  • Join me as I hunt for fossil shark teeth and fossil shells from 40 million years ago. This is a place I love to visit and have been to dozens of times, the variety of shells to be found is incredible and it's unusual not to come away with a shark tooth or two. A wonderful place to come hunting, there are some gems to be found. This hunt is from September 2021. Hope you enjoy it!

Oh my god Chris your actually a mindreader I was searching on UA-cam for fossil hunting at Barton and didn’t see anything interesting. But you saved my bacon this morning well done!. My progress on fossil hunting has massively improved. I found an unusual tooth like a cow shark at sheppy don’t know what it is? Do you know I searched on many websites.

I'm not sure about mind reading haha! but glad you found the video. Barton is a great location and very family friendly conditions. If they haven't changed it, the parking is usually free from end of September to March. Good luck. A brilliant resource online for identifying fossils from the eocene and oligocene is www.dmap.co.uk/fossils .

I am a volunteer leader for www.ukafh.com and I do a hunt at Barton every other year. I'm leading a hunt at Bracklesham and Lee on Solent in March and May. Similar aged fossils from both sites. I am open to doing private hunts also.
