Smooth Guard Pass to Truck Roll in BJJ (Back Take Combo)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 жов 2024
- Recently I posted a video of myself and some tough BJJ Black Belts rolling and training before the No Gi Pans.
There were several techniques used in the video that many of you had questions about.
So I'll go through and answer the technique related questions you have about the roll.
In this video I cover one of the Guard passing back take combinations I used during the training.
It starts with a Double Under Pass variation and then moves into a rolling back take from the, often called, Truck position from 10th Planet.
You may not call it the Truck, but for the sake of the video, it's what we'll use.
I also share the progression of the move and where it came from. As I originally used the Truck position and the rolling back take from other positions like Mount and Turtle first.'
If you were interested in this technique from the previous video, or want a Guard passing back take chain of techniques. Than I hope this video is helpful.
Chew on that. ;)

If you’d ever like to train with the team and I. Check out my gym Derby City MMA in Louisville,KY.
When I first tried that quarter mount roll I didn't have my leg hooked properly and I just straight up rolled away from my training partner like an idiot 😂
Lol
lol, I had to keep a serious face since I was rolling with heavier dudes and could not, get my throw right XD hahaha still feel bad cause i sent him rolling awkwardly the first time too standing there ready for Sumo
I tried to do it today from memory, and went to the wrong side. just went from top to bottom half guard. lol
Adam's face when 10th Planet was mentioned lol
adam always makes a funny face during a video, he just looks at the camera with a silly look in his eye
Killed me!
🤣
Whoop! So funny, pretty much what we did in class this tuesday XD
Adam got that serialkiller look at the end again 😂👍🏻👊🏻
I think I want to eat some waffles with Adam
Man I love your content. I am 14 years old and I am learning a lot from you. Keep it up 👌
Mr. Chewy,
More Adam please.
Much appreciated.
Adam,
More jazz hands.
Many thanks.
Brutally yours,
Dr. Fistingstein Ph.D
i like how your backroll to backtake is simple and do-able , love your videos
Man I remember I used to crush at blue belt level with this move. After quitting bjj for 5 years, I recently just got back. Finding this video just made me love the fact that I'm back even more. Also watching your videos made me make the move to get back on the mats. You're a great guy, hope to meet you one day. Osu!
ahhh theres this dude at my gym doing this trick and I always get stuck in there! next time I come prepared! thanks chewy!
So a truck roll is the same as a berimbolo roll? Or part of a berimbolo? So much terminology in BJJ I struggle to keep up!
“Call like a truck from 10th planet”…. Pay your respects
.5 speed is a game changer thank you i keep messing these up and ending up with my partner in my closed guard which feels like im losing position.
You make everything look so easy. I try that and I'll end up in a banana split. Lol
I've had a few years of practice!
@@Chewjitsu And that, my friend, is why you're my favorite. Haha
Banana split, calf slicer, back take, twister... it’s a fun place to be
Dope variations.
is this Alexander Volkanovsky?
Is this also crab ride (second name)?
Adam = Adam 🎉
Adam = UA-cam GOAT
it looks super cool but I dnt see a point 2 it since there's a easier back take from dat position with less risk.
Byron Humphrey a lot of people get very good at denying hooks and seatbelt. This provides another avenue of attack that many won’t see coming.
...does he fart at 01:36 !?
Adam should just go off one of these videos, like silent bob from pretty much any Kevin Smith movie. Just a short, matter of fact, well thought out, rant or insight.
Thanks for sharing! I hit the rolling back take from the quarter mount yesterday in training.
I tried something close to this in half guard instead of quarter and thats when I had my back taken during the tumble. Seems to be important to have the bottom guy facing away.
I use that roll to go into a twister
Done this today from quarter guard and Turtle guard. Beautiful and smooth roll. Keep up the great videos. Thanks.
what to do when doing over under pass and he place his feet on the ground (or on my hips)? Any tips ?
i tried to sprawl or do push with my own knees his feet up but dident't work
4:32 have i seen that couch before....?
Yeah. . . but let's not talk about that.
Could you please demonstrate a banana split from the truck and from the under cut through pass
Does the roll only in quarter guard, say you didn’t get the knee through the leg. Would you still be able to do the move?
My rolling style is built around these kind of moves
Does this setup work in Gi or does the uniform make things a bit more difficult to pull off?
Its the same.
If anything itll make it easier, didnt fall right, grab the gi, pull and get a better position.
Love your breakdowns man so simple and it sinks in 😎 thanks brotha! 🤙🏻
00:57 Jazz hands! hahahha
Great breakdown
Video made two years ago... First time seeing it and I'm going to use it tomorrow!

The BJJ Gods answered my prayers. Thanks a lot for responding my comment, i will try it tomorrow!
Haha you're welcome and thanks for the question!
Wow that's awesome. Love the videos
Adam?
Adam.
I love that roll, I use it from time to time
🥰😍
could you do a video about how to get the advantages over a bigger wrestler I’m 176 and have to wrestle a 275 guy and would love to know ways to over come his weight
Might I recommend a stick? Lol. Seriously though, if you're going against someone much larger, you're going to have some struggles, especially if they are close to your skill level. That's just life. At least you're getting practice at a disadvantage, and that may give you an advantage later.
Get bigger and stronger yourself. Anyone can - so put the work in.
Holy shit that was smooth
Very cool! 👍🏻🥋
Thanks, boys!
New sub.
Do you ever use the truck position to attack?
Yup
