Like any long-term investor, I’ve had some stocks that fell sharply after I bought them, and I still own a few. In this video, I’ll talk about my three worst-performing stocks - Lemonade (NYSE: LMND), Boston Omaha (NYSE: BOC), and Nextdoor (NYSE: KIND) - and which of the three I’m buying more of in September.

Thank you Matt for the breakdown. Like you, holding on to BOC for another year to monitor potential turn around

Thanks, Matt, for an interesting discussion on your losers. We all have had some but fortunately not many. My favorite insurance stocks are PRU and UNM which I bought back in 2020.

Thanks for the review- I gave up on BOC this spring. My bad boy is PAYC. Holding for now, but maybe AI will be the death knoll

I like lemonade, but I don't like Lemonade.
The monthly chart shows a lower low and a lower high.
The big up bar isn't convincing enough to buy for me, but it might be a sign of life.
I'm staying on the sidelines on this one and use my money elsewhere.

Thanks! I feel like it's important to hold myself accountable for losing investments, especially those that I've suggested to other people as great opportunities.

To clarify, MET is one of my largest investments and I have about 0.2% of my portfolio in LMND. Totally agree that insurance is doing VERY well in general right now.

I think insurance is coming for some huge shake ups, exacerbated by climate change, at least homeowners and maybe a few other seem segments. The Florida and California markets are already getting contentious, with regulation, a public option, etc. It might hit the reinsurance industry first, I'm not sure.

I also used to follow $KIND quite closely but the app experience was very negative for me. So stopped following and their losses never had me convinced that they were getting anywhere. Maybe the new CEO can turn things around but I wonder in times of social media, how much energy do folks have to get on a new platform. Just wondering, do you use the platform Matt? If so, what benefits do you see as I always found the posts quite negative and non-appetizing for my psyche😃

Thanks! I have a more thorough KIND video scheduled to post tomorrow (Saturday) morning.

Wow BOC sounds like complete Sh**. I owned LMND for a while too, lost about 70% and then decided to harvest the loss about 6 months ago. I was expecting metromile to be huge for them and it's seemed to be worth nothing. Auto has gone nowhere. LMND really needs scale.

100% agree the auto rollout has been disappointing. I don't get the slow pace of adding new states, since there is clearly demand.
