That being said even though it’s a good catchphrase. Maybe saying it to much can make you sound repetitive. That being said first time I watched a video by you and I really liked it. That being said I’m prob going to subscribe! That being said I think I over killed the joke.
Thing is, I started classic leveling a priest and I got bored so quickly. Not bored because of the gameplay of classic, bored because I wasn't looking forward to getting higher levels in a way, like I didn't feel right playing what is the best healer class on classic. I switched to a druid and immediately felt happier. I don't care if I won't be the best healer for pvp or pve, I'm enjoying my time on classic now and that's all that matters.
I find druid enjoyable because its not the best at one thing. I think thats the point of the class. Versatility. I love being able to get a slice of mage or warrior or rogue. So its fair its not top tier in those categories. I plan on specing hybrid with a concentration feral because you can still adequately heal. I'm excited to learn how to really play this class to its fullest. My only salty note is that druids dont get a regular revive and that sucks ass.
Yeah man. No point investing hundreds of hours into a class if it doesn't resonate with you. Especially in classic, I'd say play whatever class/race combination appeals to you.
@@MrEverisforever the problem with that answer is... that requires people who aren't the druid to suck. Druids are okay with lesser gear, but the main problem in PVP is that in order to use all their tricks, you need to switch forms. Which costs mana, a lot of mana. It's the real big hindrance to druids in pvp even if you disregard the atrocious scaling problem druids have. So a twink rogue/warrior/warlock will have much better scaling with gear.
Druid was my "first love" in WoW, TBC specifically. When leveling, I loved being cat in 5-mans (up until I got to Outlands)... I could emergency tank, emergency heal, combat rez, innervate. I was a panic button. In WSG I found my niche as a flag carrier. But more than all that, I loved the feel of the class. The fact that I felt like 4 classes condensed into one. The flexibility I bought to a group. The ability to pick my own fights in world PvP. The feeling of smoothness compared to other, clunky feeling classes. The entire fantasy - and in-game mechanics - of shapeshifting. The feel and flavor of our spells. The unspoken Druid Code, still a thing at the time. And of course, Moonglade... A sanctuary for Tauren and Night Elves alike (except for during the Lunar Festival... UGH at the people desecrating our grove), a place that reminded me that I'm more than a druid of the Horde... Turn back? No way! Sure I'll have other classes... But I am a Druid at heart, and simply that warm sensation of homecoming when my newly born Tauren draws energy from the Earth upon his first cast of Wrath cannot be replicated by any other class. Winds be at your back, friends :)
I started also as a druid in BC. I never topped the healing or dps meters but I didn't care. It was so fun. Running faster, versatile, what more do you want?
I was actually killed at Moonglade by a horde Druid, I think they realized they could one-shot me and went for it. Not all druids accept the code I suppose.
Paladin was my main alllll wayyy to Cataclysm... And Paladin have a lot of fun WITH A LOT OF PAIN!! PvP will be your pain!! Priests/warlock and mages that is a pain! Mana burn/mana drain/ and CC all the time. You can cast heal ONLY when you stay. Holy Shock once 30 sec that is a joke. But if you are correct spec, rogues and warriors are totally not a problem. You will be always soo slow, because Paladin is the most static class in vanilla. But you have a lot abilities to escape CC. With HUUUGE CD )) So, yes enjoy Paladin class. That is a good class. Many ppl are thinking that is very simple class. I'm totally not agree with that! ))
I'm pretty sure holy paladins are OP once you get critical strike gear. They never run oom cause they just crit with flash of light Buffs are annoying .
Druids are strong in the variety of abilities they have, more than any other class in the game It's not for everybody, and it's not easy But goddam is it fun ;)
Ebbnflow: Druids are a bad choice, everything else is better than them and you need to avoid this class. ... but don't let me discourage you, have fun playing it. Me: umm...
The most discouraging part is druids will get relatively weaker and weaker with every new phase. Whats the point of playing? In 2005 people atleast could hope for class balance improvements. But now we know what future is coming.
Because I play to have fun, not be the absolute best class. Even if Druids were outright told “hey we don’t like your class, you’re getting zero attention” I’d still play one. The fact is, Druids are just so damn fun
Druid is the ultimate SUPPORT class, not healer or dps, its a support, you peel, heal, defend, flag carry etc, your the niche pick, extremely important and versatile. Which is why they are FUN!
@@JELKEK a piece of gear that is not related to any gear set. In this context, a piece of gear no other class needs for raiding but is a nice addition for a druid. For example the druid tanking pieces in aq40 or some random items in bwl. Alot of shit noone uses/wants is usefull to a druid, in one way or another in most cases in pvp
that has been the plan of all Druid main's since the survey shows more people picking druids than expected. ;D but I dont choose druid because They seem strong, I choose druid because I like The druid fantasy. as such I would try to push my skills to make Druid Shine above the rest. (and if I feel the need to be an OP druid I can jump on retail for a bit ;;;D)
"Just because you're not topping meters doesn't mean you're useless" This one sentence is what the WoW community has failed to understand, and why Blizzard abandoned the concept of "support" as a fourth role early on. But then I'll be using my druid mostly for farming and jobs anyway, so I won't really care about meters too much.
