- Watch an exclusive interview with Liverpool band China Crisis at The Shankly Hotel before a live gig on the Eden Rooftop for Signature Live Sessions.
Hailing from Kirkby, China Crisis formed in 1979. Alongside the likes of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Echo and the Bunnymen and Frankie Goes to Hollywood, the duo became part of a new wave of Liverpool acts that achieved global success in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
The core members - Gary Daly and guitarist Eddie Lundon - achieved five UK Top 40 Singles and three Top 40 albums, with hits including ‘Wishful Thinking’, ‘Christian’ and ‘Black Man Ray’. Their song ‘Working with Fire and Steel’ became a surprise success in Australia in 1983.
A number of musicians have past through the ranks of the band, including drummer and percussionist Dave Reilly and bass guitarist Gary ‘Gazza’ Johnson, but today the active members remain the original duo.
Signature Living’s Signature Live Sessions are unique live music performances in Liverpool, giving you the chance to see Liverpool’s latest and greatest artists live on the Eden rooftop at The Shankly Hotel every month.
Curated and presented by The Farm’s Keith Mullin, we bring together the city’s most influential musicians alongside our brightest new stars for an evening of Signature live music and Liverpool bands.
Stay tuned for in-depth artist interviews in lavish hotel suites, extravagant rockstar behaviour and all kinds of hot tub shenanigans.
Every month you’ll have the chance for you and your crew to get in early, get a free drink and meet the band. #signaturelivesessions

Timeless and massively talented
What is it about Liverpool and great talent is it in the water 😃
That accent does it for me and the sense of humour 🤣🥰
Excellent boys. Stumbled upon them 10 years ago, by accident, since I was looking for Cook Da Books, and one channel uploaded those guys, and THESE guys too.
What a beautiful song from China Crisis.

King in a Catholic Style is also my fav from China Crisis. Wow. I remember watching CC in the Philippines.

The drummer is excellent. She plays like Stewart Copeland.
Love this hand and Livverpool.
Really awful duo
Gary's Scouse Campness second only to Holly Johnson 😀👍🎶
They were brilliant in the day first albuim passive rithems the best
Sounding good lads... (and shaan of course) Bit nippy to be playing out in the open in Liverpool though brrrrr
oops... just realised it was in november
When did the guy from Pentatonix start playing guitar for them?
When I go to see China Crisis, I want THEM to sing, not for them to ask ME to sing. LOL
Its called audience participation
@@wayniewayne It's. It is a valid point.
Hi
Does anyone know why the bloke with the hat keeps trying to sound like George Harrison ???
confused with liverpool (scouse) accent with scottish accent
scallies together
where has that accent from??????? why try to sound the beatles? funny
They are from Liverpool... the same city the Beatles are from coincidentally, which is why they sound like them. Other people CAN sound like other people when they belong to the same area... just saying.
I wish .. they would do one. This sounds really bad
I'm not angry. There just rubbish. Seen them once. Never again
Terrible sound
This is awful.
It's awful good, actually😊
Id rather watch sooty and sweep
