Diana suffered unbelievable abuse as a child. She was found wondering in the snow with a broken rib. I think she was the only surviving child, all the others died. She was adopted from an orphanage and didn't speak until after she was 5. Singing helped find her voice and she adores her adopted mother. For me, her voice is like the primordial cry, the vibrations almost like throat singing at times, vibrate down through your soul. Your description of being wrapped in velvet was great. Her voice is like no other and I hope for her all goodness.

It’s not processing. Her range reaches quite low but on top of that she’s able to lower her larynx to an unusual extent - you can hear it in the change of timbre from her more natural tone. You hear her doing it in other performances.

Like others say below .. yes .. this is her voice, not auto-tuned .. at .. least by machines. She normally can sing higher .. she is using vocal techniques to do this very low sound (people speak of a "frog voice" .. singing on a yawn and so on). She was 15 on this show (for children orphaned etc). Igor Krutoy was so impressed by her that he/his organization purchased her an apartment in Moscow so she could go to school. Rechenka mentioned she sings at 14 years .. is an old Russian folk song about the 'orphan bride' who goes to the river (Rechenka) which was the boundary between living and dead to talk to her dead mother. She is QUITE remarkable
I think the riffs are reflective of the cultural music from her country of origin. She definitely has Indigenous traits in her physical appearance similar to the Inuvialuit of Canadas Arctic. Story telling has various dynamics to it also.

Коренное население здесь называют остяки. От слова ость - базис. Эти народы по внешнему виду и по генетике сходны с Северо-Американскими коренными жителями. Диана выросла в приемной семье. Ее родная мать была алкоголичка и вела неправильный образ жизни. Из 12 беременностей выжила лишь Диана. Кто отец Дианы не знает никто. Возможно он представитель северо-восточных народов России. Ее в 3 года забрали у матери, она росла в детском доме до 4,5 лет. Позже ее усыновила медицинская сестра детского санатория. Это со слов Дианы и ее нынешней Матери из интервью. Диана считает себя русской так как выросла в русской среде. Что касается особенности подачи материала в драматическом ключе, это объясняется нашей особенностью к драматизации любой музыки вообще. Считается, что это особенность национальной русской культуры. И если вы нашли нечто общее с канадскими индейцами, то возможно их духовная составляющая в творчестве так же культивируется. It is a tv show - the voice kind, for non privilaged children. No autotune, this is her real voice, just turned 17 and she is working on her high notes with great results. As a child she was abused and was adopted by an orphanage worker. Vocal lessons were suggested as she was non verbal child ( I think this is the term). Diana had a rough start in life. Her alcoholic mother did not want her and abused and neglected her. She was abandoned at 3 years old. A relative found her and took her to an orphanage. A worker at the orphanage adopted her, and because she could not speak, sent her to a vocal teacher where she was taught to sing, so she could learn to speak. Now look at her!!! She is 15 years old at this competition for orphaned children. She won the competition two years in a row. The competition is called 'You are Super'. She is from eastern Russia, but now lives in Moscow, thanks to Igor (bald judge).

I'd highly suggest another song of hers, from the same show but one year prior when Diana was 14 years old: 'Rechenka' It's a russian folk song about on orphan girl who was going to marry, but due to a lack of family (and friends) there was no one to see her off (an ancient east slavic tradition before a wedding, somewhere between mourning for the loss of a daughter and celebration for the beginning of a new life as a wife. Or smth like that). So, she goes to a river ('rechenka' in russian language) in the forest, where she pleads to her 'friends' (the river, trees, animals, spirits, ect) to take the role of family and friends. She herself completely becomes the character of the girl in that performance (she is a natural performer on stage), to the point that even the judges were so mezmerized they seemed to have forgotten that they had to press their buttons and totally jumped at it, when they thought the song was over.
There is no processing on her voice. She just lowers her larynx and the placement of the lower tones are far back in her throat. She speaks normally like any 15 year old, but with a lower tone than almost all of them. She is also excellent at yodeling. Contralto is exactly what I would say she is. I have no vocal training. I have just watched many vocal coaches react to this performance.

Diana suffered unbelievable abuse as a child. She was found wondering in the snow with a broken rib. I think she was the only surviving child, all the others died. She was adopted from an orphanage and didn't speak until after she was 5. Singing helped find her voice and she adores her adopted mother. For me, her voice is like the primordial cry, the vibrations almost like throat singing at times, vibrate down through your soul. Your description of being wrapped in velvet was great. Her voice is like no other and I hope for her all goodness.

Liz Rach goes without saying: thumbs as low as they go for abuse that leaves someone in that place. Unbelievable she is where she is giving what she is giving. Obviously an older performance, but more enjoyable with every subsequent performance. This quality of voice taps into something before my ancestors. To me it’s the opposite of otherworldly. I don't think that the girl went for a walk herself, her drunk mother simply abandoned her child or lost her. She almost killed her! It's a miracle that Diana survived. And yes, she really had big problems with speech until the pediatrician recommended visiting a vocal coach to correct her speech.