Druid doesnt even have good support abilities though. Battle ress is weak af and innervate just gives mana. The content is easier than on private servers so people will only want damage increases, not defensive shit. If people get to choose then druid is never the choice.
@@puppe213 'Innervate just gives mana' Bruh, the amount of time's I've saved healers/dps if they fucked up by shifting out and healing/manaing them... If you're not planning on being in a top tier Guild of nolifers farming MC every day then druid is a great choice if you want to play it.
@@puppe213 the druid has the most support abilities, and the best buffs. (EDIT: Okay I think the shaman and paladin actually have the druid beat in amount of support abilities.) Yeah they all needed to be improved, in fact if you want to see a prime example of what could have been, check out Lord of the Rings' Captain class. My point was that instead of taking what the druid had in support and making the whole class, or at least spec, about that, they ditched the idea.
I have played a druid since Vanilla... and the expectation I have is to play Resto yet again. It's a comfortable role and one I will happily slip back into once again. We're a solid base class and a fun one. It will be fun to get back into Molten Core once again. I miss the old Healing Touch healing approach - never felt right to be a rejuve HOT machine.
I’ve only played wow since TBC and always as a Druid. Being a hots healing monster that always topped the meters is all I’ve ever known. I’m excited for the Healing Touch challenge and curious about my beloved class pre-TBC.
I just hit 50 with my druid. Hearing these things are discouraging; however, being able to tank/heal/dps anytime I feel like it is still pretty awesome.
Agree but understand this. I only want one classic character. If/when BC/wrath comes out, I want to play druid. Druid now is both an investment and a challenge. Also, mailboxes aren't going to dance themselves.
I want a druid for tbc, but this is vanilla. Do I level one now to be ready for when tbc comes, or do I just hold off in case the tbc servers are fresh restarts lol
When I started thinking what class I wanted to play in classic, I picked rogue first since I wanted to do some stealthy shenanigans. I felt like I will be doing one and the same thing over and over again. When I thought what are my other options druids came up. Back in vanilla I played shaman and then paladin and I remember that I played them just because of their ability to have answer to every situation. This is also why I picked druid now. People are too obsessed with being "top" at the dps/hps meters with classes which are not supposed to. In PVE you can't utilize all your toolkit and you will never be as useful as other classes who are able to. In PVP on other hand, druids are monsters if you know what you are doing. You are never a healer only, you are never a dps only, you are never a tank only. You are all at once. It requires incredible decision-making to be a good druid and this is why I know I will love playing druid. Also druids are always the one who get their epic sets first. Good luck rolling on that ring of spellpower with another 12 mages and 8 warlocks.
Druid is one of those classes that I personally would never play, but I'm always glad to see at least one of them in my group. They provide some pretty unique utility tools that other classes don't have. Even a bad druid can still provide buffs and utility tools that other classes don't have access to.
I agree ebn. People are wanting to play a class they think they remember from 15 years ago. I am playing a class i rarely played through wow to make my classic experience good. Thank you for your content.
i first started playing druid a few weeks before TBC and i fell in love with the class rolling druid in each expansion and will be playing it in classic.
I watch your video's just in case there is any 100% NEEDED information. But for the most part, I'm going to play druid knowing fully that they have many ups and downs, I'm going to make up my own spec and figure out play styles for myself. Trial and error is just more fun than everybody immediately going for MLG optimal nolifer minmax builds.
It’s funny, because in the downer feeling time of this video everything Ebbn says, and is explaining is exactly what makes the druid and it’s exactly why I’ve played one for over a decade and have main’d one in vanilla for four years now and will continue to play it as my main. I absolutely love the class.
Reasons for Ferals in raids: 1. You can buff a melee party in raid with +3% crit. 2. You can Off-Tank, but play a Rogue-like role for DPS. This allows you to slot them as a Rogue for raid comp, but get an OT for a fight like the Four Horsemen. 3. Druid OTs do not take set items and armor drops from Warriors, allowing a raid to gear Warrior MT and OTs faster. 4. Druid OTs do not take set items from Rogues, allowing a raid to gear their Rogues more quickly. 5. Bear Druids have excellent single-target threat. It is reputed to be the #1 single-target threat generating class. In an OT role, this allows for their mob to be burned down quickly, minimizing stress on the raid. 6. Any Druid can shift from an OT or Melee DPS role to raid healing and decursing, allowing them to change roles to fit the needs of the raid, at any time. 7. By having a Feral, you can get both the Leader of the Pact (For a group) and Mark of the Wild. There is no need in a raid for Druids to fill a Resto role, as healing and decursing can be fully performed by Shamans and Paladins, so the raid can benefit from these buffs, while gaining an OT. Essentially, your one Druid doesn't have to just be a less-than-optimal healer - they can be an excellent OT. This also allows more of your Warriors to stick to DPS. 8. A Feral can perform any function that is needed of a Resto, in a raid. This allows you to slot them as raid healer/decurser, but use them as a tank in a particular fight.
