She couldn't have done any of that without hoppers help. Hopper is the badass, Joyce is just a mom who loves her son. That's extremely admirable but I wouldn't call her badass lol.

Steve’s redemption arc is really great and, apparently, that’s largely thanks to his actor Joe Keery being an all around good dude. If I’m not mistaken Steve was originally just meant to be a dick/bully but everybody involved in the show liked Joe so much that they reconceptualized the character.
I love how it was Nancy's bat that Jonathan put nails in it for his weapon and it became Steve's weapon for the rest of the series lol just give Steve something to swing and he can win a fight lol Steve grew bravely that day because of his love for Nancy he wasn't about to let that thing kill her
What I loved the most about this episode was Steve redeeming himself by stepping in and of course Mike, Dustin, and Lucas standing up for their newfound friend Eleven. One of the greatest things about checking out your reactions is that it reminds me of when I started watching this show. It was back when season 2 had premiered. People were raving so much about this show that I binged the first season. Thankfully, season 2 was already available by the time I caught up. We can’t wait for more.
So many people didn’t understand that Hopper sold the kids out when this first aired. It was weird seeing it al over Reddit and stuff - loads of people asking, “How did they know they were at the school?” And I was like 🤦♀️ Glad you got it LOL!
I think it was GENIUS for them to give Lucas his moment with the Wrist rocket!! With it seemingly “taking down” the Demogorgon! No it technically wasn’t Lucas but I know most of us were secretly hoping it would have some awesome effect on him, and it did! (Not technically but they STILL gave us that moment!) ❤❤ SO COOL!
Hoppers backstory is so heartbreaking, the show does a great job of feeding it out bit by bit to us. Also Steve has the greatest heel turn I've ever seen. Can't wait for you guys to watch season two

The fact that Chad originally pitched this as a "feel good show" is kind of telling of how far its fallen/changed since season 1 lol... I love listening to you theorize about the show at the end here. Personally, my favorite part of Stranger Things was theorizing about it after seasons 1 and 2. The mystery was so rich and interesting. I didn't love the way the show goes after that, but that's just my opinion, it's still a fantastic show with great characters.

I must say I really enjoy you ladies reactions y'all remind me so much of me and my best friend when we were younger, she had black hair and white skin even though she was full Hispanic and I have olive tan skin and colored blonde hair, I really have medium brown hair and at the time I was thin and in shape, now I have two kids and not skinny anymore lol but just the way y'all talk reminds me of us. We haven't talked in ten years I don't know why, I know I got busy with my family but we would still talk sometimes and try to meet up at a restaurant to catch up once in a while but one day she asked me for a favor I said I couldn't do it because the thing she wanted to use had gotten broken and i told her i needed to buy a new one, that was the last time I ever talked to her I tried calling her on her birthday and for weeks at a time she never answered or called me back, now I have changed my number and I don't have hers anymore because of my knew phone all of my old numbers are stuck in my old phone that won't turn on so I can't get them out, but she never called me back for years before I even got my new phone I even left her voicemails, i was wondering if something bad happened to her but i would think her mom or sister would have got my number from her phone and let me know after all we grew up together in my neighborhood. I just figured she would eventually call me we usually went long periods of time without talking but not to return a phone call for this long is odd. Sorry for the long story lol I'm just trying to say watching y'all brings back memories of how we used to be lol.
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but Stranger Things was originally intended to be a stand-alone miniseries turned anthology with each season centered around a new story and characters, but they knew they had a good thing and continued the S1 story..
-Starts out as a jerk who antagonizes the protagonists. -Disheveled. -With a hurt face. -Redeems himself in epic fashion. -Becomes a favorite. Clearly, Steve is the Zuko of Stranger Things.
To me Nancy, Jonathan and Steve were in a game of DnD fighting the demogorgon. Nancy plays a ranger, Steve is the warrior, and Jonathan like Will plays a mage and throws fireballs.

I heard Batman was originally just gonna be a misguided vigilante but everyone liked Michael Keaton so much they decided to make him a superhero.