Very nice reaction Ken, great choice.. Sound is live and unaltered, this is a Russian talent show for kids/teens mainly with difficult background. Diana had a rough childhood but started singing quite early and took vocal lessons from the start, hence the technic that befits a far more seasoned performer. And genes ofc..

After the song was finished and the judges turned around , the audience interrupted what they were saying by giving Diana a 5 minute STANDING OVATION. After the applause, the judges had her perform a segment of a French song made famous by Edith Pief and after she sang it , the lady judge covered her face with both hands in utter shock , disbelief and SHAME. The judges said they didn’t press their buttons because they couldn’t teach her anything. She was beyond their level already. But this turned out to be a BLATANT LIE and one of the worse scandals in Russian talent contest history. Because the following day it was revealed that the contest was “ fixed” the winner was “bought” before the show started. A total travesty of justice and revealing how corrupt this Russian kids show was at the time.
And the following days over 80 million who watched the contest when posted on UA-cam spit on the judges.
But she got her revenge the following year and year thereafter by winning not only the Russian contests in two consecutive years but 60 more awards and contests.

It’s not processing. Her range reaches quite low but on top of that she’s able to lower her larynx to an unusual extent - you can hear it in the change of timbre from her more natural tone. You hear her doing it in other performances.

Like others say below .. yes .. this is her voice, not auto-tuned .. at .. least by machines. She normally can sing higher .. she is using vocal techniques to do this very low sound (people speak of a "frog voice" .. singing on a yawn and so on). She was 15 on this show (for children orphaned etc). Igor Krutoy was so impressed by her that he/his organization purchased her an apartment in Moscow so she could go to school. Below are some links .. Rechenka mentioned she sings at 14 years .. is an old Russian folk song about the 'orphan bride' who goes to the river (Rechenka) which was the boundary between living and dead to talk to her dead mother. She is QUITE remarkable

Коренное население здесь называют остяки. От слова ость - базис. Эти народы по внешнему виду и по генетике сходны с Северо-Американскими коренными жителями. Диана выросла в приемной семье. Ее родная мать была алкоголичка и вела неправильный образ жизни. Из 12 беременностей выжила лишь Диана. Кто отец Дианы не знает никто. Возможно он представитель северо-восточных народов России. Ее в 3 года забрали у матери, она росла в детском доме до 4,5 лет. Позже ее усыновила медицинская сестра детского санатория. Это со слов Дианы и ее нынешней Матери из интервью. Диана считает себя русской так как выросла в русской среде.
Что касается особенности подачи материала в драматическом ключе, это объясняется нашей особенностью к драматизации любой музыки вообще. Считается, что это особенность национальной русской культуры. И если вы нашли нечто общее с канадскими индейцами, то возможно их духовная составляющая в творчестве так же культивируется. Это прекрасно, не так ли?

It is a tv show - the voice kind, for non privilaged children. No autotune, this is her real voice, just turned 17 and she is working on her high notes with great results. As a child she was abused and was adopted by an orphanage worker. Vocal lessons were suggested as she was non verbal child ( I think this is the term). First playing with her voice, than speaking, imagine that!!!!

Diana had a rough start in life. Her alcoholic mother did not want her and abused and neglected her. She was abandoned at 3 years old. A relative found her and took her to an orphanage. A worker at the orphanage adopted her, and because she could not speak, sent her to a vocal teacher where she was taught to sing, so she could learn to speak. Now look at her!!!
She is 15 years old at this competition for orphaned children. She won the competition two years in a row. The competition is called 'You are Super'. She is from eastern Russia, but now lives in Moscow, thanks to Igor (bald judge).

No processing😊 her background involves a lot of yodeling so her voice is naturally very laryngeal.

I'd highly suggest another song of hers, from the same show but one year prior when Diana was 14 years old: 'Rechenka'
It's a russian folk song about on orphan girl who was going to marry, but due to a lack of family (and friends) there was no one to see her off (an ancient east slavic tradition before a wedding, somewhere between mourning for the loss of a daughter and celebration for the beginning of a new life as a wife. Or smth like that). So, she goes to a river ('rechenka' in russian language) in the forest, where she pleads to her 'friends' (the river, trees, animals, spirits, ect) to take the role of family and friends.
She herself completely becomes the character of the girl in that performance (she is a natural performer on stage), to the point that even the judges were so mezmerized they seemed to have forgotten that they had to press their buttons and totally jumped at it, when they thought the song was over.

Diana's "Rechenka" is my favorite. Very haunting - in a great way.
There is no processing on her voice. She just lowers her larynx and the placement of the lower tones are far back in her throat. She speaks normally like any 15 year old, but with a lower tone than almost all of them. She is also excellent at yodeling. Contralto is exactly what I would say she is. I have no vocal training. I have just watched many vocal coaches react to this performance.

Here is no autotune. It's her real voice. This girl is very unique.