Leader of the Pack applies to the party and not the entire raid, but everything else is spot on. My raiding guild has a feral tank for all the reasons you listed. He may end up doing less tanking as time passes and our warriors get better gear, but the threat generation early on will be nice for people transitioning from retail back into Classic where threat is an actual mechanic that DPS need to be aware of.
Thing i like about druids is that its the one hybrid spec that actually has to be played as a hybrid. Even if you are specced out into feral you still need to pop out of feral forms to use offensive and defensive spells. Its so versatile. The main thing that stops me from levelling one as a healer alt is its lack of an out of combat rez. It really should have one with combat rez on its long cooldown being its unique gimmick. Much like how shammies get to rez themselves on a cooldown for their unique gimmick but still have a normal out of combat rez.
There might be very few druids, but this also means the demand is high, druids arent useless regardless what people say/think. Im sticking to druid, Less druids > im more unique> More items for me in raids
Thanks for the real talk ebn. Im going to play a drood anyways. I like to be outside in the world, questing, doing wpvp and skilling professions. No need to be the best in terms of damage/healing. Im going to be the best in Versatility (and the best cook on my server, flooding the AH with nightfin soup!)
Thank you for the "harsh" truth, but I am still determined to carve my own path and become a successful druid once more as I have been throughout nearly the entire WoW lifespan :) I was never looking to top meters, but rather to enjoy the special playstyle, flexibility and class fantasy druid offers. In addition I have found my home in a wonderful guild that welcomes so called "memespecs" and casual play, so that will also not be an issue should I choose to go bear/cat/moonkin instead of the typical resto healer role.
hunters are also good 'when played right' there are a million bad hunters though and few bad druids, so even being a bad druid makes you more valuable than most
Nope. If you're a bad druid then you are 100% worthless. Balance and Feral DPS are both almost worthless. Especially on Horde where Feral can't benefit from windfury so you would max have 1 in a raid usually and hopefully none. In fact really hardcore raid comps literally have 1 -2 druids and both of them are main Resto.
@@crabmilk360 No dude they DO NOT benefit from windfury. Windfury affects your weapon and druids do not deal damage with their weapon? The fact that you don't know that means you either don't play druid or are not a good druid player. You ever wonder why a feral Dps's best weapon is level 34 blue in manual crowd pummeler???
Dennis Wallace A bad Druid is free HK, and pretty useless in PvE (or at least, easily replaceable). Even a shit Hunter can spam viper sting, wing clip, scatter shot and put traps this and there while getting focused in PvP. Mails and larger HP pool along with CCs/snares/slows make Hunters a quite forgiving class compared to the rest, which is literally the opposite of Druids. A Druid who isn’t in bear form is as durable as a rogue without CDs - and not being in bear form or at the right place at the right moment is an extremely easy mistake to make. Druids are the least forgiving class in Classic, and are overall harsh.
@@connor654 My guy, Vanilla/Classic WoW is so stupidly, hilariously simple that a bad *anything* normally isn't going to make or break a fight, let alone be considered "useless". Your balance/feral druid doing less DPS than everyone else (let alone most the raid) isn't going to cause some automatic wipe. Unless there's a boss mechanic where that happens I'm unaware of. Anyways, on the topic of usefulness... Feral has: Faerie fire, for armor reduction on bosses, which is a net buff for all dps, and Leader of the pack for 3% melee crit in your group. (Not raid wide, but still affects 4 other melees and yourself if your raid lead has half a brain when it comes to organizing shit). Mark buff, thorns, innervate, the capability to emergency tank, and heal (healing is rare, but it can happen). Decursing and poison cleansing. Boomkin has: 3% party wide spell crit, insect swarm (debuff prio allowing ofc) and faerie fire. The option to offheal or emergency heal is much more doable in comparison to feral because you're wearing caster gear and normally in ranged distance anyways. Actually- generally all the same stuff feral has, just with slightly more ease of use in comparison. Improved thorns is neat too, even though it's early enough for restos to take. Yes, I'm aware that resto can do (almost) all these things, but using that as a counterargument is kinda dumb. "But resto can do all that!" doesn't negate the fact that these tools are still at any other druid's disposal. People are gonna have to learn sooner or later that viable and optimal are two different things, and what you want to do can very likely be done in a game like WoW, with some limitations obviously. For example: Shaman tank is a thing. It's not very viable past a certain point for raiding, but it's doable to an extent if you put in the work, and you still bring shaman utility regardless.
