s alright it’s expensive for sure but sometimes i can afford it
iOpportunity oh and thanks
It's an ELEVEN course dish, So that small plate really adds up when you get 11 of them.. This video is very misleading
That thumbnail looks like Aliens movie
Well I think the michellien judges just like the word 'California ' because this guy uses it a lot
Providence is not a true Michelin-Star restaurant. Michelin pulled out of LA a long time ago and Providence wasn’t re-rated. You don’t keep your stars for life. If they were re-rated they would lose the stars. I have eaten there multiple times, and they are far from the best. Nobu in Newport is much more delicious.
Justin B I’ve eaten at Nobu twice , once in West Hollywood, the other in Malibu. It’s not a bad restaurant by any means, just not as amazing as I thought it would be.
Yet, it hurts me when I but a $11 jack in the box combo.
Half of those fish I catch on the weekend
What a giant plate
Michelin doesn't cover LA. 'Providence once was a Michelin-starred seafood restaurant' would be correct.
dang 240 for just a tree bark and a few flowers
I’ve been here it’s very good but kinda expensive 3 people for $700 around I think
what are erbs
Am i the only person who doesn't want to eat flowers? 😅😂
No. I'm with you
Me too I'll join your band
In Malaysia with 100 usd you can eat a lot of seafood... Probably serve 8-10 people.
Fish is just fish, it’s the presentation that makes it look expensive
Big Fish
The thumbnail scared me a bit
Imagine some random rich person who has never heard of providence before , walks in and is like " i don't like fish , though "
Don't worry we serve flowers too
US$240 only for 2 little portions of menu ?
Bart Simpson sadly they didn’t show the whole 11 course menu. Misleading
"Our goal is to take your money"
*We died at the best seafood restaurant*
did anyone else notice his slight stutter?
Even the dollar store is expensive for me
2.41 I saw you kiddo...
Im still waiting for the rest of the food but im at 6:36 help
Is that the Seth Rogen of food? Anyone else get that vibe?
Food shouldn’t need all this crazy presentation. Good food speaks for itself...
I'm just saying but the narrator sounded bored and out of it but also somehow sounded a little..excited?
The thumbnail and the first second of the video confused me
i remember the time when i could go to restaurants without masks
spend 240$ ...... still hungry af 😂
Chef Michael looks like Seth Rogan’s brother
Clicked to see what up with the fish with the teeth.... and of course Caroline!
False advertisement with the restaurant being a Michelin Star.
I hope nobody said "this looks good" ill stick to my tacos
Soooo....all that sea foods out of the pacific?!?! I'm good you can keep your radiated fish
Looks nice but I also like my $15 fried catfish with hush puppies.
Expectations:
Ooh is that an edible pseudo-branch platter serving local vegetation with fish bits?
Reality:
Nah it’s just a sort of branch serving local vegetation with fish bits.
Reality
Did she get to keep the wood?
That feeling when a fish has better teeth than you.. 😞😩
Eating sashimi with a fork is by far the most American thing ever lmao, like wtf freal
I to eat flowers with sushi
You would think they would have the top of the line looking fish with ice as a fishermen you can tell by the eye the color of the meat . I know the “ yellow tail” is know as a rainbow fish search it up and the biggest yellow tail I’ve very seen was 15 inches which is a monster and the “yellow tail” in your vid was close to 33 inches so and you can tell by the meat by how the meat at the tint of brown if it was out in ice for the good amount of time and by that meaning the whole fish of the meat was very fresh the meat would be white accept the blood line on that piece of fish you could see that little line which is more of a fishy taste as it is the blood of the fish and the top of the line restaurants in sushi or filets they take it out
Seth rogan dat you??
LOL
Its not expensive, just we can't afford it 😂😂😂
just flowers and 4 piece sashimi, people who ordered it is kind of dumb
He looks like John C Reilly’s brother
I just watched a commercial.
Totally worth it. LOL
This entire comment section has shown me why only rich people eat there
5k+ a month take home pay
Why no salmon
Is that it?
I will watch any video with Caroline in it
So Walter White didn't die...
Whatever man, it still turns into the same brown poop a day later
I'll just stick to my bacon and eggs
Val Kueh look at Mr Moneybags here with his "bacon and eggs"
Ill stick to nothing 😂
right and everyone will be dead sooner or later. eating this is the reason why you rather eat bacon over rye bread. c'mon liven up.
Those tiny portions, i feel like i need to stop off at the Don on the way home..
I like your make up
Why are you eating sashimi with a fork?!?!
Is it me or that guy looks like Seth rogan
240 all you got is few pice king fish 😪
That dude looks like Seth Rogen
Red lobster
You got robbed for 240$. Hope you liked your flowers 😂
It's an 11 course meal, this was a small portion of the whole meal
She's getting her money's worth by eating the garnish and flowers.
Çiğ balık yesem sanırım kusarım.o ne be.
Is it just me or doesn't he looks like Gordon Ramsey with beards?
Seth Rogen as a Chef
Show me that 0.24¢ tasting menu
240$ for a piece of wood for flowers and a couple ounces of uncooked fish that’s a modern scam at its peak lol😂😂😂
The restaurant looks like Nobu. :/
