Hey Jake! Finally got a chance to grab this and try it out for a project, but when applying the shadow caster, Ae 2024 immediately throws some expression errors. It looks like it's looking for the Global Control Layer in the Shadow Caster effect, and while it's there still throwing the error. Any way to report a bug to you?

I'm sorry if I went too fast for you, but the steps I use are very clear in the video. If you give it another watch and pause after each step, you'll have it installed. Additionally, the installation instructions are written on the product page.

Thanks for this great preset! How do you create the custom controls at the top - i.e. "Shadow Caster > Global Control Layer > Shadow Controls... etc"? My custom presets I make have various Expression Control effects, which get cumbersome. Would love to put it all in a neatly organized top layer like you have. Anyone know?

I dove into Pseudo effects today and got into the XML editing, but hit a snag in AE since the "Open Script Editor" is now elsewhere (missing?) in the new versions, so I can't initiate the effect from PresetEffects.xml. Psuedo Effect Maker seems to bypass all that, so yay!

Does it also work with different languages. Usually presets don't work because the effects are called differently
It should work. I universalized the expressions to avoid any issues, but please let me know if you have any problems.

Is the Void plugin just a null object with 0% opacity and switched as a guide layer?
No, it's a shape layer style to look like a null object set to be a guide layer.

It's called a Pseudo effect, and I make them using an extension called Pseudo Effect Maker. It's by far the easiest way to make custom controls.