This can be applied to all classes. This is WoW Classic. All classes are amazing in situations and absolutely horrible in others and will make you want to reroll. Druids, however, are the jack of all trades and useful in most all encounters while useless in very little.
@@Jkg71 fact that mages are popular* and i can't blame them, they ranged, have good cc, damage, crazy aoe, mana regen, a shield as well as an invincibility, teleport, can reset all cds and basically everything short of the best armor and healing
The majority of players already avoid druids :p I see what your trying to do...more druid gear for yourself...ha wont stop me from becoming worlds worst druid in classic
Ebbn, love you giving us both the real good and the real bad up front. In my case, I stick with my decision going resto druid and looking forward to fighting/healing/supporting my way out of that clear underdog role :)
During naxx I was the only druid in a horde 40 man. You can imagine the amount of gold I burned every raid night buffing 8 group with gift of the wild after every wipe. I could not sustain it, even though I had a geared lock to farm with. When I asked for some compensation given nobody else wanted to play druid I was labelled a whiner.
@@blackyvertigo so your guild just kept wiping a hundred times every week instead of getting a better gear and/or tactics first? Wow. Still, its not a druid class problem, just a shitty guild. Be sure everyone else burned just as much gold as you were.
Dude all the positivity you had in previous videos went down the zink in this one.. As a class that can play every singel role shouldn't be topping meters! We can play anything for peep sake, now that's amazing my friend!
@@connor654 what the bear tank is there for is a threat tank. they can produce much high tps than a warrior so those bosses that are dps races or bosses with adds at start. they are amazing at being 1st kill target tanks. and that warrior needs gear to offtank. which is being eaten up by multiple other plate tanks. that bear tank will be easy to gear up for a guild and make the whole raid as a whole better geared and give more utility since they have innervate and a brez..
You dont need to do anything not is anything required, i havent seen a single guild that bans balance or feral druids, no one cares. Even apes have a balance druid, i guess they suck too?
Most informative and correct druid video, for new people, that I've seen. I played druid for 90% of vanilla (played shammy/druid for SK.Gaming in TBC), I played on what I would think was one of the best PvP servers at the time (Stormscale.EU) and I could count on one hand the amount of good/well played druids on the server. But for me, if it weren't for the druid class I'd never played WoW again, coming back now after 11 years.
Thanks Ebbnflow. I watched some other "class guides"/"what class should you play" videos by various people, and a lot of folks said how beastly druid was, and how it's a lesser known yet pretty OP class. This video totally changed my mind, and provided a really knowledgeable insight into what playing a druid is actually like. It will be my first time ever playing WoW in 3 days. I'm glad you made this so that I can start with a more beginner friendly class, then maybe move into druid later as an experiment just for fun :)
Ill be honest, you've not said anything i didn't already expect. My interest in the druid is for its world PvP potential, particularly with an NS/moonglow or moonfury build. Ive been practicing what i can on the private servers and its clear this class has a HUGE learning curve. I don't mind healing, im quite contempt with it. Im really not sure how well i will do as a druid in PvP, it all feels quite daunting but i understand what i need to do and how to approach certain situations, i just need to apply it and practice applying it. Ive already won some duel though ive lost many too. Hopefully im making the right decision to main a druid.
One annoying thing when playing to your full potential as a hybrid class, that I've experienced on private servers, is that you could get told to "stick to your role". For example I was tanking an instance, but in between pulls I was throwing off heals (or shifthing out in combat to ns+heal someone getting rly low) to save the healer's mana - and the healer got pissed because he felt obsolete ^^ And yes, I was keeping aggro and staying alive. The healer explicitly told me that it annoyed him that I took his role... Same thing could happen if you are in a group as a healer and you go cat or bear to boost dps or pick up a loose mob/interrupt some crucial spell (even if you are keeping everyone alive, staying low on threat and conserving mana, and basically just making the run smoother).
Still going moonkin despite the negative aspects. I'll be doing all I can to negate the whole non-viable status for that spec. I want to range dps, but play a druid. For me it's the only reason I want to even play WoW. The play style it self is more up my alley than going lock or mage. I know it's an uphill battle, but that too is part of the fun.
I'm a new subscriber and new to the Druid for Classic. Although this is somewhat disheartening for a new player to hear. I really appreciate the honesty. I'm hoping that I can continue to learn from you and be at least a good druid. Thanks for all you do for the wow community especially Druids.
DO NOT reroll based off of what someone says is good or bad. PLAY WHAT YOU LOVE. The rest will come I promise.I've seen rets 1v3 before anything possible in vanilla. All that matters is that you are having fun on the class you like the most.
