- There are many pitfalls and mistakes that can be made when it comes to taking hormone replacement therapy and I wanted to let you in on 5 things that I think women fall prey to
Top 5 mistakes with hormones:
1. NO PELLETS - EVER!
2. PROVIDERS - BE CAREFUL OF NAMS PROVIDERS - MAY NOT BE TOO GOOD OR MAY LACK HIGH QUALITY TRAINING.
3. CHECK THE CREDENTIALS OF YOUR PROVIDER - VET THEM.
4. BE CAREFUL ABOUT A PUSH TO TAKE A LOT OF SUPPLEMENTS - A FEW MAY BE NEEDED..
5. DON'T GIVE UP!
That’s about it
Mary Claire Haver suggested a NAMS doctor…
She’s treated me
Like SHIT I left being brow beat me, wouldn’t even discuss hormone, statins and anti depressant was her answer, I
Picked up my purse, walked out weeping…made me feel insane, UNTIL I looked at my levels
At home, made my appointment with Dr Tassone,
LADIES, DO NOT GO TO A NAMS DOCTOR!!!!
This is exactly what I mean
Just FYI, I am a retired nurse. So my ? mark about the "Nurse" that was loading those pellets may not have been an actual nurse, just a medical assistant. I don't know or care at this point, I'm not going back. You cracked me UP calling me out on the Cougar remark LOL The "Def Leppard" part was the joke, I have two sons in their 30s LOL ewww...can't even imagine going there. SO glad I found you, you rock, Doc!
Medical assistants cannot put pellets in
This was EXCELLENT. I'm thrilled you are licensed here in Wisconsin. My NAMS NP told me i missed my window for hormone replacement. I entered menopause at 55 and have not been on anything since. She said starting now, Im 67, would be dangerous. I have grown increasingly miserable over the past year. I can barely get through a day.
I am insured through Kaiser and am 68 years old. It is nearly impossible to get a referral to a gynecologist for menopausal symptoms. I was able to talk my GP into prescribing estradiol BUT he did so without any testing before or since. No monitoring of any kind. I guess I’m just lucky I didn’t get pellets! Since watching your videos, I’m motivated to find a new doctor and will look into changing insurance during the next open enrollment.
My new gynecologist says she is uncomfortable with my high doses of estradiol and progesterone. I’m not paying her hundreds of dollars to improve her comfort level. I’m paying her to help relieve me of my menopausal symptoms such as insomnia, edginess and night sweats (also vagnal tears for which she prescribed a vaginal estrogen). How do I go about finding another gynecologist in in Laguna Hills CA, I’m 72?
I’m
Licensed in California 512-956-0296
I was told by my gynecologist that I only needed hormones for 1 year because after 1 year I wont have symptoms of menopause? ROFL. Needless to say I'm still on hormones and I know way better than that not because I am an RN but because I have common sense.
That’s a lazy provider
I had to watch the part where you read the question about men’s testosterone and then cast it about in your mind for a moment before the best laugh! Ahaha so good.
What credentials am looking for in finding a Bioidentical hormone replacement doctor?
Look at their reviews listen to their message and look at their training
I’ve been on pellets for 5 years, I’d like to try something different. I’m going to buy your book.
I’m in the state of Wisconsin, do you do telemedicine?
Yes I do 512-956-0296
Thank you for your awesome knowledge. I am having to help myself . I had bloodwork last week. Have not heard anything. I called them today. Thank you , I looked for your book today on Amazon. Didn’t see it. I will keep looking.😊
I tried Feminessence and had to stop after a week, it made me over the top hungry…all day. My appetite went through the roof!
Progesterone made me super depressed and emotional and I can’t take ithe oral pill minimum dose of 100 mg. A past Dr was ok with compounding bioidentical progesterone as an oral troach at 50 mg, but my new Dr in different state (I moved) is totally against compounded hormones and I’m being forced to take the Combi patch with progestin and now I’m back to feeling over emotional again and it’s making life difficult. I don’t want to get an IUD either. She’s accused me of being depressed (I’m not) and wants me to try medroxyprogesterone next. I’m getting irritated not being listened to and her refusing to think outside the box. Are you Licensed in Oregon?
Hey Dr. Dr. Tassone! Question: 55 y.o., had hysterectomy at age 42 for endometriosis, no discussion about HRT so I've been postmenopausal for 11-13 years (one ovary was left). I am starting to feel like crap: fatigue, body aches, joint stiffness, no libido, and I feel emotionally flat (not depressed, just flat like nothing excites me).... Is it too late for me to start HRT? I am healthy, no meds. BMI is 22. Don't smoke
Told we have 0 hormones after menopause so how can you balance 0 😮
You can leave it at zero or you bring it up and stabilize it there
@dr. Tassone Would women over 70 yr old, never on hormone replacement therapy , and have neen menopause for 25 years, benefit from hormone replacement therapy? any risk of stroke or heart attack to start so late on hormone replacement therapy? wanted to be on hormone therapy for preventing osteoporosis getting worse
Are you licensed in Tennessee? Not finding the info on your website. Loving the videos.
Yes I am
If breasts hurt after increasing estrogen, does it mean the uterine lining is getting thicker and will result in a bleed?
It usually is an indication that your dose is too high. If you still have a uterus, you should be balancing the estrogen with progesterone, which is necessary in order to prevent thickening of the uterine lining.
@@MaryBethMcCoy I am on .05 patch E and 200mg P. I have heard a lot from the British docs about dosage and the fact that when starting hrt or changing dosage, one can expect the bleeding and breast / nipple sensitivity the first 6 months. I wanted to see if Dr T would comment.