Good video. Harsh at times, but critical. I like that you didn't sugar coat it, but gave a realistic perspective. I've been maining druid almost exclusively since late wrath, but there are distinct reasons why I found it less appealing early on. You hit them here very well. I love the class, but in Classic you need to outperform others to break even. Which is do-able, but is not for everyone. Nice video
“How will Druids change as the phases roll out?” “They don’t change much, but other classes get burstier.” Have you seen that Warsong Gulch dropping in phase 3 tho👀 Watch me get those flags gang
One of the best druid youtubers for classic out there! Give him more likes guys! Mature, well structured scripts, good and solid info. What else do you need? I m gonna main a druid for classic just as I did back then. I ve suffered all the bad itemisation, bad talent trees before the druid patch, the pvp grind to have some decent gear, the horrible stigma, all the harsh behaviour against us to my skin. So why do it again? Simple answer is nostalgia, uniqueness, versatility and having a class that is not a one button spec. Keep up the good work Eb! Quick question: I m finding mixed info about professions. I m going for the SHotM enchanting trinket. So I ve decided to go skin/ench and drop ench when I finally create the trinket. Taladril and some other people tell me not to bother with enchanting while leveling and power-level when I hit 60. I m thinking all the items I can disenchant while leveling and that it will save me a lot of gold and mats in the long run. What are your thoughts?
I just naturally come to the decision that a Druid fits my personality and my play style perfectly. Not olayed all classes but the ones I have just didn’t feel right.
Not really even that big of a deal. Druids are decent at most things, but their true skill is their versatility. Open world pvp and adventuring in the world in general is amazing as a druid. They have nearly everything to meet the occasion and adapt. The problem is when you think of them in the same way as other classes and compare damage and healing the same way. Instead you should consider their versatility and your skill at using that versatility. They are high skill because their is a lot to consider and make use of, and require quick and proper consideration on the fly on what to do at any point in time. They have stealth and cc that can allow them to go in and out of combat to recover and harass, or approach situations in different ways. Playing smart and creatively is nice. Use stealth to ambush, escape, maneuver through mobs to get to or away from danger, stalk, scout, esc... Pop out and ambush with spells and then pop out and exit combat and stalk from the shadows as they widdle down and pop back in when they try to start recovering. All types of unique fun tactics honestly. Over time effects allow both healing and damaging while not actually staying in the fight if your able to keep distance.
Hey man that's a cool little fantasy you got there except mana is still limited so you end up doing fuck all anyway. Swap forms a couple times, cast a few spells and oh wait you're actually almost oom and almost dead cuz the other classes are doing real shit to you at which point you do the only thing druid is good at which is go travel form and run like the little twat you are. Druids smfh
Hey Ebbn I noticed you a said the healing coefficient is different in classic than the private servers. Is there a link you can provide that breaks down the math? I am worried my preparations may be considering the Private servers healing coefficient. Thanks man keep up the great videos!!
Druid is such a flexible class. You can do so many things that it leaves very little room for downtime because there's always a goal you can strive to accomplish. Classic isn't just about raids or battlegrounds. There is so much to do and druid is one of those classes that let you get the most out of it. I was originally going to play warrior because I was coming from a very retailesque point of view and wanted to be the best at a certain thing. Now I realize that isn't the best approach and I can safely say i'm way more excited to play my druid and figure out all the cool shit I can do on it than I ever was about playing a warrior.
I played a Balance / Resto hybrid in all of classic and BC for PvP. It is complex, assuredly. It has huge pay offs though and was my favourite class to play for a long time. I know most raids will look at the raw numbers classes put out for their dps/heals when deciding who to take, but great raid leaders will know that there is much more to it than that. You can't account for things like "the dps of your druid is somewhat combined with the guy you just battle rezzed. Or your dps + those guys you just saved with a well timed tranquility. Feral druids can even off tank in an emergency if the tank dies.
i knew what i was coming into, thats why i made druid my alt lol. i think all the information that you, skarm, and shedo have provided could make any druid have peak performance
I love hybrids and utility and support they provide! When I raided as retri, I always looked after other guys, BoP him, toss freedom in her, LoH a tank. In Classic I gonna play feral and won't bother about farming consumables and leveling prof to craft a trinket and drop it and farming 5 weapons to use them all in 1 fight. But I will try to help my team as good as I can and have fun. And be a one-man-army in the open.
Nice video - and I think it might be needed - I've had a feeling that you, and a lot of the other great druid players around, have been making druids seem super attractive (Druid CAN meme suddenly became a thing). Druids definitely CAN, but as you say it takes effort, probably more so than most other classes. So I think it's very nice of you to be straight about that. And thanks for improving my chances of keeping all the loot to myself...
I usually play priest that’s my main, first time I’m playing Druid and I love them. Leveling is amazing, the fact I enjoy playing a supportive class. Druids for the win.
Totally cool to see more naysayers about druids. More fun and phat loots for the rest of us. Good luck to everybody out there willing to stick it out with druid. You’re a special breed and we’re going to have fun in Classic
I played a Feral druid back in Vanilla as an alt, and I loved tanking even though Swipe was horrible for multi-target threat. In later expansions, I loved Balance. I'm skipping druid entirely this time around because I would like to actually enjoy excelling at a role.
I kinda started doing low level druid PVP in Cata as I stopped playing. Loads of fun, and the only class I could tolerate besides mage at the time. Now that I'm going to do Classic, I think I want to main Druid instead of Mage; I enjoy the high skill cap.
I've enjoyed druid the most through my wow career and I plan on rolling one in classic (even after the video, the first minute just further cemented that decision lol). I know what I'm getting myself into and keeping the fact in mind that as a druid you aren't optimal at most things/the class itself isn't forgiving I see it as an opportunity to give 110% and distinguish yourself from the players that don't. Some may like it and some don't, but I think this video is important to the latter just for pointing out that you won't be the optimal choice for role x so thank you Ebb! Still, a jack of all trades but a master of none is still better than a master of one ;)
I played Warrior from vanilla to WotlK ... i was successful in PvP on horde side and even in classic there was never a class that healed me more sustained like the druid did .. IF u ignored the heal , everybody was better, but in PvP a Healer has to run and no healer could run faster than a Druid ... And we Raided very successful AQ40 WITH a Druid Tank (of course other Tanks too) the Healers always mentioned that , Yes he is constandly getting dmg , but there are never such damage-spikes like a warri has .
I’ve found that having a ton of agility for druids is the best stat to stay in the fight against heavy dps classes, which forces them to retreat because your armor/dodge is so good. Druids are especially good at running away and chasing. Having high stamina/agility allows the Druid the ability to take 1v1 easily and even 1v4s are possible if you can finess their healers.
Thanks for the vid! I'm sure people will reroll after they get their first taste of classic druid. It's not easy being second or third in every category, jack of all trades curse.
Great advice, gonna go out and rush to make my mage where I'll just do nothing but spam frostbolt while I develop a mental illness from the repetitive, unchallenging insanity that is its gameplay.
It's good to make it very clear that Druid is not for everyone. But I am a seasoned support player and enjoy enabling my team to crush any content. I tried Paladin, but there is no satisfaction in topping the healing meters, it's just boring. I play Druid, because I AM SUPPORT.
It is mana efficient for sure but takes 3.5 secs to cast. Besides on lvl 50+ dungeons a rank 4 healing touch (around 400-500 hp) will barely move a warriors life bar. So despite being the most mana efficient healing spell in game, it's almost not usable on late game.
@@vinaobalaseca wrong. You should be rocking around 600 healing bonus in P3 with your epics, rank4 becomes what u do when the tank is NOT dying, as casting it costs almost nothing, if the tank drops u should immediatelly pop a big (2k) heal or a regrowth
Amazing stuff, this vid comes just in time. I can´t decide if I go druid or hunter, it´s sooo difficult. Hunter would make much more sense as I have not much time unfortunately to play the game, 8 - 10 hours a week. I will probably never raid as no time, dungeons also very limited. Majority will be solo farming gold/herbs and PvP. With more time I would definitely roll Druid knowing it´s not a good tank, not a good healer and not a good DD, with time you can compensate that..
I like this video because it highlights the thought process of someone who will not be successful in classic wow (NOT talking about Ebbnflow) in general if someone is thinking I want to play the most OP class and do the most damage and be top DPS in raids and own others in PvP as druid they aren't going far. Whatever class you want to play, the role is strictly defined by blizzard. If you playing Druid you need to understand you are a utility class. Trying to play a class for something it is not will lead to frustration and saying "the class sucks". I'm playing druid main because I want to be that utility. I know I won't be top heals or dps ever but I will be the one to run flags like no one else, I know that if someone accidentally pulls trash and the tank died I can HOT myself, bear form and try to save. People trying to "fit a square peg in a circular hole" so to speak, will be the first ones to go back to retail.
This is why my plan is to start with Druid and have a Priest to perhaps transition to maybe during BWL. I intend on sticking with the Druid, but also having a backup in case I’m not able to gear up enough to really pull Druid off. We’ll see how much time I really have to play! Lol

I don't care if I won't be the best healer for pvp or pve, I'm enjoying my time on classic now and that's all that matters.
carolina what server
carolina I agree girl preach It druids gotta stick together
I find druid enjoyable because its not the best at one thing. I think thats the point of the class. Versatility. I love being able to get a slice of mage or warrior or rogue. So its fair its not top tier in those categories. I plan on specing hybrid with a concentration feral because you can still adequately heal. I'm excited to learn how to really play this class to its fullest.
My only salty note is that druids dont get a regular revive and that sucks ass.
i agree happiness first
I had the same with mage. felt boring to level didn't even reach level 10. Swapped to druid and had a lot more fun.
Wow you must be fun at Moonglade parties...
Maining druid its by far my favourite class fantasy. Who cares about being top
Agreed 100%
Yeah man. No point investing hundreds of hours into a class if it doesn't resonate with you. Especially in classic, I'd say play whatever class/race combination appeals to you.
ionno, go ask a gay forum who cares about being top :3
They can be the top in pvp, he doesn't know what he's talking about
@@MrEverisforever the problem with that answer is... that requires people who aren't the druid to suck.
I feel you, but can u tell me about the code? U mean being a defender azeroth's and peaceful? Or dont hurt other druids?

With HUUUGE CD ))
So, yes enjoy Paladin class. That is a good class.

You may not top charts on a paldin, but holy hell don't complain. Everyone wanted a paladin for raiding because of those MASSIVE BUFFS
They want a *Holy* paladin for those Massive Buffs

Lmfao that was funny
I'm pretty sure holy paladins are OP once you get critical strike gear. They never run oom cause they just crit with flash of light
Buffs are annoying .
Druids are strong in the variety of abilities they have, more than any other class in the game
It's not for everybody, and it's not easy
But goddam is it fun ;)
This video honestly convinced me to play Druid more, thanks!
Trying to hoard all the leather to yourself Ebn? Shame.
all part of my master plan... :)
The main reason for me playing a druid is thst noone else wants the strange offpieces
Nerfi Mcnerfnerf What’s an “offpiece”?
@@JELKEK a piece of gear that is not related to any gear set. In this context, a piece of gear no other class needs for raiding but is a nice addition for a druid. that has been the plan of all Druid main's since the survey shows more people picking druids than expected. ;D
but I dont choose druid because They seem strong, I choose druid because I like The druid fantasy. as such I would try to push my skills to make Druid Shine above the rest.
(and if I feel the need to be an OP druid I can jump on retail for a bit ;;;D)
"Just because you're not topping meters doesn't mean you're useless"
This one sentence is what the WoW community has failed to understand, and why Blizzard abandoned the concept of "support" as a fourth role early on.
But then I'll be using my druid mostly for farming and jobs anyway, so I won't really care about meters too much.
This!!!!!
I think there also easy going guilds that don't care if they kill a raid boss best possible time at the end is about fun have great time together.
@@puppe213 the druid has the most support abilities, and the best buffs.
(EDIT: Okay I think the shaman and paladin actually have the druid beat in amount of support abilities.)
Yeah they all needed to be improved, in fact if you want to see a prime example of what could have been, check out Lord of the Rings' Captain class.
Totally agree. I never liked the tree of life form either. Loved the NE casting model
@@Kinson09 same here but unfortunately rolling horde don't like fighting shamans and not having stomp lol
I’ve only played wow since TBC and always as a Druid. Being a hots healing monster that always topped the meters is all I’ve ever known. I’m excited for the Healing Touch challenge and curious about my beloved class pre-TBC.
Brilliant! Keep people away from druids so we don't have to compete for drops!
But yeah, it's good you clarified these things.
I just hit 50 with my druid. Hearing these things are discouraging; however, being able to tank/heal/dps anytime I feel like it is still pretty awesome.
He made this video after being ganked.
Agree but understand this. I only want one classic character. If/when BC/wrath comes out, I want to play druid. Druid now is both an investment and a challenge. Also, mailboxes aren't going to dance themselves.
And BC was _very_ kind to druids.
Listening to this while leveling my druid main.
Sounds like someone wants all the Druid loots from all the Druids ever!

i first started playing druid a few weeks before TBC and i fell in love with the class rolling druid in each expansion and will be playing it in classic.
I watch your video's just in case there is any 100% NEEDED information. But for the most part, I'm going to play druid knowing fully that they have many ups and downs, I'm going to make up my own spec and figure out play styles for myself. Reasons for Ferals in raids:
The demand for druids is 1/40 for a raid and 1/10 for wsg. That's it.

Thank you for the "harsh" truth, but I am still determined to carve my own path and become a successful druid once more as I have been throughout nearly the entire WoW lifespan :)
I was never looking to top meters, but rather to enjoy the special playstyle, flexibility and class fantasy druid offers.
@@connor654 They can only benefit from windfury if they ARE horde....You know... cause only horde can be shamans...

Im going feral off tank for my group in classic today can't wait. I played druid from vanilla to cat and what you said is very true.

The more you say not to, the more I want to
Ill be honest, you've not said anything i didn't already expect.
@Ebbnflow the regrowth coefficient on the direct heal is higher in classic, which is an overall buff. On the hot portion it is lower.
Alot of my buddies wanted to be a druid until i explained how they worked in classic...I'm the only one now ;).
Hjernded Every 5 man I was even in described to the T lol, always felt like hey if I can fill gaps why not?
I have the most fun playing druid and can still get in raids if I want, and pvp.. that's all that matters
Play whatever class you enjoy. It is just a game after all. It isn't that serious.
Connor Kenney keep on it! I personally newer played moonkin, always feral hybrid. Mmo, play the way you like =)
I'm a new subscriber and new to the Druid for Classic.

I can't wait to see all you beautiful people online. Oh my god I'm so excited!
Now I realize that isn't the best approach and I can safely say i'm way more excited to play my druid and figure out all the cool shit I can do on it than I ever was about playing a warrior.
i agree with 100% of this vid. Love druid. HoTW/NS everytime.
Even after this video I'm still split between playing a shaman or a druid, perfectly 50/50 between them
I was too went druid what did you go for in the end ?
@@thepopeisdope559 Final Fantasy 14 and then kinda gave up, I might jump back onto Classic as a mage
@@loathewolf I would recommend druid man its great fun
I played a Balance / Resto hybrid in all of classic and BC for PvP. It is complex, assuredly. It has huge pay offs though and was my favourite class to play for a long time. I know most raids will look at the raw numbers classes put out for their dps/heals when deciding who to take, but great raid leaders will know that there is much more to it than that. You can't account for things like "the dps of your druid is somewhat combined with the guy you just battle rezzed. Or your dps + those guys you just saved with a well timed tranquility. Feral druids can even off tank in an emergency if the tank dies.
Already turned away to the other hybrid, Paladin. I wish you all luck and fun in Classic :)
Wow way to crush my Druid dreams ebbn :(
Better to hear the truth now than in 2 months
i knew what i was coming into, thats why i made druid my alt lol. i think all the information that you, skarm, and shedo have provided could make any druid have peak performance
We had 2 druids in our guild, both were stoners, enjoying weed. Dunno but the class fit perfectly to them !
Does not stop me from playing Druid in classic althougt i will not be the best Druid i will do my best. I just like the playstile 😀
Don't listen to bs train wagon videos like this one, druid is fun, if you like it, play it.
I usually play priest that’s my main, first time I’m playing Druid and I love them. Leveling is amazing, the fact I enjoy playing a supportive class. Druids for the win.
Druids with high skill cap are monsters in RBG's. Was watching Sodapoppin stream and he is soooo hard to stop.
Soda is prettty bad, soyboy
Well said.....Good luck in Classic!
@@Qstorm88 Thanks, you too!
Great video, great druid player!
Thanks for the vid! I'm sure people will reroll after they get their first taste of classic druid. It's not easy being second or third in every category, jack of all trades curse.
Great advice, gonna go out and rush to make my mage where I'll just do nothing but spam frostbolt while I develop a mental illness from the repetitive, unchallenging insanity that is its gameplay.
another day, another ebbnflow, good
It's good to make it very clear that Druid is not for everyone. But I am a seasoned support player and enjoy enabling my team to crush any content.
I tried Paladin, but there is no satisfaction in topping the healing meters, it's just boring.
I play Druid, because I AM SUPPORT.
Druid is the worst support though. You have like 0 support abilities. Who the fuck cares about innervate and battle ress lmao that's weak shit.
"weaker mana efficient heal" literally has the most mana efficient heal in the game (rank 4 or 5 healing touch)...
shhhhh
Yep, didn't pay attention to anything else said after that. Rank 4 Healing Touch is the most efficient in the game...
@@DennisEldrup to slow anyway. Shams and preasts already healed the target before a druid finished his healing touch
Can you update us about leveling with questing, the talents, gear/stats to focus on?
Amazing stuff, this vid comes just in time. I can´t decide if I go druid or hunter, it´s sooo difficult. Hunter would make much more sense as I have not much time unfortunately to play the game, 8 - 10 hours a week. I will probably never raid as no time, dungeons also very limited. Majority will be solo farming gold/herbs and PvP.
With more time I would definitely roll Druid knowing it´s not a good tank, not a good healer and not a good DD, with time you can compensate that..
Hunter is great too, have fun with it! :)
Ebn, I was hoping to see comments about the heart of the wild spec as well as Rezing in the perspective in practical of an experienced Druid.
Damn I had my heart set on Tauren Druid because I love the class fantasy
Then go for it! :)
You don't want to be around douchey elitist guilds or groups anyway, fuck em play druid
I am a mobility addict. I am looking forward to playing druid.
sounds like fun, isn't shaman mobile too?
FreedomFighter08 Druids can shapeshift instantly and are significantly harder to CC than shaman, they’re the best flag carriers in the game in WSG
Did viper through cat and bear get fixed?
Lol
If they add a BC classic server at some point, I'll main a Druid without a second thought. In Vanilla? Naw, I'll main a Warlock or Priest.
